Default Middle of the Train

Not quite front, not quite back. Find a seat in the middle cars and be close to all the action.

"Merlin, I seriously didn't think I'd miss you." And Louisa's usual harsh honesty was on as she flopped down opposite of the... wait for it.. GRADUATE. Also, it was indeed true, not seeing the girl for the entire summer! THREE months... or less. Or more. Louisa had been quite busy that she lost track of time but she did miss Ellie Johanson just as she missed Vashti, Kita and Enya. Shockers.

The new Head Boy opened up the door, "Good day, ladies." His eyes went from Ellie to..., "I know you. You're Louisa, right?" the one that made him slide on the grounds? Yeah, that same Louisa.

He was just lingering out the door, watching some students pass by, before settling his eyes on the one who'll be graduating with him. "Did you have a good summer, Ellie?"

This is what he thought about as he went down the train. He was also looking for Ellie, because he thought he had an idea of where she might be sitting. The middle of the train. It seemed like her favorite part of the train, so that's where Dallin decided to look first. He didn't have to look far, either, because he found Ellie's compartment easily.

Slipping inside, he pulled his trunk with Barty's cage inside. And the compartment was quite full compared to usual. "Treyen," he said, because the Hufflepuff was the first one Dallin saw. And then... "Ellie, and...Louisa!" It was just a party in here, wasn't it? He pushed his trunk over so that it wasn't blocking the doorway, then he went to sit by Ellie. He kissed his girlfriend on the cheek quickly before waving at Louisa and leaning forward to look at Treyen.

"Congratulations on the Head Boy thing."

The reason mattered not, for she had a huge grin on her face after recognizing the back of his head. She skipped up to the compartment and, because he was the first she noticed, spoke to Treyen. "Look, Treyen! I got a flower!" she said as if it were some sort of accomplishment, holding it out for him to see.

Then she saw all who were in the compartment. Why, Dallin, of course! And his pretty, shy girlfriend. And that Louisa girl that made her feel popular for knowing who she was at the feast last year. "Hi guys!" Ellie slipped into the compartment and took a seat.

She had a flower. Grin.

Ellie was enjoying the peace and quiet when - Oh. Hello, Louisa Carter. Ellie jumped just a tad as the door slid open with a loud crash. What a way to make an appearance, eh? And Louisa had a cat? Ellie was allergic to cats. D: And it wasn't just the fact that she despised them, she actually was allergic to them. Them and their stupid, fluffy hair. Anyway. "And if it isn't Louisa Carter herself." She replied with a nod.

At her next choice of words, Ellie raised her eyebrows. She seriously didn't think she'd miss her? Ellie didn't know how she was supposed to take that. Part of her wanted to be offended, but the other part knew it was just Louisa and she shouldn't take that seriously. So, she just laughed and returned her one-armed hug. "Thank you, I guess. I suppose I missed you too." She said with a wink as Louisa sat on the opposite bench. That girl was silly.

Just then, the door opened again and Ellie looked up to see the new Head Boy. Which was kind of a surprise, for some reason. "Hey, Treyen." She greeted with a friendly smile. He was a nice kid. When he addressed her, Ellie nodded. "Yeah, it was really good. Had lots of fun." Short and sweet answer. That was good, right? "And what about you, Mr. Head Boy? Did you have a good time in Ireland?" Because he had said something about camping in Ireland. Yep.

Oh, look. Dallin was here too! This was fun. She smiled as he kissed her cheek and she returned the gesture. She would've kissed him for reeeaal, but there were children around. COUGHlouisaCOUGH. Putting a hand on Dallin's knee, Ellie stretched her legs out and rested her feet on the bench across from her. "Long time no see," she said, even though it was like, 5 minutes ago when they were talking to Carter. But whatever.

And then another person appeared. Ellie Stone. Ellie Johanson still had a slight fear of this girl for some reason. She seemed like the tough, Quidditch type and that probably came with the Captain status. The girl never really did anything that made Ellie J. fear her; she just seemed... intimidating. Well. Except today. Ellie watched as the other Ellie bounced in with a huge grin. And a flower that she seemed very happy about. Ellie looked at her skeptically and smiled a little. "Hi." Ellie said somewhat timidly. Was she always like this?

