Katie skipped through Hogwarts, going who knows where.

Even though you may have heard Katie doesn't care about looks and only whats inside, Katie couldn't help but stop and check out how she looked in the mirror, Katie fixed up her hair but it was still a mess as always, "Well, this is the best it's gonna get" Katie sighed, she then remembered something she had been told about the mirror, something secret about it, but she couldn't remember, Katie stood there and got out her book and started to read, no one around, no one to stop her from reading.....

Perfect!

Christopher was running out of options. He needed a safe place.

Normally at the beginning of the year, the library was completely empty, as no homework had been assigned. However, with the beginning of OWL year, it seemed like a hundred thousand students had managed to cram themselves in there all to get early preparation for the exams. As much as he valued grades and studying, which was very important to him, he just wanted to read. And with the dorms and common room filled up too, he couldn't think of any other place to go. So he went to the mirrors.

Of course he knew that the secret passages kept most students for showing up there, and even though it was a bit colder and hard to see, it was worth it. So he threw on a hoodie and went to check it out. However, upon arrival, he noticed another girl reading there. Drats! She'd already gotten there first... and he didn't want to disturb her- he knew it could get really annoying. But it seemed empty enough and he would be good!

Shly, Christopher looked over at the girl around his age and, asked nervously, "Erm... sorry to bother you... but can I read here? I don't want to disturb you...." That would be incredibly rude of him, not wouldn't it?

Walking slowly along the fourth floor corridor, Gwen kept looking around.So there really isn't anything to see here?, she thought still hoping to spot something interesting. After a while, a smirk finally appeared on the girl's face. Not even minding to look at anything else, Gwen went straight to the end of the corrior, where she thought she'd seen something. Finally arriving there, the third year realized it was just a mirror. Just THAT? 'You have got to be kidding me!', the Ravenclaw mumbled.

I really hoped I canould find something here. But nooo, it is just a boring, useless mirror. *sigh* Maybe there's something near it...or in it... or behind it, Gwen thought, trying to cheer herself up agian. After haveing checked out the left side and then the right one of the frame, she bit her lip.

Nothing.

Not having anything better to do, Nora thought she'd better go around for a walk, but instead of going outside, she decided to wander around the less familiar halls on the upper levels. She didn't blame this on the Slytherin common room being in the dungeons, but she didn't really have any reason to go upstairs either, other than go to classes.

So, exploring time it is.

... at least up until she reached the fourth floor, where she heard a voice nearby, who didn't sound really pleased, whatever it was about. Making a few steps closer, she noticed it was a girl, but couldn't quite tell if she knew her or not since she couldn't yet see her face. "Are you alright?"

What if I could push the mirror just a bit to the right? Just a bit..., Gwen thought and made sure no one was around to see what she was doing. Turning around, the third year couldn't see anyone around. Thank Merlin!, she told herself and turned back to the mirror, which, in Gwen's opinion, had to be hiding something.

However, as soon as she put her hand on the mirror frame, the Ravenclaw heard someone talking- probably to her, asking if she was all right. Awkard moments today-1 - Gwen-0, she thought and finally turned around.

*ehem-hem*

'Why yes, thank you for asking', she replied, trying to keep a straight face, but she didn't manage to do so for more than 30 seconds. *smirk*

She didn't know him. She hadn't met him. But when he asked that question she KNEW he was cool.

"Nah its fine, read ahead" Katie smiled at him, anyone who loved reading was cool in her book, because reading was the best.... and quidditch, they were the best. "I'm Katelyn Star by the way" Katie interdouced herself, as she closed her book and put out her hand for him to shake, "Pleasure" She added with a smile.

The girl's reply gave Christopher a surge of relief. Anywhere he could go to read in peace was a safe haven, and anyone who was polite enough to allow him to do so was an angel. Gryffindor's common room was getting far too loud, the library was full of early studiers, and the grounds were packed with couples. So the mirror seemed like his best option at the moment.

Returning the smile, the fellow fifth year shook her hand. At least he thought she was in fifth year. He'd seen her around anyway, and she looked about the same age. "Nice to meet you too, Katelyn. I'm Christopher."

Christopher was his name, hey? Nice, she smiled to him nicely, "What book do you happen to be reading?" She asked, maybe it was a good book that Katie should read? She knew everyone should read the book she was reading at the moment, it was awesome and Katie had basically finished, and then she had to start reading the second.

