Well, that only made him laugh even more. And he'd thank Ellie for that...if only she'd known what the start of the school year was like. At the moment, he was only enjoying the laughter.
"Yes, that's very mature of you, Miss 'I can do MAGIC'," he said, so completely mocking her, and also...kissed her cheek. She looked mighty adorable, by the way. And, yes, he knew what she meant, that didn't stop him from thinking how hilarious it had been.
Treyen wasn't so sure if he wanted to hear what the BEST part of it all was, because after the 'I can do MAGIC' bit, well, nothing could top that.
And he was right about not wanting to know...but for a different reason. One reason that made his ever-widely smile fall a little bit, or a lot, "That's...," yeah, no, he still didn't understand what the whole deal with Jared was, it was all too ridiculous to him, honestly, she should've kept Nolan instead, Treyen liked Nolan, but no, it had to be Jared, "...Dallin is a good professor, you know." This was probably the first good thing he'd said about Dallin, though, "He helped me with my Patronus."Helped, because he didn't exactly teach him. Treyen had known the theory, Dallin just helped with the practice.
He couldn't deny that the Apparition part was exciting, after all, getting his license had been...THE BEST, considering Kaika never got it at first try.
But...heeey, what was she doing? He instantly felt like he was a fourth year again! Which he sort of missed, but he wasn't admitting that. He broke free of one of her hands only to push her down by her shoulder ever-so-gently, "Eh, no. I still get to be taller." Unless she decided to wear heels.
The Ravenclaw giggled at Treyen's laughter. She didn't find what he found amusing amusing, but that he'd laugh at her amused her. If that made sense. "Mhm," she nodded. Very mature, indeed.
ANDSHECOULDDOMAGICNOW!!!
That was never going to stop being exciting!
.....
NO. Ellie's stomach twisted as his face fell. She knew why. She KNEW he wouldn't like it. But it had a LOT to do with why she was so excited about this. And, seriously, couldn't he just pretend to not hate one of her favorite people just this once?
So ELLIE decided to ignore it. He was NOT going to ruin her birthday due to unjustifiable ill feelings. She decided to focus instead, on the Dallin part. Though, she most likely missed the underlying reason he brought it up. "Really?! Does that mean you can do one?!" Could he show her?!
She giggled again when Treyen pushed her down. "You're still taller when I'm on my toes," she pointed out, weakly fighting his pressure to stand on her toes again. To prove her point, of course. Giggle

Seriously. Very mature for a Witch that is suddenly of age. Very.
And...he noticed, because something faltered in her. He should have pretended not to listen to what she'd said about Jared, the thing that annoyed him the most was the nickname, really. 'Little Professor' was more suitable for that Mr. Spenser who came last term and taught them about dueling. Now, he was a little Professor. Even if he wasn't a Professor at all. And now he was rambling on his head. Nice.
In all fairness, Ellie knew this. She knew that Treyen had irreconcilable differences with the former Charms instructor, so...why bring him up? It often seemed like she did it on purpose. Bring himand their summers together up.
It's not that he was jealous. Nope. Not at all. Maybe a little. No one knows.
Well, he could pretend that part of the conversation never happened AND focus on the Dallin bit for now. Though, he wasn't exactly sure he wanted to bring that up either. Treyen didn't know if he should just say how incredibly amazing it felt to see one's Patronus or...just keep quiet about it? "He can do it too. It was...incredible." Dallin, yes, focus on Dallin.
AND...he was smiling again. Really, he was only taller for...what? Three inches? That wasn't much. "And I like that." There was no denying he did. For the majority of his Hogwarts years he'd been the short one, he was only enjoying that wasn't happening anymore.
OH! He forgot! Well, he didn't forget, but she made him forget about..., "I...got you something, by the way." Mmmhmm. For her birthday. But...her blue eyes sidetracked him again and he didn't search for the little box. Silly Lockhart.

As Glenn wandered the castle, she found herself in the company of the one and only Mr-Treyen-Head-Boy that Sophie and her had harassed during the entry feast.
"Hey Mr Treyen, did you miss me?" She joked going up to the older students, "I don't know what you're complaining about," Glenn said to the older girl, "I'm way shorter than both of you," To show her point, Glenn looked up at them and stood on her toes, not getting close to their height.

