The glittering night sky is clear and visible through the enchanted ceiling, and the floating candles bedeck the entire hall in a warm golden light. All seems well with the world, aside from the empty plates still waiting for food to appear.
"Oh. Then you should really try.." Yeah, things like that take a lot of tries for one to really appreciate it. That was her exact case with the subject Herbology last term too. "Uhm, yeah. But I was only a reserve." She answered when Gwen asked her if she made the Quidditch House Team last term. She could still remember the times where the whole practices amidst the changing weather. And the games that they had in which they always learned various lessons and morals.
Hmmm..Those kind of stuff. "Potions are good." When they were brewing good things and when Professor Lafay would be in a good mood. "Oh. And DADA..That subject's cool but I can't seem to enjoy it." She admitted.
"Nimma kinda adopted a baby house elf which was kinda set lose on the castle last term.." She was getting too familiar with the kinda word. Anyway, where was Gwen last term? Surely she must have heard about that baby house elf that Eino suspected to be pogrebin. "And by the way, Nimma's asking the students to think of a good name for the baby house elf."
Instead of bursting into laughter as the girl said she should try, Gwen nodded and bit her lip. Don’t laugh…don’t laugh…, she kept telling herself. ‘Well…reserve is good too’, the third year said, this time not even trying to mock Beezus. I admire anyone that can keep their balance on a broom, she said, but just in case the other girl would think she’s a total mess, Gwen decided to just shut up. ‘Good luck, then’, she finally added. There- let’s change the subject.
‘Kinda?’ Gwendolyn grinned. Psh- I know what happened last term. ‘I got that’, she finally replied. Names- what kind of names? House elf names?‘Err… as in- normal names?’ I don’t really get it.‘I will think of something for that list’ After a few minutes of thinking, she started frowning. ‘I have nothing’, the Ravenclaw admitted while looking around, as if she’d get an idea.
‘Do you have any ideas?’, Gwen asked her fellow Ravenclaw. Looking back at the house elf, she remembered all the stuff that had happened last term. It was still better than the pirates thing from her first year at Hogwarts.

"Look, it doesn't matter... thanks anyway." she said, frowning slightly. Where would he BE?! "Did you um.. have a good summer?" she asked.
Oh? So he really did not write to Aurora either. "Well..have you tried writing to him?" As much as Beezus would want to know what happened to that orange feet, she just couldn't find the courage to send him a letter. She really did thought that this girl knew, she was even planning on asking her. "Why don't we sit first?" She suggested as she pulled Aurora's arm and made the girl sit on the long chair at the Ravenclaw Table. "I'm worried about him if truth be told." Talking about Mordred, one thing she could only do with Aurora.
Summer. Summer. "Yeah, I did..Spent it with Erin. You know her right?"

