And if they did they would have to live a completely different life... or make sure the neighbours weren't muggles...
"It's beautiful..." she said, glancing out of the window as the train began to move. She glimpsed a shock of red hair, startlingly similar to her own, ten noticed it was Kryspin, stood on the platform, waving at her. Wait... he hadn't gone home when he said he had..? The cheeky so-and-so. Oh... he was stood with a very pretty looking blonde woman... she hoped, for her own sake, it wasn't someone's mother... Anyway, she waved at her idiot older brother as he disappeared from sight. "The castle I mean." she added, turning back to Bradley. "And you'll get it, most people have no idea what's going on when they first get there - everyone gets into it pretty quickly." She reassured him, tickling the sleepy, purring Sebastian's stomach as she spoke.
"Alive?! No! It's just a charm... hang on." Aurora produced her wand from a pocket - she could finally use it now that she was on the train. She took a fresh jelly baby from the bag and pointed her wand at it. "Watch. Finite Incantatem." she muttered, hoping it would work. "Now listen." She popped the jelly baby into her mouth and chewed it... silently. She swallowed. "See? Just a silly charm."
See. He had no idea of the difference between instruments. "Oh" He knew the basics and that was all he felt he needed to know. It wasn't like he was looking into a career in music. "You want to play it professionally?" he asked. She seemed very keen to tell him about it, very knowledgeable. It was interesting if she was, considering most of these kids were probably looking into magical careers. Bradley? He had no idea what he wanted to do with his life. "We live in a terrace in the middle of London" A slightly posher part as well. "Don't think the neighbours would appreciate it" he laughed slightly imagining their responses.
He watched as she waved goodbye to someone, glancing at the parents faces, some of them upset some of them proud. A part of him wanted his parents to stay and see him off but the boy had asked them to remain on the other side of the wall and that was where he had left them along with his younger sister. His thoughts were disturbed and his head snapped up as she continued to speak. "Yeah I've heard. There's a lake ain't there? And loads of land" Good for playing sports then if he were ever to get bored. Good job the football lay within his case. "I hope so. I'm already trailin' behind a bit, wanna catch up as much as possible." He didn't want to be seen as the stupid muggle kid that knew absolutely nothing.
He breathed a sigh of relief as she informed him that they weren't alive. Bradley shoved the rest of the sweet in his mouth and swallowed, trying to ignore the screaming that was coming from within. "It's a bit weird ain't it? Why would you have screamin' jelly babies?" To freak out the new muggleborn kids. Was that it?

Aurora shrugged, "Maybe... I kind of want to be a potioneer though." But that might be too much like being her mother... though she did love potions... Hmm... "Well... I don't know. I have my grade eight music exam at Christmas... and I guess I'll just see how that goes." Even if she did play professionally it would probably just be a spare-time thing... potions was her true calling... probably. "We have a house in Roehampton..." she said. "It's kinda on the edge of London. But we don't live there very often." Yet another reason why you could have too much money - it made your kids feel awkward around their friends. Thanks, stupid old money. "Anyway, once you're seventeen you can just cast a spell to soundproof it!" she added, grinning. See, there was a magical solution to everything!
She turned away from the window as the platform disappeared completely. "That was my brother..." she said absentmindedly, though he could probably tell by the hair. "Probably getting himself into more trouble... Do you have any siblings?" she asked. Ah, the grounds... "Yeah, it's lovely. And the Slytherin common room is under the lake! You can see into it through our windows." she told him - best not give too much away... what if he wasn't a snake? "And there's the Quidditch pitch, and the forbidden forest, and all that stuff." But her favourite place was the courtyard - the acoustics were perfect for violin practice... and she couldn't wait to try out her new bow there. "I'm sure you'll be fine. They wouldn't have let you in if you wouldn't be." she added.
"Well, why wouldn't you? It's funny." But probably not if you weren't used to it all... "Wait 'till the food trolley comes past, I'll show you the chocolate frogs!" she said, grinning. Well, they were cool! Even she thought so - and she was used to them!