Dallin could do it, too. Yeah, she worked that much out for herself, seeing as Dallin had helped him. "That's cool." No, really, it was. Ellie'll have to ask Dal about it next time she saw him. Which was rather soon, no? "So what is it?! Yours?" Not Dallin's. Dal's Patronus didn't interest her in Treyen's presence.
Hehehe. She stood, flat on her feet, and bit her lip. "I do, too." Maybe. She did sometimes...
Like NOW. When her eyes glowed and she was about to respond to him about this 'something' that he'd gotten her. But some ickle girl came up and interrupted them. Seriously? They were BUSY.
HMPH.
Besides, she wasn't a Ravenclaw. Nor did she much look like a Gryffindor. What was she doing all the way up here?
This was where Treyen's tallness came in handy. Because, after giving the girl a fleeting GLARE, Ellie dug her face into his shoulder. This was HIS problem. The ickle one was clearly a Hufflepuff and had spoken to HIM, so Treyen could deal with it, yeah?
And Ellie, though not particularly shy or embarrased, would just stay hidden in his shoulder. Forever hidden in Treyen's portable safe-place.

It was VERY cool. Or, well, so he thought.
Then she had to ask what his Patronus was...and he'll have no other choice but to tell her, right? Yet Treyen wished that she already knew which one was hers, so they could compare them or something, instead of him just saying which creature was his guardian or whatever. A corporeal Patronus was kind of neat, wasn't it?
Dallin's was a German Shepherd...but he wasn't telling her that.
See, he was about to tell her...when a little girl started to walk close by. It's not like the Head Boy wanted everyone to know this bit of information. So, his mouth was shut closed for the time being.
And...she liked the fact that he was taller? Funny.
He assumed the little person walking close to them to be a Ravenclaw, after all, they were still standing near the entrance to that Common Room...so he was surprised when the voice clearly stated his name. And...Ellie glared? What the hell Eliana Stone? So, she probably wanted to be alone with him just as much as he wanted it...but...that was no way of reacting to a little Hufflepuff girl who surely meant no harm.
Treyen still smiled at Glenn, though, and...he...somehow...added distance between him and Ellie, he'd hated that by the way, because he loved being closed to her, but she'll have to find another hiding place for the moment. The Head Boy was still holding her hand, though.
Glenn's questions was answered with a chuckle and nothing else, eyes on the Hufflepuff, "I can see you're shorter...which is good." It meant she could get away faster than they could, and the hiding places she could fit into were the best. "Actually, Glenn...I'm...kind of in the middle of something here...," he started to say, eyes on Ellie for a moment before turning back to Glenn, "...and...it's sunny outside, if I were you, I'd go outside to the grounds...like, right now," hint, hint, no more wandering around the corridors.
So...Glenn was free to go and be merry somewhere else.

Glenn frowned at Treyen and glanced at the older girl. She was GLARING at her! Why? The little huffy suddenly felt a little shy, "Uh - I'll just go then," She said awkwardly, "I can see you're a little busy with your girlfriend." She smirked and ran off down the hall.
She had no intention of going into the grounds, she had just been there. She was going to go to the common room. Leave Treyen to his 'business'.

Why Treyen, why? Why couldn't she stay in the comfort of his shoulder?
Meh.
Ellie picked her head up and looked at the girl. Yes, she was short. She was also younger. It usually worked that way. Except in Treyen's case, which was why him being taller was such an accomplishment to him. Anyway, the little girl was right again, Treyen WAS busy with his girlfriend. On her birthday, too, no less. So....Ellie wiggled her fingers at her. Goodbye fingers.
The redhead turned back to Treyen with her lip caught in her teeth. Like everything was RUINED now.

And now he was feeling utterly bad. It wasn't in him to tell someone to go away. Not like this, anyway, and not when they were only being nice. Treyen was probably going to explain a bit more if he saw her again.
"Sorry, Glenn." Truly, he was. "I'll see you around." Had that been a smirk he saw on the girl's face, though? Er, never mind, he had a Ravenclaw to deal with now. One who was probably going to complain a bit about this?
It's not like it was his fault they got interrupted anyway.

