This particular room has served as an office to a number of different professors over the years. Some of which include revered professors such as Septima Vector, Bree Geltz, Kali O'hara, Lesley Modulo Fox, Matthias Pythagoras Wenlock, Onyx Xavier Frost, and of course, Macadrian Ashling Shackleton-Clark. With each new Professor that has made this office homey, Josephina is sure they each brought their own particular flair to its decorations to accommodate their tastes. Just as Josephina did when she first entered upon this room just several years ago now.
The walls have been painted a light blue-gray color and there are a handful of paintings hung around the room, giving off a rather comfortable aura. One of the paintings is a rendition repainted by Josephina, herself, of a canal near her hometown in Perugia, Italy. There is a framed miniature Italian flag, as well as a third painting of of the famous Leaning Tower of Pisa.
As with typical office decorum, there is a large, polished wooden desk, that once belonged to each of her predecessors. There are a few neat stacks of papers and worksheets on the desk. There are also a few framed photographs sitting on her desk; one of Josephina posed with her two sisters, one of her parents, Nicole and Marcus, sitting on their couch. There's also a photograph of a baby girl, about toddler-aged, who will crawl around in the photo and maybe even disappear completely if you watch long enough, but have no fear, she'll be back! And an even more recent photograph, which you might recognize as your Herbology Professor with your Arithmancy one, taken on their recent trip to Italy. Behind the large wooden desk sits a black executive style chair. Directly on the other side of the desk - where visitors may sit - are two smaller black chairs, but still just as comfortable.
There's a bookcase on the left side, which contains various titles that Josephina collected over the years. Some these include, but are not limited to, The Complete Book of Numerology, New Theory of Numerology, Numerology and Gramatica, A Look Into The Future, and Olde and Forgotten Bewitchments and Charmes. There are also muggle classic books by Charles Dickens and Jane Austen, for which are a few of Fina's guilty pleasures.
Though the door is nearly always open, proper etiquette dictates knocking and addressing your identity before entering. Especially as Professor Hadley likely has her back to the door where she is playing with her puppy named Baisley or her kitten received from recent graduate, Lorelai Bristol, in which she conveniently named Bristol. Just entering without permission is rude and punishable with either point deduction and/or detention for being disrespectful.
OOC: No, there is no waiting area, but please do not clog up this thread with useless chatter of 'waiting to enter'. Have your character knock and then wait for Professor Hadley to respond to either enter or to come back later.
There are plenty of places around the school that allow for chat with your friends; Professor Hadley's office is NOT the place for it and doing as such will be cause for appropriate discipline actions.
Any questions or concerns or appointment requests, please PM me.
Messer didn't get any chance to meet his head of house at the staff table. So he's hoping to catch Prof. Hadley at her office. Their head of house is the current Arithmancy professor and if he's not mistaken Arithmancy classroom was located in the second floor he just hoped that Professor Hadley's office was still in the same floor.
And its his luck that Prof. Hadley's office was indeed in the same floor as the Arithmancy classroom. The eleven years old slowly made his was towards the professor office. The first thing he saw was the door was ajar. He knocked the door first so the Professor will know his presence and its the proper etiquette. Knocked the door first before entering someone office. He remembered his father said that when he's a little. "Umm..Hello, Professor Hadley. I'm Edvard Messer. May I come in?" he asked politely.

Josephina was not ready yet for the term start. That much was clear from the opening feast, when all the new staff seemed to be jokers or something. Though maybe it wasn't her who wasn't ready, but them? Frowning, she stared at her desktop calendar for a moment or two, before selecting a quill and began to check off some dates there.
For only a moment though, as a knock was heard on her door, startling the woman. Looking up with a start, she stared at a young boy she remembered seeing get sorted. Into her house, if she recalled correctly, which reminded her. She FORGOT to visit the common room before settling into her office and make herself known to them. Was everything alright? Had little Messer gotten lost and unable to find the common room? Where were Arya and Treyen in showing the new first years to the common room?
"Yes, yes... Is everything alright, dear?" Fina asked, getting ready to stand. She'd show him the ropes. She would. Besides, he had this innocence about him that she just couldn't resist.

