The glittering night sky is clear and visible through the enchanted ceiling, and the floating candles bedeck the entire hall in a warm golden light. All seems well with the world, aside from the empty plates still waiting for food to appear.
Logan couldn't help but blush a little. "Well, thank you!" he said, smiling as she hugged him. He hugged her back. "Oh really?" he asked. "Nice. All I've been reading about is Quidditch..." he said laughing.
He blushed again! Taylor held back her giggle but let her smile through,"your welcome, and yes." She nodded, "I'm a bit of a nerd." Probably the reason she had gotten into Ravenclaw. "Fun thing to read about, quidditch." She smiled, "I'm probably going to stick with studying and not try out for the team." Taylor doubted that she would get on the team, but oh how she would love to. Though she probably go to most of the games.
The train ride had seemed shorter than normal, or maybe it was just because Stella knew that there was going to be at least a short period of time at the feast where Matt would be at his table and she'd have to be at hers. Once things got moving, though, there was always the possibility he'd come over and join her, like he had at the end of last term. Or she could always venture over to the Slytherin table, but for now she'd left him in the entrance hall and headed inside on her own. She could survive a little while by herself, especially since there was going to be a lot more of that this time next year. She needed to talk to other people anyhow.
Walking over to the Ravenclaw table, she noticed that Marie wasn't there. Like she'd mentioned the year before, but then Stella hadn't been sure the other girl had been truly serious. It wasn't hard to convince people to let her stay at Hogwarts, or so she thought. Apparently that wasn't always true. Either way, she was determined to not just sit there and wait for Headmaster Tate to give his speech and start the actual feast. She could be independent after all, and she smiled at several of her fellow Claws as she made her way to an open seat. It seemed like there had already been some drama, but at least it looked like she'd been right in saying that the house elf situation had probably been straightened out. The silverware wasn't half as tarnished this year, and she eyed it for a moment as she sat down. Not getting buried by tapestries would be good, and so would having clean silverware. But for now it wasn't necessary, as the food hadn't arrived yet, so she took Oberon out of her pocket again after getting herself a glass of water, then let the tiny metal tiger curl up on her plate. At least she had someone to occupy her. There hadn't been any rules against charmed statuettes, after all, like the unspoken rule keeping her from bringing Lyra to the feast.
Nikolas seemed to arrive early to the Great Hall and there were only a couple of students, none of them he knew. He kept walking to his table and even though there were people he could talk to he decided to do something new and go to another table, looking over the Gryffindor one he didn't saw Jade around so he kept walking and saw someone familiar in the Ravenclaw table...maybe Marie did came back?
Walking closer to see who it was he saw it was Stella, Matt's girlfriend, and since she was alone he decided to go and talk to her. "Why so lonely?" he said with a smile while taking a seat beside her. Nikolas looked at the table and saw a...metal tiger? He eyed the creature and asked Stella, "What's that?" it definitely was better than a pygmy puff.
Elliot ignored Caelius. He could say whatever he wanted about her to stupid Jayden! And tjey were talking about her as if she wasnt even there! The utter audacity! Elliot most certainly wasn't deaf...she could hear everything!
Elliot wanted to leave. She wanted to go to her bed and write to Dani. They had been growing closer lately, and the 8 year old was actually quite wise for her age. Dani always knew how to charm people, and Elliot wished to learn this from her. She would know what to do...
But she didn't leave because she didnt want them to think that she was upset. Because she wasn't...she just didn't know what to do.
She heard that Jordan kid ask what a morganzo was....she snorted, thinking about how ignorant people were these days. When Caelius mentioned living up to her lineage, she didn't look at him. But her face turned to stone. She would not want to get in a fight with Caelius. But she would if she had to.
It looked like Elliot was in this alone. She should make a shirt that said "team Elliot ' and wear it around...it would at least be entertaining
She turned to the Taylor girl, no longer feeling much like talking, but she didn't want to be rude...
"You won't fail, Taylor. You're a ravenclaw...we don't fail. We excel," she replied with a slight chuckle

Taylor tried to hold back a laugh but couldn't, "I didn't mean held back as in failing. I never got anything below perfect before and i don't expect to." She smiled, "I meant held back as in not able to go to Egypt because of more important committments." She was getting tired of talking to Elliot, "Please pardon me but i must send my congrats to my cousin since he just got sorted into Hufflepuff." Taylor smiled and without waiting for the girl to response, got up and left to go over to the Hufflepuff table.

