| | |  Magical Shootout Dueling Match!
 Twenty feet away from the potato sack races there is an enclosure where the dueling matches will take place. Stepping inside the enclosure you will see a raised platform in the centre of the room with torches aligning the walls and surrounding the platform. The actual dueling arena is ten feet by ten feet, allowing for movement around the platform.
The object of the duel is to cast spells at your opponent and force them into submission to decide a winner. As this is a wizard’s duel only magical means of combat is allowed.
The IC rules:- Both opponents must stand in the centre of the platform and bow to each other.
- Turn and take ten paces, then turn and face your opponent again.
- Begin duel.
- Duelers must stay on the platform at all times. If you are forced off or step off the platform three times then you will be disqualified.
- No Unforgivable curses are to be used. You will not only find yourself disqualified from the dueling match but you will be EXPELLED from Hogwarts.
- The last person standing is the winner.
- If it appears the duel is a draw then an official will decide the winner on the spells that were cast.
The OOC rules:- Each dueling session will be open for an hour at a time.
- A question will be asked at the beginning of the session. The first to answer will determine the winner of the duel.
- The first two competitors to answer the question correctly will duel. In the event that the year groups are too far apart i.e. a first year and a fifth year, the first year and the next person closest to that year group will duel. Alternative arrangements will be made to accommodate the other (fifth year) person.
- The two competitors may then RP their duel. REMEMBER YOU HAVE ONLY ONE HOUR TO RP THE DUEL. So please ensure that you are online at that time.
- If for some reason you have to leave in the middle of the duel, then please inform the staff member who is running it at the time and other arrangements will have to be made.
- While we encourage creativity, please remember your character's age and their capabilities.

Gemma flicked her wand and the platform turned red signaling the students to halt their duel. She stepped into the middle of the platform and motioned for the two students to come to the middle and stand by her.
Once they had approached she smiled at each of them. "Thank you for taking in part in the second duel. Great job!" she shook her head up and down and then continued.
"The winner of this duel is Tiffany!" she said clapping as she finished her statement. She handed the young girl a Wand Cleaning Kit as her prize and gave both of the competitors a token for their hard work. "The next duel will begin shortly." she said before stepping off the platform.

Oakey hopped up onto the platform and almost immediatley lost his balance. Quickly catching himself he walked up to the center of the stage and waited for his opponent to meet him. He bowed to her then turned and took his first few paces back all while contemplating what his first move should be. Should I go with Protego and take the defensive or should I start of with something fancy and go on the offensive
Nine paces, TEN! He turned and got his wand at the ready! DEFENSE IT IS!

Oakey was surprised at his lose to say the least. He cast some pretty impresive spells and a few had hit their target. But hey, anyone who can catch their wand in midair then cast a spell on the landing certainly does deserve the win. He walked up to Olivia and put his hand out to shake. You're pretty amazing, I hope you know that. He eyed her Wand Holster jelously. Nice prize he told the younger Slytherin girl. He then turned to Professor Cerulean. Is my arm gonna be fine?Oakey pointed to the two itsy bitsy bite marks on his forearm. He did reduce the size of the snake, but was unsure if the reptile was posionous or not.

"I Won"? She couldn't believe it, Oakey was a really good dueler. Olivia was jumping with glee " I beat a third year! Wow!" She took the prize from Gemma "thank you, for the holster!".
" Thanks, you were good too" Olivia said to Oakey as she shook his hand. His spells were hard to dodge. "Im considering trying out for seeker next year, after catching the wand like that". " The snake being poisonous? "I hope the bites heal soon" ,but at the same time It would be awesome if the snakes were poisonous.
