The glittering night sky is clear and visible through the enchanted ceiling, and the floating candles bedeck the entire hall in a warm golden light. All seems well with the world, aside from the empty plates still waiting for food to appear.

But...wherever she'd baked his birthday's cupcakes...was a good a place as the Hogwarts' kitchens.
"Oh really? Thanks for correcting me on that. So that rule was only for last term? Cool. I definitely know where I'll be visiting a lot. Plus I would like too see how the baby House Elf is doing. Is it okay if we do that?" Alyssa asked the HeadBoy.

Alyssa laughed at what Oakey said."I know what you mean. I didn't know how much I would miss this place until I stepped back in here. I'm glad that I decided to come back after all. He's a muggleborn, you see, so he knows a lot about their non-magical-and-boring world!" Sophie explained, but she said that joking, of course, she liked her muggle friends and family.
Sophie listened carefully to Alyssa's words, her eyes opened wide again. She didn't want to get detention! What would her father think? Nope, not for her. She was a good girl. "Ok then! I'll stay away from the kitchens. Don't want Hufflepuff to lose any points!" she said, even though she was even more curious to see the kitchens now. But no! "I'm a good girl. I'm. A good. Girl!" she thought. And she really wanted Huffllepuff to win the House Cup while she was at Hogwarts. But gee, how amazing the kitchen might be...! Maybe someday...
As soon as Sophie thought those things, an older boy appeared behind them, making her look up with her big brown eyes.
"Wait, so there's a chance they're open for students this year?" Sophie asked, getting even more excited. Hogwarts was getting better and better!
"I have lots of Muggle friends back home too. But I don't think I woud have been able to handle being in a muggle school. Even before my magical powers were developed, I enjoyed seeing what my siblings could do. In fact, I was afraid that I wouldn't have any and end up being a squib. So I'm happy keeping my magical powers to myself but at the same time still be able to hang out with my muggle friends."Alyssa told Sophie.
She then smiled when Sophie got really excited after hearing that the kitchen may be one to every student. She shared the girl's excitement.
Wait, now Glenn was getting confused. So they were allowed in the kitchens. "So we're allowed perhaps?" She said sceptically.
Her eyes spotted the badge on the boys chest, "You're head boy!" She said, perhaps a little too loudly, "I'm Glenn, only a second-year" Glenn nodded and shrugged. She started fiddling idly with her hair, her stomach grumbling loudly.
The other girl also commented...and Treyen smiled, "Hopefully. So, if there isn't a sign out the door that says something like 'Keep Out', then it's safe for you to enter." That went for every single door in Hogwarts, okay? Though, there was no need to mention that, surely they wouldn't go into a door that most specifically said not to enter, right?
Hey! LOOKIT! The girl knew what his badge implied. That was actually pretty neat. "I am." He said, with a nod. "And it's nice to meet you, Glenn, I'm Treyen." She already knew he was Head Boy, and a Hufflepuff. She must have known he was a seventh year too, hence the badge. So, he added nothing else after his name.

"I hope you don't get us into trouble!" she added smiling up at him.
Oh, man. Was she also going to call him Mr. Head Boy like Alyssa planned to? He'd take away his badge if they started doing so. "Just call me Treyen." He liked his name more than Mr. Head Boy.
"Glad to meet you, Sophie." Perhaps Adeline could learn a few things from these girls.
Heh. That was funny. He actually chuckled at her words. "I'm hoping the same about you." If they don't get in trouble, then he won't get them in trouble either. And he wasn't one to get in trouble to begin with...so, everything was okay.

Yup. Last term. Who knew if it was happening again, though. "Yes, I used to make sandwiches in there with Conan." Granted, one particular house elf didn't like seeing Conan holding a knife, but that was beside the point. "I don't know, I think you'll have to check that with the Headmaster...or Professor Hadley."
Frankly, Treyen had no idea what had happened to the baby elf nor where it was kept...nor how the thing came alive...but he had no answers for this.

There was a kind of bittersweet feeling in the fact that this was her last Start of Term Feast at Hogwarts. Amelia was rather enjoying eating food even though she had somehow lost her boyfriend in the process; maybe he was off with his friend, Chandler or something.
Meh. She started picking at the food on her plate now. She was getting full.

"Cool. It's a deal,"Alyssa smiled when she heard Oakey take her dare. She didn't tell him that she was prepared to lose the dare especially since she hadn't mentioned what the winner would be getting....which was nothing except a big tummy ache.

Sophie said. "Whoa, you really thought you were a squib??" she asked, once again opening her eyes wide. "That must have been terrible!"

Sophie looked at the loud boy who was talking to Alyssa. "These people could not be more interesting, really!" she thought to herself, still smiling. Serisouly, Sophie was smiling ever since she got in the Great Hall (or even before that!). And nope, her face was not hurting yet.
She could see she was not going to have to make big efforts to have fun at Hogwarts.

