The glittering night sky is clear and visible through the enchanted ceiling, and the floating candles bedeck the entire hall in a warm golden light. All seems well with the world, aside from the empty plates still waiting for food to appear.
Elliot appeared at the table, aware that no one was there yet! Hmph! She took the spot closest to the Staff Table so that she would be able to hear the Headmaster's speech well enough. He always spokes so eloquently.
Anyways, the blonde sat down at her house table and crossed her ankles in a polite sitting position, like Darius had taught her. She wondered how long it would be before one of her friends cared to join her. She absentmindedly played with her pearl earrings, getting lost in her thoughts...

Taylor walked into the Great Hall and went to the ravenclaw table. Hmmmm am i early? there is only one other person...... She sat down and started braiding her hair out of boredom and out of nervousness. First year here..... i wonder if i will get treated as a first year or as the second year i am..... maybe i shouldn't of transferred. Taylor shook away her thoughts and started wondering where her twin was....... also in ravenclaw.

Jayden slowly walked over to the table, taking a seat next to Elliot. "Hey there.." She mumbled, crossing her legs and folding her arms across her chest as she searched the crowds for any sign of Caelius.

Elliot looked up as another person sat down. She was new...or, at least Elliot had never seen the girl before. Hmm. She decided she would at least try and be friendly...well, friendly for Elliot.
"Hello there. You look...new," she began with a smirk, and she held out her hand politely. "Names Elliot," she introduced, her eyes twinkling a little mischievously. She didn't know why she was always introducing herself to people...she NEVER made good impressions. not that she cared, really.

Where was he when she needed him? Merlin.
Elliot turned to glare at Jayden. she had been in a right foul mood earlier...and Elliot most certainly did NOT feel like dealing with tears again. "Jayden," she nodded, and gestured to a seat next to her. "Better cheer up, Jayden, or I won't talk to you the rest of the night!" she told her icily, but she was only half-joking. Hopefully Jayden would figure that out.

Vashti could've sworn the train ride had never gone by that quickly the past six years she'd been riding it. It was like time had sped up or something. Was it trying to get her out of Hogwarts as fast as possible? How mean!
She tried not to think about all that as she entered the Great Hall though. Starting the term off all depressed and mopey wasn't good, so instead she focused on the food that would soon be appearing on the tables. Hogwarts food was always good, and eating it would cheer her up immensely.
The Ravenclaw table wasn't that full now though, so obviously she was early. But that was okay. She was used to being early anyway, since she usually was.
"Hello, everyone," she greeted the younger students - though everyone outside her fellow seventh years were younger than her, weren't they? Strange - with a smile. "Ready for a new term to begin?" It was going be a good one, hopefully.

"I know, I know..." Jayden muttered under her breath. "It's fine. I'm FINE. I promise. No more tears. It'll be better once Cael gets here, anyways." She mused, smiling at Elliot mischievously. She loved getting a rise out of Elliot. It was good, clean fun.
Cael stretched his arms over his head lazily as he sat down at the Ravenclaw table. Another year was finally here and his time in Hawaii was already just a fond memory. Sigh.
He really didn't want to be a part of any drama this year. Cael nearly had a stroke trying to smooth over all of his problems first year and was in serious need of a relaxing semester. Looking around the table, he was relieved to see that the House elf situation had cleared up. He definitely hadn't wanted tonight's feast to be the filthy repeat that last year's was.
Hopefully the baby elf had found a good home in the end.
Straightening up as he eyed a few first years trickling into the Great Hall, he smiled at a few of the shy-looking ones remembering how daunting the upper years had appeared, especially when he'd inadvertently gotten in the middle of a heated blood-status debate. He shuddered at the memory. Certainly not one of his finer moments.
Shrugging the memory away he grinned good-naturedly, "Welcome to Ravenclaw. If you need anything, don't hesitate to ask the rest of us; we'd be more than happy to help. I'm Caelius Ashdown by the way," he winked, flashing a blinding smile.

"Hey, darling," he smiled, throwing an arm around his girlfriend's shoulders. She still seemed so down, it wasn't like her to be so gloomy. Hopefully tonight's feast would cheer her up, it was always so awe-inspiring to watch the sorting.