Alec watched as the girl seemed to do something to her face. If he wasn't mistaken, she might just have been wiping her face. Good. Crying girls made him slightly uncomfortable. But he probably would be slightly uncomfortable now that he had seen the girl crying.
"Thanks!" Alec said, smiling at the girl as she tugged his trunk into the compartment. He placed the trunk in the luggage rack and the cage of his owl right next to it. There. He turned round and sat down opposite the girl. "It's nice to meet you too Alyssa. I'm Alec, Alec Summers," he said, shaking her hand, "Erm, you did?" This girl sure did notice things well! "I think so... but i'm here to make a new friend." He smiled at Miss Alyssa, hoping she wasn't going to start crying again.
But... he also had to ask. Simply because he was curious about her and why she had been sitting in a compartment crying. "So, are you okay?" he asked. That was okay, wasn't it?
Welp. This was it. Ellie's last time on the Hogwarts express, castle bound. It didn't really feel any different than any of the other times she had been on it. But in the back of her mind, she knew she would only get to ride this train one more time.
Tugging her things down the almost empty train, she found a compartment in the middle. Ellie put her things up on the shelf above the benches and took a seat. She looked out the window, watching students say goodbye to parents and other family members. She smiled, remembering when her father took her to this very same platform for the first time. Six years ago.
Moving away from the crowded front, full of 5 footers persons Louisa took a lazy and careless glance at her dallying cat, licking off students' shoes. AGAIN. With a melodramatic sigh, Louisa snapped one of the door's open with unnecessary force. The compartment seemed empty... except for a certain young lady. "If it's not miss Johanson herself," the girl smirked, sliding the door closed behind her and giving the older girl a one-arm hug.
"Merlin, I seriously didn't think I'd miss you." And Louisa's usual harsh honesty was on as she flopped down opposite of the... wait for it.. GRADUATE. Also, it was indeed true, not seeing the girl for the entire summer! THREE months... or less. Or more. Louisa had been quite busy that she lost track of time but she did miss Ellie Johanson just as she missed Vashti, Kita and Enya. Shockers.

Did he loose her?
Gideon didn't know, but after the scene on the platform he wasn't sure he wanted to spend the train ride with his sister. At least at the moment to avoid a squabble errupting between them now that their mother wasn't there to keep the peace...only prefects. So it was for that had he had moved onto the train when it was ready to be boarded, just glancing back enough to make sure Kacie actually made it one board...through another door.
She'll be fine, he told himself, depositing his trunk in storage to make things easier. Gideon then was simply traveling with his knapsack and guitar slung over his shoulder as he walked down the train corridor debating where to go. He hadn't caught where Selina had headed when she escaped the family drama to see other friends so the 5th year didn't even know where his girlfriend was.

Oh well...time to simply wander.
Selina left the compartment at the front of the train and rolled her eyes. She had escaped Mr. Grayson Bay, the new fourth year who had ruffled her feathers more than just a little bit. Unlike the average person Selina did like blunt people. They were refreshing and kept the conversation on a very real level where no one felt the need to lie. But Grayson Bay took that concept to a new level. Of course, she was somewhat flattered by his comment but he just took it to the empth degree.
Shaking her head of the whole meeting she walked down the corridor until she saw someone else who she knew quite well. She walked up to him and smiled, "Hey you..." Well that was an ironic person to meet just after she had run in with Grayson. She tried to remove all thoughts of the fourth year and turned to Gideon.
Her eyes caught something hanging off of his back. Was that a guitar? "Whats with the guitar on your back... you play?"

