The glittering night sky is clear and visible through the enchanted ceiling, and the floating candles bedeck the entire hall in a warm golden light. All seems well with the world, aside from the empty plates still waiting for food to appear.
Good thing he left. Gwen seriously doubted she could have taken it for much longer. As she drew her attention towards the staff table, the third year could only notice everyone seated and umm… two people talking in the back. Wasn’t one of them the Astronomy Professor? Meh. Still looking around, the young Ravenclaw heard footsteps approaching the place where she was staying, but she didn’t mind to check who it was. Hmm. Probably just another Ravenclaw.
But then she heard her name being called. ‘Hmm?’, the third year finally looked at the student and, noticing who it was, a smirk appeared on her face. ‘Tayla!’, the girl said with an actual smile on her face. Not grin. Not smirk. Smile. ‘Umm… I guess’, she replied. Well. Now that Zeke was gone, she was all right.
She then moved a bit to make room for Tayla at the table. ‘How are you?’ Hmm. She hadn’t seen the Gryffindor in a while.
Tayla returned the smile and took a seat next to Gwen. "I'm great, thanks! Happy that Gryffindor gained more points than Slytherin. I was afraid we wouldn't be able to. Congratulations to Ravenclaw by the way!"
Tayla, naturally a curious little lion, still wondered what happened to Gwen. She noticed she was talking - quite heatedly - to a boy before he left. "I'm sorry...I'm just curious...I hope you don't mind but, you seemed to be arguing with a boy a moment ago. He your boyfriend or something?" Tayla felt both shy for asking and concerned for her friend.

Even though she had been a bit upset, seeing Tayla definitely made the Ravenclaw feel better. What? She’d really missed her friend. ‘Thanks’, she replied with a grin. ‘Congrats to you too…’, she started saying, willing to add the thing about Gryffindor managing to beat Slytherin, but then heard Tayla mentioned it.
Even though Gwen realized it was something typical for all the Gryffindors- being curious, and expected Tayla to be like that too, she looked simply puzzled at her friend.
WHAT?
Her face simply dropped and Gwendolyn couldn’t help staring blankly at Tayla. How in the world had she come to this conclusion??‘Nonono’, she said, still looking shocked. ‘I don’t have a boyfriend’ How could Tayla have even assumed that? Besides- Zeke wasn’t even her friend. Psh.
Anyhow- Gwendolyn felt the desperate need to change the subject, so she found herself asking, all of a sudden: ‘Do you have any plans for the summer?’. There. Perhaps she shouldn’t have changed the subject so abruptly…

Tayla raised one eyebrow in a tease. She couldn't decide whether Gwen meant it or whether it was all an act and at least had a crush on whoever that boy was. Plus how quickly she had changed the subject. Hmmm... "Okay," Tayla replied simply. Better not push it. "But if you ever want to talk to someone..." she said vaguely and shrugged. She was sure Gwen knew she would be there for her if she needed someone to listen.
"I'm not sure what my parents have planned for the summer," Tayla replied, feeling her excitement build up. "But last summer Dad brought us horse-riding. It was great fun! But I'd love a simple trip to the beach, too."

Tayla smiled. "What are your plans?"
Ugh. Seriously. This made her hate Zeke even more… if that was possible. ‘You are funny’, she laughed, not really taking it seriously. ‘Anyway- thanks’, she added just to assure Tayla she wasn’t just mocking her. But you know… it was nice of Tayla to suggest that… ‘It is not the case’, she shook her head and tried to finally keep a straight face. Besides, she hated it when other people were talking about love and things that had to do with it… why would she even want to start such a conversation? Psh.
‘Really? That sounds like fun’, the third year nodded. ‘I think I’ll be going to Egypt in the first part of the holiday’ Mhm. Because her dad was stuck there with curse breaking stuff. ‘But after that, I’m not sure if I have anything planned’, the girl mused. ‘I just want to meet with my friends over the summer. It is always terrible to catch up with what has been happening to everybody in the first weeks of the term’ Mhm. Meetings on Diagon Alley are way better. ‘If you are not very busy… maybe we could hang out some time?’

