| | of Professor Scabior As you enter the office the first of many things that you notice is the warmth that just seems to radiate inside the room, as Professor Scabior likes to keep his office quite cozy, more for his benefit than yours. The burgundy painted walls with the splash of gold here and there seem to contribute to the warmth, as well as probably sparking a rumour that Dash was in fact a Gryffindor. Numerous paintings of famous Historians both Magical and Muggle are hung throughout the office.
To your left is a giant bookcase, filled with books that Dash has collected through the years. Many of the books are filled with information regarding history. His favourite ones include Nature's Nobility: A Wizarding Genealogy, A Guide to Medieval Sorcery, Notable Magical Names of Our Time, The Rise and Fall of the Dark Arts, and of course the ever so popular Hogwarts, A History. Maybe if you are lucky you can even spot a book that’s really close to Dash’s heart, one that is in fact his own creation.
Within range of the entrance is small table off to the side, on top of it sits a Wizard’s Chess board. He isn’t too great at it though you are free to challenge him if you wish, just don’t get to upset if he declines. The main component of the office is the large mahogany desk, right at the back. Placed in front of it are two dark brown leather arm chairs which resemble the same style as the black desk chair on the other side. On top of the desk sits a few scattered pieces of parchments with little notes jotted down, an ink bottle and a quill which are pushed off to the side, a small teapot levitating two inches off the desk, and finally a picture frame faced toward him and away from prying eyes. OOC: Please do not post your character in here unless I have given you permission. If you want to obtain permission please post your character knocking on the door of the office in the Corridor Outside the History of Magic Office thread. |

The kid really didn't know what he was talking about. Scabior was a great story teller. "You're welcome." Without standing up he took the boy's hand giving it a firm shake. "Enjoy the rest of your day." Don't be lazy. Go read a book. That was his advice.

Evelyn entered the office, nervously fidgeting with the strap of her bag.
Oh, wow.
The sixth year looked around the office, her eyes taking in the brightly painted walls, the numerous paintings and a huge bookcase. Like, gigantic. So many books. Jeez. Who read so much? Scabior, apparently. She even spotted a chess board on a table near the entrance.
Um..anyway..Evelyn stood awkwardly near one of the arm chairs and waited for Scabby to speak.

Okay. They were allowed inside, and apparently, Eve wasn't speaking...and neither was him? Scabior was going to have a lot of talking to do if he wanted his office to be filled with voices.
Either way, he stepped inside and, unlike Eve, took a seat.
Scabior did say they could take a seat, no problem there. So, Professor, anything you want to tell us? Or ask us? Because Treyen was NOT accepting any other task from Scabior. FYI.

Scabior made his way over to his desk and took a seat. He had no plans of keeping them for long. Five minutes at the most. "I heard about what happened at the Sanctuary from your Head of House." Come face to face with a clearly angry Josephina had actually been amusing. Scabior was a bit put out though, he did actual expect the two to get the creature easily. It should have been obvious to him from the start, never send a Hufflepuff to do a Slytherin's boy. "Please be aware that I didn't intend for you two to be chewed up. Williamson is just slightly crazy." Really, which man cared about creatures so much? Scabior had just wanted to uphold the agreement they had made in the first place
He yawned. "Anyways, how many points did he take?"

Slightly crazy? Well, that was putting it very mildly. Ah. That's it? He wasn't going to apologize? It was his fault that they ended up losing a huge number of points in the first place. Humph. "Twenty points each." Evelyn said, shortly. Frankly, she was annoyed that he was taking all this so lightly. They got yelled at AND lost points but he was acting like nothing had happened at all. Silly man.

Oh? Eve was still standing? Treyen was doing quite the opposite and getting comfortable on his chair. He was trying very hard to not look as if it bothered him to be here at all. Why? Because he really doesn't want to be here. He was done with Scabior, wasn't he? Like, why would the man want them up in his office if they failed to succeed?
The Hufflepuff girl was first to answer his question. And all he could do was wonder what had their Head of House told Scabior. Or in what tone. That sparked his curiosity, but his position remained the same. "Exactly what Eve said. Twenty points each." Your POINT Scabior? DIDN'T Hadley tell you that?? Because Hadley knew.

Hadley hadn't been exaggeration but Merlin these kids were snippy. Like 20 points could really mattered in the long run. Weren't both of them old enough to see that the point system was only a way that the Professors bribed them to be good?
Hufflepuffs were all dull. "See over there-" he pointed to his bookcase. "Both of you pick out an interesting enough book, and bring them back here....Go on then" His tone was completely seriously. Do it, because Scabior said so.

