SPOILER!!: Gideon and August Selinan was sipping on her hot chocolate when she heard a voice call to her from the opposite end of the room. She looked up from her chocolate to see Auggie walking over to her from the booth where all of the drinks were. Her lips furled into a curl just over the brim of her cup and she replied, "Hey Auggie... and sure, you wanna pull up a seat?" Her hand pat down a seat next to her at the booth she was sitting at. Then she heard another voice, Gideon's voice to be exact. She waved at the other Gryffindor boy as he went to get his own drink. Thank Merlin for Muggle Studies and all of the free food. It was a Merlin send, honestly. |
When Kurumi had seen the announcement go up...Kurumi was instantly skeptical of this lesson. Her and the prefects of last term had spent WEEKS in the library doing research about food from around the world for their prefect event, Around the World in a Hogwarts Day, and, really, HOW different were wizarding dishes from nonmagical ones? Fried chicken in the Great Hall prepared by the house elves still tasted like the fried chicken she got back home in Japan. Not to mention that Kurumi was getting tired of every Muggle Studies lesson centering on food. She was ready for something more practical and hands on. Really, she just missed Professor Zookara. After the explosion that had happened in the Great Hall, Kurumi felt awkward around people. Now pretty much entire school knew what she was AND what had been bothering her and she felt judged. So, as she made her way into the classroom, Kurumi nodded her head politely to the professor before finding a seat at an empty table and tried to make herself as small as possible. |
Sky walked into Muggle Studies feeling pretty excited. Who didn't love food, right? She fixed herself a Vanilla Italian Soda and found herself a seat, taking in the look of the room. "Hello, professor. The room looks really pretty." She took a sip of her drink, closing her eyes to enjoy the taste. Ah, delicious! |

Sean walked into the room and looked around. It was unlike any of the rooms he'd seen so far at Hogwarts. He wondered what was going on but figured in the end the professor would explain everything. "Hello Professor." Sean said as he took a seat, or in this case, barstool. |

Professor and Lily Violet walked into the nice cozy classroom. She smiled at the professor and waved. "Good day professor!" and looked around the room to find a seat. She didn't really enjoy muggle studies very much, but at the sound of food, she came rushing in to see what this class was all about. At the mention of any culinary arts, Violet always enjoyed it. She then instantly saw Lily, and waved hello to her as well. "Hey, Lily! May I join your table?" |

"Hello Professor!" Glenn said, giving a small smile to her. She guessed New Zealand was not particularly big. It could be overlooked. From the corner of her eye, she spotted Kurumi sitting by herself at a table. The thoughts of no New Zealand flag were banished from her brain. Glenn made a beeline for her, pulling herself up onto a bar stool. "Hi Kurumi." She said, "I'm really sorry about your mum." And she was. Glenn couldn't imagine what it'd be like without her own mum being around. She started rummaging in her bag, Glenn had been meaning to catch her. "Do you want a cookie?" Glenn had questioned her mum about sending some to Hogwarts. Her mum was not amazing, but a better baker than Glenn would ever be. "I thought maybe- since you always give people cookies when they're sad maybe you'd want one too?" She placed the lunch box on the table and pushed it over to where Kurumi was sitting. The lunch box had charmed to keep the cookies inside warm over the travel to Hogwarts. |

However, when the cookie was presented to her, Kurumi slowly turned her attention towards her and politely accepted it. She wasn't used being on the receiving end of these sorts of things, so this was sort of odd for her. "Um...thanks," she said with the faintest of smiles, placing the cookie on the table and not nibbling on it. Maybe later. After all....the entire lesson |

"My mum made them." She said. Wait. Why did she mention her mum?! "And uh- my dad charmed the lunch box so they would still be you know, warm when you ate them. So uh- if you didn't want to eat them now, you can put the lid back on and they'll stay warm." Yes. Trying to make conversation. "I'm going to get a drink. Do you want one...?" Glenn got off her seat and hovered there, waiting for the lions response. |
Another muggle studies lesson. Raven didn't want to skip this lesson because Professor Cerulean knew how to bring the muggle fun things into the classroom. But fortunately she was quite better now. No terrible headache but her face still looked pale. She walked to the classroom, noticed on the flags and smiled. She greeted the Professor. "Good day, Professor. This is very awesome." she said, hiding her sad face because of personal problems. Then she took a cup of hot chocolate, and looked for a seat. She noticed Zhenya was there too, but she chose to sat at different stool. She prefered to be alone. |