"Egypt! That sounds like a great place to visit!" Tayla replied. "Will it be you first time?"
Tayla nodded when Gwen mentioned about meeting friends over the summer. "Yeah, I'd love to hang out!" She grinned, very happy to have been asked. "Both your parents are wizards right? Because my dad's a Muggle and we live in the Muggle world and...well...I love my dad but it can get pretty boring without magic." A trip to Diagon Alley, or to a house in the wizarding world would be really exciting.

Beezus unlatched the button on her robe as she stepped inside the Great Hall. Why, it suddenly felt warm. TOO warm.
Looking around, she couldn't help but grin as farewells were being sent to and fro. The Headmaster's speech wasn't given yet and of course, the students took the opportunity to say goodbye to their friends especially the seventh years who'd be graduating. There surely wasn't one who failed right?
Speaking of seventh years, she really needed to wish Vashti some luck. And well, she could add Ellie to that. Yet it can wait. Most certainly, it can. After all, there was still time after the Feast. A bit but still, there was time.
The young eaglette took a deep breath and shuffled to her House Table. Just for a while, she wanted to forget about the letter her cousin sent and the fact that MAYBE she won't be coming back afterwards. She snorted at the thought, why was she even thinking about it?! She was trying to forget it for the time being!
.........
She finally arrived on the Table, only to find out that there weren't any food yet. "Great," she mumbled under her breath as she sat down on a vacant space not too far-not too close to other students conversing.

Vashti knows everything about Louisa...
But before Louisa could mourn more, Lily was hugging and being all sweety and cutey to her. Louisa's arm went around the little girl's shoulder, "Awww, that's very sweet of you Lily. I am glad that you're not leaving." She let go and blew her nose into the tissue some more. "How was your first year at Hogwarts then?" She remembered Lily being all shy and a wallflower in the beginning of this term. She didn't get to spend more time with the firstie due to her OWLs but maybe today was the time for a major catch-up?

Louisa's jaw dropped open. And so did her hand, the one holding Ellie's. She stared at Dallin's bright grin, and almost winced at Ellie's squeeeeee. Were they.. serious? She slowly glanced down at the ring again.
Then up at both of the glowing couple.
Then at the ring that wasn't as sparkly as their aura.
Aaaand back up at Dallin and Ellie. Louisa's mouth twitched into an unconvinced smile, "You're getting married? Like.. the way adults do it?" Vows and everything? "Wow." she said quietly. It wasn't the fact that Dallin was about to marry Ellie, everybody knew they were meant for each other. Even Louisa, she grew to love them both and their silly arguments. But.. seeing it all happening for real was... "Wow." she said again, staring at the ring all this time.
With her tissue she wiped her nose and put on a more genuine smile. Her arms were spread open then as she tried to hug them BOTH, each arm wrapped around one of their necks. "I hope you do a good job at it," she sniffled.
Pulling slightly away, and very quickly, she stuttered, "I mean... congratulations of course! I'm just.." she hugged them again, sobbing into one of their shoulders. It didn't really matter which as long as it muffled the sound.
Aaand speaking of couples, Louisa let them go gently before turning to Vashti. And looking at her finger. "You're not getting married, are you?" Exactly how did she miss this much in only three months?

Looking for someone?
Oh. Ellie must have noticed how she kept looking over at the Hufflepuff table. Not that that was surprising. Vashti wasn't really trying to be subtle about it. So she decided to be honest as well. "Just Anakin." But apparently he was avoiding the feast just like he had at the beginning of term. She just hoped he wasn't going to avoid the train too - or, more likely, avoid her on the train - because tonight and tomorrow might be the last time they saw each other for awhile. Unless of course he didn't want to see her anymore anyway, in which case...well, graduation and life after would become a lot more awful than she had originally thought.
But she really didn't want to think about that.
Vashti's attention turned briefly to Louisa but she was now preoccupied with Ellie's ring and her and Dallin's engagement, so the Head Girl's attention went to the first year beside Louisa. "I'm sure she does," she reassured the girl when she seemed uncertain whether Louisa considered her a friend. And Louisa seemed to hear and quickly assured her of that fact as well. "See?" She gave the first year a small smile.
And it was then that she remembered she hadn't introduced herself. "I'm Vashti, by the way," she said, still managing to smile.
But then Louisa's attention was turned away from the two engaged seventh years and back to her. Was she getting married? "No," she replied quickly, her face flushing red at the very thought and absentmindedly reaching her right hand over to touch her bare left ring finger. "I don't even have a boyfriend anyway."
Lily glanced from Vashti over to Louisa. That was nice to know that Louisa considered the first year as a friend. She grinned at her fifth year friend before looking back at Vashti. "Nice to meet you Vashti... You're graduating, right?" She asked with the grin still plastered on her face.
Turning back to Louisa as they gave each other a hug, she proceeded to tell her friend all about the term. "It was really good. I made three best friends already." Lily said proudly before continuing on. "And part way through the term, I had to go to the hospital wing because I tripped down the stairs... you know the ones that move... but then I got to go back to classes and I went to almost all of the Quidditch matches... I want to try out for the team next year, so I'm going to get a broom and practice at home in my backyard..." The little claw paused to catch her breath and grin at Louisa. "And then I took my finals... I think I passed... and now I'm here with you." Lily ended by hugging the fifth year again. "What about your term?" Somehow, the firstie was able to fit her entire term into a paragraph... or at least the important points...

