Quite a distance from Hogwarts Castle sits a small wooden hut on the edge of the Forbidden Forest. Once lived in by Rubeus Hagrid, the hut has underwent many different changes in the many years since the half-giant, thanks to the likes of the different Groundskeepers who resided inside. Waylon as well, has put touches of his own on the hut, starting with the area surrounding it. More plant life can be seen, showcasing his love for nature, plus an extra bench is right out front of the door, for the many people who he expected would visit him. In addition to the plant life, Waylon has placed a Vegetable Patch a few feet away, not only for himself, but for the students, and maybe the other staff members who would like to try their hand at gardening. If you're there for a visit with the Groundskeeper, you might want to peek your eyes inside the vegetable patch before knocking at the door.
If, however, Waylon is not in the patch and you have knocked on the door, you'll be led inside. The first thing you'll notice upon entering is that the decor matches Waylon's personality almost perfectly. The executive L-shaped writing desk in the far left corner will never be sat at, instead the top is cluttered with papers, books and even more papers and books, all dealing with his past and current studies. The inside of the drawers are in a somewhat similar condition, and the chair pushed underneath the desk is no better. To some it may seem unorganized and messy, but Waylon knows exactly where everything is. After all, he is the one who put everything there.
The middle of the room right in front of the fireplace is where you really want to be.
Two plush, brown in color pleather sofas sit facing the fireplace surrounding a matching ottoman. But I wouldn't try to put my feet up onto the ottoman; Biscuit has become quite attached to that piece of furniture, and unless you like the sound of a puppy's bark for the entirety of your visit, just keep your feet on the floor. If you pay close attention to the mantle attached to the fireplace, though, you might recognize the familiar faces of the current Ancient Runes and Care of Magical Creatures Professors. Along with those pictures, there are a few of Waylon and his parents, a few of Waylon on his travels and previous jobs, and one particular photo of a woman who he will not discuss. A few knick knacks and small indoor plants also rest on the mantle, and the wall behind the fireplace is decorated with the Groundskeeper's diplomas and certificates. A Hufflepuff house banner is not so very well hidden behind one of the frames; now that he is working at Hogwarts, he thought it best not to have so much house spirit.
Next to the sofa farthest away to the door is a silver serving tray full of an assortment of goodies and drinks. Help yourself while you sit, relax and perhaps talk! Just don't eat the bone shaped cookies, Biscuit also doesn't like to share.
A small burst of light and now August Goldstein was in the Groundskeeper's hut.
Ummm...where was everyone else?
"Hello?" he asked curiosly as he looked around the place for the hut's owner. He had met the man before in the Topiary Gardens when he had first met Professor Williamson the day they had taken the picture by the giraffe topiary with Anya. It seemed nice enough, well the guy did have to live here and all. The Gryffindor himself would have preferred to live in the Castle but Groundskeepers probably liked to be near their plants and tools or something like that.
Where was Professor Jenkins and the rest of his Ancient Runes class?

Kurumi's figure faded into existence in the Groundskeeper's hut and Kurumi instantly felt a little woozy. She may have gone a little overboard concentrating, but she really didn't want to accidentally transport herself to somewhere else...like the bottom of the lake.
Kurumi stumbled around a bit, trying to catch her breath and stop the light headed feeling that was clouding her vision. She saw that August was here already, so that was a relief, and she sort of stumbled over towards him and rested her arm on his shoulder. "Hey...do you mind if I...just rest her for a second?" she panted, sweat still prominent on her forehead. Kurumi was impressed though, that August had been able to prick his finger. He was a big boy now.
Did the Groundskeeper have chocolate? She could use a piece of it right now...

Honestly, he should have been used to weird things happening. He did work at Hogwarts and well.. yeah, that was explanation enough.
Lounging on the sofa, reading the latest edition of the Daily Prophet, Waylon just about jumped out of his skin at the burst of light that had appeared inside his hut followed by, not one, but TWO students. What in the name of Merlin did they think they were doing!? Normally he wouldn't have cared too much if students just walked into his hut, but this.. they didn't actually use the front door, did they?
Plus, he was sure there were classes going on. They should be in class.. All for education Waylon was not.
Peeking over the newspaper, deciding it wasn't that important where he had to move out of his comfortable position, he stared at Kurumi and the boy who he had met that day in the Topiary Garden. He was bad with names. "I was thinking about getting rid of the front door anyway. Who needs them, right?"