Basically because it separated her from her family. "However, I let myself meet other people and ended up finding a few best friends and nice, funny fellas." With a bright smile she finished.
Frankly, this was not the happy ending. Not in Louisa's case anyway. But telling that to a firstie would be rather destructive so she just settled on this happy story. "Let's start again, now." Louisa Carter was NOT this kind of girls but... she was going to do it for this kid. "Hi, I am Louisa Carter. Fifth year Ravenclaw." She looked encouragingly at the girl waiting for her to do her part.
After the girl had listened to Lily speak and then replied, Lily could tell that this girl cared, even if she didn't always show it. So Lily felt a little more confident when she replied, "Hi Louisa, I'm Lily Potter, and I'm excited to be a first year Ravenclaw, I guess. I'm at least glad to be in Ravenclaw. I think I'll be more confident and comfortable once classes start or once we get to our dorms. How many people do we share a dorm room with? Do you know?" Lily said shyly smiling back.
The young professor headed towards the Ravvie table when rumblings of a fainting student had floated towards the Staff Table. She looked up and down the table but there were so many students that she wasn't seeing anything out of the sorts. She smiled at the students and walked slowly up the table looking for the affected student nodding her head and saying hello to various students as she walked.
Nate looked up from his self-filled goblet of water as Pam and Jordan started their own conversation. No need to interrupt them, he could talk to Pam in the common room. His eyes caught something slightly amiss, though, across the table from him. "Professor Cerulean, are you looking for something?" he inquired, sitting up respectfully. After all, Muggle Studies was one of his favorite subjects. Might as well try to keep some favor with the teacher...

"Looking for someone?" James asked the pretty girl, almost laughing as she looked around. Hmmm...He had met her before hadn't he? Oh yes, Enya. Well, she was even prettier again. He smiled his winning smile. He looked away, filling his plate with food. God he was hungry. Stupid as he was, he hadn't brought any money with him so he couldn't buy any food on the train. He tapped his (charmed) iPod to pause and smiled at her again.
Enya looked towards the voice and watched as a boy sat down next to her, oh joy she had to talk to someone she wasn't looking for. On the added bonus he was good looking, all the good looking one's seemed to be flogging her these days, as they very well should be. Enya gave the boy a small smile and turned back to her plate. She could be nice to the boys - well the one's that were good looking and didn't get on her nerves - but girls. No way. Although where Erin or Louisa were was beyond her.
Come one girls, GET HERE ALREADY! She shouted in her mind as she took a sip of her drink. She finally got round to addressing the boy, "Yes my friends. Don't you have friends around?" She asked looking at him again.

Beware.
"And I'm a bit of a Quidditch nerd.." he said chuckling. "Okay." he said nodding. "I think I'll try out for the team in like my third year probably." he said nodding and looking at her.
Taylor laughed, "A quidditch nerd, is that right?" She smiled, "Hmmm i think you will do great on the quidditch team." She nodded, "And i will so go to a game or two if you play." She laughed a little.
Max shrugged off the idea of OWLs for the time being. The term had just begun - he didn't want to stress over them just yet. His first obstacle would be Quidditch tryouts.
The thought of spending a few days or any amount of time, really, with Ellie over the summer kind of made the term "summer break" sound a lot less painful than it normally was; however, this was another idea that Max needed to shake off. He saw no reason to get excited nearly a year ahead of time and let anticipation build for such a long time. As it was, he had a whole term with Ellie and his other Ravenclaw friends in front of him. Classes, Quidditch games, common room fun. They probably had some Quidditch parties in their near future, too.
"Questions? Like what?" Max could probably give her some advice, too. He knew a bit about going into the professional Quidditch business. "I might actually like to hear what he has to say about it, too, if you wouldn't mind me coming along." He hadn't put too much thought into what he wanted to do after Hogwarts, but he figured it could be interesting to hear Vindictus's expertise and opinion on the matter.
Ellie shrugged. "Mostly about...scouts and...teams and...stuff." She looked away. She was embarrassed by that. She thought it made her seem full of herself or something but....they were only questions, right? And a lot of former students that she knew of were scouted. And Carter had mentioned them possibly looking at her last year. She was just curious.
"Definitely," Eyes back on Max, "I was going to ask you to come anyway." She didn't really want to go to Vindictus alone. He still had that intimidating thing about him.