Just after he'd spoke, someone said his name. "Dallin," he nodded, but he hadn't given much thought to the greeting until he realized who it was that had showed up, "Dallin! How have you been?" Did he know that he'd been practicing his patronus over the summer? And that it truly was a phoenix? Like, a real phoenix? His sister would've been impressed by it, but she cared for her otter patronus way too much. He couldn't blame her, it was incredibly detailed, and she could even send messages with it and such. He'll get there. Eventually. He was fine with the way his patronus was at the moment. At least he could distinguish what it was.

Head Boy? Like, how did he know? He wasn't wearing his badge, was he? "Thanks."

His eyes focused on Ellie, next to Dallin, as she replied. Lots of fun? A very good summer, then. "That's good." He said, before his smile widened a bit, "Oh, Ireland was...amazing. I liked it there." Not as much as he'd liked Italy, but it was a very nice country, indeed. One made for camping, most certainly. It also helped that his two best friends went with him.

The young man was about to mention that he'll probably visit Ireland again...but...

...someone distracted him.

ELLIE! His Ellie. The smile he was wearing started to vanish rather quickly at her words. A flower? Who gave his girlfriend a flower? "Who gave you the flower?" that was a very fair question, yes? HOWEVER, That's not what had made his smile disappear entirely, because he was wondering about something else at the moment.

His eyes scanned the rest of the compartment as she took a seat. Guess she'll be staying here for the whole trip, right? Sounded good to him. Honestly, he was only thinking whether he should say the next bit or not. Treyen supposed he could.

"I didn't--I didn't know you liked flowers." HE DIDN'T. And that was such a tragedy in his mind! Wasn't he supposed to know those kind of things? And she obviously did like flowers, otherwise she wouldn't be too happy about having received one, right?

Her eyes scanned around a bit, looking for her new friend but caught no sight of her. Honestly, Val hadn't expected her to be here just yet but it still would have been nice, yes?

Of course it would have been.

With a final look she snapped her head around and went into the compartment, her legs propped up on the seat. Yeah, now all she could do was wait and pray the blonde was timely, maybe not as timely as she was but at least had SOME sort of sense of time. It would have been a nightmare if Bells had been late and missed the train, not only a nightmare for Bells but also for Val. She'd be the one who would be sitting alone.

She waited.
Arabella made sure that Roma was safe where she'd left his cage, and toddled off to find Val. The pair of new friends had decided to atleast share their first train journey together, instead of being alone. And Bells would have made perfect timing and been where she needed to be, had she not almost lost Princess Diana. The cat had leaped from the bag an started to run! Who DID that, apart from - it seemed - Di?!! Arabella wasn't the fastest of runners, but she most certainly was capable of weaving through the masses of students in the corridors. "Will you just SIT in a compartment? You, you fire hazards!!" Did people know that little?

After finding Princess Diana just sat outside one random compartment, Bells raised her eyebrow and peeked in to see if she very possibly knew them. And she did! Val! "I am so, so, glad I found you, Val! Well, Princess Di did actually." Bells states, raising a quick eyebrow down at the cat, and taking a seat opposite her friend. They'd do this together. The train journey, and hopefully th whole experience! So long as they weren't sorted into different houses, and they didn't argue over a BOY!

Just as he opened his mouth to respond, the other student cut him off, asking why he was doing 'this'. "Doing what, exactly?" Cornelius asked in honest confusion, turning around as though expecting to find some wizard's chess or some other activity he had been doing that made Mr. Unknown ask that question.

Giving a shrug, he quickly moved on, standing before the boy and absentmindedly bouncing on the balls of his feet, his hands falling to his side. "I'm glad someone finally came in; for whatever reason, people seem to have been avoiding the compartment," Cornelius explained with a shrug and a soft chuckle, plopping down in his old seat and looking up at the newcomer with a grin. He didn't seem to realize it was probably because of his humming.

