This particular room has served as an office to a number of different professors over the years. Some of which include revered professors such as Septima Vector, Bree Geltz, Kali O'hara, Lesley Modulo Fox, Matthias Pythagoras Wenlock, Onyx Xavier Frost, and of course, Macadrian Ashling Shackleton-Clark. With each new Professor that has made this office homey, Josephina is sure they each brought their own particular flair to its decorations to accommodate their tastes. Just as Josephina did when she first entered upon this room just several years ago now.
The walls have been painted a light blue-gray color and there are a handful of paintings hung around the room, giving off a rather comfortable aura. One of the paintings is a rendition repainted by Josephina, herself, of a canal near her hometown in Perugia, Italy. There is a framed miniature Italian flag, as well as a third painting of of the famous Leaning Tower of Pisa.
As with typical office decorum, there is a large, polished wooden desk, that once belonged to each of her predecessors. There are a few neat stacks of papers and worksheets on the desk. There are also a few framed photographs sitting on her desk; one of Josephina posed with her two sisters, one of her parents, Nicole and Marcus, sitting on their couch. There's also a photograph of a baby girl, about toddler-aged, who will crawl around in the photo and maybe even disappear completely if you watch long enough, but have no fear, she'll be back! And an even more recent photograph, which you might recognize as your Herbology Professor with your Arithmancy one, taken on their recent trip to Italy. Behind the large wooden desk sits a black executive style chair. Directly on the other side of the desk - where visitors may sit - are two smaller black chairs, but still just as comfortable.
There's a bookcase on the left side, which contains various titles that Josephina collected over the years. Some these include, but are not limited to, The Complete Book of Numerology, New Theory of Numerology, Numerology and Gramatica, A Look Into The Future, and Olde and Forgotten Bewitchments and Charmes. There are also muggle classic books by Charles Dickens and Jane Austen, for which are a few of Fina's guilty pleasures.
Though the door is nearly always open, proper etiquette dictates knocking and addressing your identity before entering. Especially as Professor Hadley likely has her back to the door where she is playing with her puppy named Baisley or her kitten received from recent graduate, Lorelai Bristol, in which she conveniently named Bristol. Just entering without permission is rude and punishable with either point deduction and/or detention for being disrespectful.
OOC: No, there is no waiting area, but please do not clog up this thread with useless chatter of 'waiting to enter'. Have your character knock and then wait for Professor Hadley to respond to either enter or to come back later.
There are plenty of places around the school that allow for chat with your friends; Professor Hadley's office is NOT the place for it and doing as such will be cause for appropriate discipline actions.
Any questions or concerns or appointment requests, please PM me.