Smiling down at his book, Christopher replied, "Me? Oh, I'm reading the tale of Oliver Twist. Charles Dickens is one of my favourite authors." Shakespeare was his absolute favourite, but he also quite liked Dickens, Voltaire, and Victor Hugo. "I'm a huge fan of classical Muggle literature," he said with a blush. Most people thought it was kind of strange that he read such old text, written by Muggles no less, but his friends, anyway, had gotten used to it. Some of them even liked it as much as he did.

"And what about you, may I ask? What are you reading?" he asked, nodding toward the book in her lap. He figured she very much enjoyed it, as she seemed very enthralled when he first arrived.

Uhm... what was she doing? And... why was she smirking at her?

"I don't really want to be nosy, but... is there anything behind that mirror?" Nora asked, noticing that it had been moved... sort of. And, you know, she didn't want to be nosy, but she was definitely curious. Was that the same thing?

That was still to be determined.

I don't want to be nosy?!, Gwen repeated the other girl's words in her head. Guess what- you are!, she thought, but didn't say it out loud. That would have been rude...

'Maybe...', Gwen began saying. 'There has to be something behind it' 'couse there's nothing else curious about it, and this mirror is placed here for some reason. 'I don't know what it is and it's killing me', the third year had to admit. Curiosity killed the cat....

'Err... I don't believe we met before', the Ravenclaw went on talking. 'I'm Gwen, by the way, Gwen Greene', she said and extended her hand. Looking back at the girl, Gwendolyn remembered she had seen her around, but never actually talked to her.

"It's nice meeting you," Nora smiled, softly shaking the girl's hand. "I'm Nora." Stupid, common, silly name. Hmph.

She couldn't help but giggle at Gwen's curiosity. Too bad she didn't know what a curious little creature Nora was. "Do you want to have a look?" If she didn't already, of course. But, who knew, maybe they'll find some secret passage or some hidden treasure. Or maybe a baby Acromantula. Or maybe nothing at all.

‘Nice to meet you, Nora’, Gwen grinned. So she doesn’t think I’m crazy? O________o Interesting… ‘Umm… I think I’ve seen you around, last year though…’, she went on talking, hoping she didn’t confuse her with someone else. ‘What year are you in?’

Do I want to have a look?!, the third year repeated in her head. ‘Do I?!’, the Ravenclaw mused. ‘YES! I’m dying to know what’s behind it!’, Gwendolyn finally admitted and hoped Nora wouldn’t laugh at her. Though, that was probably going to happen Hmph. ‘There has to be something behind it’ There’s no other way. There just isn't.

‘Shall I… er… we use a spell?’, she asked Nora, just to see if she’d approve a ‘Wingardium Leviosa‘ or something like that. It was too heavy to just try and push it, right? Riiight?

"Third, and I believe you are as well, right?" Nora grinned, knowing she had seen Gwen around classes. Yup, they had to be in the same year, and apparently a Ravenclaw, according to the uniform.

Giggling as the girl asked herself if she wanted to have a look or not, when she was the one hanging around the mysteriously mysterious mirror of mysteries, she approached it to have a better look, but quickly stepped away when she mentioned spells. "And if we... get caught?" She surely didn't want to be seen by passing professors and lose points; not that they had some prank in mind. But it could be easily misunderstood.

Gwen didn’t say anything, she just nodded and then glimpsed back at the mirror. This thing is hiding something and I’m going to find out what it is!, she thought and took her hand out.

What if we get caught? Good question. ‘I don’t think we will. No one walks around here’, the Ravenclaw said and raised her shoulders. ‘And umm… if someone sees us… I will tell them it was my idea’ Which would be completely true. ‘You don’t have to worry’, Gwendolyn replied curtly. She didn’t care what was going to happen. She just needed to know what was behind the mirror.

‘Wingardium Leviosa’, the third year said. Easy, useful spell. Noticing that the mirror moved just a bit to the right, Gwen tried spotting anything that could come from behind it.

*blink- blink*

‘NOTHING!?’, the girl said, looking really puzzled. ‘I could have sworn there was something…’, she mumbled and turned back to Nora. ‘Erm… what’s that?’, she asked, pointing with her left hand at the wall. So there was something here- it was just- blocked. Or hidden. Somewhat.

Oh, she really didn't want her conscience to kill her if Gwen blamed everything on herself, if they eventually get caught, which they won't. "You really don't have to -" But then the girl was much faster and already lifted the mirror. "Wait -"

Too late. Ha.

But... it was nothing. Of course. No one would hide a treasure there where a couple of third years could easily reveal it, right? "Maybe there really is something, but hidden by protection spells, you know?" Which was a bit... kind of... advanced for them. Although they did learn the Finite spell in Charms.