Meh. She started picking at the food on her plate now. She was getting full.
Amelia had been wandering around the hall after eating, attempting to take everything in since it was her first time in the Great Hall. It was during her wandering that she headed over to the Hufflepuff table and spotted Amelia seemingly sitting alone, and so decided to join the older girl.
"Is this seat taken?" she asked Amelia upon reaching her side. Because even though she'd now conversed with the other girl a few times just sitting down would be rude. Especially since she wasn't a Hufflepuff, and therefore couldn't even assert that she had a right to sit down wherever she wanted at the table.

Amethyst slowly walked into the Great Hall, smiling. She felt great, seeming to be put at great ease. She was not at all in a great rush to get to the Hufflepuff table so she scanned the room, humming to herself. Her eyes were. Completely brown again, and she was very calm, no anxiety. She looked up at the ceiling. Oh that famous ceiling. After making her rounds, she finally took a deep breath and went to sit with her friends. She took her rightful place next to Justin. Though they were no longer together, she'd still be his supportive best friend. "Hello, everyone!" She smiled waving at all the people she knew.

Oakey quickly composed his face. and then starred intensely at the empty Hufflepuff table. He saw Alyssa smile, she must have an alliterative motive Oakey thought to himself That didn't matter to him though he did not want to wait, he had just accepted a challenge and he wanted to see it through.
"Well uh... nice to meet you... officially, I guess!" Sophie said laughing again. She was starting to forget about the fact she was hungry. She was enjoying everything and everybody so much that she could go to bed without eating.
"Uh yeah, you too!" Glenn laughed and with mock politeness she added, "Nice to meet you madam, I hope you enjoy your time here at Hogwarts," She added a goofy grin and bow for measure.

A thought crossed her mind. A head boy was talking to her. She decided to push the thought away and not fangirl like she might have in her first-year.
"I was joking, just so you know. I don't want to be told off by a Head Boy before I even go to my first class of the year," Glenn joked.

Glenn had another fit of giggles. She was almost sure that older students were looking at them funny, "Of course, of course. Madam, do you suppose that there shall be any tea at this marvellous feast?" She also put on a heavy English accent, mimicking sipping a cup of tea.

Daisy half walked, half ran into the great hall, she was finally back at Hogwarts! Sure, she wasn't hugely keen about the lessons; after six weeks off, her brain was getting nice and used to not having to make any decisions harder than what cereal to eat, but seeing her friends, and the food, and Quidditch made it worthwhile. Especially Quidditch.
Looking round and deciding there was nobody she knew too well, Daisy slipped into an empty seat - hopefully some friends would join her there - and started loading food on to her plate, whipping out her ketchup bottle and coating the food in it...

"Eh all of my family was ravenclaw. But I am kind of happy that I am different from them." Nate said looking glum at first but then at the end said with a smile.
Taylor watched her cousin get sorted into Hufflepuff so she walked over to their table and came up behind him, "Congrats on getting into Hufflepuff, cuz!" She smiled and hugged him.
When Amelia looked up and saw Amelia asking if she could join her, she grinned and patted the seat. "Of course you can. And you don't have to ask." Even though the girl was obviously in Slytherin, she was allowed at the table. And Mia liked her as well. :3
"So are you enjoying the feast so far?"
"Thanks," Amelia said before taking a seat next to the Hufflepuff. It was nice that the girl said she didn't need to ask. It made her feel like she'd actually made a friend besides Isaac, as had the hug on the train.
"The feast is okay, I just don't really like the amount of people all squeezed into one room. And Isaac and I were discussing earlier how it was strange being one of the older students but not knowing all that many people," Amelia replied, before reaching over to pour herself some Pumpkin Juice. They wouldn't begrudge her that right?
Same old, same old. Nothing much about Hogwarts had changed from the last year. The only change was some of the people, seeing as there was new firstbies and excitingly so new staff. Nessie sort of missed Hogwarts over the summer, and she couldn't help but put a small smile on her face. Even though she got homesick pretty easily she still loved the place.
Plonking herself down, Nessie took a seat at the Hufflepuff table. She was starving and the first thing she wanted to do was eat, but when she looked properly at the table she realized that there wasn't any food yet. Meh..she'd have to wait. Her stomach grumbled and she imidiately started blushing. It was so embarrassing, she didn't need the whole world to know how hungry she was. Trying to ignore it, she looked around the table to see who was already seated.
Most of her friends were there, but she was too lazy to get up and walk to them. After she had eaten she'd greet them all properly and have a proper conversation. Now all she wanted was for the food to apear but clearly it wasn't, so instead she watched as one by one each new comer was sorted. She sort of crossed her fingers as she watched hoping that the little boy she had met on the train was not in Hufflepuff. He was too much of a nuisance.
Hm. She didn't want to be negative, but Arya couldn't help think that for a Hufflepuff firstie, who should be excited about this, she was being a bit cynical. It was possible she was starting to understand Treyen's reasoning for saying what'd he'd been saying.
But Arya wasn't gonna give up hope just yet. "You don't and you never will. Kinda like you never know if you'll be a good student here or not." Or if you'd not die. "You'll just have to have faith and hope, and work, for the best." Because that's what Puffs did.
"I'm starting to get that." She admitted in a low tone. Was she really that disheartened about being a Puff? The girl must not know about all the awesome that came from their house. "I think... we'll just have to show her." Their qualities of course. Arya grinned and glanced at her best friend. "Like we show all the students every year." The young woman was also starting to get that he was serious as well, but certainly he could do this.
They did it every year!
As soon as Messer put the hat back down at the stool, he walked towards the Hufflepuff table with a stupid grin in his face. He can't believe that he actually sorted into Hufflepuff. If his mother still alive she must be really proud of him and his father. Well, he didn't really care what his father thinks.
The first thing he noticed when he arrived at his house table is the amount of students who already there. He spotted Arya immediately. "Arya! Look. Look. I'm a Huffie." he exclaimed happily.