Kurumi pushed herself up on August's shoulder and looked at the Groundskeeper. He seemed to have survived the events that had unfolded in Defense Against the Dark Arts rather well, judging from his appearance now. The question was...did he have chocolate? She was feeling sort of queasy still.
"Oh, um, sorry, sir," Kurumi said as her face turned crimson. Her eyes darted to August's. Professor Jenkins hadn't informed the man that they were coming here?! Oh Merlin... "I thought you knew that students would be...um...teleporting here..." Which meant that they now knew how to essentially Apparate within Hogwarts. That realization hit Kurumi like a ton of bricks. Was this going to make her prefecting duties even more difficult now?!

Just a few seconds after he had arrived, August was glad that someone else was finally coming behind him. Those few seconds of being alone in someone else's home were enough for him. And it was Kurumi which made it even better. "Sure you can lean on me. Professor Jenkins or Mr. Murdoch will probably be able to give you something to make you feel better." The lion was glad he wasn't all tuckered out from doing the teleporting thing.
Oh...August just noticed that the room wasn't empty and the fabric and newspaper on the couch was actually Groundskeeper Murdoch. This was all sorts of awkward. "Oh um, sorry Mr. Murdoch. We can go use the door if you'd like." The fourth year awkwardly started to walk towards the door and tugged the Prefect with him.
"Professor Jenkins just told us to make a Ehwaz rune and then walk into the portal and now we are here, so sorry." The boy muttered all of this rather quickly as he tried to leave and then re-enter the hut.

With a pop and a crinkle Nerida was in Mr.Murdoch's Hut and said Woah, I dont feel so good! She did not like that feeling at all, not one bit. She didnt know why she felt this way, maybe it was because of the transporting, the blood, and the needle. Looking around she saw that Kurumi and August were already there, and Mr. Murdoch didnt look too happy!!

Jory opened his eyes and knew that he'd arrived at the right place. He's already spotted at few students who didn't look as if they'd enjoyed the transportation at all.
Jory was just in time to say Mr. Murdoch say something about the door. The Groundskeeper didn't look happy. Uh oh... Wasn't he told that students would be appearing here?

Amelia blinked as she stepped through the archway... and right into Mr. Murdoch's hut. "Hello," she said waving awkwardly before looking around at the other classmates who were already assembled here. At least Mr. Murdoch didn't seem to be all that annoyed that a bunch of students were just randomly appearing in his home.
Okay, he sorta did.
"I'm sorry to intrude. I thought you knew we would be appearing here," she said as she joined the others in apology.

Still staring at the two Gryffindor's, Waylon was finding it very difficult to keep a straight face. Sure, he may have been just a tad bit annoyed that they were in his hut, but not because they were in his hut. The fact that they had interrupted an oncoming nap, however.. that was the most annoying. But the look on their faces made up for all that, and now he just found the whole thing amusing.
And he really did find his own comment about getting rid of his front door quite funny. He'd give himself a pat on the back for coming up with something so clever when the hut was clear of kids.
Something he didn't find amusing, though, the fact that Kurumi looked like she was about to get sick.. or pass out. Either way.. "You don't have to use the door.." Boy whose name he had forgotten. "And there are snacks on that tray if you need them, Kurumi." And there was a bucket in the corner if she needed one of them as well. Folding the paper he had been reading, Waylon moved up into a sitting position, just in time to hear what the boy had said about Professor Jenkins.. and his crazy rune portal! He should have known.. "No, he didn't tell me anything." It was just a good thing he was.. decent inside his hut.. "But since you're here.." He gestured towards the other seats. They could sit.
And wait for Professor Jenkins.

He'd let Oliver deal with that, if he ever showed that big head of his.
"There are some snacks on that tray." he pointed in the tray's direction. "Help yourself."

Two more flashes of light followed by two more students, bringing the total amount of students inside his hut to five. Waylon wondered how many kids Oliver had in his class altogether, and how many of them would be appearing in someone else's hut. That would actually be really funny.. you know, as long as the kid was alright and stuff. Yeah.
Smiling at the two Hufflepuff's, Waylon waved his hand dismissively in Amelia's direction as she apologized. It wasn't her fault he didn't know about the crazy teleporting rune thing that Oliver did. "You two can have a seat and wait for your Professor to get here." And in case they missed it earlier.. "There is a tray full of snacks over there."
Just don't eat the bone shaped cookies. They were for his dog.

It was like walking on the moon. Though she really haven't tried doing so. But walking through the wall was a bit cold, and a tingling sensation traveled along her spine to her nape as she took small steps. She was feeling so light too.
Then suddenly, she smelled grass and heard chattering from not faraway. After blinking, she then found herself inside the Groundskeeper's hut. "Oh," Beezus uttered as she turned around to look at the portal she had just stepped in, then faced Mr. Murdoch again. "Hi sir," she then greeted enthusiastically until she noticed something hurting on her finger. That was when she remembered the bite on her finger was still bleeding. Quickly, she pulled out her blue star-speckled handkerchief from her pocket and propped her bleeding finger to it.

