The old Divination tower, which has recently lay bare, and unused, is today open again for business. The empty classroom has been opened, dusted, cleaned, and is now welcome for the students to come along. The desks have been laid out in an unusual pattern, in a large semi-circle, facing the front, allowing for demonstrations to occur in the middle.
The visiting speaker, Vanessa Paton Healer Intern, is sitting at the front, next to a couple of boxes of equipment, awaiting the arrival of the students. She is very excited about teaching the students, as the topic is a favourite of yours. Behind her, is a blackboard with some instructions charmed on.

Welcome. Please take a seat. On the desk you’ll find a piece of parchment. Please write your name ,house, and year on it. I hope you enjoy the lesson
[[Ooc: Hey Guys! We’re gonna officially start in a couple of hours, probably around 3PM gmt. Make sure you follow the rules we don’t want you losing any points!!]]
Practical side? O__o Okay, it was time for Louisa to never raise her hand and occupy herself with... her empty parchment! Yes, that was way more interesting than volunteering in a healing class. With an INTERN healer. Nothing personal against the nice lady but Louisa wanted to live till the end of Hogwarts at least, thank you very much.
When Selina raised her hand to volunteer, the fifth year gave her friend a look of... goodbye? Hopefully not, hehehe.

Honestly, dry teachers always seemed to put Selina to sleep and she was glad that the seminar lesson teacher they had chosen for the lesson was good spirited.
When she asked for a volunteer Selina looked around the room. It seemed no one else was stepping up. The redhead shrugged her shoulders and rose her hand, "I'll volunteer, Healer Paton."

Ahh. She seemed to have more volunteers than she really did need. Vannie mused, looking at the students. Well. She did only really need one, but she could stretch it to two. She thought. Oooh. Vanessa knew. "Miss Skylar, Miss Fanster, over here please." She smiled at the two girls, and she stood up. "Don't worry..." She smiled at the other students that had volunteered. "You'll have a go too in a bit."
This was the part of the lesson she was looking forward to most. It had been pretty fun to plan. So she was hoping it was going to work. "Miss Skylar, you will be the poor soul that's bleeding if that's okay?" The girl had voluntered though, so Vanessa assumed that she would be okay. "If you'll just lie down on the floor please" She indicated to the floor, which was nice and clean.
"We're going to pretend that Miss Skylar had cut her arm. I've brought some of my special make up with me, so we can make it look like she has actually cut her arm." As she had thought, this was going to be a great part of the lesson. Reaching into one of the boxes. She pulled out the box of special make up, along with a bottle of nice red stuff. "I've also got this bottle of fake blood..." She mused with a grin. ""It's just some water mixed with muggle food coloring. Not real blood so don't panic" Because she could see that coming. Turning back to her two volunters she decided to talk to Kimalia this time. "You can have fun making Miss Skylar look likes she cut herself." She explained whilst handing the box over to her.
Nowww. For something for the rest of the class to do. "While Miss Fanster gives your victim." Grrinn. "a wound. Does anyone know what we'd do to stop the bleeding? In terms of first aid?"

Minerva put up her hand to volunteer, but realized someone was already picked. Then the healer asked another question. "Would you put gauze on it and a band aide?"

August sat up higher in his seat in order to watch Selina and the other girl get ready to help the Healer Intern with her practical example. He felt a little nervous the for the snake and the Quidditch Captain but was still a bit more curious than the former emotion.
Now as the two girls were setting the scene with the special make-up, the Gryffindor listened to the question they were all just asked and then raised his hand. "Ma'am, pressure is often needed in order to get the person to stop bleeding."
Selina grinned. They were going to cover her in blood? That was brilliant! She was so excited and what made the whole thing more brilliant was the person making her wounded was the Slytherin Quidditch Captain. It was some ironic twist: the Gryffindor Captain and the Slytherin Captain. The whole thought made her smile in twisted delight. Would anyone else notice the irony? She supposed not. Per the request of Healer Paton she lay down on the floor, but she looked at Kimalia and joked, "Ready Captain? Bloody me up."