"So...you never told me your name?" Cor quickly moved subjects, crossing his arms over his chest.

"And do you have a house too?" he added with a face of confusion, pulling out a piece of paper from his duffle bag and looking at it with furrowed brows, obviously being an information sheet of some kind. "I don't really understand the whole house thing... Do we get..houses? Like actual homes? Do we have to build them ourselves...? Do they come furnished?"

The blonde walked with her bag sitting on her shoulder, made her way down the train's corridor to the Middle Cars. She was looking for an empty compartment or a close to empty one. If she didn't find one then the sixteen year old had decided that it would be good to meet some new people because Selena was up in the Prefect Compartment. As she passed filled compartments, she began to lose hope; however, she spotted a fairly open one with two people in it. Maybe?

She'd give it a try.

Knocking on the compartment door, she slid it open and smiled at the two boys. They looked about her age. Possibly they were younger than her but they looked kind of friendly. Time to be polite. "Umm.. Excuse me, I was wondering if I could join you two?" she asked, flashing them a kind smile as she waited for either one of them to accept or refuse her. "I'm Emma. Emma Malfoy by the way. You two seem new here.." she added, making small talk.

"Oh hey..." he returned with a smile, pausing his movements. "I was wondering where you had gotten to." Which was true, not that he was keeping tabs on her or following her every move. Selina had a right to go and be anywhere, he had simply been curious. "Its hanging there," Gideon remarked with a tilt of his head registering then that he may or may not have told her about that skill.

"Um...aye I do," he answered, absently adjusting the strap as it shifted threatening to slip from its place.
She tilted her head to get a better look at the guitar that was on his back. After knowing one another for just over a year she did not know that he played guitar. A part of her was embarrassed about the fact that she did not know, but then again at school when did people have the time or the place to play their instruments. She only knew Kurumi played the piano because of a conversation the two had when they had first met. In fact, she had never even heard Kurumi play. So the fact that she did not know Gideon played did not surprise her. It did make her feel a little bashful though. That was something she should have known.

When he stated that it was just hanging their she smirked at him and said, "Well someone is being cheeky today." And he was being very cheeky indeed. First on the platform, now here. Then again that was just Gideon. She just hoped their was no grand exclamation from Kacie in the corridor this time.

She looked at the guitar and said, "Well I didn't know that. How long have you played?" Honestly, the whole idea of him playing just added to his whole persona. She thought it was very fitting.

'Hi'.

Ellie was 986% sure that that was all she's ever heard Ellie J. say. No, really. She had to be just about the shyest person the redhead's ever met. REALLY. "How was your summer?" she asked, urging the girl on to make conversation. Though, anyone could answer that, really.

Her flower!! "This new girl gave it to me, Treyen! Her name's Laci! She said we're going to be friends! ...Which...actually..." Until that point, Ellie'd worn a large smile on her face. But now...it had shrunk considerably. "She's kind of scary, to be honest. But..." Then Ellie shrugged and grinned again, "I got a flower!"

That was when she took a moment to read his expression. Erm... "Don't look so upset over that..." REALLY. The only time they'd talked about plants was when he helped her study Herbology last term. Which actually helped IMMENSELY, by the way. But her liking flowers was hardly in a position to be brought up.

A shrug rolled off her shoulders again. "If you must know...I don't particularly like them. I don't particularly dislike them. And, actually, they always just end up dying the next day." Her eye's left Treyen's to frown at the flower.

"But isn't it pretty?!" She asked, grinning once more, and holding it out for him to see again.

Daisy ran along the train grinning like a maniac. She was going home. Well, her second home; her first home was her little house in Wales, but Hogwarts, where she spent most of the year felt like a home too. A great big home with lots of friends and awesome food.
Having put her trolley somewhere safe, she only had her bag, but then again, that was weighed down with ketchup, and her cat. Slowing down to stop herself from almost knocking to kids who were almost surely first years flat on their faces, she opened the door to a random compartment, hoping that it was empty, or that the occupants could put up with her...