Amelia sighed in relief as Mr. Murdoch waved off the apology. At least he wasn't mad. And at least the had caught him at a decent time, she supposed. Things could have been a lot worse. "Thank you, Mr. Murdoch," she said happily as she went to help herself to a few snacks before taking a seat and waiting for their Professor to arrive.
Nate got teleported by the portal. He wasn't very good at using teleportation, so he fell when he arrived. He whispered under his breath "Ow!! That really hurt." Then he got up. He wasn't feeling so well. Nate never liked to use any means of teleportation, but he had to. To get to places he would have to use floo powder. He used it many times, but he didn't like it. His stomach tarted to hurt from teleporting. So he craddled his stomach in both of his arms. (He didn't rock it back and forth.)

Nerida felt a bit better now that she was on her feet. She looked over at Mr.Murdouch, and said Thank you sir! She happily walked over to the snack tray, slowly, she didnt want to rush over and make herself more sick! She picked up a few snacks and sat down. It was nice of Mr.Murdouch to let them stay even though the professor forgot to mention it to him.

Ella had her eyes squeezed shut, hoping she would make it to the hut successfully. When she started to hear voices, the first year opened her eyes and blinked. It had worked! She smiled at the group of students cheerfully. "That was cool!" Then she noticed the groundskeeper and gave him a friendly greeting as well. "Hi Mr. Murdoch, hope you're well!"

With a bright flash, Alyssa walked through archway and into Mr. Murdoch's hut. She looked around amazed. Some of the other students had already arrived there before her. She turned to look back into the archway and saw nothing there.
So she walked up and joined the rest of the students and greeted the Groundskeeper at the same time. "Hello Mr. Murdoch."

Kurumi was very appreciative of August allowed her to balance herself on him...until he began dragging her towards the door. Wait...WHY?! Sort of still in a daze from exhaustion, Kurumi didn't resist and instead willed her feet to drag themselves. Were they really about to exit the hut and reenter it? Kurumi wasn't so sure she saw the logic in that, but since August was being a good sport she would allow him to drag her around....
...or not.
Kurumi tugged on August's shoulder to make him stop. Apparently, the man really wasn't mad...but had been teasing them? Why did this not surprise her?
Kurumi followed the man's gesture towards the snacks and her eyes widened slightly. She really didn't need much, just something with a bit of sugar in it.
"Thank you," she smiled, dragging August this time towards the snacks. She selected a small pieces of chocolate, the sort that had those rice crispy things inside them. Kurumi, surprisingly, did not enjoy straight chocolate. It needed to have something in it. Kurumi popped the sweet into her mouth and instantly felt better, enough so that she was now able to walk herself over to one of the seats and sit down at least.
Now...why did Professor Jenkins have them come here? Was the Groundskeeper going to be used for target practice again using runic magic?

The whole time August was being awkward and appologizing for trespassing in Mr. Murdoch's house, he missed the smile that the man had been donning but when he told them to just not worry about it.
Oh.
After helping Kurumi over to the snacks he didn't take one himself and instead just sat in one of the chairs furthest away from the Groundskeeper, his face still a little pink from embarassament. He should have known better, 'You don't leave, then reenter someone's house.' August scolded himself.
It had felt like Silvia had stepped through a thin, cold film of water; for a brief moment everything was black, before the inside of a small hut began to materialize before her. She hadn't been in here before, but looking around she knew she was in the right place. The hut was already crowded with the students who had passed through the archway before her. Turning her head, she saw the groundskeeper. "Oh... hello," she said. Silvia moved over to stand near some of the other students to make room for whoever came through the portal next.

Alyssa decided that since she was already here in Mr. Murdoch's hut that she would 'kill two birds with one stone' by giving him the Thank You Card Professor Romanos suggested that they give him for helping out at their last Defense Against The Dark Art's Class. So she walked up to him and took the card from her backpack. "Uh...Mr. Murdock I want to first of all thank you for letting us transport to your hut, but mostly of all I want to thank you for helping us out in our Defence Against the Dark Arts recently. I know that it must have hurt to have those spells hit you, even though you tried not to show it. Anyway, I made you this Thank You Card.I know it's not much, but I hope that you like it." She presented it to him with both her hands, smiling shyly at him.
Laura had somehow managed to get throw the Portal she was so confused as to how she managed it but she wasn't feeling very well now. "Good Day Mr Murdoch." Okay so Laura didn't like this man, but now how was she going to get back into the classroom, she sure wasn't taking the portal again, she didn't think she'd use another one of them ever, she hated them, she moved over to where the other students where, trying to keep her mind on anything else but blood.