Zayden was pushing his way passed people to find an empty apartment to wait for Amelia in. He was honestly having a hard time concentrating when his evil hairless cat was hissing and clawing at the cage the cage at which he was being held captive in. "Oi, Beasty! Hold your cat nip," said the Scottish Slytherin mumbled as he excused himself to some people that were giving him a crazy look.
He couldn't help that his cat was awful.
Finally, he found an apartment that he quickly allowed himself in before the cat somehow grew thumbs and unlocked the cage it was in. He sat the cage down and, afraid to open it for a second, he just sat down beside it.
"Do you even deserve to be let out? You scratched up my lightsaber this morning, ate my pokemon cards, and... and I'm sure you did more stuff that I don't know of yet." When he said this cat was evil, he was NOT kidding.
The cat just hissed back at him.
"... didn't think so."

His mind wandering as he walked, Gideon was only loosely concentrating on what was in front of him as he walked. Her certainly didn't want any accidents to happen if and when he tripped over someone or something accidentally. That was until he heard Selina's voice and looked straight ahead to see her coming towards him.
"Oh hey..." he returned with a smile, pausing his movements. "I was wondering where you had gotten to." Which was true, not that he was keeping tabs on her or following her every move. Selina had a right to go and be anywhere, he had simply been curious. "Its hanging there," Gideon remarked with a tilt of his head registering then that he may or may not have told her about that skill.
"Um...aye I do," he answered, absently adjusting the strap as it shifted threatening to slip from its place.
Sammy sat in the train compartment by himself. No one had joined him surprisingly so the first year sat there just reading his Batman comics. Well, his cousin Wally's Batman comics. He wondered if his guardian had even realized they were missing yet. Oh well. He looked out the window. He had no idea how much longer the ride was, but that he didn't want to be alone the whole time. That was a sure thing.

August almost missed the train! His mother had had to pick up a shift at the department store he worked at and was late going onto her lunch break when Auggie and his father when to pick her up. She, of course, wanted to say goodbye to him before he left and they were almost late.
Still out of breath from the run through the barrier and then onto the actual train, August found the nearest compartment and scrambled in. He was already in a seat when he noticed it wasn't empty. "Oh sorry, I can go if you want to be alone." he said sitting up to go back to the door.

He quickly looked up when he heard someone enter the compartment. What happened to knocking? "Not to be rude but knocking is a generous gesture," the boy said as he scratched his chin. He bounced ever so slightly as he walked, moving down the hall at a casual, yet somehow energized pace.
Where to sit? The front? The middle? The back? SO MANY CHOICES! Cornelius finally chose an empty compartment in the middle of the train, throwing his duffle bag onto the floor before plopping down in one of the seats. Though sitting, one of his feet tapped absentmindedly, his hands neatly folded on his stomach as he leaned back into the seat. And then, as though deciding to fill the space around him with something because no one had come to join him yet, he began to hum. Loudly. "Hmmmmmm. HMMMMMmmmmmmMMMmmmmmhhhhhhhHHHHHHHMMMMMMMmmmmmm!"
Oh. My. Merlin.
Could this line move any SLOWER?! Seriously. He must've made four steps worth of progress in the past ten minutes.
Edric stood in the line, moving around impatiently. He turned his head and looked around, tapped his foot, walked in circles, leaned against a crowded compartment door, and at one point he almost went right ahead and sat in the middle of the corridor. However, it was precisely at that moment that the line moved another two steps, so the boy had to forget his plan of sitting down. Humbug. ;__;
Of course, the line stopped for another twenty years after that.
Edric let out an exasperated sigh.
In reality, there had been plenty of semi-empty compartments along the way, but Edric had complicated himself by wanting a whole compartment for himself. However, he hadn't had the luck of finding one that was completely empty yet. He really didn't want to share the ride with someone. That would be… the worst possible thing that could ever happen to a curmudgeon such as himself.
And just as the Gryffindor stood there pitying his luck, a most obnoxious sound began to buzz all down the corridor. It was like the sound of a mosquito buzzing behind a megaphone and hitting an electric light every so often.
What. The. HELL WAS THAT?!
With brows furrowed, Edric glanced around. Was there a giant bug buzzing around the train?! How did the staff even allow such creatures into a train filled with kids?! OHMYGOSH it was a CONSPIRACY!! He KNEW it. Hogwarts and this whole ride was actually an evil plan by an evil dark lord that was slowly beginning to rise and gain power somewhere deep within the caves hidden in mountains on the count--And then Edric discovered the sound of the noise.
As he glanced around, stuck in the never-moving line and trapped in his thoughts of conspiracy theories and paranoia, the boy caught sight of a rather cheery-looking fellow whose lips and cheeks were vibrating to the rythm of the awful buzzing sound.
So HE was the giant mosquito!
"AHEMM-HEMM-HEMM. HMM. AHEM."
Edric cleared his throat loudly.
I must specify, in case the sound effects weren't obvious.

