"Thank you Potter." She said taking the gifts. "I certainly can use them." She said and looked at the girl. "There was a rumor than you... served detention recently... With the Headmaster. Is that true?"

"Yes I did, Professor Lafay, and I have definitely learned my lesson." Alyssa told the Professor. Alyssa suddenly regretted coming to see the Professor. She was afraid the Professor was going to give her detention again for bringing her the ingredients. She gulped in terror.

"I'm glad you learned your lesson, Potter." Though that wasn't really a concern... getting something on Tate would be good, though she wouldn't hold her breath... the man had been a Gryffindor. "So, how was the headmaster in this detention of yours? Was he cruel?"

"Actually Professor, I was afraid that he was going to be tough, being headmaster and all, but he was very understanding and patient with me and gave me a chance to explain what I had done wrong and allowed me to correct my mistake."

Alyssa was surprised by the question. Was the Headmaster supposed to be a cruel man and he was just having an off day that day when he imposed detention on her/...which she definitely wasn't going complaining about because all she had to do was to write an apology letter, which was lots better than some of the horror stories she had heard happened to the other students who had served detention before her. Was the Headmaster she met that day, different from the Headmaster the others thought about him? Alyssa was puzzled about that.

"Well, I'm glad your detention wasn't too bad. Thank you for the ingredients, Miss Potter. Behave yourself." She warned and opened the door for the girl.

"Oh I will definitely behave myself, Professor. I've truly learnedly lesson. I look forward to your first potion lesson for this term. Have a nice day," Alyssa told the Professor as she made a quick exit out the opened door.

Hecate came out to the door and seeing the girl, she motioned her in. "Come on, I don't have all day." She said.

Ariana Walked into the office. she had a trick up her sleeve to make the professor seem "happier" at least for a little while But she needed an excuse to think of one & well thinking on her feet wasn't ariana's greatest thing. "Your office is lovely."

She had taken a sip of her tea before giving the girl a glare. She was commenting on her office? Hecate put her cup down on the saucer and turned around to look on the walls. Had she done something to the office? Were there portraits? Signs?

Ariana noticed that the professor had some tea. great the perfect chance Ariana took the vial of elixer of euphoria out of her pocket & poped the top off & put a few drops or so into the professor's tea hoping she didnt turn around and catch her.

She remained turned, looking to make sure nothing was out of place. Nothing. Alright. She turned back to the girl and took her tea cup. "What is it? And I hope it isn't about boys, " she wasn't in the mood to discuss boys...

NO!, not Boy trouble uhmm. I think i might of came to the wrong person. it's personal Home issues really. I just needed someone to talk to. I guess i can go.. uhh i dunno."

"You are in my house..." She said standing straight and took a sip of her tea. "I come on... I can help." She said her face softening.

Ariana Smiled. ' wow that was fast!' but she needed to get out of there FAST it was only a matter of time before Lafay realized what she was doing. " it really is not big deal i just found out over summer that the stupid muggle hospital that i was born in made a HUGE mistake & i was switched at birth & my parents want to meet their real child & they want me to meet my real parents & i just dont want to, it's been giving me a hard time."

Hecate, who'd been drinking the rest of her tea as the girl spoke, put the cup down. She looked up to her and smiled. Down right SMILED!

"Look on the bright side!" She said and giggled. Oh Merlin... She GIGGLED! "I... I..." She was trying to say she was sorry, but it never came out. Maybe she could still control what she was saying... "Just imagine!!! Two sets of parents. Two sets of Christmas presents." There went that theory... And she giggled some more. She covered her mouth trying not to... but she couldn't help it. She was downright Giddy! What was happening to her?!?!

Ariana could help but smile at lafay's giddy-ness. this was just too great. "i see that part of it but i was brought up in a strict house hold & my parents are very uhh.. it dosent matter. i should probably get going." and ariana tried to head for the door. she needed to get out of there quick!

Hecate was grateful the girl was leaving, as she was embarrassed by her sudden reaction... but all of a sudden her mouth involuntarily flung open and she said "Don't go! We have yet to dance and sing."

Oh Merlin!!

Someone needed to stop her! What had happened! How had she become so... Giddy??? Was there a fwooper flying about? Her symptoms seemed to be consistent with the reactions to Elixir of Euphoria... but she hadn't been brewing an-

She looked at her cup.

She turned to look at the room again and spun gracefully to look at the cup once more. The child had put it in her tea!!! There was enough left in the cup to test it and be sure.

She raised her hand and grabbed the girl's hand, spinning her around. Her mouth opened to tell her she had detention, but... her voice came out in song as her hips swayed to the music in her head. "Goooooing to the chapel and I'm. Goooooonna get maaaaaaaaaried. Goooooing to the chapel and I'm. Goooooonna get mAAAaaaAAAried. Geeeeee I really looove him and I'm. Goooona her maaaaaaaaried. 'OH MERLIN'S BEARD!' Ariana Has to get out of there.. REALLY FAST! the professor is now singing about getting married this was crazy ariana needed her to finish her tea. "professor why dont you finish your tea!?"

