He paused. She was serious? Maybe he'd better lock the door to the dormitory at night.. "Oh. Well, good luck with your quest, then!"

Mental note: move to Africa upon Elliot's graduation.

Marius...sounded familiar, for sure. Elliot was glad that he was at least a pureblood.

She bowed politely as he wished her luck, and grinned. "Why thank you, sir. And I will remember you, when I become world ruler, and spare you from any...harsh punishments I throw upon the world," she replied smoothly with an evil little grin. The little 'claw chuckled, and thought she should probably tell him why she came over...so he wouldn't be creeped out.

"Okay, so the real reason why I came over here, sir, was because I was dared by a foolish friend of mine to do so. So there. Count yourself lucky..." she said confidently, crossing her arms across her chest as she waited for his...reaction.

If that didn't make Hufflepuff the best she didn't know what would. But Hufflepuff was already the best. So Sammy had no idea what this girl's problem was. But she wasn't about to be rude and go all crazy like she did to Amy when she revealed she was going out with someone who wasn't Everett "Nice to meet you too Adeline" she said happily. Before adding "You did hear me say 'right next to the kitchen' right?" she asked, because someone who wasn't excited by that was like Katie and that made them weird. Then again Sammy liked weird people, they were so much more interesting than that of normal people.

Sophie overheard the girls' conversation while looking around and laughed softly, without anyone noticing. "What an amusing girl!" She thought when Sammy asked her question. "I like her!"

Jessie's stomach growled quite loudly and she looked around quickly to see if anybody had heard it. She was starving and hoped the Headmaster would make his speech soon so the feast could begin!

"Oh, I'm also a first year!!" Sophie said looking back at Jessie. "And yeah, I'm starving too!" she added laughing kindly.

Sophie was kind of surprised when the girl suddenly spoke to her. "Yeah, I'm a first year!" she said with a wide smile, shaking Glenn's hand. She wasn't really trying to hide her excitement, after all. "Thank you! I really appreciate it!"

He didn't have any second year memories since he spent so long training at controlling his bad luck. He reached out and gave her a firm and friendly handshake.

Adeline let out a little giggle and a smile. "I'll try." she smiled. "Nice to meet you Oakey Richard Gunter." Adeline looked at him. "Adeline Daisy Holiday." she told him shaking his hand.

'Shy Jessie' must have left the building the second Quidditch was brought up. She was amazed at her lack of shyness, especially with a sixth year.

Alright, more people to try out!

"Well, I'm not sure yet. It depends on how many people return from last year's team. We did lose a superb Seeker in Kita Lewis. And our Keeper may decide not to play. Any of that sound to your liking?"

Well, he certainly wouldn't be getting any punishments if he was in Africa as he planned to do as soon as this girl graduated. "Why thank you, kind lady. Your benevolence shall not lay forgotten." Hey, if she was going to play it up, so could he.

Aha! I knew there was something. And better yet, it's not romantic interest! He knew too many people that ended up with small tag-alongs they couldn't get rid of. "Ah yeah, that'll do it. Well, congrats on being brave enough to follow through. Hopefully I didn't make it too painful for you." Count himself lucky? That was somewhat... arrogant. One of the common downfalls of Ravenclaws, unfortunately. "And I consider it an honor to have met you, future Empress Elliot." He made a slight bow in his seat.

Pem was seated near the middle of the Hufflepuff table, nervous about being in a place where there were so many people at once, she was bound to have to talk to someone. She took the time that she had though, before someone interrupted her thoughtful silence among the loud and bustling Hall to attempt conversation with her, to look around the Hall and see it's beauty was just as amazing as her father had told her.

I can't wait to go for a walk. Pem thought as she poured a glass of pumpkin juice for herself. I might get lost though...but who really cares? It's Hogwarts. She continued to think as she took a drink of the juice. She made a face at the taste of it, she had clearly forgotten her father's warning about the juice, and the fact that she hated pumpkins to begin with. Pem sat her glass down on the table and stared at it as if it was going to suddenly turn into orange juice.