It was pretty easy for Amelia to locate her boyfriend on the train; all she had to do was follow the sound of the hissing cat.
"Could you not have left the thing at home? Or given it away?" she asked as she raised her brow. She was standing at the door of the compartment because she knew that he was going to let the thing out of its carrier. "It always scratches me. Maybe we can trade it off to an unsuspecting First Year."
She eyed the cat now as it stared back at her. "Yeah, I just said that to you, baldy." Ha! She hated that animal. It was pure evil.
Noticing the boy in the compartment with Zayden, she waved hello to him, having no idea who this person was.

Oh?
He had forgotten to knock? Really? Auggie had been raised properly and was all for manners but to be chewed out for not knocking on a train compartment door when he had thought the thing was empty to begin with was a tad annoying.
"Oh sorry about that." he mumbled. And then when the boy agreed to let him stay, the Gryffindor smiled a bit. He had fully expected to be thrown out unceremoniously. "Thanks." Before he was able to introduce himself, a girl entered the compartment and indicated the source of the howling, August hadn't pinned down yet.
A BALD cat. August's first reaction was to pull his feet up off the floor away from the monster but thought better. That was rude. He waved back and then looked at the two of them, they knew each other--not him. "I'm August Goldstein, 4th year Gryffindor."

Cornelius was having a great time. Sure, no one had yet to enter his compartment, but he was humming his favorite song! And if he could say so himself, it sounded fantastic! Just listening to himself hum, it was like professional humming! Was that a profession? If so, he needed to look into that! Cornelius Rune: The Professional Hummer. You pick the song, he'll hum it! Just imagine that kind of career! Thousands of people chanting your name, all waiting to hear the sounds of your hum! Man, he was so ready to take this on the road. Was there a music course at this new school, was there any kind of humming regime he could set out for himself? Professional humming as a career couldn't be thought of as a joke! It takes work to be a professional hummer --
And just as Cor was thinking about his professional career as the world's most famous hummer, he heard an interruption! He shut up momentarily, whipping his head around to look out the open doors of the compartment, finding himself staring down another student who was currently clearing his throat. "Oh! Hey!" Cornelius greeted as he hopped up to his feet, misunderstanding the other student's throat clearing and thinking of it as a way of asking for entry rather than a way to shut him up.
"Come on in!" he said, reaching out an arm and grabbing the disgruntled looking student's hand. All in one motion, he shook his hand for introduction and pulled him into the compartment, assuming that was why he had stopped by in the first place.
"I'm Cornelius," Cor explained, shaking his hand enthusiastically as they stood there in the middle of the compartment.

She eyed the cat now as it stared back at her. "Yeah, I just said that to you, baldy." Ha! She hated that animal. It was pure evil.
Noticing the boy in the compartment with Zayden, she waved hello to him, having no idea who this person was.

