The glittering night sky is clear and visible through the enchanted ceiling, and the floating candles bedeck the entire hall in a warm golden light. All seems well with the world, aside from the empty plates still waiting for food to appear.

'Oh wow! I'm the first one here,'Alyssa thought to herself. 'Yay, I can actually pick anywhere to sit,' Alyssa smiled to herself, looking around before choosing somewhere nearer to the head of the table. She wanted to be able to see who the new Staff members were.
She sat down, made sure her dress robes were clean and her cap was sitting properly on her head, and waited for the rest of the students and staff to arrive. She was excited to see who the Sorting Hat would pick for her house.
Unlike the train ride, he wasn't going to have much difficulties when it came to favorite one single seat at the feast. No. He'll keep on changing seats throughout the evening, until the food came. He'll probably be with Arya by the time that happens.

Then he noticed one Hufflepuff he managed to find at the train. "Hey, feeling better?" Alyssa already seemed in a better mood, perhaps the ride to Hogwarts helped somehow? Or was it the nice looking ceiling that changed her mood? It kind of did that sometimes. Yet it didn't do anything when Treyen had needed it to a couple terms ago.

Or...was it the sorting?
Since Nate has been sorted into hufflepuff he heads over to the correct table and sits down and says "Hi I'm Nate what is your name?" He just can't believe that he is actually at hogwarts for the very first time. And another thing is all of his family members were ravenclaw but him. Oh well he wanted to be in hufflepuff anyways.

Ah yes, the Hufflepuff table. Oakey missed this very much he looked around for familiar faces. Sadly the table was not completly full just yet. He did see Alyssa though. He put on his best grin and hurried over to sit near her. Alyssa hey, what's up? He said as he plopped down right next to her.

Oooh, there wasn't exactly many people already here was there? Chandler liked that, he didn't want to be near to last and have a lot of people already there so he pretty much wouldn't have a choice in seating. The Great Hall with hardly anyone there was cool but it was beginning to fill with people therefore the Hufflepuff took it as an opportunity to head over to the Hufflepuff table and sit down there. He would just save a couple of seats near him incase any of his friends wanted to sit there with him. :3 "Good day, mate!" He greeted Treyen firstly, putting an arm around him. "And..you know. Good day to everyone else 'ere." Including Alyssa and...a couple of people who he didn't know. Cough.
Now, he had hoped food would be here shortly. He was starving, like always.

Alyssa turned when she saw Treyen. "Hey there Treyen... Oops I mean Mr. Head boy....yes I'm doing better now. Where is everybody? I'm so excited to be back here. I can't wait to see who gets sorted into our house." Alyssa knew that she was babbling but she was feeling hyper. 'Must have been all that chocolate frogs I ate on the train. Plus when did Treyen get to be soooo HOT. Summer has definitely done wonders for him,' Alyssa thought, trying to hide her smile.

"Hi there," Alyssa called back. She had seen the older boy before but never really talked with him until now. "You're Chandler right? We've never met but I seen others talk with you. My name's Alyssa. Nice finally to meet you." Alyssa said waving hello to him.

Reason: Since I had double posted the first portion decided to add a few others in
Nate is very nervous because he started to see people he didn't know who looked a lot older then he did. As a matter of fact it looked like he was the youngest one here being a first year and all.

Justin walked into the hall in his new school robes and plopped his little hat on his head. Walked to the Puff table and down next Alyssa. " Hope ya don't mind I sit next to ya. How is everyone? " he asked his two friends ,trying to be cheerful.Although not hitting it quite right.
"Treyen! Oooops uh I mean Mr. Head Boy, yes I'm feeling lots better now. Thank you for asking. o___O I love your new shiny badge. Where are the rest of the students?" Alyssa smiled at Treyen. She was feeling hyper. It must be the excitement of the fact that she was back in Hogwarts and that soon she would be seeing her other school friends.
Blink.
Yes, Alyssa's mood had improved for real. He...actually had trouble understanding what she was saying thanks to the fact that she was speaking rather fast too.
Oh, and he forgot. He had his badge pinned to his robes now, because it was sort of necessary during feasts, right? He smiled at her, "Treyen is fine. No need to say the 'Head Boy' part, really." His eyes went to his badge as soon as she mentioned it. "Thanks." He liked his old one too.
Er, what rest of the students was she referring to? Because students were being sorted and entering the Great Hall as they speak...
...like...right now...