She'd come in after many of the other students and skipped over to her friend, taking a seat at his side. The surrounding students got curious glances and distracted greetings. Why was their Head Boy telling people they didn't belong in their house?!?

ARYA! Finally!

Not that he needed her now anyway. He was gaining control of this, yes? Nothing was better that agreeing with whatever the first year was saying.

"She doesn't." The Head Boy gestured to the nameless girl in an accusing tone. And while they were at it...he could point a few others, yes? So very Hufflepuff of him. Not that he saw others at the moment.

He kind of wanted to say that they were stuck with the girl anyway, but that would be too mean...

"Of course." He shrugged, as if everyone knew about said fact. See? A true Hufflepuff would've asked the Sorting Hat. One more reason for her not being one.

Really? So now she wanted to be one? Good thing she wasn't. "Aren't you happy I said you weren't one, then?" Girls were confusing, he knew this, he just didn't know that the confusion began so early in their years. His face denoted no confusion, though. He was forever sure that she was sorted into the wrong house. "For one, Hufflepuffs don't go around complaining of the Sorting Hat's decisions." That was the most important one.

"Also, everyone is trying to make you feel welcome. And you're not letting them." Not Hufflepuff of her. "I hardly see the point in making you feel welcome if the same attitude remains." Just a waste of time, honestly.

Oh, so her name was Adeline! "Adeline." He said, with one nod. "I'm Treyen Lockhart. Hufflepuff, as you can see...and also Head Boy." The badge was there, so that was also obvious.

TREYEN! And for anyone else who wants to playyyy :D

Ahh, the good ole Hufflepuff table. Alex really had missed it over the holiday--he wasn't sure WHY exactly, since it wasn't exactly comfortable to sit at and he didn't have any super fond memories of the feasts or anything, but nonetheless it was comforting to see a piece of his home away from home. He smiled happily to himself as he took a seat with the rest of his housemates. He noticed that he was just a seat or two away from Treyen and he smiled at the older boy.

"Hey Treyen...WHOA?! Head Boy?!" he exclaimed suddenly when he realized that he had a BIG AND SHINY new BADGE on his robes. "Congrats mate!" he added with a grin. WOOOT! A Head Boy who was a Huffie! That was SURE to be a sign of a good year to come, yes?

Seeing that Treyen was already talking to a few people and not wanting to interrupt completely, he happily started to look around at all the new faces. Hopefully they got a really good bunch this year, he was really hoping they could get at least ONE of the cups this term...his eyes drifted over the other tables and landed at the Slytherin table. He sat up straighter and tried to see if he could find Sierra amongst the chaos and give her a wave...

MysteriesOfFate 01-02-2012 04:01 AM

Carigan Strolled into the great hall and her jaw dropped in amazement. The place looked absolutely beautiful. After having left Daichi on the train, and her raven Hamlet had been taken to be sent to her dormitory after being sorted. She was incredibly nervous to sit under the sorting hat. The hat was placed onto her head and it sat there for at least five minutes before finally calling out HUFFLEPUFF! Carigan smiled, she knew it in her heart that she was going to be sorted into either hufflepuff or Ravenclaw like her mother. She hopped off of the stool and ran over to join the other Hufflepuffs at the table.

Carigan slid onto the bench in the closest opening with the students all sitting around her chattering she wondered if anyone would even notice her. While sitting down nobody could tell that she was, in fact, fur inches taller than the average first year. Her red hair was completely down and hung off the back of the bench a few inches. She was very excited for the term to start, she didn't know what the year had in store for her.

That confused Sammy. How could someone not be used eating much? Sammy was like a human vacuum when it came to food. Wait. Lunch taken away from her? THAT WAS THE SADDEST STORY SHE HAD EVER HEARD! "Why didn't you take it back?" Sammy asked, because it was weird to her because if you even breathed on her food she'd be ready to form an army and attack. Narnian style. Amy would be second in command.