Ella looked at the girl's arm then raised her hand, remembering how her mom had cleaned cuts back at home. "At home, mum would clean it with water and a cloth and then put some stuff on it so it wouldn't get infected...oh, and then she'd put a bandage on it to keep the wound clean!"

When the healer moved on the seminar and asked for a volunteer or two for the next part, Gideon thought about offering himself. But seeing as Selina and he believed the new Slytherin captain had spoken up first and was accepted by the woman, the Gryffindor backed down. That was going to be interesting...one quidditch player deliberately being allowed to 'injure" another. The 5th year bitting back a chuckle as he heard what Selina said to her fellow captain.
Absently watching to see what was happening to his girlfriend, he looked up as they were asked how to handle a cut. "Ye should elevate the cut while ye out pressure on it, lifting it above yer heart if ye can." That would lessen the blood floo if he remembered what he was told during his own injuries over the years.

Alyssa raised her hand and answered. "Ma'am you would first put pressure on the wound to slow down the bleeding and while we're doing that we try to plug the hole to stop it from bleeding by using gauze." Alyssa had seen her grandparents who were healers do that all the time.

Say what, Kimalia had the honor to make another person bleed. *Grin* Accepting the bottle of fake blood, she made sure to take advantage of the situation. A snake captain making the lion captain bleed. Hehe. She was tempted to just dump the whole bottle on her head to toe just to see the effect, but that might scare the squeamish.
"You got it, this'll be great practice for the field." Both the treatment and the receiving wounds, Quidditch wasn't a soft sport after all. Hehe. Working the magic, Kimalia used the materials provided diligently working to at least get the cut looking defined, before finishing off with some of the fake blood smeared to look fresh and active. "There, how does that look?"

Zhenya tried to remember what she had learned from those text books of her dads... As an aspiring Healer herself, she had tried to study like him. She raised her hand and said, "Madame the first thing is to apply pressure to the wound. From what I understand... it stops blood from coming out of the wound which encourages it to clot, and also it prevents bruising - not that that would be much of a worry. Then once that has settled, to protect the new clot, the best thing is to cover it up with some ointment of some kind and a clean patch of some kind with some tape holding it down. Like a bandaid! And then if it's big enough, cover it with a bandage to protect it from any further harm. It's weird how if you get a cut on one limb, it just seems like that limb is the one that will get bumped or something," she said. Maybe it was just her? She was having a great time in this Seminar, maybe they should make it a subject at school.

Hmmm... we are wizards... couldn't we just whip up a snazzy spell and be done with it? Hannah thought it was best to keep that comment to herself. Sure her friends enjoyed her sarcasm, but she had a feeling the healer would not! So with her hand raised she gave an answer. "Perhaps a band-aid?" Of course if they were bleeding bad that wouldn't do much good. Oh well that was her answer and she was sticking to it.

Amelia wished she had been quicker so that she could volunteer, but she was still happy just watching for the moment. She raised her hand. "First you would put pressure on the wound to stop the blood from coming out and encourage it to clot. Then I believe some type of ointment or disinfectant is used. After that, you would cover it with a bandage, or gauze."
Louisa was half-standing half-sitting on her chair as Selina lied down and the professor got her kit and explained the process. Wow. She was about to get fake-cut. But then the woman asked something distracting the Ravenclaw from watching the show of bloodying Selina. Meh.
Raising her hand, she replied, "If it's a deep wound that gushes out blood, pressure is the best first aid. If it's just a shallow one, then a bandage would do?" Totally muggle knowledge here.

It wasn't as if Kurumi hadn't seen blood before. Nor was it that she was squimish around it. Nope, this Gryffindor could handle anything with a crimson hue, including blood. What made this different was that she was seeing an reenactment of her BEST friend lying on a table with what looked like a serious injury. Was...all this really necessary?
Kurumi sort of began to turn a greenish hue and wobbled in her seat, completely missing the next question being asked.

Nessie raised her hand. "If it's bad enough you would put pressure on it and call someone experienced but otherwise you'd clean the wound and put a bandage or gauze around it." She said confidently.