"I know.. But I was hoping I'd be a chaser or keeper." She added. Clearly now, Beezus could feel that this Gwen didn't like Quidditch as much as she did so she decided to drop the subject when she said her thanks after the girl bid her good luck.
"I don't really know.." She answered truthfully, house elf names were a bit complicated than human names. "Errr..maybe they'd like a cute name? That's...normal for them?" But then again, what was normal for the house elves? How would a human know? Hmm...Speaking of which, a human that's ultra close with house elves, she could only think of Kurumi so Beezus made it a mental note to ask the Prefect for some suggestions later.
"I'll try thinking it over." Yeah, pretty much that. Maybe she could find a suitable name of the baby house elf in the Trophy Room? That was where she found a name for her Charms egg last term, Quiglee.
Clapping her hands again as the sorting hat announced another fellow Ravenclaw, the third year heard someone talking, possibly to her. Turning her head towards the other student, Gwen saw a younger girl. ‘Hi. Nice to meet you…’, she started saying and gave a smirk. ‘I’m Gwen, by the way. Gwen Greene’, the girl added while extending her hand.
Aaaand- I don’t think I’ve seen her around before, she thought while glimpsing quickly towards the sorting hat. ‘Second year?’ Hmm- just taking a shot.
Now- back to my pumpkin juice, she thought, but suddenly turned her head to her left. Looking at the girl who was addressing her, Gwen couldn’t tell if they had met before. Probably not… but I wouldn’t like to be rude (yet) by making her feel unimportant.‘Hi’, she replied and gave a crocket smile. ‘I don’t think so…’, she started saying. ‘But I think I’ve seen you around’, she felt the need to add while trying to remember her name. Nope. No name that I can reacll.
‘Well, I’m Gwen’, she grinned. Then, the third year looked back at the Sorting Ceremony. Noticing some first years coming to their house table, she really hoped those were the acceptable ones. ‘If they got into Ravenclaw they must have some brains…’, she mumbled.
‘Hmm?’, Gwen said while turning around to see who called her. Surprised to spot Luna there, the third year didn’t quite know how to start talking to her. It was true, in the last couple of years, she had been pretty rude to Luna, although she wasn’t necessarily one of the people she disliked. She was all right, for all Gwen cared. ‘Hello’, the ravie nodded and smirked to the girl, while noticing how hard she must have tried to smile. Really trying not to laugh at the girl’s facial expression (which was indeed priceless!), she added: ‘Are you all right?’
‘My summer was great’Best one so far. ‘I have been traveling with my parents and also met with some friends.’, she said, but didn’t wish to add any of the details, which would probably just bore Luna. ‘How about you?’, the Ravenclaw asked.
She found it quite hard to start a conversation with her, without winding her up but Gwen wasn't doing anything today not even to firsties! A change of heart maybe? But the possibiltys of her just... Playing or acting today were also high... She didn't to act it was... odd! ''Am I alright? , I'm.. peachy,'' she replied, 'Peachy'? She had no idea where that same from!
She looked down at her own plate empty it looked sad... Well as sad as a plate can be sad... That wasn't very sad was it?''Nice... Seems fun,'' and normel! 'Cause she was traveling that's why it was normel she wasn't in the drama zone better known as diagon alley or Hogwarts.... Her summer quite the exact oppisite ''Alright...'' she replied and looked down at her plate again to show she had lost interest in the subject
"I'm well thank you and how about you?" Katie asked smiling.
Katie nodded, just as she thought! "I betcha he likes you back, but really deep in him he thinks that, one day he will be like 'Tay, will you go out with me?' and BAM!" Katie giggled. "Hey if you see him, point me out to him kay?" Katie smiled, she would like to meet the boy one day and see who she is actually talking about. "Nooo, Your not...." Katie stopped in the middle and pretended she was asleep because of boredom, "Just kidding! Nah, your not boring me" She laughed.
"Oh he doesn't." She twirled her braids, Oh but how i wish.... She giggled at the whole one day thing, "Will do." She smiled and nodded, she glanced over at the gryffindor table to see if she could point him out but he wasn't there. Taylor looked back at the girl, Did she really just fallen asleep? It took Taylor a moment to realized that she was joking. Taylor smiled and laughed at the joke.
Still walking, Nessie noticed that Joanna, just like Alec was also looking at herself in the silverwear. Was it like a new thing people did? Maybe thats why there wasn't any food on the plate. Nessie couldn't help but giggle as she watched Joanna check herself out in the silverwear. Nessie had a mirror that she kept with her all the time, just incase she needed it to check if she looked okay. Either way, today she didn't care how bad she looked she was tired and hungry and until that got sorted out she wouldn't care about her appearance, not unless it was important.
Nessie giggled as Joanna shouted back to her. It really had been long since the last time they had seen eachother, and it was good to see Jo Jo again. Now that Ness thought of it, strangely so most of her good friends were all fourth years, which sort of made sense seeing as she was more or less the same age as them. In a few months time she'd be fourteen, which was pretty scary to Ness. As much as she loved her birthday and as much as she loved parties, she didn't like ageing very much. "I've missed you so much." she told Joanna whilst a smile started forming on her face.
The smile from earler immidiately turned into a straight face. Summer..was a pretty common topic today, and as much as Ness had been trying to avoid it all the time it just kept on coming back again and again. "I've erm..been..erm..away." It wasn't the best answer, but it was the only way Ness could hide where she really was without having to lie. "How about you?" she asked attempting to put the smile back on her face.
Seriously, did she just giggle. Joanna was searching for her friend all summer, even with muggle social networks (it's probably humiliating for wizards to have muggle social network), and Nessie simply giggled, it was no laughing matter! Hmph! "Joe. Stop exaggerating!" the Ravenclaw thought to herself, from calm and peaceful Ravenclaw she turned in one second into a over-emotional Ravenclaw... all because of her friend. Oh well, it's the way of life.
Suddenly, Joanna realised that Nessie's face turned from happy and excited to very serious. Probably she didn't enjoy the summer, so Joanna shouldn't probably mention the summer holidays. "Away," Joanna thought to herself, "probably she wasn't in England, so maybe her vacation didn't go so well, as she wanted it to."
"Oh... My holiday was great," the fourth year began, "I was on a week vacation, at San Fransisco, and the rest of the summer I spent at home, in Alaska." Yep, it was another normal summer. Joanna smiled back, asking another question, "Are you excited. For another year here?" Joanna already knows how she feels about another year. EXCITED!

