Heading down from the common room, with a soccer ball in one hand, Brookie paused at the top of the staircase. She needed to go DOWN. Not up. Sigh. This was going to take a while, wasn't it? And she certainly shouldn't be left to her own thoughts. NU UH. She'd done enough of that lately.

With a sigh, she stared at the staircase, willing it to move. But, no luck came her way. So of course, she stood there like an idiot until it finally moved.

Pleased with herself, convinced it was her own doing, she happily bounced down the staircase, only pausing as a familiar face caught her eye. "Taryn?" BLINK.

Taryn turned around when she heard her name called. It was a voice that she sort of remembered, but just couldn't place.

"Oh! Hi!" She smiled at the older girl and suddenly wished she had Vivian with her. She remembered how much Brooke liked her! "Heading outside?" She asked, gesturing to the Muggle ball.

"Or well, trying to?" The staircase was STILL moving. Was it ever going to stop?!

Boredom had been a common occurrence with Dallin lately. Which shouldn't be too much of a surprise; You could only stare at the curtains around your bed for so long before you started losing your mind.

So Dallin's solution, as it usually was, had been a walk around the castle. He had planned on going outside, but the staircases distracted him before he could make it all the way down to ground level. He stepped onto one. As soon as he did, it started turning, and he grabbed onto a banister for support. He waited until it stopped, then curiously stepped onto another. After a few seconds it moved. A grin broke across Dallin's face.

...He needed to find a hobby.

Vashti was heading up to the library, her bag of books hanging over her shoulder as usual. She had lots of homework and studying to do, and she really needed to check out some more books from the library for a few...non-school-related things. But only if she got all the homework and studying she needed done, which would take awhile.

With a sigh, she stepped onto a staircase - just as it started moving. Oh Merlin, really? Now she'd have to wait for it to go back so she could continue on to...

Hey.

Was that...?

"Hey, Dallin," she greeted with a small smile and wave. At least she'd have someone to talk to while she waited.

A small grin appeared on the blonde's face as the younger girl turned around. It WAS her. She was good at this guessing thing. Er.. At least guessing who people were from the back of their heads. And she was proud of herself. Kinda.

Walking closer, she responded. "Hi, Taryn! I'm actually really glad that was you. If it wasn't.. this would have been a really awkward staircase ride," She giggled. Outside? OH. RIGHT. "I am, actually. Would you like to play?" It would be SO much more fun if she had someone else to pass to.

"Well yeah," She giggled again.

Oh. Someone was walking toward him. Dallin quickly wiped the grin off his face. He didn't want to seem... weird or something. He started to frown, just because that's what his mouth seemed to be doing lately whenever it wasn't occupied... but then he recognized Vashti and another, more normal smile spread across his lips instead.

"Hey, Vashti," he said cheerfully, waving back at her. He stepped away from the banister, walking backwards to lean against the one on the other side of the stairs. "How're you?"

Taryn giggled at that. "Yeaah, that would be rather awkward, huh? She was GLAD to see Brooke too. She'd wondered when her Gryffindor friend would be around. "How was your summer?"

She glanced at the ball again and shrugged, "Sure, I can't say that I'm a pro or anything, but we should definitely take advantage before the weather gets much colder." She was not looking forward to that, no. She wanted to be outside as much as possible!

Following Taylor down the stairs, Lily is hurrying dodging people on the moving staircase. "Don't go too fast, Taylor! I can't go that fast." She said to her friend as they hopped onto a staircase just as it started moving.

Taylor looked back over her shoulder at her friend, "Oh sorry." She slowed down slightly but was still going a little fast as she started going down the stairs.

Now since they had just rushed out of the common room to get to this supposed 'class', Lily didn't exactly have time to tie her shoes. "Thanks." She told her friend as she flew down the steps. Luckily the stairs had stopped moving so it was a little easier to go down. Taylor was a few steps in front of Lily so she tried to make up the distance in between them. As she did this, she stepped on her shoelace, causing her to trip. As she tripped, she put her foot on the next step but her knee went backwards, and hyper-extended. Yelping in pain, Lily managed to push her knee forward again but by doing this she lost her balance, fell, and bumped into Taylor. Having done this, Lily couldn't stop and kept tumbling down the stairs, gaining speed as she went.

Once she hit the landing, Lily, not in control at this point, slammed her head into the stone wall, with all the speed that she had gained coming down the stairs. Now Lily was unconscious. She had blacked out due to slamming her head onto the wall. Her body lay limp at the bottom of the stairs.
(ooc: Lily has severe injuries including a torn acl and torn pcl from hyper-extending her knee, along with a skull fracture and possible concussion)

Taylor turned after hearing her friend fall. She lost her balance as she turned with her friend falling and fell a few steps, fracturing her humerous close to the elbow. AFter the shoch subsided she tried sitting up and looked around for her friend. SHe got up wincing and clenching her teeth at her pain as she tried going down the stairs as fast as he could to her friend. Lily looked terrible. Taylor kneeled beside her friend trying to get her to wake up. She looked around from her seat on the stairs near her friend for any older student who can help her get her friend to the hospital wing.