Alyssa walked up to the door of her Head of House and Arithmancy Studies Professor, Professor. Hadley's office. She was interested in doing some early reading on the subject and wanted to ask the Professor which books she should check out in the library. She also had another question but that would depend on how busy she was. Alyssa made sure that her shoes were clean and she had what she wanted to give the Professor in her jacket pocket before knocking on the door. KNOCK! KNOCK!
"Excuse me Professor if you have a moment to spare, may I speak with you?"Alyssa stood at the entrance of the office requesting permission to enter.

Was it alright to visit your head of house with an empty hand? He's thinking to bring Prof. Hadley something but he doesn't has any slightest idea what to bring. Foods? But he needs to go to the kitchen and that mean he had to face the house elves. Nope kitchen was the last place he want to explore. He just hoped that Prof. Hadley doesn't mind that he didn't bring anything with him.
"No, Mam. Everything is alright." More then alright actually. "I'm sorry to bother you but Arya said that you're our Head of House and I didn't get a chance to introduce myself at the feast so I decided to come here and do that." he said. "I'm Messer. Edvard Messer." Well, she obviously know that genius, you already identify yourself earlier."I'm one of the first year who's lucky enough to be in your house." In case Professor Hadley doesn't know that he's a first year.

Before the new young puff though could answer if everything was alright another Puff appeared in the doorway; this one though, Hadley recognized from last year, though the girl looked a bit older ... stronger perhaps?
"Miss Potter! Alyssa!" Fina smiled at the now-third year. "Welcome back! Of course, of course, come in. Just meeting up with one of your new housemates," she inclined her head toward Edvard. "But have a seat." Or maybe they'll be getting up soon if everything WASN'T alright with Edvard and he DID need help finding the common room. But Alyssa could show him...

OH good. Everything WAS alright and Arya had even filled him about their Head of House! How sweet of Arya AND him to want to introduce himself. "That's very kind of you and please, don't you know? You're not the ones lucky to be in Hufflepuff, but rather, Hufflepuff is lucky to have you in their house." Obviously. "So Arya filled you in about the school some? Excited for classes?" He should be. It was going to be a good year.

Messer noticed another knock from Prof. Hadley's door his eyes went to the door and saw Alyssa, the older girl he met back in the feast. He gave her a small smile. Apparently he's not the only Huffie who need to visit Prof. Hadley.
Then his eyes went back to the Arithmancy Professor and his cheek went a slight pink went she told him that Hufflepuff is lucky to have you in their house. That's really sweet of her. Arya was right, their Head of House is definitely a very nice person. "Yes. Arya filled me with some school stuffs and she also introduced me to the Head boy, Treyen." he said. "Very much so." He can't wait to learn how to use his wand properly and other things. "And I very much looking forward to your class but I have you know that I'm not really good with Artithmancy." And he might be a regular visitor in this office because of that.

"Good morning, Professor. Hello Edvard." Alyssa greeted the Professor and smiled at the younger boy she had met at the Feast. "I'm sorry to interrupt your conversation so I'll make my visit as quick as possible. I hope that you had a great summer, Professor. Anyway, while I was back home, I came across this painting of Italy at a flea market in Venice Beach. The vendor told me it was a painting of Perugia, Italy. I remember someone telling me that you used to live there. So I had to get it for you." Alyssa pulled out a small canvas painting from her mokeskin purse, and using both her hands presented it to Professor Hadley. "I hope you like it. Uh! And while I was there I saw this cute stuffed dog and a stuffed kitten and they reminded me of your pets and I just had to get it for them. I hope you don't mind."Alyssa asked the Professor handing over the toys to her. 'Okay time to ask your question, Lyssie.' Alyssa thought to herself.
"Uh... Professor. After last term, I've realized that I need to read up more about Arithmancy. Could you recommend any books that I can read to help me brush up on the subject?". Alyssa remembered how she had struggled to understand what the Professor had been teaching them last term. Alyssa was determined to be more well versed on the subject this term.
Mom says I have no sense of direction, so I packed my bags and right.
Oakey knocked on the door politely and waited to see if Professor Hadley would answer. would she remember who he was. If he hadn't missed a year surely she would, but Oakey had grown since then and could be slightly unrecognizable.
would she need some kind of reminder? What did Oakey have that would give Hadley a hint? He shuffled through each of his pockets hoping to grab something he pulled out the half eaten toy mouse, Stupid he said aloud That wouldn't do anything. He clenched the item in his left hand and looked at the back of it for just a second. The scar on his hand barely visible anymore.