Now his eyes turned to Ellie. The hint of sorry still on them.
Basically, had Glenn found him alone he'd have talked to her and probably led the way to wherever she was heading, but that wasn't happening today. "Well, that was rude. On your side. The little glaring moment." It did bother him, and he didn't care if it was her birthday, he had to comment on it.
The girl didn't know they haven't been able to be alone since the school started, nor that it was her birthday either, therefore, she could've been nice about it...and not hide her face on his shoulder...which...he didn't truly mind, only the situation didn't require said behavior.
Anyway...., "Eh, where were we?" He was still trying to erase this tiny interruption from his mind...but he failed to remember what they'd been talking about...other than the 'Happy Birthday' part.

Really? He was going to point out her rudeness? "Sorry I wasn't going to be friendly after being interrupted," she mummbled. On. Her. Birthday. With her boyfriend.
Ellie had a few issues with this.
She rolled her eyes and stepped closer to Treyen again. "You were going to tell me what your Patronus is..." But it hardly seemed so exciting anymore.

And, sadly, he frowned. "You didn't have to do anything." Ellie didn't have to smile at the girl, or greet her, or anything at all! She could've just kept quiet while he oh-so-nicely pointed out that he was unavailable for everyone else. Wasn't that enough? That she had him for herself? And not just today, since she clearly came first before everything else.
So...she just lost, what? A minute of being the only person on his mind? She had the others 1439 minutes of the day. He...might be over reacting a little bit, but it hardly seemed fair that Glenn got that reaction from the Ravenclaw Captain.
The closeness was welcomed, though, and the frown he'd displayed before disappeared.
Oh. Right. What his Patronus was. Come to think of it...Glenn couldn't have made an appearance at the worst of times, he really wasn't in the mood for many things now. "Actually, that hardly seems interesting...," he will tell her, eventually, "...I want to listen to what it is you want to do today." He was trying to bring her back to her former state.

"It's a Phoenix, by the way." His Patronus.
Ugh. So now what? He was upset? With her? "I didn't." Who was to say that was 'glaring' anyway? What if that was just how she looked at people, hmm? Treyen couldn't prove anything.
She looked down at her feet, frowning as well. She wasn't going to apologize just because Treyen thought she was rude. He's been ruder before, you know.
"No, it doesn't," she said, shaking her head. A shrug followed. "I don't know." Nor did she care. She didn't really think about it. She really just wanted to be alone with him. Somewhere.
Or maybe not if he was going to be upset with her.
A phoenix? That was....wicked, actually. "Can you show me?" Pleeeaaasseee?

Right. Fine. She didn't do anything. He was just going to leave it at that because he just noticed how stupid it was for him to even mention it in the first place. He saw the glaring, though, but...whatever.
The reason for his decision to drop it...was, well for one, it was incredibly ridiculous if he actually started an argument over this...and second...he WAS ruining her birthday. The most meaningful birthday ever...and he couldn't keep quiet about looks given to some Hufflepuff kid. Looked like Dallin wasn't the only idiot.
Treyen pretty much ruined a lot of things for her, didn't he?
Either way, he sighed. Now he didn't know if she had no plans...or if she didn't want to spend time with him anymore. Which entirely sucked. And it was all thanks to him.
A small smile appeared on his lips when she asked if he could show her...well, he could conjure his Patronus...but did he want to? For her? Yes. "I will...," he started to say, "...but first," another second chance, and another smile, "Happy Birthday, girlfriend." And his lips met hers.
No Scabiors around, yes? No. Good.
"So," he said, clearing his throat, "Patronus, right?" Funny how the times he'd cast it Treyen was on the seventh floor. Okay, his hold on Ellie's hand just got tighter after he took his wand and...since he was supposed to FOCUS, then his eyes went to a spot somewhere along the corridor. The same memory on his mind, and he focused, just like Transfiguration, before a louder-than-expected 'Expecto Patronum' graced the corridor. And...there it was. The silvery phoenix that made its first appearance in front of Dallin, only much more detailed since he'd practiced . For a few moments it soared through the corridor like any bird would, before lighting up in flames when Treyen decided to end it.
It was a good thing they didn't NEED to be protected from anything at the moment...granted, Patronuses should protect them from unwanted interruptions. "That's...," yes? "That's it."
Right. Fine. She didn't do anything. He was just going to leave it at that because he just noticed how stupid it was for him to even mention it in the first place. He saw the glaring, though, but...whatever.