Violet raised her hand. "You would put pressure on the cut if it's bleeding a lot and call someone to call for help." Violet wasn't exactly sure what she was saying, but it seemed to make sense from health classes in muggle school.
Sophie frowned once again. "Can't we use some kind of spell to close the wound and make it stop bleeding?" They were all wizards and witches, weren't they?
When the instructor had asked for two volunteers, Ira had been too doubtful.. Nope, she wasn't going to be a volunteer for this seminar which was based on.. blood and bleeding. Ira didn't like anything of that!
But then Selina and Kimalia went for it. Pretty brave of them, no? And then Ira's doubts became a little less as the instructor explained what was going to happen. Fake cut? Oh okay!
When asked a question on how to stop bleeding, ira raised her hand and answered, "Ma'am, firstly, you have to clean the area and then bandage it.. But my father used to say that id we were hurt by a rusted Iron object, then it is better to let the blood flow out for a minute, so as to remove the infected blood and then bandage up." At least something like that her father used to tell her, but then again, she had never paid much attention to his explanations.

As he waited with the rest for the healer to respond and others gave answers, Gideon's gaze shifted around the room and the gathered students. He noticed Kurumi as well among them and briefly wondered if both friends had wanted to come or one had persuaded the other to come with her.
His attention was about to move away when he noticed his fellow fifth year look a little woosy in her seat and his head tilted in curiousity and maybe a little concern as he watched for anything else. He leaned forward, reaching and lightly touching her shoulder. The Gryffindor not wanting to draw attention but just show he was there and making sure she was ok.
Okay he didn't except that. Messer saw Selina volunteered herself along with the Slytherin Captain. He felt little nervous for this practical side but he's kinda curious too. So, the first year sat up straight hoping that he could see what's going on.
The healer said that she's gonna use special make-up thingy to make like the Slytherin Quidditch captain cut herself. Then after she finished with the two captains, Mrs. Peton asked her next question. Messer raised his hand back in the air "We use the band-aid, Ma'am." That one or a bandage.

Jory raised his hand. "If its a deep wound, apply pressure first. After the bleeding stops, clean the wound and bandage it. In some cases, like in the case of an arm, it can be elevated above the head to help stop the bleeding also.''
India was sitting there quietly blood wasn't her thing. Not at all. The hot iron smell, everything was, well, so. Icky. Feint at the thought of Selina getting wounded, she raised her hand. "Professor, you have to raise the wounded area above the heart while applying pressure with a clean rag or bit of cloth...after you do that clean the wounded area with Iodine or Hydrogen Peroxide so there is no chance for infection then if its deep wrap it with gauze - if not just bandage." She went over board. Yeah, her sister was just that - stupid? Already cut her leg twice in one summer thank you coral reef's.

Daisy smiled slightly, she must know the answer to this question; she used to fall off her broom and graze her knee all the time, and her brother, who wasn't allowed to use magic in the holidays back then, would have to - very clumsily - patch her up so she could continue. 'Professor,' she began, 'wouldn't you have to clean the area, then let it form a scab, so leave it open until it stops bleeding for a short time, and then clean put a band aid or some kind of protection over it so the scab won't get knocked off.' She answered, unsure if that was the right order

Daichi had been shifting more uncomfortably in his chair when the healer announcend to be wanting volunteers. But when the two captains raised their hands he sighed in relief. He was more curious to watch rather than participate since he was scared he would do something wrong and the class would laugh at him, or something.
Listening to the healer, he sat at the edge of his seat to lean on his table a bit to see what was happening. ''Professor?! ...eh i mean, Healer Paton. We use gauze pads to still the blood" he said after holding up his arm. "My mother used it on my leg once when i fell of a swing!" ...why did he sounded so proud? "She told me that the gauze pads hold the blood so that it sticks together... i think... can't really remember.. but it was something like that~" he nodded his head frantically as he smiled.
"Or use magic..but i'll probably blow the person up.." eeeh.. and that was no lie. He already had almost! blown the ex-slytherin prefect up in the room of requirement.
