Glenn ran into the second year dormitory and fell down on her bed, ripping the curtains closed. She was really confused about her feelings with her mum being pregnant. She was happy for her, yes. But she had a feeling that her mother was hoping this one would be a squib, or at least a child not as into magic as Glenn was. Her mother got incredibly annoyed when Glenn would sneak into her father's office to watch him perform magic, play wizard chess or fiddle around with the numerous magical nick-nacks that she kept in the office away from her mother. Her mother was fine when they were doing muggle things like watching television, but magic. No.

She buried her head in her pink pillow. It smelled faintly of Butterbeer, her shampoo scent. Glenn breathed it in and calmed her thoughts. She needed to write back to her mother and Thomas as well.

Alyssa came up to the Girl's dormitory after a long but fun day at the barnyard. She felt Nerfball moving around in her jacket pocket, so she pulled him/her out. "Hi there little one. Are you warm and snuggly in there? You want out right? Well I'll let you come out but please don't make a mess of this room okay. My room mates would kill me. But first House Rules: 1) No pooping in anyone's shoes. 2) No sticking your tongue up anyone's nose. No not even mine. I'll give you boogers my way only. 3)You will squeak when you want to go poop or pee 4) Let's have fun, shall we?"Alyssa smiled down at the cute Pymgy Puff, whose eyes barely could be seen among its long hairy fur.

"Let's get you cleaned up first. You did have a fun time rolling on the ground earlier didn't you? Well you're all dusty and a little muddy right now. So let's get that off first."Alyssa told it.

She quickly walked over to the wash basin and took out her wand and said "Aguamenti" filling it up with water and "Finite" when it was half full. She then carried it over and placed it on the floor. Alyssa picked up Nerfball who seemed to know that water was around and was trying to roll out of the way. "No way Jose, dude. You need to get clean."Alyssa whispered to him/her before picking up a rag and dipping it in the water before scrubbing off the mud from Nerfball's face. He/she sure didn't like being cleaned because it started squeeking... in a low pitch."SQqqqueeekkk...sssssquuueeeekkk..."[sound of low squeek]

"Wait didn't the Professor say that the females made higher squeeks? Nerfball are you a male? You are bright reddish orangy in color which is definitely bright. What else are traits of male Pygmy Puffs?" Alyssa tried to remember. "Oh yeah low hum and shorter tongue too. Now the only way I can tell that is if I put him next to a "confirmed" female Pygmy Puff. I must ask Nessie whether she'll let Nerfball play with hers. I know her Puffles is female."

"Okay now that I've got your face cleaned, now for the rest of your body." As Alyssa leaned down to grab to dip it into the wash bowl again, Nerfball struggled and fell...into the washbowl full of water!!."SQueeeeee....squeeeee"... "NERFBALL!!" Alyssa quickly reached in and grabbed her wet Pygmy Puff out. The poor thing looked like a wet cat...and does it change it's colors whenever it likes?? Alyssa quickly grabbed a towel and started scrubbing him dry. "I'm so so sorry, Nerfball. Hey at least you're all clean now. Ooops...sorry I know that wasn't funny at all." Alyssa continued to rub her Pygmy Puff dry until she started hearing a low humming sound.

She leaned down closer to Nerfball and the humming sound was coming from it. "LOW HUMMING SOUND. You are a male Pygmy Puff, Nerfball. And you like me rubbing your tummy don't you?" So Alyssa continued to rub his tummy and before she knew it, Nerfball's eyes were closed and it was fast asleep.

"Oh you poor thing. You're all tired out. Let me make a bed for you and let you get some rest." So Alyssa slowly let him sleep on the ground in snuggled in between the towels while she rushed over and emptied one of her dresser drawers. She put some soft rags and used clean socks in it making nice and cosy, before going back to the towel, slowly picking up Nerfball and laying him among them. Then she slowly slid the drawer shut leaving about a 1/4 inch of space open so that he wouldn't suffocate in there
and started cleaning up the room.

Carigan Walked into the common room, clutching her books to her chest.She put them down on her bed then flopped herself down next to them. Her long red hair spread out above her head and hung off the side of the bed. She sighed. Where were her friends? She was sad, she missed her sister. Her sister hadn't written to her all year. Did her sister even miss her? How could her twin sister not miss her. This just wasn't right.

Just then her raven, Hamlet, flew down from his perch on the bed post and rubbed his head on her cheek.

"I don't know Hamlet. Maybe I shouldn't have come to Hogwarts." She said with a sigh. "I haven't talked to my friends in such a long time and I miss mother and father and Reagan." She rolled over onto her side, her lips in a natural pout, and breathed deeply.

Carigan sighed and rolled onto her back. Her incredibly long hair was far too long to deal with at the moment so she began the long process of twisting it then twirling it into a bun and used a scrunchie to keep it up.