She looked up at Angelina and said "Sorry, I'm going to see if Raven is okay," and slid off her tall chair. Quote:

Mhmm... no door this time. That's good, the third year thought as she found her way along the corridor towards the Muggle Studies classroom. As she stepped in, Gwendolyn gave a quick look around and observed how nicely it was arranged. Truth be told, she was kind of curious about this lesson. Even though her 'skills' in Muggle Studies hadn't improved at all since last year, the young Ravenclaw had to admit that curiosity was what brought her there. 'Hello Professor', Gwen said shortly after arriving, giving a small nod towards Professor Cerulean. Now she should find a seat. |

Jez ran into the classroom with her tie askew, satchel threatening to fall off her shoulder, and loose hair flying like a long black flag behind her. Maybe sleeping in the Room of Requirement on a school night hadn't been a great idea. For one thing, the Room hadn't realised she had to be in class the next day, and so hadn't produced an alarm clock or anything. So Jez was late for class - or not, hopefully. It didn't look like the lesson had started yet. She smiled at Professor Cerulean, despite her sleepiness. "Hello professor," she said, before dropping her satchel off at one of the tables and going over to the coffee machine, straightening her tie as she went. She got a Vanilla Italian Soda, making a mental note to try a Peppermint White Chocolate Mocha at some point, and went back to her table. Perching herself on the stool, Jez finally taking the time to look around while quickly plaiting her hair and sipping her drink through the straw. |
Pam walked into the classroom, excited to start this lesson. She had loved the last lesson, where they learned table manners, it was her favorite class. So she was really excited to see what they were going to learn today. "Hello Proffessor." She said with a nod and a small wave. Looking around at the tables, Pam noticed Jez, looking a little out of place. Skipping the coffee, she walked over to her, and took the chair next door. "Hey sleepyhead. Need this?" She dug around in her bag, pulled out a small brush, and handed it to her. |
Aaron made his way into the classroom and stared around, this place was never the same. o___O 'Ello professor!' He said and saluted her before walking over to some sort of strange machine thingy. Right. Some drink machine thingy, probably? Aaron shrugged and picked a cup, then pressed one of the buttons. Once it was filled he made his way over to where he could see Alyssa. 'HIYA!' Aaron said and jumped onto the seat before he sipped some of the... whatever it was he had. |
sorry for the delay...I have a sick baby at home... Gemma smiled at each of the students as they walked. About halfway through all the students entering she put down her magazine and smiled at the students as she sipped on her Caramel Macchiatto.....oooo how she loved these things...She wiped her mouth and tip of the nose just in case some whipped cream had snuck up there and then she stood up. "Hello everyone!!! I am so excited to see all of you!" she said excitedly. "And welcome to the second lesson of Muggle Studies for the year." she paused waiting for the conversations to end after her introduction. She motioned up towards the flags hanging from the rafters and they all swung in unison..."Welcome to Around the World in 80 bites...an adventure around Muggle Cuisine around the world...." she said bringing her arms back down and smiling excitedly as her stomach growled, "This lesson will be divided into parts, so today we will just go around the world in 40 bites..." she said with a little giggle...yes it was a lame joke but it was a joke none the less. "I hope you brought your appetite and an open mind to try each of these dishes...." She flicked her wand and a board dropped down from the ceiling in front of her little table. "So, let's get thing started by learning from each of you..." she said flicking her wand towards the board. Slowly the words Fellow Students wrote across the board in the Professor's handwriting. "Please raise your hand and tell me where you are from and share a favorite dish from your area...let's try to keep them muggle dishes if we can since this is Muggle Studies...and don't repeat something someone else has already said..." she said with a nod up and down, "For instance, I'm from the United States," as she said the US, the flag wiggled hurriedly from the rafters, "And one of my favorite muggle dishes is Hot Dogs with cheese and chili..." as she said this her name, hot dog with chili and cheese and the United States was scribbled across the board. OOC: All conversations should end now...remember not to announce yourself coming in late from this point....also don't forget to raise your hand before your answer....and no repeating other people's answers...and as always, Gemma, is watching! |