Blink, blink.
Louisa turned from Dallin and Ellie for a second, wiping her nose. "What do you mean you don't have a boyfriend? What about Anakin?" Sweet, nice, adorable and good looking ANAKIN. Who'd forget him? Or worse...
... but her mind didn't latch on the worse yet.
Throwing her arms up in frustration, Louisa moved her gaze to all three of her alumni friends. "What's with you guys? I go AWOL for a month and some get married while others got amnesia?"

Louisa nodded her head at Lily's first year recital. She even smiled genuinely at most of it! The girl had obviously stepped out of her shell. Hugging her back, Louisa felt something in her chest tighten at Lily's last words. The little girl thought much of her. Maybe even too much. Louisa wasn't that much nice or the role model kids should look up to or anything. Yet Lily didn't seem to mind her.
Her term? Internally scoffing at that, Louisa shrugged. "OWLs mostly. It's why I didn't get to spend much time with my friends. All of them," she bumped Lily's arm gently. "Although my boyfriend... left. And is not a boyfriend anymore but that's okay." Louisa didn't want to talk about boys in front of twelve year olds. That was inappropriate, right? Right.
Just as she was about to ask something else, something flickered at the corner of her eye. Louisa looked at the staff table and saw Althea and Eddie... Charading? "Wow, professor Roslund must've spilled the beans," Louisa said carefully, watching the scene. It was obvious that Althea wasn't very impressed. Hopefully she wouldn't decapitate the messengers of his letters while seeing all red.
With her attention back to Lily, she smiled. "Well. Let's talk about something cheerful. How about summer, your plans?"

"You didn't have to get me anything," she said kindly, though she accepted the gift. Kurumi surely knew she didn't have to get her any sort of present anyway, and the fact that she still had was incredibly sweet. Unexpected, but incredibly touching.
And...should she open it now or should she wait? She knew some people who preferred the present to be opened immediately, but she also knew some who preferred not being around when gifts were opened. Which did Kurumi prefer?
Kurumi bowed her head sheepishly as she was accustomed to do in these sort of situations. She knew that she didn't have to, but she just felt as though she should - even if the gesture was ridiculously small compared to the impact that the Ravenclaw had had on herself as a first year. It had been her first baby step towards accepting flying on brooms as something natural.
She never really did embrace this, however, considering she still needed to attend Professor Vindictus' brush up lessons at the beginning of each term. But that wasn't the point.
"Have to and want to are two very different things," she laughed softly. "I...I don't know if you are pursuing Quidditch after this, so think of the broom as...more of a metaphor." You know, flying through life like a true Claw sort of thing.
Kurumi took another look around the Ravenclaw table and tugged on her sleeves some more. She probably should start heading back to her own table soon. "I just want you to have that...and...to say thank you. You've really been an inspiration."

...Louisa seemed to think it was though. Or something. She obviously wasn't taking any of this well. "Nobody's got amnesia," Vashti told her. "Anakin and I broke up." Therefore, no boyfriend. It was really that simple.
Because pffft, like she could ever forget about Anakin.