Getting up from the bed she went to her trunk and produced a stunning hardcover copy of Jane Eyre which was black with silver decor and beautiful scrawling text on the cover. This copy belonged to her mother and she had taken it for her first year at Hogwarts.

Pulling out her illows from her bed she laid them near the foot of it and used them to prop her up under her chest. She laid the book out on the bed and pulled out the ribbon mark and opened to the first page.

"Jane Eyre, Chapter 1. There was no possibility of taking walk that day..." She began, reading out loud, but only to herself. She read along, giving each character their own voice.

Laura walked into the first year door and chucked her bags on her bed, she was totally annoyed with her twin sister seriously why was her sister acting so mean, she hadn't seen the other girl in the room when she chucked the bags and so she decided that she had better appologise for her watching her throw things. "I'm sorry about that." Laura sighed as she sat down on her bed.

Carigan looked up from her book and saw one of her friends. "LAURA!" she yelled excited. "What's wrong?" SHe asked.

Laura sat up and looked at Carigan. "My sister and I just had a fight about something weird, I don't really understand why we were fighting." Laura sighed as she took her pillow and throw it and Carigan. "Anyway onto something else, where have you been?"

"Oh that's sad. I miss my sister but I doubt she misses me. She went to a school in Romania instead of Hogwarts." Carigan said with a note of sadness in her voice. "I haven't been doing much. I was in the hospital wing for a burn and going to class but that's about all I have been doing."

Laura just realised that she didn't have another pillow. "Can you throw my pillow back to me." Laura sighed. "I miss my sister too, well she's in Ravenclaw so I don't get to see her much anyway, hopefully we can make up." Laura smiled.

Carigan sat up and closed her book, then threw Laura's pillow back to her. "I see... I hope you can make up too. Funny though. Reagan, my twin sister, hasn't sent me even one letter all year. Not even one. I bet she doesn't even care about me anymore." She said rolling onto her back and looking at Laura upside down.

Laura looked at Carigan and then put her pillow back where it was suppost to be then decided to put her head over her bed so she was facing upside down. "I think we should have a play circus in her soon." Laura giggled. "But anyway I'm sure that your sister is just busy and will speak to you over the summer holiday." Laura smiled.

Carigan giggled. "Yeah I bet she will..." She said before rolling over and reaching under her bed and pulling out a photo album. She opened it and pointed to a picture.



"This is me and her when we visited our grandparents in Toronto, Canada." She said smiling. "She has bigger eyes than me... but I'm taller. Born ten minutes apart, but we're incredibly different her an I." She said. "You know... I bet she would have been in Ravenclaw."

Laura sat up straight and looked at the picture. "You both look so cool, I'm sure she is missing you just as much as you are missing her." Laura then went under her bed and took out a book with pictures of her and her sister in, she pointed to one that was taken in the summer. "This was taken in Diagon Alley."



She then looked at Carigan and smiled and wondered what she should do next.

"Awww so sweet. I bet you two will work it out... me and my sister fight but we always make up."

Laura looked at Carigan and smiled. "I'm sure we will, well I hope we will." Laura then took her pillow and hit Carigan on the head with it before giggling. "That's because I felt like it." Laura hoped that Carigan didn't mind being hit on the head, she was just playing.

Carigans quealed in shock and then pcked up her own pillow and hit Laura with it, giggling.

Laura smiled at Carigan and then put her pillow down and decided to walk on her hands, she then realised something. "I wonder a Professor would say if I walked into a class like this." Laura giggled. "Come on you should have a go it's fun."

Carigan giggled. "I don't know if I can!" She said, trying to get onto her hands but it resulted in a form of one like sticking up and the other donkey kicking in the air until finally she just ended up doing a flip onto her butt. She giggled as she rubbed her butt.

Laura smiled at Carigan, "You can do it, I know you can." Laura flipped back the right way and then did it slowly so Carigan could watch how she did it. "Now it's your turn, I might try and go downstairs like this it could be funny." Laura giggled.

*SQUEAK SQUEAK SQUEAK*

Pixie was going crazy rolling around in Amelia's hand. It was rather scary, because it made the Hufflepuff girl scared that her Puff would roll out of her hands and onto the floor.

"What's gotten into you, Pixie?" she asked her Puff as soothingly as possible as she reached her bed and sat down on it. "Please stop fussing."

*SQUEAAAAK SQUEAK SQQQQQUEEEAK*

Of course she wouldn't listen to her when she asked it to do something; Pixie was agitated and needed Amelia to calm her down. It might have been the lesson that got her like this. Pixie seemed to not really like being bowled across the floor and made to knock down pins. She had to make sure not to let that happen ever again.