"It's nice to meet you, Nate." Hopefully, trouble will be away from this one. "I'm Treyen," wasn't he forgetting something? "Welcome to Hufflepuff." Yes! That's what he was forgetting. "Did you have a pleasant train ride?" by this he only meant if the boy got something to eat on the train, because they had to wait for the Headmaster's speech before finally beginning the feast.

His eyes left Nate for a moment, before hearing that voice...and...noticing the arm. "Chandler!" another seventh year! "Where were you on the train?" he asked, after having patted him on the back once. Honestly, he failed to see him over the whole summer AND the train.
Treyen often thought Chandler had found a way to attend Hogwarts that required him to travel at his own time, and stay in other dormitories he had yet to see.

Keefer was one of the first ones into the Great Hall, but not the very first. As the dull roar of hundreds of footsteps erupted in the entrance area, he spotted two Hufflepuffs that beat him, both of which he knew. Harvey entered the Great Hall and looked at the Hufflepuff table where he recognised his friends.. and he looked at the Ravenclaw table.. mm.. he looked back at the Hufflepuff table,... yeah he would rather sit there .. so he made his way to the Hufflepuff table and saw Minnie and smiled.. he sat down next to her. "Hey Sweetie.." he said to Minnie.. before giving her a hug and a kiss on her cheek.. he then turned to his other two friends "Hey Alyssa.. Hey Justin.. good to see you both here.." he greeted his two friends.. he always found it strange that most of his friends were from Hufflepuff but he didnt mind.. they were still friends no matter what house they were in..
As soon as the Sorting Hat shouted "HUFFLEPUFF!", Sophie smiled and felt her heart jumping with excitement. "Mom's house!!" she thought while running to Hufflepuff's table.

"Hey, there! I'm Sophie!!" She said still smiling. She really couldn't be any happier than that. "My mom's house!!" she kept on thinking.

Elliot meandered over to the...ugh, Badger table. She couldn't BELIEVE she was doing this. But she couldn't turn down a dare, could she? So she mustered up ALL of her confidence(which was quite a lot, in fact) and made her way over to the handsome sixth year she had been dared to talk to. She wanted to hit her head against a post or something, but she didn't.
She stopped right in front of this guy, the Huffle quidditch captain, and smirked up at him. "Hello. My name is Elliot. Elliot Morganzo. The pleasure is mine," she introduced smoothly, especially for an ickle twelve-year old. She wouldn't tell him it was a dare; no, she would let him think it was her own mere bravery.

Treyen smiled at the sound of Keefer again. The boy already knew how he felt about Quidditch this year, but about the year in general? NEWTs? Last year? Yeah, Keefer had no idea.
"It should be, we have you as Quidditch Captain." Another hint for Alyssa to attend tryouts. She'd been a great player last year. It'll leave Treyen off the hook of Seeking if plenty of people tried out.
It'd also be nice to mention to the new Captain not to mention Quidditch in front of his girlfriend too, but he wasn't going to talk about it right now. Not the place, and certainly not the right time. Maybe later.

"Good to know." Headmaster Tate used to take a long time before making the speech. And whilst he'd decided not to mention the 'don't die' part in them, it was kind of nice not to hear it anymore.
But then the kid fell silent. Not much of a talker, right? "Happy with the Sorting Hat's decision?" he asked, curiously. Perhaps Nate wasn't?