It was a good thing they didn't NEED to be protected from anything at the moment...granted, Patronuses should protect them from unwanted interruptions. "That's...," yes? "That's it."
Oh no. He sighed. Ellie's body stiffened unknowingly, as if preparing for some sort of retort from Treyen. "Please don't," she said quickly, raising her head only to see him smiling. Her cheeks flushed from the apparently unnecessary outburst.
He wasn't upset with her? Well that was...good. Better. Good.
And they weren't discussing it at all, her rudeness. Which she knew existed, but...but still. Though, in all fairness, she'd have reprimanded Treyen had he behaved as she did toward someone she knew. But still. She'd rather not be lectured or argue on her birthday, during her and Treyen's first 'alone-time' since...a while.
But he was finally going to show her his Patronus, which was what she wanted before the interruption so...things could flow normally, yeah?
Or after Treyen kissed her.
Ellie smiled into the kiss. Mhm, happy birthday her. She could do magic now. She just needed to keep that thought in mind and everything would be better.
Yes, Patronus. Ellie nodded. Go on, go on!
She cringed a bit at the volume Treyen said the spell. Really, was that necessary? But soon she was grinning at the Phoenix, watching it fly down the corridor in all its...beauty. The flame part she wasn't expecting, but it totally made sense, as it was a Phoenix. Ellie stared at the spot for a moment and said, "That's...b...brilliant, Treyen." Yeah....brilliant.

Mmmhmm. Brilliant. Right. He...didn't want to make a big deal about it, though. So, he just kept quiet, eyes on Ellie as she stared into the nothingness that was left of the spell.
OH.
"I forgot." He sort of did, because he should've given this as soon as he saw her...but it was her fault he got sidetracked, after all, she'd mentioned that she could do magic. And he was never going to forget that. Nope.
So, his wand was safely in his pocket now, but a silvery box was suddenly occupying his hand. "This is a little something I got for you." It was just a gesture, a small gift for becoming one year older.
Though, the perfect gift would be for him to try not to argue anymore about little things that...well, most of them didn't even matter, but yeah, that would be a better gift. One gift she wasn't getting, because he couldn't keep his mouth shut, apparently.
OOC: This is in the box, let's pretend it's a bracelet, though it really is MY necklace he's giving away *pokes him*.

Ellie was actually surprised Treyen said nothing more on the Patronus. Why was it that nothing amazing ever seemed a big deal to him? Like when he shrugged off eleven OWLs. It was crazy.
Unless he'd forgotten something about his Patronus. But that seemed unlikely. After all, how much was there to remember? It was just performing a spell. And it seemed pretty perfect to Ellie.
But then her gaze dropped to a box in his hand. He had said something about having something for her, didn't he?
What it could be, though, Ellie hadn't a clue. Nothing that immediately came to her head was that small. She bit her lip as she took the box in her hands and looked up at Treyen. Open now?
Once the top was off, she blinked at the bracelet inside before a grin broke across her face. Now Ellie really wasn't one for jewlery. But if she was going to wear some, it might as well be Quidditch-related, no? And that it was from Treyen made her actually want to wear it. "Thank you."
Again she lifted her head, but only to kiss him.

Yeah, so, the grin meant she'd liked it, right? Ellie couldn't possibly pretend she had liked just to make him feel good about it. Nah, she wouldn't.
Also, she'd thanked him, all the more reason to believe that taking Kaika's advice was definitely worth the awkwardness of having to explain to his sister how he got himself a girlfriend. Not that he really explained...after all, it wasn't his sister's business. However, he'd blushed a lot when asking for the favor.
Treyen was about to say something when she kissed him.
He couldn't possibly care about anything else right now, he didn't even know what it was he'd been meaning to say...after...whatever it was she said.
It took him a while longer to finally break the kiss, yet once he did, there was a wide smile on his face. "Do you--Should I--," seriously? Pick a question, Treyen, "May I?" he said, gesturing to the bracelet. Wasn't there something missing to what he said, though? "Put it on your wrist, I mean." It will fit her, for sure, but...well...
Actually, the first question he should've asked was..., "Do you like it?"

