Alyssa wearily entered the 3rd Year Girl's Dormitory. It was empty right now but she hoped that it would soon be filled by her friends. Alyssa picked the bed nearest to the window and unpacked her trunk. She placed her clothes in the dresser and her study materials and books on the desk next to her bed. She then looked at the other stuff in her trunk and decided that she was too tired to do the rest, so she closed her trunk, shoved it under her bed and promised herself that she would finish unpacking the next day.

Alyssa lay on her bed and stared at the ceiling. She was tired but sleep wouldn't come. So much had happened ever since she left Hogwarts for home at the end of last term. She thought of the friends that she wouldn't be seeing this term. KITA. That was the first name that came to mind. Alyssa never imagined that her Quidditch Captain would end up being her best friend and confidant. She was definitely going to miss talking with her. Alyssa sighed. After all that had happened over the Summer, she hoped that the new term would be a stress and drama free one. She definitely could not handle any more heart breaks.

Janice dragged her trunk up to the girls dormitory, not remembering that she had become a third year over the summer. Luckily, the Second year's dorm is empty, or else she would be an embarrassment. Janice opened the right door this time and found Lyssie inside.

"Lyssie!" Her trunk and an additional white canvas bag dropped to the ground as she screamed and ran into Alyssa. How she missed her over the summer, having to meet thrice only in Diagon Alley.

After opening the door labeled "Girl's Dormitory," Jessie shortly came to another door labeled "First Years." She smiled. She would get to room with Sophie and Carigan and Ella, and plenty of the other first year girls she had met tonight! She opened the door and stood in awe. If the Common Room was cozy, her dormitory was perfect! The large wooden beds with patchwork quilts looked so warm and inviting! But she had her trunk to unpack. She looked around at the foot of the beds and found her trunk had already been brought in. She set to work unpacking it into the nearest wooden dresser.

Salima walked up with her trunk entering the dorm that said "Third years". Looked around for an empty bed, then once she had found one she placed her trunk in front of the four poster bead and placed her clothes in her wardrobe and books on her desk, but left the monster book in her trunk dare not even trying to leave it on the bedside table.

Sophie went skipping to the first years dormitory and opened the door. She saw Jessie already unpacking her stuff and smiled at her. "Hey there, Jessie! You're fast!" she said while going to reach her own trunk. When she got to it, she changed her mind. She didn't feel like unpacking now. "What's up?" she said going to Jessie's bed and sitting by her new friend.

"Hey, Sophie! I'm just winding down. It's been quite an exciting day, almost missing the Hogwarts Express, getting sorted, meeting new people! So much going on!" She laughed. It had been a good day! And what a better way to end the perfect day than with a new friend? Jessie baby snowy owl hooted at her. "Oh, hey there, boy! I forgot to feed you, didn't I?" Jessie slipped some owl food into his cage before turning back to Sophie. "You know, he still doesn't have a name! I've been wracking my brain since I got him and I can't come up with a good one!" She pouted as the owl in question nibbled her finger.

"Whoa, you almost missed the train??" Sophie asked in surprise. "I didn't know that! I think I would have freaked out if I ever missed it!" she didn't even like thinking about it! The little owl hooted and Sophie looked at him. "Awwww!! How cute!!" she said smiling at the tiny owl. "Well, whenever my mom needs a name for something - or someone - my dad looks through some books until he finds something that pleases her!" Sophie said looking back at Jessie. "Maybe you could find a cool name in some of our new books, or maybe in the library, dunno!"

Laura walked into the first year girls dorm, she had decided she might as well see where she would be sleeping for the next year, she missed home and her own bed, that was private her she would have to share a room with other girls, at least it wouldn't be to bad they could have midnight feast and play games and well just hang out, suddenly she decided the idea wasn't as bad as it first had seemed.

Jessie laughed at Sophie's outburst. "Yeah, I nearly missed the train! We were late getting to King's Cross, and then mom took FOREVER to say good bye! Haha!"