‘Mind if I join you?’, Gwen smirked and was ready to take a seat at the table, next to her friend. ‘Sooo… what are you up to?’
Joanna eventually got bored from the sorting ceremony, so she simply sat on the wooden benched and looked around the vast hall, with her arms crossed. While looking and examining the hall, Joanna heard someone shout her name. Joanna turned around, eager to know who it was. She had a guess but she wasn't quite sure... Yes. It was Gwen.
Oh... How much she had missed that smirk, that was always on her friends face. Joanna moved a bit making space for Gwen. "Oh my god, I missed you so much," the fourth year said grinning, letting out her hand with palm facing up, as a gesture for a 'high-five'. "Me. I'm not up to anything bad, unless being over excited is a bad thing. But... I am looking forward to hang-out with my friend." Oh... words can't describe how glad she is to meet Gwen again.
This summer while Joanna was bored, she made a list of nicknames for nickname-less friends. For Gwen she had about five, put she has a few more names to add to the list, and at the end of the day, when she and Gwen shall be in the common room together, Gwen will have a nickname. Oh... that will so much fun!

At least, they've got all the time now to know each other deeply.
Fiddling with her fingers, Joanna heard once again the name 'JoJo'. Wow she was popular at this feast. This time Erin. Shame they didn't have time to know each other at the train, when they met, it was only a few minutes before they arrived at Hogwarts, and then... they lost each other.
"Hey," the Ravenclaw said with a wide friendly grin, moving a bit to the side, making space for Erin. "So how's Hogwarts so far?" she asked. She didn't remember telling Erin, that she was a transfer, so she doesn't know if this is also Erin's second year (assuming she isn't a second year).
OOC: Eeep!!! I didn't expect so many replies!!! Just wanted to you that the replies are at different times! (:
...not feeling much like celebrating. Louisa frowned at that. "Umm. Okay." Not that the music was blasting and the people were hip-hopping but... she got the idea. And after burying the word so deep, he just disclosed it so easily. The L word! Louisa's hand was on his arm quickly, "Don't do this, now." The last-year speech and the sullen face. This was meant for the night before the End of Term feast, THEIR anniversary. "It's too early. Just focus on something happy." She took her hand away and glanced frantically around. Where was this girlfriend of his when Louisa needed her?
But the boy was not planning on remaining silent, clearly. Louisa's eyes widened in surprise as he talked of Ravenclaw to Autumn. Smart, awesome common room, great Quidditch, and... attractive. He seemed quite serious about this too.
A moment of awkward silence followed before Louisa forced a chuckle out, wrapped one arm around one of his and gave him a meaningful look, "As well as all the houses, of course." What the heck was he trying to do? The firsties, particularly in their first day, should think this was a happy place with four equal houses. Which it was.. except for a few bad spirited students, but those weren't a problem. "He's our house campaigner." She added, smiling at Lily and Autumn.
Slightly squeezing his arm as a warning, she continued, her eyes not leaving the boy's face, "And that didn't affect you at all! You were a happy muggleborn student just like any pureblood or halfblood ones. Right Dallin?" Firstie's confidence is at risk here, work with me, that was what the girl meant to transfer to her friend through... staring.
Feeling Louisa's hand on his arm, Dallin blinked in surprise. Do what now? Dallin frowned, trying to figure out what she meant. Then he got it. It's too early. She didn't want him talking about this being his last year of school? Well. It was true. But if she didn't want to talk about it... then he wouldn't. "Sorry," he mumbled.
Then her arm was around his and she was looking at him. Dallin looked down at the fifth year, raising his eyebrows. As well as the other houses. If he wanted to say that, he would have said it first. He eyed Louisa for a second before understanding what she was doing. Teaching first years that every house was good and that they should love them all. Well. "Yeah, the other ones are good too." That was all she was getting out of him, though, at the moment. And he would ignore the house campaigner bit.
He frowned a little when she squeezed his arm. And then almost laughed. Because she was reminding him of back when she liked him and he didn't know she did. He didn't laugh though. It wasn't exactly the appropriate time to bring something like that into the conversation.
"Oh yeah," he answered, pulling his eyes away from Louisa's stare. "I wasn't affected at all. I even passed all my classes and got good grades on my OWLs." And he was going to pass his NEWTs and everything. He was quite confident. "Blood status doesn't matter." There, some actual constructive advice for the youngins. "It just matters how seriously you take school and classes and grades. You'll be fine." He ended this with a smile. His first smile of the night.
"Oh. Thank you." Violet blushed. "Most of my family is in Ravenclaw and they were hoping I was in the house too." Violet settled down to eat.
"Are you excited for the classes this year? I can't wait for transfiguration and charms. By the looks, one of my favourite classes."
"Your welcome." sHe smiled, "Oh cool.... my family is spilt between Hufflepuff and Ravenclaw." She laughed. "I'm excited for Potions and Astrolomy." She nodded.
"Yeah, my brother is the only one and he's a baby. like less than a year old. He takes up all of my parents' time, so I guess it's good to have me out of the house for a while." yeah, cause when I get back he will be at least a year old. Lily said and thought.
"I kinda figured that they would have to describe the classes once we got here." Lily answered, looking around to see what the other first years were doing. "History of magic sounds kinda like muggle history that I've taken for years. But Charms sounds neat. What kind of stuff do you do in Charms? oh and what class do you think is the hardest?" Lily paused trying to guess which class Louisa thought was hardest.
Lily saw Louisa talking to the boy next to her after he had joined into the conversation. 'And that didn't affect you at all! You were a happy muggleborn student just like any pureblood or halfblood ones. Right Dallin?'
Lily smiled shyly when she said this because now the boy, who didn't look to happy, was looking at her and joining their conversation. This is kinda what I was afraid of, coming to someplace I didn't know. Everyone joins everyone else's conversations...I guess I have to get used to it. Lily thought to herself, her bottom lip trembling.