"Caelius!" Jayden laughed, as he came down to sit beside her. "I swear, I need to get some kind of tracker for you! You're all over the place!" She chuckled, her eyes twinkling with pure joy and adoration. She and Cael had had a good summer together, it was almost as if time hadn't gone by at all... but here they were... one year later. Still together.
"Hmm... I wonder if they got their elf problem figured out..." She whispered into his ear before kissing his neck briefly.
Taylor looked over at the girl who spoke to her and shook her hand that was offered, "Taylor." She smiled, "Spent a year at Beauxbatons. Pleasure meeting you."
Taylor. "Ah, we both have male names. curious, isn't it?" she asked as she shook her hand.
She continued to smirk as the girl said she had transferred from Beauxbatons. "Really? I visited there, before I came here. It was between there and here...and well, obviously I chose Hogwarts. What made you leave?" she asked, genuinely curious. Beauxbatons was so...classy. Even Elliot had to admit that.

Maximus James filed into the Great Hall with the rest of the students. The train ride had been short - he had found a vacant compartment and fell asleep before the Express had even taken off. Luckily, he slept like a rock, for a compartment of younger, chatty students woke him to change into his robes.
As he meandered down the aisle, his instinct was to find a familiar face, and then he saw one sitting on the opposite side: Vashti. He kicked his leg over the bench and sat across from her, giving her a smile and a nod as a greeting. "Vashti, it's nice to see you again! Have a good summer? And - ah - lovely Head Girl badge you've got there!" Pretending to be intimidated, Max put his hands out flat in front of him and swayed vertically, praising her and her greatness.

Caelius arrived, but Elliot rolled her eyes at his 'grand' entrance. He was such a...Elliot didn't know WHAT to call the kid.
Taylor raised an eyebrow, Boyish name? great... She smiled, "Yeah, it was amazing there but i decided to leave because all of my family are here and they begged me to transfer to here." Taylor decided to play the girly, spoiled brat angle for a bit. She flipped her hair, "I prefer Beauxbaton but I guess Hogwarts is nice." She shrugged and yawned, "The people here are sweet and I guess the castle is alright." She smiled at the girl, "Why did you choose Hogwarts instead, if you dont mind me asking, that is."
With no one with her, except her new pet lizard that she actually hadn't revealed yet at the train, that was a miracle, she moved her way to find a comfortable seat to have her dinner. Oh! How she wanted to eat all the lovely dishes the house elves have prepared.
She looked at the staff table, she was definitely sure, even from afar, you'll notice the different faces. Where were the others? And who were the others? The hard to understand professor was not there either.
Elliot rolled her eyes, but she smirked. "What? Am I not good enough for you, Jayden?" she asked sarcastically, reaching to grab a glass of water. She was absolutely parched!
Caelius arrived, but Elliot rolled her eyes at his 'grand' entrance. He was such a...Elliot didn't know WHAT to call the kid.
"Of course you're good enough Elliot.... He just makes things better, and he's an excellent cuddle bear!" She teased, smiling at Elliot and poking Caelius playfully in the stomach. "See? Nice and squishy!" She laughed, turning her head as she searched the crowds and watched the new firsties enter the great hall.
"Merlin. Were we really that tiny? They look so.... small!" She commented, leaning her head back and relaxing into Caelius' arms.

Elliot's smirk only curled more. She seemed spoiled...perfect. "You listened to your family?" she asked, and laughed. "So, if you transferred...that means you're actually not a first year, correct?" she asked, looking smug.
She preferred Beauxbatons? Ha! Elliot stopped fiddling with her earrings and tapped her fingers on the table. "Beauxbatons was very beautiful, I know. You'll grow to like Hogwarts..." she told her. Maybe. If Hogwarts was good enough for Elliot, then it was good enough for ANYONE. Because Merlin knows, Elliot was the most prestigious person here! ha!
"I don't mind, no. My father came here...and he recommended Hogwarts. And Beauxbatons didn't seem..." she searched for the right words, and her eyes twinkled. "...enough of a challenge for me," she finished, chuckling to herself. She wondered how this Taylor girl would take that.

"Some of them are bigger than I am!" she exclaimed disbelievingly. She was small for her age, though, so that wasn't saying much.
"And Caelius, a cuddle bear?" she asked, cocking at eyebrow. Then she burst out laughing. "More like an armadillo or something!" she said the FIRST animal that came to her mind...and for some reason, that was an armadillo.