Since there were no protests...Vashti decided it was okay to open the small package. She listened to Kurumi as she did so, turning her eyes to look at the Gryffindor while her hands worked quickly on opening the gift. She couldn't help but smile as the prefect mentioned "have to" and "want to" being different. That was very true, and that was part of the reason why Vashti really appreciated the gift already.
She managed to open it just as Kurumi continued, and her expression changed briefly to one of surprise before returning to a soft smile. A career in Quidditch wasn't really her thing, but that didn't mean she would stop loving the sport or flying. And, of course, it reminded her of Professor Vindictus' lessons, including the one she had met Kurumi in back in her third year and Kurumi's first. It seemed like only yesterday and yet so long ago at the same time.
And...an inspiration? Her? Vashti wasn't sure she'd ever done anything very inspiring...but she was glad someone thought so, and that that someone was Kurumi.
Still holding the small now-open package in one hand, she gave Kurumi a hug. "Thank you, Kurumi. For the gift and your kind words. I'll cherish it always." Pulling away, still smiling, she added, "And just so you know, I've always really admired you." Who wouldn't admire and look up to Kurumi though?

"Hey, it's been good, it sure has flown by! How about you?" she replied as Nicki sat down. And, again, as per usual continued to eat the delicious feast in front of her. "Here, try some of this!" She added pushing some sort of cassarole toward her friend.

"everything packed?"
Annabeth smiled as she saw Sam make his way towards her, she would miss him, but they would see each other soon anyway. She wanted to stay in Hogwarts instead of going home, as she didn't actually know where 'home' was this time, there had been no arrangements, so she guessed that she would be staying with the Chases again. They HATED her and the feeling was mutual, she was not allowed to do anything!
Brushing all of that aside, she smiled at Sam, "Hey!" she said, then laughed, his 'he-lo' joke really hit a spot that made her giggle, "Mostly..." she said still giggling, "Sorry, about that, just that was funny!" she told Sam, "How about you, are you looking forward to going home?"

Elliot hastened to the table...she was late! Very unlike herself, really, to ever be late for ANYTHING. Ah! She hoped that NO ONE would notice...she didn't really see any of her friends, but then again, she was trying to avoid being seen. She quickly plopped down in a seat and smirked to herself in a pleased way. She felt a bit weird about this...
She was going to be a third year. She felt as if her second year had FLOWN by...and with all of the tragedy in her family...well, she couldn't say she was very sorry that it was all in the past. Third year. Old enough to go to Hogsmeade! Oh, how her father would be so proud of her. Well, hopefully.
She glanced around the table, shaking her sentimental thoughts from her head as she tried to look for some nice salad.

Jayden sighed, searching for any sign of Elliot, Nate, Jez, or Cael. Suddenly, a flash of lace appeared, followed by Elliot, who appeared to be... sneaking into the Great Hall. "OYE! ELLIOT!" Jayden bellowed, waving Elliot over to the spot she had saved for her friends. Hopefully calling Elliot out wasn't going to be too embarrassing for the girl.

Jordan was talking to some other students when he heard the cry from a very familiar voice, his head popped up over the crowds of students to look and wave at Jayden. "OI! JAYDEN!" he yelled, sprinting over to the girl, "3rd year here we come!" he wooped.

Elliot halted her search for salad when she heard that utterly annoyingly familiar voice...Jayden. Who else could it be, hmm?
The blonde quickly trudged over to take a seat next to her friend. She shot the girl a smirk and laughed. "So...were you able to wash all of the dirty lake water from that hair of yours? Since you insisted to jump in..." she rolled her eyes. Elliot had NOT wanted to get her pretty hair wet...it would make her feel gross!
She heard a boy yelling Jayden's name and merely scoffed in his direction. How utterly rude it was to yell in a public place...people really needed to learn manners. Including Jayden...but Elliot would chide her another time.

Jayden had just been calling out to Elliot when Jordan called out to her. She hadn't seen him in ages! "Jordan! Oh Merlin! It's been forever! How are you?" She shrieked, tackling Jordan before sitting back down at the table. "Come! Sit down! There's room!"

"Yes. I was able to get the water out, thank you Elliot." Jayden sighed, rolling her eyes. "So what are your plans for the summer, Miss Morganzo?"