A baby brother? That sounded quite cool. "I have two younger brothers, too. Just not as young as yours." Louisa offered the girl a small smile. It was the parents being stupidly wrong by giving their daughter the idea that being out of the house for a while would be a good idea. UGH, how Louisa wished to rid the world of all stupid adults - starting with her own. "Nah, I'm sure your mother will miss you. You did help her a bit with the baby, right?" Louisa used to take care of her brothers... when Jason didn't order her to stay away from his sons. And oh! Classes, Louisa's favorite subject. "Charms is the most interesting subject, I think. You learn about spells; incantations, wand movements and how to properly use your wand in general." Yep. Better not mentioning Louisa's first attempt at using her wand back when she was a firstie. Hehe.
Inspecting the little girl's face closely, Louisa was slightly confused at the sudden nervousness and... did her lip just tremble? And why was she looking down now? As if on cue, Dal was responding just as he was expected to. And even if he didn't elaborate on the houses bit, he did emphasize on the blood status in Hogwarts which Louisa found very clever of him. Letting go of his arm at last, she swallowed a laugh at his play-along show.
"Oh, how stupid of me. I'm sorry I didn't introduce you two," Louisa announced a bit more excitedly than usual, "Dallin, this is my new friend Lily, she's just been sorted into Ravenclaw." Duuuh, she's also the one I'm about to babysit for the year. With a mused look on her face, Louisa turned to look at the sheepishly silent girl, "Lily, this is Dallin, my close friend. He might look tall and scary, but behind those active eyebrows lies a fine young man." BAHAHAHA.
Now to see the little girl's reaction. Louisa thought this was the first step of getting out of her shell. Although introducing herself to a graduate student, when she was only eleven, was a bit daring. OH WELL.