Zayden's face brightened up when he heard his girlfriend's voice and, within a second, he was staring up at her. "At home? He would tear up my whole room if I left him unoccupied! He's like... a little untrained toddler." He was still hesitating whether he wanted to open the cage or not. Did he really want to put the whole train in danger?
"An unsuspecting First Year? That's... mean but I like the idea." Strangely. He just wanted this cat off his hands. "This cat does have feelings, though, Amelia. He's just... doesn't really care about people... or anything." He wrinkled his nose at the hairless thing in the cage. It was SO UGLY.
He looked back up at the boy who had welcomed himself into his compartment. "It's fine, mate, and you're welcome." He ran a hand through his blonde hair before saying, "Do you want a cat?" He smirked now because, well, this kid would be smart to say 'no'. "I'm only kidding. I wouldn't make your life awful by handing you this cat." Maybe his sister could take it...
"August? Interesting name." He grinned. "I'm Zayden Abrams. Seventh year Slytherin."

Amelia winked at Zayden as she saw him smiling at her. "I don't care. That thing ruined my Edward Cullen doll, it deserves to suffer." :33 It was true, that was a serious crime in her eyes. "I'm sure he can find a nice First Year to look after him. Can't you, ugly?" Did she mention that she hated that cat? :3
She grinned at the new boy now. "Amelia Reinhart, Seventh Year. Pleased to meet you." She curtsied to the boy now.
Logan smiled. "Same here! What house do you wanna be in?" he asked.
Sammy closed the comic book and sat it on the seat next to him. Might as well give Logan his full attention. "Awesome. Not really sure just yet. I'm leaning more towards Hufflepuff though. You?"

Alyssa smiled at Alec. "Nice to meet you, Alec Summers. So you are to meet a new friend? Would that new friend be me, because if it is, then I would love to be your friend." Alyssa told him.
When she heard the concern in Alec's voice when he asked her whether she was okay, Alyssa's smile wavered for a second. But she quickly forced it back upmbecause she didn't want him to have to worry about her. He was too young to have to hear about her depressing life. Alyssa sighed and thought about Kita. She missed the older girl especially more right now, because Kita always knew how to make her feel better. 'But enough about Kita. You have Alec here and he's worried about you, so put on that smile, Alyssa,' Alyssa thought to herself.
"Oh yes, Alec. I'm fine. I was just missing my family and feeling lonely. But now that I have you here as my friend, I don't feel so lonely anymore." Alyssa told him, hoping that he would believe her lie. "So tell me more about yourself, and I'll tell you more about me." Alyssa asked the younger boy.

Oh, the sweet sound of silence! Or, the sound closest to silence in a crowded train filled with teenage students.
Edric relished in it with closed eyes and just the tiniest hint of a smile on his lips.
Oh, silence. Sweet, sweet silence. He could almost taste it.
But it was interrupted as the young fellow who'd been humming Edric's eardrums to death earlier, spoke, inviting the young man in. Edric merely gave him a look. "No thank you, I was actually asking y--GAH!" SPLAT!
Next thing Edric knew, one side of his face was pressed hard against the window all the way at the other side of the compartment.
WHAT. THE. HELL!?
Had that kid SERIOUSLY just dragged him in there like a rag doll made just for his own personal enjoyment?!
With a groan, Edric pulled his face off the glass and massaged it with one hand before turning to the happy guy and shooting him a glare. "What was THAT for!?" Sheesh, he didn't take criticism to his humming very well, did he?! (Of course, Edric was assuming this was all an attack rather than an invitation).
However, before Edric could even think about making his way back to the door, the other teenage boy - who had just introduced himself as 'Cornelius' - was shaking his hand with such vigor that Edric could feel his arm coming loose by the shoulder.
What was going on?! First his face, now his arm! This guy seriously had it for him!
"D-D-D-o-o-o-o y-y-y-you m-m-m-i-i-ind?" Cornelius was shaking Edric's hand and arm so badly that the Gryffindor's voice had begun to vibrate. In one swift motion, he pulled his hand back. "Why are you doing this?!" he asked, looking traumatized.