Minerva was on a mission there were only a few professor she really wanted to talk with before classes began and this was one of them. She knocked on Professor Hadley's door. She felt weird knocking on professors doors the first day back. She hadn't even known where professors were located this time last year she smiled to herself.
Nah. He didn't bother with the knocking, well he did knock once, but he stepped inside right afterwards. Treyen did smile at the Hufflepuffs that were oh-so-kindly waiting for Professor Hadley to allow them inside before walking in himself.
And he wasn't alone. He was tugging one Hufflepuff boy along.
The Head Boy was sporting a nice smile, and he greeted the ones inside with a nod each. "Pardon my interruption," he started to say, eyes on Hadley as he lightly pushed the Huffie boy to the front, "I hope you had a very pleasant summer, Professor Hadley." And he also hoped she was ready for this kid he'd brought along.
"Here's a Hufflepuff who wishes to be resorted." There. Treyen nudged the boy to speak up, if he so wanted to do it.

He was walking too fast! Tyler had to jog a little to keep up with thee boy's obviously longer legs. Were head-boys suppose to be this rough? He didn't think so. He frowned up at the boy briefly as he tugged him along to where ever.
The good thing about this was, he was keeping his promise and taking him to be resorted. That's all he wanted. He just didn't get why everyone was acting like he had committed some kind of crime.
He glanced at thee other waiting outside before he was tugged in by Treyen and presented to a woman. He knew she was her head of house from the speech given at the feast yesterday. Yes he was paying attention, even if he was sulking.
He straightened his clothes when Treyen pushed him forward and frowned up at him before turning his attention to the woman professor.
"I don't like yellow..it's girly and it's a sissy house." He folded his arms." And the girls are crazy too." That was even more worrying than the girlyness of the hufflepuff house.

It never failed from people who claimed not be good with numbers.

And Alyssa interjected, stating her purpose for being there rather quickly. Wait... she came to visit because she had GIFTS for her? Aw, shucks! "You know, you shouldn't have. You really shouldn't have. And I'm not quite sure who told you I was from Perugia..." Unless it was someone who knew Italy and recognized the painting in her office, which was probable. ".. but well, that's awfully sweet of you. If you don't mind though, perhaps we can put the stuffed pets in the common room? As a reminder that I'm always watching." Just a thought.
Ah. So Alyssa hadn't just come here to give her presents. Well that was a relief. But oh... of course. "Well the Complete Book of Numerology is always helpful for brushing up on the basics. Though if you wanted more complicated than the basics, then there's New Theory of Numerology and A Look into the Future. All of those books should be available in the Library."

In the midst of her ramblings, more knocks on the door. A quick peek through the ajar door and Hadley recognized the young male and female. Apparently she SHOULD have gone to the common room today, considering they were now all coming to her.
"You two - Miss Wheatborn. Mister Gunter - may come in... and take a seat, if you'd like."

Another knock. Only this one didn't wait to be allowed inside. Oh, but it was just her Prefect. Clearly it was something IMPORTANT if he just barged inside her office.
"Pleasant enough, yes, Prefect Lockhart," she replied dutifully, concern though highlighting her tone.
A Hufflepuff who wished to be resorted? Her eyes flicked from the seventh year to the much smaller boy behind him as she waited for him to state his case.