Violet nodded. "Yeah. Potions seems to be really interesting too!" as she took a bite into her salad. It was absolutely delicious. "Say, will you be joining the quidditch team? I hear it's absolutely amazing."
Tate stood. "Students. I'd like to welcome you once again to Hogwarts for another exciting term. For those who read the Daily Prophet, you may have seen that we are celebrating an exciting anniversary this term, and your staff has been hard at work with some events that will help us feel the true spirit of all that Hogwarts has to offer. If you'd like to help us celebrate or you have any additional idea, please feel free to share them with me via owl."
With a gesture, Tate pointed out the new staff members spread out along the table. "We would like to welcome some new faces to the staff table, as well as the new faces we are welcoming to each house table. Please do not inundate their office with greetings, but I hope you will make them very welcome in the coming weeks. Remember what it is like to be new and offer them all your support."
And now... almost time to eat? "I don't have much more to say this term, aside from the usual... don't die. Eat your vegetables. Write to your parents, because they miss you. And... be kind to each other. We're all in this together. As you begin your meal, I'd like to invite Nimma the house elf to speak to you briefly." He figured they could now eat AND listen.
Silvia turned toward the staff table when the Headmaster called for the students’ attention. She hadn’t read the Daily Prophet so she didn’t know what was going on, but it sounded like it would be a good year.
When the Headmaster sat back down, Silvia caught something out of the corner of her eye and turned back to look at the table. Food had appeared on the platters and bowls that were empty just moments before. “Finally!” she said. There was so much food she wasn’t sure what to try first; it all looked really good. She decided to start with a piece of roast chicken and some potatoes.
First, Eino chuckled at Erin's joke, then he remembered he had a different name and got a little serious. He had known for a year and still felt terrible for hiding it. He really wanted to talk to someone about it, and he would have talked to Professor Bentley if he had not made her drink that Hate Potion. He sighed, then looked back at Erin and smiled, as Cornelius had instructed him to, with some teeth showing. He didn't want to make her feel uncomfortable. "I suppose so. You do? Oh, that is fantastic, and what is it?"
Eino nodded as Cornelius elaborated on his education to indicate that the was listening attentively. With each nod, his bangs bounced off his forehead high in the air, then slowly fell back down. His eyes moved from Cornelius' eyes to his ear, to his mouth, to the person sitting behind him, to the candles illuminating the hall, to Sierra -- his eyes widened -- and quickly back to Cornelius. He relaxed his eyes and stiff shoulders, but didn't want to sigh in fear he would demonstrate boredom. He was quite interested in Cornelius background story, it was just that the she-Snake made him just a little nervous.
As Cornelius conclude a brief recount of his childhood, Eino noticed that Cornelius had mentioned his mum was a witch, but never mentioned his father. Eino opened his mouth to ask but quickly closed it. He had a "father" he wouldn't want to come up in a conversation, so maybe Cornelius did, too. Not that Eino was mindful of awkwardness and awkward moments, but Cornelius just seemed very happy, and it would be awful to say anything that would evoke any bad memories. "You will have not one problem fitting in. Most of the students are very nice, although some are not quite aware of the pogrebin threat we are facing, and others choose to ignore it." He glanced over his shoulder at the staff table then back at Cornelius. He wasn't going to turn this into a one-on-one orientation. He could let him know about the staff members later. With any luck, the two of them would be taking the same classes.
When Cornelius repeated what he had previously said, Eino hands flew from the bench and pressed themselves against the boy's mouth. Wide eyed, Eino looked at her but she seemed occupied talking to... a boy?! Who was that? Eino extended his neck and squinted his eyes in attempts to recognize the boy she was talking to, but he couldn't. He looked away, then looked back, then quickly looked back at Cornelius. He didn't know what to say. Awkward silence, and finally, with perfect timing, Headmaster Tate officially initiates the feast. Eino turned to the man without saying anything to Cornelius, hoping he would not have noticed anything. Of course, Cornelius would have to be blind to not have seen anything. A possibility Eino considered. So, Eino turned around and waved his hand right in front of his face, and by judging by his reaction, yes, he could see. Eino turned back to the headmaster and hoped for the best.
Cornelius immediately saw that after a while of listening, Eino's gaze was drifting to...something. Or...someone. And he didn't mind; in fact, he was finding it pretty amusing that this polite student found something over his shoulder so interesting. But he didn't mention it then, continuing the conversation.
"Pogrebin threat?" Cornelius repeated, obvious confusion in his expression as Eino explained what the rest of the students were like around Hogwarts. That most were nice, but many weren't aware of the...pogrebin threat. He'd never even heard of whatever that was, and made a mental note to ask Eino about it later. He had to make that mental note because in the next moment he didn't have the chance to ask him, finding Eino's hands pressed against his mouth.
"OI!" Cornelius just barely got out before his mouth was completely covered, eyes widening as his gaze turned to Eino, looking for answers. But Eino wasn't even looking at the boy who was seriously considering biting him, which made Cornelius calm a bit, realizing this wasn't an assault or anything. He followed the Prefect's gaze over to a more green table, and caught sight of a girl! And judging by the way Eino was staring at her and evaluating the boy she was talking to, he really liked her.
In the next moment, Eino had released his hold on his mouth, and Cornelius was immediately grinning, letting out a, "Eino and a lady!" he repeated his previous statement, changing it a bit for the current situation. Grinning from ear to ear with this new knowledge, Cornelius listened to the Headmaster's speech, which was thankfully surprisingly short. And in the moment following, Cornelius had whipped back around to look at Eino, only then finding Eino's hand in his face yet again. "Oi!" he grumbled playfully once again, shoving Eino's hand away and showing off his grin, raising his eyebrows up and down and up and down in a silent acknowledgement of Eino's affections for this Slytherin girl. "You have a thing for her!" he pointed out obviously, giving Eino's arm a bit of a kind-hearted shove, before turning his gaze over to the girl in question. "Wow. She is quite something..." Cornelius muttered before realizing his own words and jumping slightly. "For you, that is." He flashed him a grin. Normally, Cornelius would have possibly flirted with her in another situation, but now that he knew Eino had a thing for her...He was totally dedicated to the Eino-and-this-Slytherin-girl-together-thing!
Jez discreetly slipped into the Great Hall and made her way to the Ravenclaw table. She sat down next to the rest of the second-years and helped herself to food. "Hi," she said to the table at large through a mouthful of chicken. "What dic I miss?" She didn't paused to say anything more but kept on eating, feeling suddenly ravenous. Blame it on the train ride.