Gemma turned with her usual smile towards a young man, "O yes..." she searched her memory for the boys name but she couldn't find it with her mind on other things..."well, I had a student mentuon there was someone that might have fainted earlier... she paused as she looked up and down the table..."i just wanted to double check on that student..." she said finally meeting eyes with the student.
Having no idea where she was going, Nessie headed off to the Ravenclaw table. She didn't have many friends in the clever house, but there was one person she was hoping to see in particular. The hall was so full of firstbies and new comers that it was hard to see a face she actuallly recognised.
After a few moments of looking around, Nessie found who she was looking for. "JO JO!!" she said as she walked over to her only Ravenclaw friend. It was so good to see her, she hadn't seen Joanna in who knew how long. It was only right she came and gave a friend a proper greeting.
Joanna was looking at her reflection through the metal shinny silver spoon, fixing her hair. She tried also a few different hair styles, all hair over left shoulder, all her over right shoulder... It was strange. The Ravenclaw never used to care how she looked. She was probably growing-up... Oh, hopefully she won't be a girly flashy girl, when she'll be older, that would be odd.
Continuing to try different hair styles, Joanna heard someone shout her name. She knew the voice and she it was meant for her, she was the only girl who was called JoJo at Hogwarts. Excitedly, with her usual friendly smile, Joanna turned her head and saw Ness!!! "OMG!!! NESS!!!" said Joanna loudly, hopefully not too loudly.... or that would be awkward. The Ravenclaw stood up and ran walked quickly towards her friend, not trying to attract attention. Maybe it wasn't polite to stand up during the feast, but Joanna wasn't known for her manners, or being polite, she was known for hyper behaviour, and cleverness.
Making her way towards the Hufflepuff, before giving a welcoming hug, or a high-five the fourth year demanded, "Ness. Where have you been this summer?! And you better have a good answer for not looking for me at Diagon Alley." Joanna wasn't furious or mad at Ness but she was really excited!!! Oh... Hogwarts, Joanna missed you.
Autumn had settled down to grab some food after it had appeared when she saw a boy walking towards the table, she smiled at him, hoping he would see her and come sit with her.
SOMEONE WAS LOOKING AT HIM.
Darwin calmed down when she smiled, and looked young, and not old and scary. He smiled back, and seeing the free space, decided he was going to be as brave as the Hat had said he could be when he wanted to, as brave as Emiline was, because even if he didn't like his older sister, getting on stage infront of that many people must've took some form of bravery.
"Hi, uh, I'm Darw- I mean, uh, Damon," he managed, blushing as his name slipped out. "Can I sit here, only I don't really know anyone and... yeah."

But it's all good! You're in a house! I told you you would." Pam giggled. "Evreyone here's really nice. And the dorms are really cool." Pam hoped he wouldn't gettoo freaked out by her. She was just excited that a friend of hers was able to be in the same house as her.
Pam looked at her hair in shock. Dang hair. She sighed. "This stupid hair. I can never control it." she closed her eyes and concentrated. Her hair turned a dark brown, but it didn't stay brown. She looked at a lock of her and sighed again. "Ehy won't it stay brown?" she asked Nate. He was the smart one. He'd probably be able to help.
Turning a little at the sound of his name, Darwin grinned at the girl who'd called it. Finally, someone he knew, and she was sat near to the other girl, so he would have to feel rude and leave her to go sit with other people. No, being rude wasn't nice, and Darwin wasn't rude.
"I'm amazing, thanks," he said excitedly, bouncing on the balls of his feet. "I know you did, I should have listened, I'm so glad, and I know someone, too: you!" He flushed with his energy and excitement, as he spotted the blue on her tie and robes, and remembered their conversation in Diagon Alley. "They are? Good, because I don't know anyone and everyone seems to know people and ... well, I don't."
He gasped a moment later, though. "Woah, how'd that, why'd that, I mean... your hair!" If he wasn't seeing things, then that had just changed colour. He rubbed his eyes furiously, looking away and looking back, not even trying to conceal his shock. "Can I do that!?"

Nate smiled at his friend, hoping she would realize that he had literally no clue why her hair was so stubbornly gray.
Nate was about to refill his goblet again when Pam spoke, and not to him. What was this? A new first year? And Pam knew him? How, Nate didn't even really care. All this meant was that he could make a new friend, have someone to help out, and maybe fulfill one of his deeper wants to be looked up to...
"Hey there," he greeted, "I'm Nate. This is Pam, she isn't as old as she looks right now. Welcome to Ravenclaw! What's your name?" Get all the important things out of the way first. Then he could move on to the more fun parts of life at Hogwarts.
Darwin started a little, as a boy who looked about Pams age spoke to him, too. "Hi, uh yeah, I met her in Diagon Alley," he began excitedly, his smile not faltering. "How does she do it?" he added, about the hair colour, indicating it with his head. "I'm Damon."
Yeah, he answered the boy, right? And no 'Darwin' slip ups, either. YEY.

MORE PEOPLE TALKING TO HIM.
Darwin like this, this big, amazingly cool hall and everyone running around, and as long as none of the big people trod on him then he knew he'd love it. And everyone seemed really friendly and no one had tried to curse him or kill him yet. He grinned a Melanie, and then took her hand, and shook it.