oooh. A dish from where she was from? Well. England had lots of dishes. Lots and lots. And Isobel liked them an awful lot. Indy thought for a few moment, making herself feel a bit hungry. Ahh. She could say that. With a smile Little Hutchinson raised her hand. "I'm from England." One of the best countries in the world. Of course. "And like there's this dish...kind of a dish anyway." It was a snack really. But that was okay. "It's called a Cream Tea. It's basically a scone, and then you put jam, I like putting strawberry jam, and cream. Like proper clotted cream, not that stupid squirty from a can cream. And then you can have tea with it too. I don't like tea though. so I dont have tea." Obviously. "It's quite common in devon, and cornwall." But you could have it anywhere really. |
Isabelle smiled as she thought of all of the delicious food that there was. Then she decided on one of the many, chocolate croissants, and raised her hand. "I'm from France and I enjoy Pain Au Chocolat, which is French for chocolate croissants. It is just a regular croissant with a couple chunks of chocolate in the middle," Isabelle said as she explained what it was and translated it to English. |
Aaron clapped excitedly, this was schweeet. Eating food as an actual class?! Brilliant! His stomach growled, he was starving already D: So he had to name a dish from where he was from..? Weeeeell... Tacos weren't very English, so no... He frowned as he tried to think up something Silverton-ish, he had lived there most of his life after all. After thinking some more, Aaron raised his hand. 'I'm from the south of England. Aaaand... we've got like.. this pudding pie thing. Kent Lent Pie.' He nodded, 'it's kind of like a baked cheesecakey thing?' |
We still have two seats at our table by the way. ;) Quote:
He glanced back up from his tea, having forgotten for a moment that he was in class. And sitting at a coffee table. With somebody else. "Oh, uhm, yes, nice to meet you too, Evelyn." Lewis replied quickly, staring down at her extended hand. Was he expected to shake it? But what if she wanted him to give her a fist-bump or something and then when he took her hand to shake it would be really really embarrassing. Before he figured out what to do about her offered hand, the professor started the lesson. Phew. That was close. Smiling at Evelyn for a second, he turned in his seat to be facing Professor Cerulean. Text Cut: LeProf This class was going to be about food. Again?! Not that he minded. Far from really. He loved cooking after all, and therefore food too. But this was still a little weird. What was it with this professor and food, or food-related topics? Did she secretly want to be a cook or something? Setting down the mug of Chai Tea on the table, Lewis raised his hand, quite glad that he would be able to answer the first question. "I'm from the United States too." Yes, just like her. Probably not from the same state, though. "And...I like popcorn." That counted as food, right? He just wasn't sure if it would be considered Muggle Food. All he knew was that it wasn't solely Magical Food, or whatever the opposite of Muggle Food was. Just as he turned back around in his seat to take another sip of his tea, his gaze fell on Kurumi who looked...somewhat upset. Or was he imagening things? Giving her a smile either way, he noticed how she was sitting with another Hufflepuff. She would be in good company then. |
Daichi sat down in one of the chairs inside the make shift coffee classroom house. He looked as a board came down from the ceiling before taking another sip from his Vanilla drink. "i was born in England but my mother..." he stopped his sentence for a second as he looked sad. He never liked it when he talked about her because he would miss her whenever he did. The Slytherin shook his head before he continued. " she uhm.. She was from Korea and yes i know i have a Japanese name but i am part Korean as well" Or KorIsh as he would call it. "i think my favorite food from that country iiiis... Tteokbokki which is a really spicy snack." and chocolate! He also loved chocolate but that was from another country. |