HUFFLEPUFF!
"No I can't be in Hufflepuff! NO!" The first year freaked out. This house wasn't meant for her! No! This was for her. No!
What the heck is a HUFFLEPUFF?!
Adeline looked around at the other Hufflepuff's at the table around her she must've looked like a loon.
"Hufflepuff is not for me I don't even have any friends. How can I be loyal and just?"
O_o
ARYA!
He needed Arya for this. Where was she?
His question to Nate couldn't have had a much better timing, really. The Head Boy blinked repeatedly. How do you deal with an eleven year old that acts...like that? It should be fairly easy, no? He wouldn't know, because Arya was the one left to deal with this ever since he almost made a girl cry a few terms back.
"Er, you okay there?" he asked, tentatively approaching the girl.

Chandler gave Treyen a warm grin, "Treyen! I was with Kaia, like...I always am." He looked at him like he was supposed to know this and he was supposed to know it! But right now he wasn't with her and honestly, it wasn't often that this had happened. Chandler didn't even mind because it was nice to spend some time with other people. "But I wasn't with 'er all ze time zough, I did walk around for a bit on ze train just to zee where my friends were. What about you? Or were you in ze Prefect's compartment all ze time?" Heh, it must be cool to be part of it, especially being Head Boy. Chandler couldn't have thought it was a better decision to have Treyen as the Head Boy this year, he deserved it.
"We, my friend need to zee each other more." Considering this was their last term.

Chandler cocked his head towards someone shouting and complaining that they were in Hufflepuff. Evidently a first year. "'Ufflepuff izn't zat bad." He did his signature frown at her, Hufflepuff was awesome. "And I'll be your friend if you want." He liked making new friends. :3
Treyen smiled at the sound of Keefer again. The boy already knew how he felt about Quidditch this year, but about the year in general? NEWTs? Last year? Yeah, Keefer had no idea.

"Eh all of my family was ravenclaw. But I am kind of happy that I am different from them." Nate said looking glum at first but then at the end said with a smile.
Jessie walked up to the Hufflepuff table, feeling quite intimidated at all of the older students miling around with their friends. Jessie hadn't made any new friends yet, besides her owl who still didn't have a name. But she could name him after the feast. Jessie noticed the only other Puff who looked like a first year and sat next to him. "Hello," she said shyly. "I'm Jessie Weasley. What's your name?"
Sophie was glad to see that there were some more younger people around. She was excited about her new house, but wouldn't dare to start talking to older students. She knew better, since she went to a regular muggle school before going to Hogwarts.
"Hello! I'm Sophie! How do you like our new house??" she said looking at both Nate and Jessie. She could see the boy wasn't really pleased and didn't know what to think about the shy girl that had just sat down.

Sammy nearly jumped out of her seat when the firstie sitting quite near her started freaking out. A) because she was almost beating Sammy in the loudest Hufflepuff area and B) She was freaking out. SO Sammy being a seriously Hufflepuff person and having a love of food decided to help the poor girl. "Hufflepuff is the best house ever!" she said happily. "It's basically the one house where everyone, and I mean EVERYONE, is friendly. It's kinda weird sometimes but it's nice all the same" she continued not even caring if the girl thought she was weird or not. That was the second best thing about being a Hufflepuff "And plus our common room is right next to the kitchen. It's awesome." she said looking around ever so slightly. WHY WAS THERE NO FOOD. "You don't have to be anything to be a Puff. You'll find some friends soon enough if you're not rude." she continued, it wasn't every day she got to talk about her house so much.
Then she got an idea. "You know what, since you've got no friends in the amazing house of yellow I'll be your first" she said, very proud of her genius idea. Then extending her hand to the small girl "I'm Sammy Star, sixth year"

Glenn sat down at the Hufflepuff house table and watched the sorting. It seemed more than one year since she had been standing up there herself. She tucked a strand of curly blond hair behind her ear and smiled at the new as well as old members of Hufflepuff house.
"Hey everyone!" She said in a carrying whisper to the people sitting near herself, "How was your holiday? How are ya newbies?" She smiled warmly at a dozen of first-years at the table.
Her own holiday had been quite dull, she had been stuck with her older brother for weeks, nothing much to do but explore the forest by her house.