Even once you graduate and get a job someplace, your boss will be your authority. How do you think the Headmaster would feel if I told him I wasn't going to do something because I disagreed?" She said as an example, but didn't wait for a response.
"Probably not very content with me." And she'd probably be out a job. "But yes, counting to ten and reminding yourself that it's okay to do somethings asked of you, even if you don't agree, is definitely a good measure. Now, if it's something that would be hazardous to your health - which I highly doubt any professor of this institution would ask you do something of that nature, then that on the other hand, would be the exception where you might want to question their request."
"But I'm glad you had a good learning experience and I do expect to hear nothing more about this in the future."
But then, Alyssa added something else, besides her visit about her detention. Watching as the third year reached into her bag and presented her with the gift, she smiled gratefully. "Oh. Oh... It's lovely, yes! Thank you, Alyssa! That was very thoughtful of you." Considering how she loved traveling and taking photos, she most definitely would find a use for the frame.
Alyssa was glad that the Professor wasn't angry with her for having disgraced the House with having to serve detention. "Oh yes, Professor. I have definitely learned my lesson, and I know now that I have to respect authority not only here in the school but in the future too, when I venture out into the work field. This will definitely be the last time that you see me serving detention." Alyssa assured the Professor. 'Unless I'm the boss,' Alyssa thought to herself. But she wasn't going to say that to the Professor who might not appreciate her humor.
She was glad too that the Professor had accepted the photo frame that she had made for Transfiguration Homework Assignment. She knew that the Professor could have made nicer ones, and so was grateful that she had accepted one so shabby looking as hers.
"I know that you're busy, so I'll excuse myself now. I need to start working on your homework assignment and study up for the other classes. Again thank you for taking the time to speak with me." Alyssa nodded her head and smiled before turning around and left Professor Hadley's office.
Another knock. Merlin, it was only November. "Come in," she said simply, setting her quill down as she waited for the visitor to present themselves.
See? He was being patient and waiting for the Professor to allow him inside. That was nice, wasn't it? And it was a change for sure, because he'd always had some sort of entrance when it came to Hadley.
"Hi Professor," and Head of House, "I...trust you're okay?" he did leave a kid on her office the last time. He wanted to ask if they were okay, but since he'd made her laugh that day, he supposed they were, which is why he immediately stepped inside and took a seat.
"I've got something for you." Yeah, straight to the points. Some things never changed. And...he took a picture frame from his bag. Granted, all you could see was a small box with a bow, a RED bow, yet inside you'll find the gift. It was small. It'd fit anywhere inside her office. "There's a picture inside...it wasn't taken by me, in case you get to wonder that." His father's wife did. "But that's my favorite place in Italy, actually. Tuscany, to be more precise." And that was the limit for his precision, he couldn't take a map and point the spot on it, really.
There was a small smirk on his face, "I thought you should have something that may remind you of me. You know, your first Head Boy." That was...slightly correct.
Also, he'd want to apologize for bringing Tye in the first place...but that didn't seem too important now.

And that was his cue to enter. Tye pushed the door open and put on the best puppy dog almost crying face he could muster. It wasn't like it was a total act, she had made him feel that way in her office, he was just feeling better now, but that didn't mean he couldn't let his head of house see how the ice queen had made him feel.
"Professor.."cue wibbles.." I went to get some help from professor schirmer and she took away my points and I didn't even do anything!" Tear clouded eyes..."I only wanted her to help me classes.." His eyes fell to his shoes.

Laura looked at Professor Hadley and smiled. "Well she asked how do you stop a spell from working, and I couldn't think of anyway so I replied by throwing you wand on the floor and stamping on it." Laura was being truthful there. "So you see I just answered the question and lost 5 points."

Her assistance in her office? Why in Merlin's beard would she need the ARITHMANCY professor? She was the DEFENSE professor. Shrugging, she stowed her wand in its holster and locked up her office behind her, leaving her papers where they were, as she headed off in the direction of one floor down.

Fina nodded approvingly when Alyssa said it would be the last time she served detention. It wasn't about the detention though. It was about the lack of respect. But since the third year claimed she learned her lesson, that meant it was no longer an issue. Hopefully.
"Have fun and thank you once again," Fina said, setting the frame down on her desktop thoughtfully, as the girl exited. Back to work.

Oh. It was Treyen. Only this TIME he was alone. Perhaps in need of some kind of career advice that the Head of House was meant to give? Trust she was okay? Why wouldn't she be?
"Hello.... Treyen. Yes, I'm fine..." she paused, contemplatively. "No, I'm great even." Why wouldn't she be? She actually felt like she wasn't so behind for once.
Another present? Oh no. Hopefully not more food. She wasn't sure she could handle more consumables. But, when he showed her the picture frame, similar to the one Alyssa had given not long before, only his had a picture in it, her eyes lit up. "Oh... oh..." she was speechless. Obviously. "It's beautiful."
Her first head boy. Oh, how sweet he was. "You're... oh... Treyen... that's just.... remarkable. Truly sweet of you. Thank you," she said, taking the picture and finding a spot for it on her wall, next to her other Italy one.