That would probably be very bad, though it would be enduring proof that once and for all he and ancient runes were no good for each other. When he finally appeared in the small building surrounded by his fellow students however, he had his answer that it had gone all right. Though he hadn't expected to end up right in the MIDDLE of everything.
What kind of protocol was required?
"Um...hello Mr. Murdoch," Gideon said simply with a nod as he shifted aside, the boy awaiting whatever was to come next.
Mom says I have no sense of direction, so I packed my bags and right.
Oakey took a few more steps with his eyes closed until he walked himself right into the corner of one of the sofa's tripped and flipped over it.
Oakey opened his eyes out of surprise from the bump and flip. But all he saw was utter darkness! Merlin! I-I screwed up! I tripped and now I'm stuck between worlds! SOMEBODY HELP! He screamed, but was muffled from his face being face down in the sofa's seat. He took notice of this and lifted his face up to see that he had indeed made it into Merdog's Hut.
Oh-Uh-ummm...never mind Oakey said as he fixed himself around and sat on the sofa properly. Hello Mr. Merdog...Eeer I mean Murdoch, nice to see you again.

His stomach tarted to hurt from teleporting. So he craddled his stomach in both of his arms. (He didn't rock it back and forth.)

Turning her head, she saw the groundskeeper. "Oh... hello," she said. Silvia moved over to stand near some of the other students to make room for whoever came through the portal next.

Six.
Seven.
Eight.
Nine. Ten. Eleven.
Eleven students in his hut all together, and not one sign of Oliver yet. Of course, Waylon had a high suspicion that he would be the last person through the portal.. if he would even decide to go through the portal at all. Did the portal go both ways? He would give his friend a few more minutes..
"Hello, hello." he greeted each of the kids that arrived and waved his hand in the direction of the snack tray. He was not going to repeat himself, so hopefully they all understood that they could help themselves to whatever they wanted. Except the dog cookies..
"Nate, you okay there, buddy?" He didn't fail to miss the boy fall.
SPOILER!!: Thank you'ers!

It was nice of Mr.Murdouch to let them stay even though the professor forgot to mention it to him.

Oh.
After helping Kurumi over to the snacks he didn't take one himself and instead just sat in one of the chairs furthest away from the Groundskeeper, his face still a little pink from embarassament. He should have known better, 'You don't leave, then reenter someone's house.' August scolded himself.
Ah, good.
The kids who had looked a bit sick were starting to look a little better once they had a little bit of chocolate in them. It was also a good thing that he had that snack tray to refill itself. If anymore sick kids came through, they'd have to eat the dog cookies..

Twelve students.
Oliver deserved a slap on the back of the head. He had managed to get thirteen kids to arrive safely into his hut by a crazy rune portal. That was twelve more than Waylon thought he would get to arrive. "Hello, Alyssa." the groundskeeper greeted, and was just about to send her off towards the snacks when she began rooting into her bag for something. Well, if she had her own snacks.. she could share with everyone else! But, of course, he was getting ahead of himself and raised his eyebrows as she pulled out a card. For him!
Listening to her explain what it was for, he automatically began feeling those stings again, but he sucked it up and grinned at the girl. "Oh, thank you Alyssa! Did Professor Romanos put you up to this?" Not that he minded. The woman did owe him, after all. After reading and re-reading the card a few times, Waylon pushed himself off the sofa and pinned the card right onto his mantle. And while he was up, he went and opened the door. It was getting a bit crowded inside the hut.

And it was a good thing that he had gotten up from the sofa when he had.
Hearing a loud crash and then some muffled screaming, Waylon found his eyebrows raising as he noticed Oakey. Laying on his sofa. See, this was all Oliver's fault! If he would have mentioned something about having a bunch of kids transporting into his hut, he would have moved all the sofas to make room for everyone. Oh, Cece would love it if Oliver had to have his kids go to her Hospital Wing.
"Hey, Oakey." His eyebrows were still raised as he looked the boy over. "You made quite the entrance." Must be the Hufflepuff in him.

Reason: I can count, I can, I can, I can!
Nate looked up at Mr Murdoch when he asked him the question. "Yes I'm fine. Thanks for asking. I'm used to it though. My family, well what's rest of it, normally use floo powder to travel places. I just have to work on my landing a bit." Nate was glad he got through the portal safely. He was glad he didn't go somewhere else by mistake. That once happened to him when he was real little. He always had trouble with teleportation/floo powder.

Thank you. Oakey smiled, and joked to Merdog's remark about his entrance . His face was still red with embarrassment as he had just screamed his face off into this...really..comfy...sofa.
He looked to see that most students were gorging themselves with sweets. They didn't seem to be candies so Oakey could help himself. He looked to Merdog and pointed at the sweet's. Can I help myself to those too? He asked.