As it was, she started to stroke her Puff affectionately while humming a song to her. Was it even a her? "It's alright, Pixie. I'll get you calmed down and then I'll brush your fur out so that you look all nice and clean." She'd also try to give her Puff something to eat -- hopefully not snot, as that would be very disgusting. :/

Noticing that the humming and petting seemed to calm Pixie down, Amelia got up from her bed and got a comb. "You're gonna look your pretty self in a few moments," she told her. She started to gently brush out the fur, making sure to get out all of the dirt and other bits of stuff.

After a few minutes, she was done. "That wasn't so bad was it, Pixie?"

*squeak squeak*

Alyssa jumped onto her bed, placing Nerfball on the pillow next to her. Then she took out the music sheet and the pan flute which she had borrowed from Magical Musical Theory class today. She couldn't wait to try out the spells that she had learned. She stood up making sure that Nerfball sat where he was and placed the music sheet to the left of her and the pan flute to the right of her on the bed.

Taking out her wand she first studied the music sheet. She always loved Ave Maria. It may be a very old tune but it was still lovely to hear. Alyssa hoped that her magic spell would do the music justice. She studied the musical notes as they flowed through the music sheet. Alyssa concentrated on the melody and remembering how the tune sounded. Once she felt like she could actually hear the melody playing in her head, she turned and concentrated on the pan flute and what she wanted it to do. "Play that beautiful music for me please" Alyssa whispered to it.

She concentrated on both the music on the music sheet, the pan flute and on the spells itself. Then she pointed her wand at the music sheet and said "LUDO TOTALUM". She then immediately turned to the right and drew a circle over the pan flute and said "LUDO SOLUS". Immediately the pan flute began to play the sweetest Ave Maria that Alyssa had ever heard. She smiled and sat down next to the bed and listened and sang along with it. "Ave Maria, Gratia Plena, Maria, Gratia Plena, Maria, Gratia Plena..."

After awhile noticed that Nerfball was getting restless, so she ended the spell by saying "Finite" and the pan flute stopped playing.

Ella entered the dormitory with Barnabus seated happily on her shoulder. He was a little dirty after their food tasting and he smelled like pickle juice. After deciding that was a smell she didn't want to live with, Ella decided she had better give Barny a bath. She pulled out her wash bin and placed it on the floor, putting a face cloth down in front of it. She then pulled out her wand. "Aguamenti!" When the bin was filled with water, Ella extinguished the flow and placed Barny now on the cloth. "Alright Barnabus, it's bath time. Now I don't know how you usually clean yourself but this is the best way to get rid of that...smell. Plus, a cleanly puff is a happy puff!" Ella reached out for the little yellow fluff ball and placed him gently in her palm, easing him over to the bin. "Okay, no need to be scared of the water. I'm right here and I won't let you drown or anything Barny. Trust me." Barny's only reply was a small scared Squeakkkk.

Ella placed Barnabus into the water gently, watching as he reacted to it. Squeakkk Squeakkkk Squeakkkk Barny's little body started to shake and Ella lifted him out of the water quickly, scared she was hurting the poor thing. "Barny! Oh it's okay, don't you worry. I won't let anything happen to you. Let's just clean you quickly and then it'll be all done." Ella again placed Barnabus into the water, this time keeping him sitting in the palm of her left hand while she scooped water over his head. He was looking at her with such sad eyes and Ella tried to be quick. "Scrub-a-dub-dub, Barny in the tub." She said, giggling. "Okay last one, Barny." Ella scooped one more handful of water over the poor creature and then lifted him out of the wash bin, noting that he wasn't so cute all wet. She picked up the face cloth and wrapped the little yellow puff in it, massaging his body gently so he would dry off. "See, that wasn't so bad Barny!" When she thought he was all dry, Ella removed the face cloth to look at him. He was much cleaner, there was no doubt about that, but he didn't look happy. "Sorry. It had to be done." She said with finality. Boy, parenting was sure hard...

Carigan's motherly instinct that was instilled by her mother kicked in "But you'll break your neck!" She screeched. Even though her mother hadn't cared much about what Carigan or her sister did but when it came to stairs she was very serious.

Laura looked at Carigan and walked on her hands towards the door to the common room. "I'll go down these stairs if you want me to prove it's safe." Laura giggled seriously it wasn't that dangerous and Laura didn't know what the fuse was about. "What do you think Carigan?"

"Laura! It's not safe! What if you get hurt? Then you'll be in the hospital wing for ages!" Carigan said to her, she wasn't kidding. Carigan worried about her friends, sometimes too much.

Laura looked at Carigan and giggled. "Seriously Carigan it's perfectly safe, I've done it plenty of time at my last school it's fun." Laura laughed, not realising Carigan was being serious. "Come on you know you want to try it." Laura walked on her hands back to Carigan and then looked at the door. "I'll go first if you want." Laura said truthfully.