Finally!, the girl almost shouted when finding an almost empty compartment. There, she was sick and tired of the first years that were standing like trolls on the corridor, making circulation almost impossible. What, like it is my fault for them standing in my way? Psh, the Ravenclaw thought when opening the compartment door. Quickly scanning the place, Gwen spotted another girl, that looked about her age.

‘Umm… mind if I join you?’, she smirked and couldn’t wait to finally sit down and not worry someone was going to run her down. Grr… those first years would better watch it!

Looking back at the girl, Gwen reached out her hand. ‘I’m Gwen, by the way. Gwen Greene’, she smirked again, waiting for the other student to say something.

Louisa was just making herself comfortable in the opposite bench, her Viola was curling up in her lap and going back to sleep, when a slightly tall person walked in. And knew her name. Louisa frowned thoughtfully at him, "Yeah.." she was Louisa. Now who was he-"Oh! You're Trey." Dallin's friend who didn't help her with homework. Tch tch tch, bad title. The fifteen years old watched him getting comfortable in the far end of her bench and talking to Ellie. Good. She didn't want to socialize with Prefects not helping younger students. Not that she was young, she was fifteen now.

...and then precious Dallin walked in! Louisa's face brightened when he met her eyes and waved. Instinctively, her gaze was fixated on that cheekbone that was bruised a couple of months earlier. "Hi." She said, awkwardly seeing him kissing Ellie. Ahem. "You're a Head Boy?" She shot a look at the Trey boy. He better be more helpful as a Head Boy than a Prefect. "That's good." Making it sound like a bad word. Kind of. She had moved her eyes outside the window for a second before the door was open again with a cheerful high-pitched voice. Curiously to see WHO would cram themselves in the already crowded compartment, the Captaaaain!

O___o What?

The fifth year's mouth was slightly open as the redhead cooed over the flower. And. Wait, what was this with the new Head Boy? Louisa squirmed closer to the window for Stone to sit next to her... friend. Although him being skeptical about the flower gave her the feeling that those two shared more than just friendship. Meh. Whatever.

Viola, the tabby cat, was pretty much snoring lightly in her lap by now. Not even those loud voices especially the squealing about the flower kept her from sleeping. Louisa petted the cat's fur slowly as she observed the elderly crowd in the compartment, and keeping her mouth closed.

Daisy looked up, smiling. A girl of about her age, but not her house was entering the compartment, holding out a hand.
Daisy shook it, 'Hi,' she smiled, 'I'm Daisy, Daisy Tucker - in Hufflepuff.' Although she didn't know her, the girl seemed nice enought, and Daisy liked meeting new people. 'What house are you in? I think I've seen you before at Hogwarts...'
Opening her bag, she pulled out a couple of chocolate frogs and offered them to Gwen, eating one herself

"Its fine" she replied with a smile. Big crowds of people always meant someone was going to loose who they were with at the time being.
"Alright. wow I can't believe schools starting already, and we're going to be second years" she said. She made it through her first year, which wasn't all bad mostly good. Just hopefully most exciting things happen this year.

Thinking about memories she agreed "I know, I guess it won't seem like long until we're seventh years" she mentioned. Time was just flying by it seemed, but she wouldn't be looking forward to seventh year.

"I'm with you on that thought, I don't want to leave all my friends" she agreed. She also wondered what would happen with her and Ryan by that time, oh well she wouldn't be looking forward to seventh year no matter what.
Time to get her mind off of that it was about 5 years away so nothing to worry about too much right now.

Hogwarts RPG Name:
Enya Mayberry
Fourth Year
Default Dare.
Workaholic || HOGwart | iloveyou. || SnowQueenEviee.