"A sissy house?" Fina frowned at these descriptions the boy used to describe her house. "Yellow is in fact though a neutral color when it comes to boys and girls. It is the color of sunshine." But before she carried on about that.... "And the girls are crazy in all the houses, but don't worry, many girls your age feel the same about you boys." Cooties, was the correct terminology, if she recalled correctly.
"But anyway, do you know what makes a Hufflepuff so great? It isn't even the fact that we're loyal and hardworking. That we know how to appreciate our friends." She paused, looking around at each of the other Huffies in her office, before turning back to the first year. "Mister Bellaire. A Hufflepuff is more than just an insolent nobody, with no defining traits. In fact, we can be anything we want to be. We can be brave and courageous, witty or intelligent, and we can even be ambitious and cunning. But above all, Hufflepuffs are well known good flyers.
When the sorting hat says, Good Hufflepuff, she took the rest and taught them all she knew, it really is just that. We're good-hearted people. We might be the rest because we have just SO much epicness in us that rather than trying to divide it up, Hufflepuff it is."
And yes, that was a long-winded speech. But the kid needed it. Considering resorting was not an option.

Gunter...Gunter? Oh right, I'm Mister Gunter! AH, she remembered me!
Oakey was surprised. He let his left hand loosen up and the Toy Mouse dropped to the floor. He walked into the office after Hadley offered him a seat. Hello Professor Hadley, Long time no see.
"I don't like yellow..it's girly and it's a sissy house." He folded his arms." And the girls are crazy too." That was even more worrying than the girlyness of the hufflepuff house.
No, he didn't care that Tye was tired from almost falling behind at each step he took. He ought to be grateful Arithmancy was not on the seventh floor. Or near the Greenhouses. Though, why would it be near the Greenhouses, Lockhart?
What was this kid sayiiiing?
Girly? He'll show him girly. Just...probably now wasn't the best of times. Treyen folded his arms as he kept on listening...though, by now, he should've stopped doing so.
But he couldn't help himself. "No, the crazy ones are in Slytherin." He chuckled once he'd spoken, and regretted doing so as soon as he did. Eyes on Hadley now, "I mean, most of them, because Professor Lafay is not crazy." But seriously, the girls on the Slytherin team were. Except Victoria. And Sierra. And Harlow, Harlow wasn't crazy. She was incredibly nice, probably missorted, like Tye.
Lola had ruined it for them all, CLEARLY.

PREFECT LOCKHART!
THAT, that right there...was AWESOME! He couldn't help himself this time with the display of one of those Lockhart smiles. That was another reason to love Hadley. Because right now, he did, he actually missed being called Prefect, regardless of how he still was one.
Prefect.
Perfect. We all love Hadley for a reason.
So, clearly, he completely missed everything she said and got lost in his own head. He was even looking at the painting instead of the little boy he'd pushed so hard for...no apparent reason, because he could care less if Tye didn't want to be in Hufflepuff. He'll have no other choice.
So, that was it, right? He just had to keep on thinking he wasn't Head Boy, just one of the Prefects. Less scary.
It was probably for the best that he heard nothing Hadley was saying, because...honestly? The color of sunshine was going to make Tye proud of being a Hufflepuff? It'd probably make Treyen want to be resorted as well.

It never failed from people who claimed not be good with numbers.
Messer cringed when she heard Alyssa called him by his first name. No. Not his first name please. He hated it when people called him by his first name.
He turned his gaze back to Mommy Badger. Teacher?! Yaiks. "Thanks, Professor." her words really comforting. He likes his head of house. "But, I'm still allow to ask you a question or two if I'm not understand something, right?" Because he's sure he'd find a lot of difficulties along the way.
Then suddenly Messer saw their head boy entered Professor Hadley's office dragging a boy with him. Isn't the boy he met at the feast who didn't want to be a Hufflepuff? Then he's pretty socked when Treyen said that the boy asked for a resorting. Were they allow to do that?