Her interruption was ... none other than Tyler. Had he come to complain more about being a Hufflepuff? But before she could ask, he blurted it out, even though his expressions obviously let her know that something was wrong. Wait... what?!? HIM too?? What was up with Althea and taking points from HER Hufflepuffs, when all they were trying to do was LEARN! It wasn't as if they were being rude!
"Why?" she asked, suddenly feeling very sympathetic and yet also angered toward Althea. Was the woman in cahoots with Hecate or something? "I mean... did she say why she took the points away?" Apparently she was going to need to make a trip up to the third floor.

Fina blinked. "Well it's not the best way, nor would it be effective in stopping a spell, but you're only a first year. It was a valid suggestion for someone who wouldn't know any better..." She supposed. Maybe more valid for a muggle. "Though, why would you want to stomp on your wand, Laura? Your wand ... is apart of you. You're a witch. That wand, is special. You wouldn't want anyone to try to take that away from you, would you? Your specialness...?"

Tyler shrugged then shook his head. It didn't make any sense to him. As far as he was concerned he wasn't being rude, he was just really honest about why he was having trouble with his studies and his preferences in learning methods.
"I just told her I didn't want a tutor then she got all weird and took my points away then gave me extra work." Which he did by the way. He just needed to find someone older to help him practice his spells.
He could always TELL Treyen to help him, that was what head boys were for right?

Minerva had just come from the head masters well statues since she didn't really see the head master. She decided to stop my Professor Hadley's office to see what she thought about her idea. KNOCK KNOCK she waited for the Professor.

Oh? He almost raised an eyebrow at her answer. Well, he didn't. He did smirk a little bit. So, Hadley was doing better than he thought? Awesome! Those were good news.
And...want to know what's also good? The fact that she seemed genuinely glad to have a present from Treyen. Or that kind of present, anyway. Plus, the reasoning behind it was what counted the most. Hadley was speechless, but she'd liked it. Her expression was proof of that.
Treyen nodded. Waaay too many times. His smirk changed into a nice sweet smile, "I'm glad you liked it," and she instantly placed it somewhere along those other pictures of her country, which happens to be one Treyen loved too much.
"I also wanted to apologize for bringing you a first year whose wishes were to be resorted," cue Tye, "You made him see reason, though." Which was all everyone wanted, no? Everyone in the Common Room at least.

Was it just her or did Laura actually seem CONTENT by the fact that she would have smashed her wand to bits to stop a spell? Fina shook her head at the girl disbelievingly. "Please, Miss Hyde .... Laura, do me and your professors a favor and try to take your education at Hogwarts seriously. Magic is not a joke. If you don't know the answer, then sometimes, it's better to not answer at all."

Huh? Why did Tyler need a tutor? She was lost and felt like she was missing something. "That is weird," Fina admitted, contemplating him, trying to detect any tones of sarcasm or lying.... but found nothing. Someone had spite. Clearly.
"Why did she want to give you a tutor in the first place?" Apparently though, she was going to need to have a heart-to-heart with Althea; whether the woman liked it or not.

Just getting situated again with her work, another knock. "You may come in," she said, realizing only then, at that moment, she was getting kind of hungry. She just only hoped her tummy wouldn't start rumbling whilst her visitor was here. That would be embarrassing.

Did someone turn on the nodding charm with Treyen? And turn off his voice? Because although the Lockhart was notorious for his charming smile and nodding, he was nodding and smirking just a bit too much and Fina wasn't exactly sure what to make of it.
But then he finally spoke, and it was her turn to smile. "Love it, even, perhaps," she corrected, admiring the picture again, before setting the frame down.
"Oh, it happens. These things happen." She said quietly, as the subject in the room seemed to change. "But that's part of my job, as your head of house, you see, to help new students see reason. And part of your job too, actually." Just in case he'd forgotten behind his NEWT studies and all, he was meant to be a role model to the Hufflepuffs, and she had to remind him of that role.