It was probably train sickness or something like that." I'm still not sure... he added to himself. "I'm fine now, though. The new nurse has some pretty potent stuff in that vial," Nate said, a smile returning to his face. Be positive about a potential poisoning, right? Right.
SPOILER!!: Damon

How does she do it? Do what? Oh, right, the hair. "She's a metamorphmagus," Nate explained. "Her hair and eyes change color a lot. She's basically a walking, talking mood ring." Ah, yes, a name! "Damon. Nice name. So, any questions about Ravenclaw? Any presumptions, worries, queries, or suggestions? I'm always open to new ideas."
Logan laughed. "Really? Thanks!" he said, blushing slightly. He never blushed so much around a person before, gosh what was wrong with him?! "You will? Awesome! You'll be my number one fan then! Right?" he said laughing.
"your welcome." She smiled when he blushed and held back yet another giggle. Oh how she loved to make him blush, just so cute when he did. She laughed at that thought. "I will." She smiled, "Though if you are playing aganist Ravenclaw, I might not cheer for Gryffindor but i would probably still cheer you on." She laughed.
Autumn looked back up "mmm It's ok i geuss.." Autumn would have liked to be in slytherin but her blood status kept that at bay.
Okay? Louisa arched an eyebrow, "It's more than just okay. Well, I think it is." With a sigh, the fifteen years old shrugged one shoulder, acting nonchalant and all. "The sorting hat makes no mistakes, you know." So Autumn was supposed to be in Ravenclaw. With the eagles. "What house were you most eager to land in?" That sounded like an airplane but.. the girl should get the meaning.

"Nice to meet you, Lily." Louisa was proud of her teaching, it was blossoming already. Hehehe. Who knew she was a good influence over younger students? "Yes, classes. You get to meet most of your year fellows over there. And some others." Nodding her head at that.
Dorms? "Well, you share it with four others. Sometimes more or less. It depends I guess on how many are sorted and how many have graduated the term before. But you don't have to worry about it, if you don't like or get along with your dorm mates, you can always switch." Louisa had no idea if this was legal or not, but again Louisa never cared about rules. Heh. Maybe she wasn't a good influence after all. Oh well, Vashti would be fixing her mess now that she was a Head Girl. Hehe.
"So, you're a muggleborn, huh? How was it like to know you're a witch?" How did her parents take it, too? Louisa was a half-blood that was raised as a muggle-born. She wanted to know what other parents thought of having a magical kid, were all of them so grumpy about it like hers?

Vashti didn't want to risk using a Summoning Spell; the rat might hit something depending on what was between him and her wand, and that might injure him, which was something she definitely didn't want to happen.

Dallin didn't exactly want to be here. He didn't feel nice and chatty, and like he wanted to be around a whole bunch of people just to eat food. He wanted to go to his dorm and sleep, mostly. But this was his very last start of term feast ever and he kind of felt like he had an obligation to go just because. He didn't want to, though.
It was all very confusing with his thoughts right now.
Suffice it to say, he was not smiling as he entered the Hall and went straight to the Ravenclaw table. He would eat some food and get outta here. He just needed to be able to say that he did indeed go to the feast. And maybe he could - oh, look! There was Louisa. He needed to talk to her, anyway. She didn't get around to telling him why her summer had been intense.
"Hey," he greeted not-very-cheerfully as he sat down next to the fifth year, hardly noticing all the smaller kids that were around her.

"Maybe I will...if you do that dip thing you did I might actually beat you this time!" Logan teased.
Darwin like this, this big, amazingly cool hall and everyone running around, and as long as none of the big people trod on him then he knew he'd love it. And everyone seemed really friendly and no one had tried to curse him or kill him yet. He grinned a Melanie, and then took her hand, and shook it.
"I'm Damon, nice t'meet you! Yeah, I am, I've just been sorted." His grin didn't vanish as he said it, hyper as usual. "What house are you in?" And she was his age, like Laura and Brooke. YEY NEW FRIENDS.
Melanie laughed, unable to contain herself as the boy shook her hand. He was clearly very excited, and it was all Melanie could do to wrap her head around his rapid speech.
"Nice to meet you too, Damon," she chuckled. "I'm in Ravenclaw," she said, casually gesturing to the table behind her. "How about you? What house are you in?" she asked him, wondering if he'd answer her just as excitedly as he had addressed her before.
Nate blushed a little, embarrassed, when she brought up the whole fainting student thing. "Oh, yeah, him? That was me," he admitted, "I fainted. It was probably train sickness or something like that." I'm still not sure... he added to himself. "I'm fine now, though. The new nurse has some pretty potent stuff in that vial," Nate said, a smile returning to his face. Be positive about a potential poisoning, right? Right.
Jordan almost choked on his pumpkin juice, "You fainted?" he asked Nate incredulously, why had he not heard of this sooner? "When? Why? Who? Team Wolf?" he whispered, "They wouldn't target you would they?" his voice low enough for only Nate to hear.
"Maybe I will...if you do that dip thing you did I might actually beat you this time!" Logan teased.
Taylor blushed slightly out of embarasament at the mention of the dip accident and laughed a little, "Hmmm maybe this time i could actually hit the ground." She smiled, "But without the dip thing you probably will still beat me."