The colour of sunshine? Tyler tilted his head and looked at the woman as she proceeded to give him a speech. If he had to endure this to be sorted then so be it. He would do that. He didn't even know that sunshine had a colour..colour of banana yes and rubber duckies and lemons and most of Rhea's clothing but not sunshine. But maybe he would be able to see the yellow when he got older.
He let her carry on though and the more she did the wider his gape got. See here was the thing. Nobody told him all this. His mother was a snake and his dad was a gryffindor. Of course Rhea went on and on about her house but to no great detail and well even if she did he tuned her out more than half the time.
"No one told me that.." he muttered looking up at her. He looked at Treyen too."And he didn't tell me that either!" he said pointing at Treyen.Yeah mister big head boy you forgot to mention this at the feast. He eyed him.
Clearly none of them had been attacked by HufflePuff girls..or lived with one either..otherwise they would not be saying this to him right now." You don't understand..they have attacked me..all hufflepuff girls, not slytherin ones.." hear that headboy? Wasn't he suppose to protect him anyways?
"If..if you don't mind..I'll give this hufflepuff thing a try..but if I change my mind will you resort me?" He gave her his best, 'gets me out of trouble puss in boots eyes he could muster after his question.

"Hello Professor, I see you are very busy so I won't take much time. I actually wanted to ask you at the end of last term, but never got the chance. I really want to do well at Gobbstones this year and was wondering if there is any advice on how to get better at the game. Also, I want to let you know if you would need any extra help with anything this year please let me know." she smiled at the others in the room, so many students it felt a bit crowded..

".. but well, that's awfully sweet of you.
"Thank you for suggesting the books that I could read up. I will definitely check them out in the Reference library. As for the stuffed toys, that is a good idea to place them there."'Just as long as no one steals them. I may have to put a tracker on them.'Alyssa thought to herself.
"Could I ask one more thing, Professor? I was wondering whether you needed help tidying up your office or chores you needed doing. I could even walk your dog for you, especially if you're busy and don't have time to do it. I'll be asking Professor Bentley whether I could walk Caltex too. If you have already assigned somebody to help you, I'd be more than happy to work with them." Alyssa smiled at the other students who were in the office.

A nice smile went to Messer. He was one of the cool first years he'd liked at the feast.
Hopefully, the idea of resorting will only stay in this office, because it wasn't possible. Yet he knew Messer was glad he was a Huffie, so, no problems there. Treyen still wanted to talk to him, properly, not via Arya. But not right now.

"Tsk! It is rude to point your fingers at others, didn't you know?" So, Treyen no longer cared for Tye's fate and opinions when it came to Hogwarts' houses...well, for the time being...but he did care for manners.
And...he also suppressed a laugh for the whole 'Huffie girls attacked me!' scenario. It was incredibly hilarious, honest.
This only managed to bring him into a better mood, since the memories of his first year came to mind. He was not rude like Tye was, he was sure of that. And he had his best friend to keep him company. Maybe that's all Tye needed, a best mate at his own house.

Oakey was surprised. He let his left hand loosen up and the Toy Mouse dropped to the floor. He walked into the office after Hadley offered him a seat. Hello Professor Hadley, Long time no see.
Had she momentarily obliviated the third year? Hadley tilted her head as Oakey seemed stunned by her recollection of his name and then just smiled. She had a good memory for her Hufflepuffs, obviously. "Welcome back." He had been missing last term, hadn't he? "What brings you here?" Besides to let me know officially you're back.

Josephina had to stifle a laugh when Treyen informed him the crazy ones were in Slytherin. And then added that Lafay wasn't crazy. Despite herself, she DID laugh at that.
If anyone of the Professors were crazy, she was sure that Hecate Lafay was number one on that list. But even though there were no Snakes in her office right now, she bit her tongue to refrain from speaking ill of her colleague. Instead, she just shook her head, ignoring Treyen's obviously dazed state of mind.