And he was making him stand up? Just when Treyen was the most comfortable? Why? And why was he asking them for a book? He was entirely suspicious of Scabior now, but he didn't hesitate on looking back to the bookcase and...sigh, he had so many books to properly read their titles from where he sat.
He got up soon enough and was tempted to choose 'Sonnets of a Sorcecer' IF Scabior had it in there. Why? Because he'll read it and bother BOTH Scabior and Williamson for the rest of their lives.
As he went through them, Treyen suppressed the need to look back at Scabior. He had...almost every possible book one could think of, yet he wasn't finding the sonnets one, and there was ONE empty space which he supposed could only belong to the 'Invisible Book of Inivisibility', no? Either that one, or he was missing one. Also, 'A Guide to Medieval Sorcery' caught his eye. But there was one that seemed to belong more on WWW's book case, if that one person even read.
'Dreadful Denizens of the Deep'. Is this where Scabior got his love for the lobalug? The thing couldn't be consider dreadful, truth be told. Then there was 'Magical Hieroglyphs and Logograms'...which brought everything back to the start, no? But...there was a reason for his dislike towards Runes...so...let's choose Saylen and go with creatures. "Dreadful Denizens of the Deep." That was his choice, whether or not the book didn't belong in that bookcase. That way, Treyen will know everything he failed to see in the class he'd oh-so-intentionally missed. YOUR first class, Scabior.

Book? What was WRONG with him!? They were here to talk about the precious lobalug, right? Not browse though the bookcase and find interesting books. She opened her mouth to start arguing but finally decided against it. She didn't want to stretch out the meeting..if she could help it.
Evelyn stood glaring at him; until she noticed Trey get up. Ugh. With an annoyed expression on her face, she turned and stalked towards the massive bookcase and picked out the first book she saw. Sorry, Scabior but she really didn't have the patience to look for an interesting book. Humph. "Important Modern Magical Discoveries." Evelyn stood behind the arm chair again, wondering when this nightmare was going to get over.

| ★ BabyQuad ★ PERRY THE PLATYPUS ★ Ern's Fave ★ dangerous with brooms ★ Was there some kind of rule against smacking a student over the head with a book? Scabior eyed the two Huffepuffs as he thought about it. They had an attitude in their tone that he just didn't care for.
It would only be a small smack.
To think, Hufflepuff has actually been his second favourite house compared to Slytherin when he roamed the school as a student.
Scabior simply drummed his fingers against his desk as he waited for them each to pick out a book. It wasn't exactly interesting to watch but the small differences in their personalities in which Treyen took time to decide his book, and Evelyn just grabbed the first one in front of her.
He could only guess which Puff hated being here the most. "Wonderful." He said in a horrible dull tone. Yeah, he took notice in your choice Head Boy. "You two follow instructions so well. To think, you both still listen to me after I got you in trouble."
Students could be like minions! Scabior was silent for a couple of minutes. "Ten points to each of you for trying to obtain the lobalug...even if you did fail." He paused. "Ten more points each for making Williamson almost have a heart attack." A large smirk spread across his face at the image. "And....another five for the pair of you for getting those books that were so far out of my reach." Good?
He made a fanning motion with one of his hands. "Put the books back, and both of you may leave."

MAN! He hated the sound of that 'Wonderful'. For a moment there, Treyen wished he was back with WWW and watching the man get all hysteric about a little lobalug. It was better knowing FULL well what was going on through someone's mind than not knowing at ALL. And with Williamson you got it all. Even yelling. And accusations.
Scabior's irony simply bothered him.
Especially the instructions part. But his face remained unchanged. The same neutrality as before...EVEN WHEN SCABIOR STOPPED THE TALKING ALTOGETHER!!! It was all freaking him out, thank Merlin Treyen didn't react like Williamson. Or else he'd gotten in trouble with Scabior.
O_O
Okay, now his face changed, because his eyes widened. He was giving them ten whole points for failing?! Well, Scabior was an odd one. And...oh. Well, Treyen couldn't help but smirk at the next ten points. You know, he'll do that every single day, gladly. It'd been sort of fun to see WWW behaving like such a girl. It hadn't been fun to see him disrespect their Head of House, though. Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiit... ..
....the books actually meant nothing? Well, yeah, five points, but truly nothing?? Was it just a test so he'll know they'll follow his instructions? Or just a test for...you know what? He's had enough. If Scabior wanted him to give WWW another heart attack, then he could count on Treyen, but no more games, Mr. History. "No problem. Anytime." The Head Boy said, as he placed the book back where it was.
He also waited for Evelyn before finally leaving. No way he was leaving her alone with Scabior.

Evelyn couldn't help but look annoyed. Yeah, she really was dumb enough to obey his instructions..especially when it was his instructions that got them into loads of trouble in the first place. WHAT!?
Evelyn was surprised. REALLY surprised. So, basically..they earned ten points for NOT obtaining the lobalug, ten points for annoying Willy..heh. If only he would give them ten points every time they gave Willy a heart attack..sigh. Five points for the book? Just to get the book from the bookcase?
Evelyn didn't even know what to make of that. With an incredulous expression on her face, she replaced the book on the shelf before she turned towards Scabior again. "Erm..thanks." For rewarding them all the points they'd lost and FIVE more. Awesome. "C'mon, Trey." Evelyn followed him out the door, glad that everything was finally over.