Enya strolled into the middle of the train, a guitar that her parents had given her over the summer in one hand. Even though it was going to be a tight squeeze she was going to sing a sing and sing a song loud. She stopped part way into the hallway and looked around before giving a small smile and stopped bringing her guitar round to start played. She'd been practicing and although she wasn't the bestShe was the BEST, this was going to be fun. With a cough and a deep breath she started to sing quietly at first but then she gained volume and began to sing her heart out;

It’s the most beautiful time of the year
Lights fill the streets spreading so much cheer
I should be playing in the winter snow
But I'mma be under the mistletoe
I don’t want to miss out on the holiday
But I can’t stop staring at your face
I should be playing in the winter snow
But I’mma be under the mistletoe
With you, shawty with you
With you, shawty with you
With you under the mistletoe
Everyone's gathering around the fire
Chestnuts roasting like a hot July
I should be chillin' with my folks, I know
But I’mma be under the mistletoe
Word on the street santa's coming tonight,
Reindeer's flying in the sky so high
I should be making a list I know
But I’mma be under the mistletoe
With you, shawty with you
With you, shawty with you
With you under the mistletoe
With you, shawty with you
With you, shawty with you
With you under the mistletoe
Eh, love, the wise men followed the star
The way I follow my heart
And it led me to a miracle
Eh love, don't you buy me nothing
I am feeling one thing, your lips on my lips
That's a very, merry Christmas
It’s the most beautiful time of the year
Lights fill the streets spreading so much cheer
I should be playing in the winter snow
But I'mma be under the mistletoe
I don’t want to miss out on the holiday
But I can’t stop staring at your face
I should be playing in the winter snow
But I’mma be under the mistletoe
With you, shawty with you
With you, shawty with you
With you under the mistletoe
With you, shawty with you
With you, shawty with you
Shawty with you, under the mistletoe
Kiss me underneath the mistletoe
Show me baby that you love me so-oh-oh
Oh, oh ,ohhh
Kiss me underneath the mistletoe,
Show me baby that you love me so-oh-oh
Oh, oh ,ohhh

She finished the last note and a last string of her guitar and smiled all around her before bowing to them all.

"Thank You" She said simply before leaving, she was going to kill those who dared her to sing the retched song in the first place.

I have my grade eight music exam at Christmas... and I guess I'll just see how that goes." Even if she did play professionally it would probably just be a spare-time thing... potions was her true calling... probably. "We have a house in Roehampton..." she said. "It's kinda on the edge of London. But we don't live there very often." Yet another reason why you could have too much money - it made your kids feel awkward around their friends. Thanks, stupid old money. "Anyway, once you're seventeen you can just cast a spell to soundproof it!" she added, grinning. See, there was a magical solution to everything!

She turned away from the window as the platform disappeared completely. "That was my brother..." she said absentmindedly, though he could probably tell by the hair. "Probably getting himself into more trouble... Do you have any siblings?" she asked. Ah, the grounds... "Yeah, it's lovely. And the Slytherin common room is under the lake! You can see into it through our windows." she told him - best not give too much away... what if he wasn't a snake? "And there's the Quidditch pitch, and the forbidden forest, and all that stuff." But her favourite place was the courtyard - the acoustics were perfect for violin practice... and she couldn't wait to try out her new bow there. "I'm sure you'll be fine. They wouldn't have let you in if you wouldn't be." she added.

"Well, why wouldn't you? It's funny." But probably not if you weren't used to it all... "Wait 'till the food trolley comes past, I'll show you the chocolate frogs!" she said, grinning. Well, they were cool! Even she thought so - and she was used to them!
"A potioneer? Guessin' that has somethin' to do with potions" he stated rather obviously. This potions stuff didn't sound particularly appealing to him but he was sure he'd find something that would be of interest. He'd heard they had 'muggle studies' and if it was an interesting subject and not how to iron then he was fairly certain that he would be good at that. "Well err.. Good luck" he smiled slightly, though he'd probably be able to offer his luck closer to the time. It may be a big school but they'd still see eachother in lessons wouldn't they? Roehampton sounded fairly familiar but the fact it was obviously one of many a home belonging to her made him feel slightly degraded. "Must be nice" he mumbled, glancing down at his hands that were rested in her lap. "Yeah. Guess I could. Bit of a wait though" He was only 14 after all.