Two words from that speech really stuck out to Nate: "Don't die". He didn't plan on it, but apparently Team Wolf did...
Jordan smiled at Jez, "Hey Jez where have you been?" he asked, he should be back with the Gryffindors some time soon... But there was no rush was there? He decided to echo Pam and Nate, "Yeah Nate fainted, it could or could not have been travel sickness... He's fine now you see."

OH WELL.
Lily smiled back at Louisa. They shared one thing in common, they both had at least one younger brother. "How old are your brothers?" she asked. "My mom only let me do small things to help with my brother, like take care of the stinky diapers." Lily scrunched up her nose, remembering back. "She would let me feed him occasionally, and sit and play with him on the floor. but that's about it. I spend most of my time out in the neighborhood with my friends back home." with this Lily started to tear up a little(just enough to gloss over her eyes.) She hadn't told anyone this much about home before, and just thinking about her muggle friends was enough to push her to the verge of crying. It wasn't easy being new, or shy, and being homesick didn't help. Talking about school did help though. Lily had always been a bright student. Drying her eyes, Lily responded, "Charms sounds like a fun class. and useful too."
Lily heard the Headmaster get up and start speaking. Once he was done, the food appeared and Lily looked around, and started to put some food on her plate when a weird looking creature(house elf) appeared at the staff table and started talking. It was talking about a baby house elf. "What is that creature talking about?" She asked Louisa once the elf had disappeared.
When Louisa introduced the boy to her, Lily stopped looking down and instead studied the boy's face. He doesn't seem so bad she thought, so Lily stuck her hand out to shake the boy's hand, like she had seen her father do lots of times. "Nice to meet you, Dallin." she said quietly. It helped to have someone there that she started to trust, after all, Louisa was accepting and kind to Lily, so why not trust her.
EXCITED!
Puting back on her smile, Nessie was gratefull that Joanna stopped asking questions about her summer. It wasn't a topic that needed to be talked about for now. As Nessie listened to what Joanna had that summer, she smiled even more. It was good to know that at least somone at Hogwarts had enjoyed there summer.
San Fransisco? Nessie had never been there, but she knew it was in America which was where Ness had always dreamed of going. "Wow that must have been amazing." she said trying to picture what San Fransisco was like. "You live in Alaska?" asked Ness a little surprised. She had never really met someone that lived in Alaska and it sounded like quite an interesting place.
Biting her lips, Ness hesitated how to answer Joanna's question. Yes she was excited, but she was also nervous. Her last two years hadn't been the bestand so she was hoping her third would be better, but she could never be certain. "I don't know, I have mixed feelings about this year." she said truthfully. "How about you?" she asked.