Oakey was pleased to have gotten a laugh and a smile out of her. Nice to meet you too, Adeline Daisy Holiday. He released her hand and continued. You know, when I was up there with the sorting hat on my head, I thought I would be a Gryffindor, but I'm sure now that it placed me in the right house. I love Hufflepuff, and I know you'll warm up to it in time as well.

Honestly, he was being so un-Hufflepuff right now by not welcoming her the proper way, but he was also proving a very good point that kept her from giving him looks for trying to scare away the little girl.

"Don't let Treyen discourage you," She looked to the firstie with a kind expression. "Just because you don't display Puff qualities right now, doesn't mean you won't ever. They tend to show when you least expect them." Though clearly they wouldn't be showing right now. Not with Treyen feeding her belief that she didn't belong.

Was she gonna have to have a TALK with him about this bluntnes of his and how the ickly babies might not get it? Hm.

"The only reason that I wouldn't know that is because I'm a muggleborn." she told him. "I only know about Ravenclaw house and Gryffindor and Slytherin. I never read about Hufflepuff because I couldn't find the right information that I wanted to find." Adeline half smiled.

"Then why are you trying to welcome me here?" she asked him. She knew that people were trying to welcome her but she didn't know what to do because she wasn't used to it. "I'm sorry." she told him as a frown appeared on her face. "I'm not used to being welcomed into anything." she told him.

"Nice to meet you Treyen." she told him sticking her hand out for him to shake.

Arya looked at Treyen, then the girl, and rolled her eyes at the explanations he gave her as to why she didn't belong.

Hm.

Adeline looked at the new girl that popped up out of no where. "But how do I know when they will show?" she asked the girl. "I don't want to be so negative about this house but I can't help it when I feel like I don't fit in at all." Adeline frowned.

She looked at him. "I think I'm not into being in Hufflepuff because people are welcoming me and I'm not used to people being so friendly to me. I've never had it happen before." Adeline somewhat smiled.

Adeline sighed. "If I tried to take it back they would try and beat me up and do more damage than before." Adeline frowned. She knew that she would have to try and explain to people about her but she didn't know that it would be this hard.

"Thank you, kind sir," she replied back as she, too, bowed to him. "No, you didn't, so don't worry," she noticed Pem arrive from the corner of her eye, and decided she might as well talk to her since she was already here. And at the next line...Empress Elliot. She liked it. She smiled at him. "I like that name. I may start to introduce myself as that..." she commented aloud, tapping her finger to her cheek...

Ahem. Anyways, she bowed again. "it was nice speaking with you, but I will have to excuse myself. But don't forget my name, Mister Keefer, for one day, the whole world will know it!" she told him gleefully, her blue eyes sparkling a little evilly.

She turned to face the girl, and smiled.
"Pem! Do you remember me? We met...at the Fortescues?" she asked, staring at the girl in the eyes. "Elliot? I'm...Elliot?" she said slowly, as if the girl were stupid or something, but Elliot didn't think anything of the sort.

Pem was still giving the pumpkin juice the stare down when a familiar voice reached Pem's ears. RUN! Pem immediately thought, if only she could. Letting the pumpkin juice go free for the moment being, Pem turned in her seat to face Elliot. "Hello Elliot." Pem greeted with a small smile, she nodded her head in slight annoyance when Elliot was speaking her name to Pem like she was a small child getting in trouble.

Just stay calm; have a small chat and then excuse yourself to go find someone you "know". Pem told herself, a plan unraveling in her head. She hoped that this encounter with Elliot would be pain free and she could escape with minimal annoyance.

Jessie's stomach rumbled again. If this feast didn't hurry up and start, she might try out on of her famous Uncles Fred's and George's skiving snack boxes to sneak away and find the food!! But instead, she just said, "Oh. Well hopefully it starts soon!"

Jessie smiled when she saw the girl sit down. She wouldn't be the only redheaded Hufflepuff!! Out of her excitement (and probably the need for food), Jessie once again surprised herself by starting another conversation with a stranger. "Oh hello! I'm glad I'm not the only ginger! I'm Jessie, Jessie Weasley." She smiled at the newest addition to the Puff family.