Elliot searched for a glass of iced tea as she replied, "Oh, father mentioned something about a business trip. I think he wants to start me on the path he has taken..." she said, trying to sound too eager or anything. but who was she kidding, she was SMILING so wide that she was certain the person sitting on the other side of the room could see her bright grin. She chuckled gleefully, and reached over Jayden to grab a glass of tea. "So I'll be busy for the first month of vacation. But after that, I' free...you should come over. You and Dani would get along..." she added, rolling her blue eyes. She missed her sisters, though. "And you'll adore little Sam..."
And then, the girl's eyes got wide. "WAIT! Jayden, I COMPLETELY FORGOT! While I was...away... my mother told me...well, she heard that your mother was-pregnant!" she said, a little breathless with the excitement of gossip. She couldn't say she was particularly happy for the girl...she knew she would be absolutely horrified in the same situation. "Oh Jayden..you poor dear..." she said, touching her glass to her lips. Her eyes sparkled in excitement...for once, something bad was happening to someone other than herself.
Hmph.

Pam sat down, not really paying attention to what was going on. She was nervous. This could be the last feast she attends. The end of term feast ment it was the end of Hogwarts for this term, and the end to her safety. Jez had told her that they were going to stay with her uncle, but she was really worried to what that could mean. If Jared knew where the house was, going there was pointless. It'd just be easier for them to hide around in Diagon Alley. But living in the streets was not something Pam would enjoy.

"I know its gone so fast." nicki said imageing the term. " it was fun and good." it bets going to muggle school nicki thought to herself
oh Morgen she remebered " okay. i am trusting you." she laughed
nicki ate some of the Cassarole that she put on her plate. " i can wait to next term getting away from my sister and we wont be the knew ones." she said although she did like being knew because everyone was nice to her well almost everyone. " anyway i was thinking about dieing my hair next term do you think i should." she said she had asked because she couldnt make up her mind.
A light laugh appeared in Sam's face. . . . . .
"going home yes. . .and I think that you're gonna visit you beloved uncle as well.. . ."
May be this isn't a good joke. .Sam realised it bit later. But nobody can take back what ever has told already. .
" I'm sorry. . . Sometimes I dont know where or when to not to make fun. . Hope you dont mind. . ."
Now. . all he need is to change the topic.
" too bad. . We lost again. .hopefully this time not to Slytherin. . I'm taking about house cup.. . -but I'm tired of being in the second place. Anyway I'm bit ashamed of myself . . I couldn't help our house with points. ." .
Annabeth felt her face drop, she only wished that she was to be going home to her uncle, but he died last year, she realised that it she mustn't have told Sam about it, "Well, no, my uncle died last year, I am now supposed to be living with my next door neighbours, the Chases. They hate me, and I'm not actually sure if I am going to theirs this time or if I am to live in a care home." She felt really bad about not telling Sam earlier, and was pleased when he changed the topic.
"Maybe next year we will win! Hopefully anyway! I didn't contribute to the points either this year, but next year will be different!" she said to him, and a smile came back to her face.
. . .Trust. . . .NO. . . One. . . . . . . .I can love you . . .

He really was upset. . .living with her neighbours. . .who knows what kind of a people live there. If they treat her badly. .? Suddenly. . An brilliant idea came to his mind
" hey Beth why dont you come with me to my place.? I never had a friend in my place. . .actually I didn't have any friends either . . Before you came to me back then in the pathway.. My parents would be so happy to see you. They were so worried about me for not having friends. .but when I told about you. . -they were happy. . Specially my Mom. .and my sister. .who is of course named BETH.. . .what you say?. . All I have to do is send an owl??"
He looked directly at her eyes to find out her expressions.

Kurumi tugged on the sleeve of her robes nervously while she waited for Vashti to open the gift. It was a little odd for the Gryffindor to be giving her something in the first place, seeing as they really had not spoken all that much. Out of the older prefects, Treyen was really the only one she spoke to on an almost daily basis. Vashti probably thought that she was a little odd, but at least she wasn't showing it right now.
Seeing the Head Girl's smile made her feel a little better and she relaxed her shoulders a bit. "Y-Y-You have?" Kurumi could hardly believe that, an older student looking up, erm, down, erm, whatever towards a younger student.
