The eyebrow went back into place and his smile returned. "What are you doing this summer?" THAT was not the same question he asked Lewis.
.........
But his eyes were on Keefer now. The cat. Walnut? Yeah, he must be talking about him. "This is Kurumi's. He's Walnut. Self-proclaimed King of...the Gryffindor Common Room...and almost of my shoes, once." That ought to explain it. Marking territories was a hobby of this cat.
Nothing? Then why the look? Keefer was even more confused than ever, but apparently the graduated boy decided to drop it, because he pursued a different topic. Ah, the classic.
"Probably the same thing I get up to most summers, I'd imagine. Helping mum and da tend to all the Abraxans. Summer is busier because that's when they give birth usually, so an extra hand can never hurt." No, he didn't need all the gory details. Especially with so many girls in the compartment.
"But, I had also been toying with the idea of getting the team back together at my place. A sort of reunion, I guess." Not that it would've been years since they had all been together, but whatever. "We could throw the Quaffle around a bit, have a barbecue, just hang out." What did cool people do at parties, anyhow? "You'd be more than welcome as our senior member, of course."
Kurumi's cat. Yes, he had managed to figure out that much for himself, Treyen. "King Cat, eh? Well, in that case." He made a bit of a bowing gesture in the direction of Treyen's lap. I don't need King Walnut proclaiming my shoes to be his subjects.
So, Treyen won't be seeing Kurumi this summer? But then she'll get back to Hogwarts without them having a chance to hang out a bit more before the beginning of the term.
That...wasn't exactly the real reason to be worried about, actually. It was more along the lines of who will be comforting if her mother passes away this summer? Suddenly, he was incredibly glad Lewis will be there. Returning to Hogwarts. So at least Kurumi will have one badger to get hugs from. Correct?
Then 'the end of summer' held such a dark meaning. Involving the end of many more things.
He couldn't bear the thought of them all. It could even mean the end of Kurumi as he knows her. And he could do nothing to prevent that from happening. Horrible.
So, he kept his gaze on her, not intending to hide his emotions at all. Only his eyes were the ones giving away the worry. "Write to me. Every week. At least once." It was a demand, an order, even. She ought to keep him inform. And...if he had to go to Japan...well...he'll manage to make a quick trip.
About Kurumi's father..., Treyen managed a smile. "I remember when he didn't," he said, shaking his head to keep the memory from coming back to him, "It'll be a nice change," most certainly. Then he nodded about the 'congratulations' part. Hopefully that's all Mr. Hollingberry wants. Unless Kurumi had mentioned something else to her father.
Then he noticed. The glaring towards Adam and the tone in which she answered. Plus the water in her eyes. Sorry, Walnut. His hand was off the cat as it intended to land on Kurumi's...until he realized whose other hand he was holding. Needless to say, his hand never touched Kurumi's. Nor did it return to Walnut either...
...because he got distracted by Keefer.
How come Treyen always forgot about the Abraxans? He even wondered why Arya and Keefer weren't as close as one would assume, given that they both liked Abraxans.
The Head Boy nodded, paying little attention to the 'birth' part. Thank Merlin he paid the smallest amount of attention to that bit...or...well, let us hope none had to give birth while they were at Keefer's.
Because, yes, Treyen heard that part about the reunion, and he'll love to come. His summer plans were already increasing, and he remembered when he told Ellie that she'll have him for the rest of the summer once he returned from Simon's...but surely she could spare him for a day, right?
"I'd like that." Except...the 'senior' thing...didn't need to be mentioned. Made him feel old. And he was only one year older than Keefer, anyway. Probably. "You should do it." Lewis could make it, his plans weren't too many.
And...King cat? He probably loved what Keefer did.

Keefer noticed Treyen's hand!flail and wondered what he had been planning to do. He attempted to save the still BigHead Boy by plowing ahead with their conversation. That would distract people from the sudden movement, yes?
"I figured you would. Minerva already said to count her in. Actually, she seemed more keen on seeing the Abraxans than playing Quidditch together.." This was a sentiment he neither shared nor understood. Quidditch was far more enjoyable, in his opinion. Though maybe that's because I spend my entire summer around the horses with no opportunity to play Quidditch.
"I haven't gotten a chance to talk to anyone else about it yet, though. Save you, of course." And he seemed up for it. "It all depends on what my parents say. They're not usually too keen on large shindigs. But hopefully I'll be able to convince them on this one. It would probably just mean not having a social life the rest of the summer." Which was fine with him, really. It was only two months, after all.