"Thought so. You look similar" he looked out of the window, watching the rows of houses fade away out of sight to leave the flat greenery on the outside of London. "A little sister, non-magical" he stated, and deep down he was glad of that. Being a wizard made him different, unique. Unlike any of his schoolmates. The common rooms sounded like a good idea, though it made him a little worried that he would be separated from the few friends he had right now. "Sounds dead cool" Like being on the other side of an aquarium tank, provided there were things you could see swimming around in the lake and it wasn't dark and dirty like the Thames. Forbidden? He raised his eyebrow. Sounded like an open invitation to him. "Eh they don't know me yet" he laughed.

"Cos it's a bit of a surprise for us Muggleborns. Ain't there a warning on these things?" he asked, they needed one. "Anythin' chocolate would go down smoothly with me" he laughed. It just agreed with him.

Aurora nodded, "Yeah, my Mother does it." she said. "Like, she does specialist stuff." For lazy or untalented witches (or wizards, usually) who could afford to pay her Mother for them. "Oh, thanks. I'm gonna need it." she said, grinning slightly. "Theory is difficult!" Pfft, the music was so pretty... it was kind of worth the annoying written work. "Yeah, I guess. Sometimes I wish we could stay in one place though." Not that she had anything against traveling - it was fabulous - but it made things difficult. "Only three years. And you could always try and learn at school." After all, the Room of Requirement had provided her with a piano, so surely it could provide other stuff.

"Yep, it's the Irish part of the family." she said, running a hand through her curls. "Full of red-heads." Well, her father's side of the family anyway... most of her mother's family were blonde. Including her sister. Aurora, apart from the hair colour, was the spitting image of her older sister - and it really annoyed her. "Younger sister? Cute! I have an older brother and sister, both graduated - though Tiff went to Durmstrang not Hogwarts - and both moved out." she said, shrugging. It was cool though - meant she was spoilt rotten...

"It is cool! I don't know much about the other common rooms... Gryffindor and Ravenclaw are in the towers, and Hufflepuff is on the Kitchen level." she said. "But other than that I have no idea." Maybe she should ask someone about it some time... "Well... good point." she gave in. "But I think you'll be fine." And she couldn't really vouch for anyone else's opinion...

Aurora laughed slightly, "Nope - they're kinda normal for us." she said. "And if there was a warning it would be in German. These are from Mystiche Strasse in Wuzburg - it's like a German Diagon Alley basically." she added as an explanation. "Well, the chocolate frogs actually jump." Aurora said, "But they have collectors cards in them as well." Though she didn't collect them... too much effort.

Ella walked through the train with a ridiculous grin on her face. This was the train that was going to take her to her new home and she was overcome with excitement. Now if only she could find somewhere to sit. She was hoping to find at least one familiar face on the train. She wondered where Logan was, the nice boy who had saved her from that crazy chair. She laughed at the memory.

Did he know that he'd been practicing his patronus over the summer?

Dallin put an arm around Ellie's back, trying to be careful and not too couple-like because there were other people in the compartment. Including Louisa. And the Head Boy. "I've been good," he answered with a smile. "I had a nice summer." All things considering. There were a few rough spots, but he didn't need to bring those up now. "What about you?"

And - oh, look! The Ravenclaw Quidditch Captain. Dallin waved at Ellie S., but she probably didn't see him. She was busy loving a flower. And Dallin had never seen her like that, to be honest. Except for maybe during one of their birthday celebrations.

Then Treyen started asking about the flower and Dallin bit his lip. For their sake he hoped a boy hadn't given Ellie the flower. He understood why Treyen might not be too happy about that. But it wasn't his business anyway so Dallin just kind of... turned to Ellie J., and replied to her earlier statement.

"Haven't seen you in what, ten minutes?" Heh. Whatever though. They had been ten minutes in a crowded, chaotic train filled with eleven-year-olds that Dallin felt he might accidentally step on and squish. So it was nice to be in this peaceful compartment with old students that Dallin knew he wouldn't step on.