So that proved it. The girl poisoned her! Well... Now she was definitely giving her detention.

She opened her mouth to assign the detention to the girl, "WHEN A MAAAAAAAAN LOVE A WOMAAAAN. Can't keep his mind on nothin' eeeeelse! He'd trade the woooorld, for the good thing he's fooooound!!! IF SHE IS BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAD, he can't see it! She can do no wroooooong. And turn his back on his best friend, if he puts her down!!!"

SWEET CIRCE!!!! She was not going to be able to stop!

Hearing the knock she straightened herself up, and giggled. "Cooomming!" She said in a sing song voice. She went to the door and opened it. Seeing the two professors made her jump up and down and clap her hands.

... Stun me! Please... One of you just stun me!

Edvard heard what he thought was Hecate's voice long before she opened the door. Was the Potions Mistress really singing? Exchanging a look with Dash he stepped into the office. Certain that Dash would deal with Hecate's singing since he was a practical man after all, Edvard focused his attention on the only other visible person present.

A student!

Going over to her he asked the girl pointedly "What is going on here? How long has Professor Lafay been like this?" He pointed a thumb in Professor Lafay's direction the potions mistress was currently clapping her hands and jumping up and down on the spot. And Dash thought he was drugged!

when the professor turned her back to go open her office door Ariana did the first thing should could think of. she 'tripped' and bumped into the professor's desk and unfortunately the professor's cup of tea went tumbling to the ground. the cup shattered. and the remainder of the tea was all over the floor. 'well i didnt want THAT to happen.'the snake thought to herself. but it did and she wasnt gonna try to fix it, the evidence was gone.

A professor!? oh this just ISNT ariana day of course!
she played along. "since i arrived. she was fine at first but then she just got all happy & started to sing to be about getting married & dancing!" which isnt entirely a lie. it was true ariana just left out the part where she was involved.

What in the world? Scabior's eyes narrowed slightly as he heard Hecate almost...singing? As she opened the door, he stepped into the office, staring at the..giddy Potions Mistress who was clapping her hands and jumping.

Was Hecate ever..giddy? Did she even know the meaning of the word? Apparently Edvard was in love with Althea and Hecate's new pastime was singing about her engagement and dancing.

He needed to find a new job.

Scabior's eyes wandered over to the small student who Eddie was speaking to, but quickly trailed down to the mess on the floor. The broken teacup pieces were surrounded by a pool of what he guessed was tea. "Did you drop your cup?" He addressed Lafay but quickly turned back to the Slytherin. "Did she?"

She giggled. "Oh Edvard... aren't you precious. Getting worried over me!!! You sweet sweet man." and then she sang happily, "Twinkle twinkle little star... How I wonder what you are. Up above the world so high, like a diamond in the sky..." She was totally giddy.

"Married! I'm gonna get married..." She clapped her hands... and then sang again "He's Henery the 4th He is, Henery the 4th He is He is, He got married to the Widow next door, she was married threeee times before!" She laughed... "Ok, he's not a Henery! He's an Alexander!"

She giggled. "So I did! All that dancing has repercussions." She covered her lips and giggled some more. "It's ok, stud muffin, I know the reparo charm!" She said and laughed... Oh Merlin!!! did she just call Dash stud muffin?!?! "Do you knooooow the muffin man, the muffin man, the muffin man. Do you knooooow the muffin man who lives on drury lane."

Ariana just put her face in her hands. this can NOT be happening! she thought to herself. ariana Headed for the door, time to make her move out!

One thing living with sisters had taught him was that they usually added bits of truth in with the lies to make stew of everything. Now Edvard wondered what was true and what wasn't in this child's story. Thoughtful he asked the Slytherin "Has Professor Lafay drunk or eaten anything since you got here?" If Hecate had then that could been the reason she was all giddy and singing.

Edvard turned his attention to Hecate for a moment who was all giggly. Smiling warmly at her he replied seriously. "Of course Hecate. I worry about the well-being of all my colleagues." Then Hecate started singing Twinkle little star and Edvard knew it was an impossible feat to get something more useful out of her.

Averting his gaze from Hecate he watched how as the Slytherin student made a break for the door. In a few strides the Astronomy Professor had manoeuvred himself to stand in front of the door. The student's wasn't leaving until Hecate had her wits back. For all Eddie knew the student could be responsible for his colleagues giddiness and singing. Eyeing her he said "Not so fast, dear. Your head of house needs you, you wouldn't want her to leave you stranded if you were sick or out of sorts, would you?"