Besides, coming from a family of Ravenclaws, over-analyzing is second nature..." Not that she had been making any of it up in her speech. She wasn't. But sometimes, maybe it helped to see if you're sorted into a house different from your family, it's not uncommon. After all, didn't the History books mention something of Sirius Black being a Lion in a family of Snakes.
"They attacked you? What do you mean?" And clearly it must have been his inquisitive nature.
"It's not in my authority to resort you." She said dismally, really hoping she could have prolonged this a little longer.. "The sorting hat knows people better than any subject at Hogwarts can teach you. It knows your mind. It sorted you into Hufflepuff for a reason." Now go find that reason.

Gobstones? Well that was a new request. People never approached her about gobstones. "Know the rules. You saw and participated some last term, so there isn't really much I can say to give you advice on how to play. It's all about strategy though." Unlike Quidditch, which was team-based.
Oh. A helper. "I'll keep that in mind." She nodded, not giving her an affirmative yes or no.

Fina nodded when Alyssa mentioned she would read up about the books and as the girl agreed about the stuffed toys too.
And then nodded again when the girl asked about one more thing, fighting the urge to say 'you just did'. Before she could answer, the girl asked and offered - like Minnie did - to help her. "I don't need help right now, but I'll keep that in mind." She responded simply. As she did with Minerva. Later in the term, when she started to get stressed once everything - lessons and homework and gobstones - were underway.

Minerva smiled at the Professor. "I won't take up anymore of your time Professor Hadley. I plan on working very hard this term in classes as well as I think I'm going to try out for the Quidditch team and of course I would like to play Gobstones as well it was really fun last term. Thank you for taking the time to see me and if you do ever need any help with anything please let me know." Minerva turned to head out of the office.
"No." The word automatically escaped her lips before she could help herself. And despite herself, she laughed again. "I'm kidding, I'm kidding! Of course you can ask a question or two. Messer heard the Professor speech about being Hufflepuff and stuffs. That's very beautiful speech. Color of sunshine?! Wow! He never thought about that. Hufflepuff House Of The Sunshine
NO?
"Bu-bu-but." He pouted. Then to his surprise Messer heard his Head of House laughing. She was joking? She WAS joking. "I thought you're serious there, Professor." he sighed in relief.

Thank you, He said when she welcomed him back. No reason really he replied to her next question I had just heard that you were our head of house and well when I attended last you weren't He grinned pulling out a box of chocolates. Probably.
Once again Tyler folded him arms across his chest. It had sort of become his thing after seeing Treyen doing it in the great hall. See it had made him look more intimidating and what not and since, he , Tyler, wasn't very tall even for his age, this arm folding business would have to do.
"Yeah well it's rude to not tell me stuff and allow crazy girls to beat me up!" He tilted his head up to eye the headboy with a mean look. Well even if his look didn't come out very mean, it was the intent that mattered...right?

Okay so maybe he wouldn't have known all this on the first day but shouldn't they tell you after or something? That odd hat had mentioned something when he first sat on the stool but he didn't remember much now." Well maybe someone should tell us after we get sorted so we don't feel bad after being sorted into sissy houses."..he paused.." almost sissy houses.." he corrected himself.
"Well.." he dropped his hands from their folded position, better to dramatize with.." I was moping to myself and a bigger boy started chewing me about about not wanting to be in the yellow houses and then a crazy girl walked up to me and started yelling, then she left. Then this morning, I went to the duck pond and I was trying to catch the ducks when a girl in my year started yelling at me, then she hugged me..three times! Even though I told her to leave me alone..then..." He frowned." She said I was cute.." Hmph.
What was this? The headboy lied to him?! This woman could not resort him? He threw an I'm going to get you look at the boy then turned back to professor Hadley.
"So then who does?" His shoulders slumped in disappointment then he nodded but said nothing to what the professor said. He supposed he would have to either end up liking this house or find some other way to fix this.