If there was a bright side at all in Ellie's opinion to the interrupting situation, it was that it didn't happen then. Or Treyen would have had to pull away a lot sooner. Because Ellie would have gladly ignored anyone who came up to them while they kissed.
Treyen was being adorable, not finishing his sentences. But she really needed him to, for she had no idea what he wanted.
Oh. The girl smiled. "Please," she held both the box and wrist up to him. Merlin knew she didn't know how to work bracelet mechanisms. She'd have to practice, though. Or just forever keep it on her wrist after Treyen put it there.
Ellie blushed. "Yes." She did like it. And she didn't lie.

A nod came to his head as soon as she spoke. So, yeah, for some incredibly weird reason he knew how to put on a bracelet on a girl. Best not to comment on it, right?
He did have many girls as friends, though.
Either way, Treyen took the bracelet from the box, which she could throw away by the way, the box not the bracelet, and then with both hands placed it around her wrist...and...done. The bracelet was safely put in place, yet he was still holding her hand in one of his. "Perfect." He was mostly referring to their hands, but the bracelet looked nice too.
Nod. "I'm glad." Mmhmm, he was.
They could...get moving somehow, couldn't they? Like...away from the stairs and head some other place? "Come with me." That was what she'd wanted in the first place, no? To be with him? So, he pulled her along as he started to walk.
"I met Max, by the way. He's a very nice boy." And, apparently, a good friend to Ellie.

It felt weird, having a weight on her wrist, having something surrounding her wrist at all. Ellie wasn't even used to wearing hairties around because she never wore her hair up. So it was just....weird. It was going to take getting used to.
Perfect. She flicked her wrist just to feel the weight shift.
Mhhhhhhm. Treyen really needn't say anything. He only had to walk and she'd follow.
....That surprised her. Entirely. "I know he's nice. He's an amazing person. I'm a bit surprised that you two didn't meet until this year." Only a bit. Max tended to be reserved, so him and Treyen not crossing paths earlier wasn't too much of a shock. However, considering that Max was her bestfriend and Treyen was her boyfriend, it was a bit odd.

Arabella-Marie smiled and said "Not really this corridor is always pretty quiet during the day when everyone is at lessons and nice to meet you Ariadne, I am Arabella, Arabella-Marie Kingston but more commonly known as Arabella"

'Well then I suppose it's probably a more suited place for people who are up to something while everyone else's in class.' Ari winked, her eyes shining with a glint of Gryffindor mischief. 'That's a very pretty name.' she smiled. 'I've never met anyone named Arabella before. Not that my name is common either. My mum felt the need to go Greek.' she chuckled, remembering how she used to be teased for her unusual name as a child, which she had now grown to love for its uniqueness. 'So tell me something to remember you by, except your name.'

Yes, exactly, Max was nice. Though, apparently...more than nice, since now he was amazing. Ha.
That only brought a smile to his face, it was good to know she had such friends. Plus, they...got along, didn't they? That was a bonus, too. Imagine if Treyen didn't get along with Sabel? Tragedy.
However, he looked at her, curiously, "I'm a bit more surprised at the fact that I didn't know he existed," not because he knew a bunch of people, "I mean, I didn't know you were so close." Why did he added that bit? "I only knew he was the Keeper last year." So, it wasn't like he really didn't know the boy existed, he just wasn't aware of who Max actually was. Or is.

An eyebrow went up. That was a bit conceited, wasn't it? Though Ellie knew that Treyen tended to know nearly EVERYONE, as she'd told Max, it didn't mean that he should know that he knows nearly everyone.
And then he clarified himself. "You mean that I didn't mention him?" She shrugged, "He never came up." Honestly, did Treyen really want her going on about some other guy when they spent time together. He didn't like talking about Dallin....He didn't even like talking about Little Professor. What would Treyen think if she spoke of the boy she cuddled with and cried on and had heart-to-heart conversations with?
So she didn't mention her bestfriend. If anyone should be upset, it should be Max, actually, but either Max didn't know or didn't care that he wasn't mentioned.

Once she had left the common room, Vashti made her way down to the seventh floor corridor. Her school bag was, of course, hanging off her shoulder, but this time it only had a couple books inside it instead of...well, instead of more than a couple. The last few times she had gone off to study and brought most of her books, it hadn't actually gone well, so she decided to just bring a few. Maybe then she'd be able to study. But should she go to the library or somewhere else? She pondered that question as she wandered down the corridor...