So, Jez, where have you been?" he asked as he began filling his plate with the food that had appeared after Tate's very concise speech. Two words from that speech really stuck out to Nate: "Don't die". He didn't plan on it, but apparently Team Wolf did...

Jez was still destroying a chicken drumstick when Pam and Nate announced that he had fainted. She choked, grabbing a napkin. When the coughing had stopped, she stared up at her three friends. "You what? What was that about?" She wanted information, so she waved away Nate's question about her recent whereabouts. "Around, you know me. Seriously, what happened? And what's with the house-elf up near the staff table?" Jez glanced around the table, wondering if Jayden was still angry with her.

Dallin fell silent as the girls started talking about family and stuff. He didn't totally want to butt in their conversation. He would just listen quietly. Or try to not listen. Or something. But that idea didn't last long because they started talking about Charms. "That's my favorite class," he said, his voice surprisingly cheerful. And it had been his favorite since his first year of school.
Then he was being introduced to the first year. He raised his eyebrows at what Louisa said about his 'active eyebrows' - only proving the truth behind her words - and then turned his attention to the smaller girl. Lily. "Nice to meet you too, Lily," he said with a light chuckle as he shook her hand. "Welcome to Hogwarts." It seemed like his bad mood was starting to fade; he was able to actually be genuine as he welcome the girl to Hogwarts. Nice.
And - oh. The Headmaster's speech. And a house elf! Dallin felt himself grinning as the little thing talked. The baby hadn't been given a name yet? "We get to choose the name?" Maybe he hadn't heard right... or misunderstood. But that sounded fun!

Pam was eagerly eating away when Jez asked worried questions. She washed down her food with pumpkin juice, and wiped her mouth. "He said he wasn't feeling good. Did you eat or drink anything today? Outside of my house I mean." She said, that last question for Nate. If not, that ment it had to have come from her house. And they didn't have much of her mom's cooking today, so it wouldn't have been that.

"I'm not sure how the fainting occured to be honest, I turned up afterwards." Jordan shrugged, "And I again have no idea about that house elf too, sorry I'm not the most reliable source for information right now." he listened to his rumbling stomach and decided to help himself to food too, grabbing a plate and filling it with drumsticks too.
Violet nodded. "Yeah. Potions seems to be really interesting too!" as she took a bite into her salad. It was absolutely delicious. "Say, will you be joining the quidditch team? I hear it's absolutely amazing."
"I absolutlely love potions." She smiled, "I would love to join the team though i fear i will be a disappointment." She frowned slightly. Taylor loved playing quidditich and is good at flying but she dont think she is. "What about you?" She smiled.

Louisa chucked at the stinky diapers thing. She had her share of those, although Jason offered to help most of the time making witty comments and funny faces at the smell. Heh, it was funny how drastic people could change. The fifteen years old noticed the gleam in Lily's eyes, she supposed it was the mention of her old friends. Politely, the older girl busied herself with the food to give Lily some time. That was what Louisa would've wanted from people if she was swallowing tears back.
And it proved to be a success! Lily shook Dal's hand and was not blushing anymore. With a sarisfied and rather smug smile Louisa nodded her head at Dallin, "Yes. Imagine that? We're to name the baby house elf that caused havoc last term." She scoffed. Turning her head to Lily, she explained briefly, "That is a house elf. Her name is Nimma and she, among others, is responsible of keeping Hogwarts clean and the students served well," beginning from the top here, "Last year, they found a baby house elf in the rubbish bins. Or so they said." Louisa shot a look at where Nimma had stood and made her speech, "The baby was... into antics and whatnot. But he's not scary." The fifth year student left out her desire to take him to a lab and inspect him and went on with her tale, "The students helped finding him when he got lost. And now the house elves are asking for our help once again." Which was... interesting. Tate had given them way too much liberty.
Sipping from her pumpkin juice, Louisa started scooping from her pudding when she suddenly turned her attention back to Dallin, "Where is Ellie?" HMM?

Jez nodded, shuffling over to make room for the Gryffindor and his rumbling tummy. "I hear 'Claw food's better," she said under her breath, so only Jordan could hear. Her voice returned to it's normal volume when she said, "I'll bet it's from food deprivation." She fixed Nate with a royally stern Look. "Remember last term? You went crazy over lack of food!" She ruined the effect of the Look by giggling, remembering the End of Term feast.