Whaaat? REALLY?! She loved it! Well, Treyen couldn't be happier now, the grin on his face dictated so. "That's...," well, yes, he was speechless, "...nice to hear, actually, very nice to hear. I miss it, too. Italy." She must be missing it like crazy, though.
But it was time to discuss something else, no? Something involving Tye. Or not involving him at all, really. Treyen wanted to disagree with Hadley, all the complainers seem to be sorted into Hufflepuff, apparently, for he didn't see this kind of events at the Ravenclaw table, nor at the Gryffindor one. The occasional Slytherin, yes, but it was a very RARE case.
Oh. She added something. Yeah. He knew that. "I know. I know. I still thought it was more convenient to bring him to you." BY LYING, but still. Plus, Arya wasn't around for that kid, so, there was very little Treyen could do.

Minerva walked in slowly. "Hello Professor. I was doing some reading and a thought crossed my mind. I had went to see the headmaster with the thought, but didn't know the password so I left and decided to come to see you. I know we don't have a librarian and I spend so much time there. I was wondering if maybe I could help out with some of the librarian work that needs to be done." She was there anyway so why not help out.

"Italy is nice, yes, but honestly, I don't regret leaving it behind." She paused, realizing how that made her sound. "I mean, I miss it, of course, but it's a part of me. Always has been."
Oh good. He knew that. "Well yes, I suppose it might have been more convenient and sometimes, if you're not sure what to say, then yes... that's better." But that made her wonder something else. "Is Arya alright?"

Seeing Minerva ... and the girl slowly walk in, Fina smiled warmly, as she launched into her purpose for visiting her today. Oh. That was actually a good thought. "I don't see why not... if it won't be too much of a hassle, of course," Fina said thoughtfully. "Perhaps even just helping with the re-shelving of books that the students leave around would be of help." And perhaps if the girl did good, she'd mention her good deeds to the Headmaster. Surely he wouldn't let some good efforts like that go unnoticed. Right? "But ... well, yea, I don't see a problem with helping with that. Assuming it didn't get in the way of your studies, and now your quidditch practices." Since the girl was on the quidditch team this year.

Fina shook her head. Silly girl. "Of course I worry about your studies. That's part of my job, dear. But like I said, if you think you can handle it, then you're more than welcome. Re-shelving books would be a huge help, no doubt." She nodded.

Nod. Nod. Wait.
Hogwarts was like home to him too, and even if they all knew they were meant to leave it sooner or later...he was never going to regret coming to this school, and while it was not the same because he wasn't leaving a whole country...it felt like it. A very small country. Well, he was leaving Scotland to return to England, but that's besides the point.
"Why did you leave?" he asked, all of the sudden, "I'm sorry, I...don't mean to intrude or anything," he was shaking his head now, she was free to deny him of an answer after all.
He smiled again. He'd done the right thing, then? Desperate measures called for desperate needs. Tye required a talk with Hadley. Simple enough. "Got it." He only hoped he'd be able to deal with this stuff in whatever time was left of him. "Arya? She is. Why?" She was the happiest and calmest he's seen her, ever.

Fina shook her head. Silly girl. "Of course I worry about your studies. That's part of my job, dear. But like I said, if you think you can handle it, then you're more than welcome. Re-shelving books would be a huge help, no doubt." She nodded.
Minerva gave her a big smile. "Well I will re-shelf books whenever I'm in the library then." which was most of the time for her. She got up. "Well I don't want to keep you to long, I know your busy. Thank you again for everything professor."
Evelyn was extremely nervous as she waited outside Hadley's office.
She hadn't been feeling great since the lobalug incident and for some reason, she felt like apologizing to Hadley. After all, she did lose 20 points. Cringe. Initially yes, Evelyn didn't want to face the head of house at all..but, she really wanted to get this meeting over with.

For the briefest instant, Fina had wondered whether Treyen had simply come to visit her to hear her talk. He was, after all, simply nodding and stuff. Little talk. Small talk.
Huh? Why'd she leave? "While I love my parents and all, leaving was what I needed at the time. And really, it was the best decision I've made." It's what eventually led her to a position at Hogwarts, after all. "It gave me the chance to grow up."
Oh good. Arya was alright. "Well... just because, ..." she hesitated, hoping to Merlin that the Head Boy wouldn't take offense. "She is the more sympathetic one... yes? The one who knows ... just what to say...?" As in, why didn't he bring Tye to her first? Though she didn't voice that; she hoped he understood . . .