Gwendolyn frowned and kept staring at the wall behind the mirror. Argh. So all this was useless?! No. It can’t be… there bust have been something here… but maybe some other students discovered a map or anything interesting behind the mirror and took it. Hmmm…


As she heard Nora say something, the third year looked at her. You know… we might get along. ‘Good thinking… erm… how about casting a ‘finite’?’, she said. ‘Perhaps I should keep holding the mirror and you could do it?’, Gwen suggested and waited for some reaction from the other girl.

Hmmm? Team work?

"Are you sure... ?" Err... you know, why not? What harm could a couple of third years do, anyway? "Alright. Just tell me when you are ready." Because she knew the spell from that Charms class and it was simple enough. Now let's just hope no one was around to start asking questions.

But... what if there was something dangerous? No, it couldn't be. If there was, it would be protected so third years couldn't have access to it, right?

As she noticed the other girl hesitating, Gwendolyn started thinking if this was indeed a good idea. Hmm… worst thing that could happen is get into detention, the third year told herself. Meh… ‘Huh?’, the Ravenclaw mumbled and looked back at Nora. I am ready now… ‘Now?’, Gwen said, and gestured with her left hand, keeping the wand steady with her right hand.

Waiting eagerly for Nora to cast the spell, Gwen looked carefully at the wall. If some crack was going to appear, she would spot it immediately. There there… now let’s see what this mirror hides. ‘Eeeep… I really want to see what’s behind it!!!’, she couldn’t help saying.

Alec wandered down the fourth floor corridor, his hands dug deep into his pockets. He couldn't help but glance at the weather outside as he walked past the windows. He knew that the places up North were colder but he hadn't expected to see so much snow all at once! Back home, it didn't snow as much as this. Ever.

But looking at snow would only make him feel colder than he actually was. So Alec turned away from the windows and carried on walking down the corridor. He didn't even know where he was going. His feet seemed to have a mind of its own and seemed to carry him somewhere...

And then his feet stopped moving. His grey-blue eyes blinked at the mirror in front of him. What exactly was a mirror doing in the middle of a corridor? Was this put up for people who needed to check up on themselves on the way to class? Maybe that's why the corridors ended up getting so packed sometimes.

Adeline knew that it was time to get out of the common room. She had locked herself in there because of the crazy, wierd dreams she had been having about Alec. She knew that it wasn't normal to be dreaming like that. She had never dreamed about a boy before. Well unless it was prince that was never going to come to her rescue. It always ending like that. She needed to get all of these dreams that were NEVER going to come true out of her mind. Love is not real and she will never feel it unless in a family matter.

It was hard enough that she had that one dream about Alec and her kissing before and now look, in this new dream they were older and dating and everyone at Hogwarts loved them. She was shocked and kind of scared.

Adeline walked around and up and down the moving stairs until she had to stop becuase has found herself on the fifth floor already. That was fast. She wasn't going anywhere in particular so it didn't matte that she was up on this floor in the first place but she did get lost in her thoughts and didn't know where she was going at all.

Alec gazed into the mirror some more. It was weird that this mirror was just randomly placed in the middle of the corridor like that. What was weirder was that his hair seemed to have grown slightly. Alec looked towards his left and then his right and then back at the mirror again. He leaned forwards and ruffled it slightly. There. Now it wasn't too messy or too-

Footsteps! Alec looked away from the mirror quickly and swivelled round to face this person. Hopefully it wasn't someone he knew too well otherwise he was in for some heavy mocking. Especially if said person was Messer. That cheeky he-badger!

But this person... she looked familiar. Those glasses, that hair, that height. It had to be the girl he'd barely seen for the past couple of weeks. And now he was meeting her in the weirdest area ever. "Hey Adele!" he said, grinning at his fellow Hufflepuff.

Adeline walked up and noticed a mirror she looked to the side of the mirror and saw herself. She sighed and then she looked to see that Alec was there. It should make her happier but she's so confused at the moment and the past couple of week really and she doesn't know what to do.

Adeline didn't know what to do with herself.

She looked at her feet in her yellow flats as he talked and greeted her. This was going to be awkward and she would have to explain herself. "Hi Alec." she smiled, slowly look up at him.

Alec blinked down at the girl. She seemed to be acting slightly oddly. Maybe she was just distracted by her clothes or something. No wonder. The girl was wearing a dress! No one in their right mind can wear a dress and NOT get distracted by themselves. Especially when the person looked nice as well.

Alec smiled as Adeline looked up at him. Now things didn't need to be weird between the two of them. They could have a nice, pleasant conversation right here... in the middle of the corridor. "So how have you been? I haven't seen you around a lot..." That last comment was something he's been saying a lot lately.