It was right about then that Dallin noticed how quiet Louisa had gotten. So, he turned his attention toward her for a moment. "How've you been?" He asked, kicking his leg out toward her to get her attention. They hadn't seen each other since she came to visit him. He wanted to know how Brazil was. And he wanted to know what she did to her boyfriend for hitting him.

Edric opened his mouth to reply to Cornelius's first question. Buuuut, that didn't happen. Cornelius was moving on to bigger and better things quickly, and Edric had no choice but to keep most answers to himself. As the other boy mentioned people avoiding his compartment, the Gryffindor rolled his eyes. GEE. I wonder WHY.

Then Cornelius was asking him his name. Then if he had a house ("What? Of course I have a house, where do you think I've been liv--"). Then if the students got homes. Then if the homes were pre-built. THEN if the homes were furnished.

AAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHH!!! Make it STOP!!!
Edric couldn't take it anymore. This guy was driving him absolutely INSANE. He had never witnessed anything more irritating in his whole life!

Fed up, the Gryffindor made a quick 180 and walked straight to the door, not bothering to give Cornelius a good-bye.
And then the door opened. His path was blocked by a friendly blonde girl who went ahead and began to introduce herself as if anyone cared.

Nooooooooooo! The compartments were starting to fill up now, surely if this girl was here it meant that there were probably no more empty compartments left! He'd have to… to… to-- to SHARE! :'(
And with the most annoying people in Hogwarts, too, it seemed.

With defeat weighing his body down, the fifteen-year-old walked back into the compartment and allowed himself to drop gracelessly on the seat. He would have to spend the next 729 hours with these people , and he had two choices - keep to himself and hopefully sleep the whole way to the school, or try to actually get along with his tormentors.
... He shouldn't have had all that coffee before boarding the train.

"I'm new," he muttered to the blonde girl's comment about him and the other guy looking new. Gee, was he that obvious? He couldn't even tell if the other guy was new too or a returning student. "Starting my fifth year."

Cornelius didn't seem to notice that the only other person in his compartment was heading straight for the door, still focused on the crumpled piece of parchment he held in his hands, brows furrowed. It was only as the doors opened that he looked up, distracted by the sound, and was quickly met with the sight of a blonde girl, asking if she could join them. "Of course you can!" he immediately called, jumping to his feet as he listened to her introduce herself and mention that the two boys looked new.

Cor gave an enthusiastic nod, grabbing her hand gently and beginning to shake it similarly to how he shook Edric's. "Cornelius Rune, pleasure to have your aquaintance," he announced as he shook her hand, dropping the handshake a moment later with a grin. "And yes, I'm new."

It was only as the boy sitting somewhere behind him spoke, explaining that he was a new student starting his fifth year, that Cornelius began a slow motion turn towards the unknown boy, his eyes widening all the while as though a great mystery had just been uncovered and he was the head detective.

"YOU ARE KIDDING ME!" Cornelius nearly yelled in his excitement, quickly abandoning his place next to Emma and practically running the two feet over to the other male student in the compartment. His face set in pure enthusiasm, the boy plopped down in the seat next to this still un-named student, turning towards him. "Dude."

"Way to try to keep a secret!" he accused, shoving his arm gently as he revelled in this new information. Realizing the other new student might not understand, he sat up a bit straighter to explain, "I'm new, and I'm starting my fifth year too!" He let his mouth fall open as though expressing Edric's own surprise for him.

Lily boarded the train for the first time as she prepared to go to Hogwarts. She was excited but also very nervous. She walked along the hall past multiple compartments with people in them until she reached an empty one where she sat down. She lifted her trunk up to the rack and put her rucksack down next to her along with her baby snowy owl, Phoenix. She went into her bag and pulled out a chocolate frog that she proceeded to open. She checked out the card that came along with it before taking out her Hogwarts, A History book which she flipped through while waiting for the train to leave. Inside, she wondered whether she would fit in at the school, whether she would make friends, and what house she would be sorted into.