"Hello. I'm Messer. One of the Hufflepuff new recruits." he grinned and holding out his hand.

She hoped to mak it easier for the newer students this year.
"Hi Justin. Glad to see that you found us. Sure grab a seat" Alyssa smile at Justin.
Alyssa laughed when she saw Treyen performing his headboy duties. 'If he doesn't slow down, he's going to be burned out from shaking hands and saying Hi even before Headmaster makes his speech. But he's good HeadBoy,' Alyssa thought to herself smiling proudly at her Quidditch team mate.
"Keefer!! It definitely is good to be back, " Alyssa said reaching over to hug her Quidditch team mate. Then she noticed his badge. "Whoa! You're our Quidditch Captain? YES!! Reporting for duty El Capitan." Alyssa mocked saluted him.

Alyssa looked at the first year who seemed to be shocked that she had been sorted into their House. "Oh dear, just from your facial expression, I can tell that you expected to be sorted into another house. But don't be unhappy. The Sorting Hat is never wrong. You will soon learn to love this house as much as we do."Alyssa comforted the girl. "My name is Alyssa. If you need help in anyway, you can always ask me, okay?"
Laura walked past the hufflepuff table, looking for familiar faces. As she saw Alyssa, she stopped and said 'Hiya Lyssie..'

Firstie byt firstie, they all came and sat down at their house tables. Most of them were too adorable, but Nessie knew how much trouble these firstbies could cause and she was very carefull around them. Just to be safe..you know. It was when she heard a young sort of voice that she turned around to see a little young boy that had taken a seat next to her before she couldn't even answer his question. She didn't mind that he was sitting there as long as he wouldn't cause any trouble. "Nope, not at all." she said putting a grin on her face, trying to make the new Huffie feel welcome.
Her stomach rumbled again as she looked at her empty plate. Merlin was the food ever coming. Nessie wasnt a very patient person, and she wanted her food now she didn't feel like waiting. When the little boy spoke again she turned to face him. Messer? What a name? Nessie thought it was pretty facinating, but she didn't understand it. Did he like mess things up? Meh whatever it was, she thought the name was nice. She snorted, Hufflepuff recruits..that was just too cute. "Nice to meet you." she said moving her arm forward so the two could shake hands, he wouldn't spit on it or anything would he? She hoped not. "I'm Renesmee, but most people call me Nessie or Ness." she gave him a small nod and then another small smile.

Renesmee? That's quite long but he like the sounds of it. "Nice to meet you, Nessie." he shook her hand. and nope he's not gonna spit on it"What year are you in?" he asked. Minerva saw a first year that looked nervous she tried to push her own anxiety away and smiled at him. "Hello my name is Minerva. Welcome to the puff family."
Minerva looked around "I don't know where they are. I guess they will be here soon." Minerva noticed Alyssa had more friends around her so she decided to just sit quietly hoping to control her anxiety with so many people around.
Minerva smiled at Justin remembering the letter she got from Ame. "Hey Justin" she leaned closer to him. 'Umm Justin I think you and I need to talk alone as soon as the feast is over." she felt the panic coming up into her and looked around for her bag. Oh no her bag was with the rest of her stuff.
Minerva's anxiety was hitting the max when she heard a calming voice. "Hey Harvs."
Minerva saw a girl looking nervous. "Hello my name is Minerva welcome to the Puff family."
"Thanks." Nate said with a smile.

Oscar sat down at the Hufflepuff table, slightly worried about what his dad would say. He knew his dad had been a Slytherin, as had most of his family that had attended Hogwarts. But now Oscar was a Hufflepuff?!
He huffed and sat down, not noticing next to whom he had sat, he could hardly lie about what house he had been put in to, could he? But dad would be more than just disappointed.
Perhaps he should just write his mother, she had no idea about Hogwarts houses anyhow, so she'd be JUST FINE with it.
He then looked up and saw a lot of students he didn't know. Oscar smiled carefully, 'hi everyone.. I'm Oscar.'