Fina nodded. "No problem and thank you," she said simply to the girl.

Not one... not two... but three knocks.
Fina glanced up from her work and wondered what kind of urgent request awaited her now. Curiously staring at the back of the door for a moment longer than she should have - the student could have ran off after all before she had a chance to come in - Fina finally opened her mouth.
"Come in .... please."

Evelyn took a deep breath and entered.
"Hello Professor." Evelyn started hurriedly. "I'm really sorry to disturb you but I just wanted to talk to you about something..." Huh. Trey? Evelyn's face registered surprise when she noticed the Head Boy was in the room as well. "..important." The girl continued, turning towards Hadley again.
"I mean..professor..only if you have the time, of course." Obviously, if she didn't..in fact, Evelyn hoped she didn't..the girl would just leave. Gosh. She had a feeling that this was a bad idea.
Bypassing the door a sliver shaped wolf ran into the office and stopped right infront of Professor Bentley. Opening its mouth as if to howl a voice the clear voice of Professor Roslund could be heard in its stead
"Professor Hadley, come to the balloon party tent ASAP! Some things have happened. I need your assistance with the students." With its message given the silver wolf dissapeard in a shroud of mist.

Oh. Maybe he understood what she'd meant. Like the one time he'd rather spend his summer in Dorset than in Appleby. The one time he didn't want to be reminded of Quidditch. Around two summers ago, was it? Yet he hadn't meant for that situation to make him grow in any way, he just wanted to get away for a little while.
Back where he thought he belonged to. Ironically, he'd spent more time in London that summer.
"I see." He smiled. And that was all he said about it. This summer he'll be trying the 'being on his own' thing for good.
WHAT?! So, the Head Boy was better off not talking to little Hufflepuffs?? He wasn't precisely offended, but Hadley was being so cool about it that it made his eyes widen just a bit. She was right. "True." Arya was the most compassionate one, by the way, and she knew her way around words much better than he did.

The boy smiled at Eve, and then looked at Professor Hadley, "I guess...I should be going, Professor," he's spent a great amount of time in here too, "Thanks, and...I'll see you around." Like in classes and such.
Nod.
Then he stood up, nodded goodbye to Eve and walked out the door.

Talk to her about something? But ... oh...
"No, of course," Fina half-smiled, motioned the girl to a seat. But before the girl could even begin to say what she had to say, which she guessed would have to maybe do with either the Arithmancy homework OR with what Williamson had summoned her to the Sanctuary about. Something she was still slightly annoyed over. His reaction about some creature of course, not the summoning.

Fina blinked at the site of a silvery wolf that just appeared into her office. And spoke. In Edvard's voice.
Something has happened?!? OH no!!
Her first thought of course went to her Hufflepuffs; she wasn't naive to the stories about Hufflepuffs and their unique abilities to meet death.
Her next thought though, her gaze flickered to Evelyn apologetically. "I'm sorry, Evelyn, we'll talk, ... I promise, but for now..." she gulped, hoping the girl would understand and she pushed back from her chair and motioned with her hand to usher the girl from her office.

A wizard of few words. Not that it was bad a thing. Treyen, Fina knew, was capable of great things. He wouldn't have been made Head Boy if he wasn't. But his approach to things.... was different from Arya's, to say the least.
And then, before she realized it, he was up and leaving her.
"Well then, bye Treyen. See you." Yup. Because she was off now, apparently. The grounds or something. Some catastrophic event.
Or something. She had no idea really. But she did know she needed water before she headed out, despite how selfish that seemed. She wouldn't be any use, after all, if she passed out from dehydration. So a quick stop at the Great Hall, then the Grounds.
