The glittering night sky is clear and visible through the enchanted ceiling, and the floating candles bedeck the entire hall in a warm golden light. All seems well with the world, aside from the empty plates still waiting for food to appear.

Taylor looked up when she heard her name. It was a Hufflepuff first year.... she reconginzed her a little bit.... Crap what was her name? Taylor racked her brain for the girl's name and to cover up her blonde moment, "Hey congrats on getting into Hufflepuff...Jordan?" She smiled but said the last part a little questioningly.

Just the older brother that followed her around, making sure she'd stay out of harm's way. So, I was always indirectly involved with the jokes."

His stomach chose that moment to grumble. Merlin, he was hungry. "Yes, it is nice to meet you as well. Where's the food?"

Surprised that Taylor remembered her name from their brief meeting on the train.
"Yea... right, it great. And you.. a Ravenclaw, Awesome. So do you know what classes your going to be taking this term?"

Taylor smiled, "All of them except flying." She laughed, "Since i don't need a review on flying and it is mainly going to be first years anyways..... though the teacher is my head of house." She smirked slightly, "What about you?"

A sister? Okay, that was weird, Erin was thinking about a brother but anyways, "Gryffindor," she muttered. It would not be Kurumi Hollingberry for sure, because she had been here before Erin could even set foot in Hogwarts. Good thing that was. "Now, I'll say I wanted to meet this prankster of a sister," she chuckled. So, he was the brother to make sure that the sister wouldn't get into trouble. Nice! Whatever she does, the brother would be her hero. Oh, such a nice brother. "So, don't you wanna join her? It's a fun thing to do, you know."

The food. "I am afraid to tell you that it won't come out as soon as the Headmaster gives his welcoming speech." As a first year, she was also very disappointed because the food came so late, thank God, someone offered her a Chocolate Frog. She reached for her small pink beaded bag and gave Julien a licorice wand, "It's all I've got for now," she extended her hand towards him. And that was the time, Headmaster Tate started to give his speech.

"Do I...what?" she stammered, perplexed by his sudden subject change, but she quickly gathered her thoughts. "I don't really know much about it," she admitted, blushing slightly. "I met the Hufflepuff Quidditch Captain on the train though and he told me a bit." She was happy to have at least something to say so she didn't sound like a complete magical airhead. "It sounds interesting. I'm looking forward to seeing a match. Hopefully Ravenclaw has a good team..." It would suck for the first Quidditch game she ever saw to be her house getting creamed.

Micheal walks over to the Ravenclaw table from the Gryffindor table as he sees a familiar face. He sneaks up behind Jordan, and covers her eyes mid conversation. "Gues who?? he says trying to change his voice higher a couple octaves hoping to throw her off. Jordan had been a friend of his from before school, and he was excited to see she was there. He had known she was suppose to come to Hogwarts, but to see her here was kinda of surreal. They had been best friends, and he was hoping that they would continue that friendship.

Taylor hemmed and hawed for a few seconds, "I don't really know, this is my first year here." She smiled slightly, "I transferred from Beauxbaton so i was going to follow my twin sister since she went here last year and we are in the same house so we have the same classes...." Taylor trailed off then picked up again, "But i have been studying a map of the castle and grounds on the train." She paused what she was saying and opened her bag. Taylor digged through the bag and took out a map. She handed the map to the girl, "Here, maybe this will help you. Sorry."

Conrad could tell his question had confused her somewhat. No, I just saw you look at the ceiling, so I looked at the ceiling because I wondered what you were looking at, and I saw the sky with a bunch of stars in it, which made me think of flying in the dark, which I always thought would be fun, which I have to actually learn to fly first though, which means I have to get a broom." Conrad paused for breath. "But my dad says I'm not old enough yet. I've always wanted to fly," he confessed. "And play Quidditch. My favorite position is Beater."

He realized he'd been rambling and quickly brought himself back to Earth. "Anyway that's why I asked you about Quidditch. Sorry if it was weird..."

Melanie blinked rapidly. "Um..." Wow that was a lot of information! "I've never been flying either," she said, although this barely scratched the surface of his comments.

"I didn't exactly grow up knowing people could even really fly on broomsticks, let alone ponder what Quidditch position I preferred." She realized she was letting her half-blood show, but what the hey, it was bound to come up sometime. She couldn't pretend to understand what was going on all the time.

"I suppose though, if I could fly," she said listlessly, "flying at night would be quite...enchanting." She gazed longingly back up at the starry ceiling, wishing she could float up to it right that very moment.

Julien grinned. "We're fraternal twins," he decided to clarify. "Twins don't have to be the same gender." He was used to having to explain the situation. Most people assumed that when he said twins, he was talking about another male.

Oh, what was this? Licorice?

"Er, thank you." He took the licorice from her. "I'm afraid that I haven't got anything for you. How about an i.o.u?"

Micheal removes his hands from jordan's eyes, "Hey, how you doing? You made it into Hufflepuff, congrats. I'm in Gryffindor. soooooo, why are you here at the Ravenclaw table??? Micheal opens his arms for a hug, and embraces Jordan tight, trying to give her a bear hug. "So who is this?? Micheal asks, extending his hand to the stranger sitting in front of Jordan. "My name is Micheal." Suddently Micheal hears the voice from his table beckening for him to come and sit down. "sorry gotta go, time to sit and listen to the head master speak, i'll see you around" Micheal runs back to the Gryffindor table to take his seat.

Stunned, Jordan asked.. Is this a map of the school? and your willing to let me borrow it ? Jordan got so excited about her new friends generosity and wiliness to help that she Hugged her. Afraid that she might be squeezing the life out of her friend she jumped back, and apologized immediately. " I am sooo sorry Taylor, it's just that this is the nicest thing that anyone has ever done for me. I promise I'll bring it back. This is great." Jordan knew that she and this girl would become really good friends. "Maybe we'll have a class together."

Fraternal. That almost clarified what's inside Erin's mind. "Yes, yes," said Erin instead. "She's a Gryffindor." The twin sister may be tougher than him, whilst he was a bookworm. "So, how do you find Ravenclaw?" She was totally a loud person. "Sorry for all my questions. You may not answer if you don't want to." She glanced towards the side of the Gryffindors. "No, it's fine," she answered and then she heard him saying something about 'I.O.U'. "Definitely. You owe me one. I'll be keeping my eyes on that," smiled Erin.