Lilly walked along the moving staircases, feeling like the world had been lifted off her shoulders. Ronnie was coming back! Next term. Ages away, but still, it was better than her staying in France with all the stuck-up snobs there. She suddenly saw Lily, a first-year she'd met, fall down the stairs. And it looked pretty serious. "What are you waiting for?" she snapped at Taylor, who'd been with the first-year when it had happened. "Let's take her to the hospital wing!" Lilly knew nothing about injuries, magical or not, but any fool could see that Lily was seriously injured and needed the healer.

Taylor snapped her head up, clearly unfocused., "So... sorry. I must of faded out for a few." Taylor got up and tried to get Lily up but couldn't do much with her factured arm. She grimaced but kept trying.

Taylor and Lilly were both around Lily but it didn't do much good. Lily was unconscious so she was like a sack of potatoes, she couldn't do anything. They needed someone to carry her to the healer, maybe an older boy...

Logan was walking down the staircases when he notcied Lilly trip, and Taylor and Lily come to help. He quickly walked down to them. "Hey guys, n-need some help?" he asked.

Taylor looked up at Logan, trying to hold back a wince. "We are trying to get Lily to the wing but we can't lift her. My arm won't hold her up and we are both too young to do much good." She was meaning Lilly and her when she said we.

"Oh...I can help." he said giving a slight nod. He had been working out lately...not for any particular reason.

Taylor sighed in relief.... she was still extremely worried though. She moved aside a little so that Logan can help but she still had some grip on Lily so that she can helep despite her fractured arm.

Logan crouched down a little and lifted Lily and carefully rested her over his shoulders. "I...I-I think I can take it from here. Just be behind me in case she falls or something." Logan said. "B-but I'm sure that won't happen...let's get her to the hospital wing..." he said.

Suddenly he didn't look so happy, but before Vashti could fully register and wonder over the change in expression, he was smiling again, and she'd finally reached the spot he was standing - or rather, the spot where he was leaning against the banister. She stopped on the step just below him, holding carefully onto the railing as the staircase moved. "I'm pretty good," she replied with a smile and a slight now. "How about you?"

"Yes, yes, just be quick," Lilly snapped. She was not in a good mood that day. Even the good news couldn't stop her grumpiness. Shelooked closely at Lily, following Logan. "Careful of the staircases," she said. They seemed to be in a bad mood, too.

How was he? Well. It depended on if Vashti wanted the short version or the long version answer. He could tell her how he was bored out of his mind because he'd gotten sick of homework and missing Ellie... but he didn't know if she'd appreciate that. So he gave the short answer.

"About the same as you, from the way it sounds." He turned to face her more, smiling a little. "Not... terrible, I guess. Just good." He shrugged one shoulder, looking down at the Head Girl's bag. "Studying?"

About the same? Not terrible, but good. That was...actually a pretty good way to describe how Vashti had been feeling lately - though she was sure her reasons for it were far different from Dallin's. He and Ellie still hadn't gotten back together, had they? She didn't think so, so obviously what she'd said when she'd talked to Ellie not too long ago hadn't helped much. Hmm....

Studying? Oh... "Yeah," she answered. "Been doing quite a bit of it lately. NEWTs and all, y'know." He probably did know since he was a seventh year just like her. "Have you done any studying yet?" Perhaps, if he was going to study today as well, they could go to the library and study together. It was always nice to have a study partner. She could put off checking out those other books for now.

"Oh, yeah." He did know. NEWTs. He was already sick of them and he hadn't even been in school for more than a couple months. He hadn't even taken the tests yet, of course.

Had he studied, though? "Yeah, a bit." He had started to study a few times, but always seemed to get side-tracked. He had opened a few textbooks and read a few pages. So that was a start. "Not very much, though, honestly." He had plenty of time though, right? Right. He didn't need to worry about things just yet.

Only a bit? Well, she couldn't really blame him, so she nodded slightly. There was still a lot of time between now and the time they would sit their NEWTs. Vashti couldn't help but study now though. She needed something to do in what would otherwise be her free time, and since she was convinced she would fail if she didn't study, studying seemed the logical choice.

It felt like they'd hit a lull in their conversation though, as Vashti couldn't think of anything to say. Well. She could, but she wasn't sure if she should bring that kind of thing up. At least the staircase started slowly moving back to its previous landing, where she would be able to get off and head to the library. "So..." she said, trying to come up with something to talk about to pass the time. "How's life?"

Stupid question.