"Seems like it. Would have been a shame to try to eat off dirty dishes again, hm?" he laughed, playing with the ends of her hair indulgently as she showered him with affection. He couldn't ever see himself getting tired of her, she just had so much joie de vivre; it was almost infectious.

Now that was a bummer, she swore she had brought her remembrall with her, but she couldn't find it anywhere. So, with seemingly low spirits, Beatrice proceeded to the Great Hall where new first years and some tranferees are already being sorted.
Looking around, her eyes were caught by someone. And it was no other than her bestfriend, Erin. Feeling a bit more cheerful by seeing her friend, she immediately walked near and settled herself beside the fellow eagle. "Erin!" She said, giving her friend a small smile.

Bring on the Elliot storm.
Elliot's eye twitched as Caelius...insulted her! Hmph. She shot him a glare, but her eyes glinted...heehee.
"Mediocre? Hmph. Seems as if your previously superb taste has plummeted into mere mediocre refinery," she replied, not a smile on her face and her expression completely apathetic. But on the inside she was killing herself laughing.
Ha! Caelius! She loved these!

Oh dear, a prankster. Elliot tried not to look too...superior. Actually not that bad? "So..you lied, eh? You really do like it here?" she asked smugly, and sniggered. "I think I just caught you in a lie, didn't I?" she asked, lifting one of her eyebrows critically.
She agreed with Elliot! Okay, so the little Morganzo now really liked her! "Yes, yes, I know. And being in Ravenclaw...we're smarter than most. So the challenge is indeed welcome, right?" right. She took a sip from her water and simply watched to see how the girl would react. Elliot was a hard person to get along with...and Elliot knew it.

Taylor smirked, "I said it wasn't that bad.... I did not say that i liked it here." She wrinkled up her nose slightly, This girl was getting a little aggravating..... but oh well more fun that way... She smiled, "It would be welcomed if Hogwarts can provided it." She raised an eyebrow, "Smarter than most?" She nodded slightly, "This will be interesting." Her eyes twinkled in good humor and a little mischief.

Just then, she rememberes, it was the Head Girl's last year at Hogwarts ain't it? "You're currently in seventh year right?"
"Hi!" she offered a smile to her bestfriend. She was glad, finally, she had her. There was no of her at the train and the platforms. "Look!" she said in great delight. "I have a new pet!" and then she slightly raised her arms wherein the little lizard was settled and probably sleeping. Lizards do sleep.
And then, she suddenly heard her addressed a certain Miss Greenwell, okay, she have seen this girl named Vashti from last term but she had not gotten the chance to formally meet her. "Hello! I am Erin," she smiled and then a beautiful badge. "You're Head Girl!"
After parting ways with Ino, Eino made his way to great hall. He usually liked to be early so he could find a seat he liked, preferably closer to the stool so he could get a good look at the first years getting sorted. He did this because he liked to guess, based on their appearance alone, where the hat would sort them. He usually got it wrong, but he enjoyed doing it nonetheless. This time however, Eino was sidetracked by a few lost first years so he didn't make it on time for a front row seat. He took a seat somewhere in the middle of the table, then waited for the event to commence.
Along the staff table he caught Professor Bentley, his favorite professor, and a man he did not yet recognize. He watched Professor Bentley for a while, hoping her eyes would make their way to the Ravenclaw Table. He didn't like going up the the professors on the first night because he liked to give them the chance to catch up with each other, and perhaps meet new staff for the first time. When Professor Bentley's eyes were moving towards the table, he swiftly raised his hand, hoping her eyes would meet his enthusiastic wave and smile.
Taylor smirked, "I said it wasn't that bad.... I did not say that i liked it here." She wrinkled up her nose slightly, This girl was getting a little aggravating..... but oh well more fun that way... Elliot thought back...hmm, she was right, of course, but Elliot wouldn't admit it. "Hmm...okay, if you say so," was all she said in reply. She wished the food would hurry. She was starving...and her lack of interest in sweets never bade well on the train, since that's all they really had!
"Hogwarts will, don't worry. And yes, Ravenclaw is the...house for intelligent people," she replied knowingly. Did this girl know anything about Hogwarts? Apparently not.
"Now, are you from France, or did you simply decide to go to Beauxbatons because of its prestige?" she asked curiously. Of course, Elliot wasn't French at all, and she had still considered the French school for witches.