"Oh, is that how you go your name? From a book? I wish my name was that cool. It's just a name." Jessie sighed. "Hey, maybe we could go down to the library! I'm nearly done unpacking!" She hung up her last set of robes, tied her new Hufflepuff scarf around her neck, smirked in the mirror and turned back to Sophie. "I'm ready!" Jessie posed with one hand on her hip and the other thrown up in the air for effect.

"JANICE!!!" Alyssa jumped up from the bed when she saw one of her bestfriends and roomie. She ran over and hugged Janice. "I'm so glad you made it. Even though we saw each other in Diagon Alley, I've missed you still. I'm hoping that Nessie and Penny show up soon too. Are you signed up for Quidditch yet? I think that we may actually have a chance of winning this year." Alyssa grinned at Janice. Finally a familiar face!!

Carigan laughed as she ran into the dormitory and, instantly seeing the bed with her trunk at its foot, jumped into the air and landed onto the bed with a bounce. The quilt untucked itself and Carigan pulled it off of the bed, laid it over her head, and wrapped herself in it. It was snuggly warm and smelled like bread from the kitchens.

Her raven Hamlet flew from the corner of her trunk and landed on top of her head and squawked. Carigan giggled and Hamlet flew from off of her head and back to her trunk.

"Hi Sophie! Hi Jessie!" Carigan squealed in delight as she saw that her two new friends were also in the dormitory room.

"Goodness, I'm glad you made it!" Sophie didn't know if there was another way of getting to Hogwarts if not by train. Probably there were other ways, but she never pondered about it. She laughed at Jessie's pose and stood up. "Do you think the library will be opened at this time, though? And today? I mean, we had just arrived and all." Sophie didn't really know how exactly things at Hogwarts worked.

She turned to the door when it opened and watched Carigan's movements. That girl could be as hyper as Sophie! "I like that!" she thought smiling.
"Hey there, Carigan! We were wondering if the library was open. We want to go down there to look through some books and name Jessie's new owl! Wanna come along?" she asked still looking at the girl.

Sophie saw that Laura had just came in too and turned to face her. "Hey, Laura! We're just about to go to the library to see if it's open! Want to join us?"

Jessie was delighted to now so many of the girls in her dorm. "Hey Carigan! Yeah, why don't you and Laura come along? My new owlet here needs a name, and Sophie suggest we check in some old story books! I'm Jessie, by the way!" She held out her hand to welcome the new girl.

Carigan smiled at the girls. "Yes, let's! That's how I named my raven! His name is Hamlet after one of my favourite plays!" Carigan smiled and Hamlet, hearing his name, flew onto her should and turned his head to get a good look at the whole bunch of rowdy girls.

Laura looked at Sophie and smiled. "I might as well, I have nothing planned." Laura sighed, her sister was somewhere else and she was stuck her, well at least she was making some friends, they would go through school together so she might as well make friends with them now. "Hi Jessie." Laura smiled as she took Jessie's hand and shook it. "I'm Laura Hyde though you already knew I was Laura." she giggled.

Jessie smiled. "Well, let's get the party started," and she headed out to find the library.

"YAY!! Let's all go then!" Sophie said jumping over Jessie's trunk and walking to the door.

Sophie was also out of their dormitory when she stopped. "Hold on. Does any of you know where the library is??"

Laura was following Sophie when Sophie suddenly stopped. "I've heard it's on a floor above." that wasn't much help seeing as they were on the ground floor and there was probably a lot of floor above them.

"Let's go, then!" Sophie ran out laughing. Laura's word didn't make a lot of sense, but yet, she was actually right!

"Thanks!" Janice answered, hugging her back. "Yeah, I did, first thing when I went here. There were heaps of names that are already on the clipboard, and most of them seemed to be good players. I'm so glad Keefer became the new Captain," she grinned."I saw Nessie somewhere, but I think the crowd swallowed her. But not Penny, I haven't seen her for ages, even not in Diagon Alley...."

She chose a bunk next to Alyssa and laid down her trunk and that bag that couldn't fit in her trunk on the floor. I'll unpack my trunk tomorrow, she said to herself. It's late already. Patches found a comfortable spot (right on the middle of the bed), twirled a fair few times on the spot, and dropped asleep.

Carigan walked into the dormitory And flopped onto her bed. It was a long walk from the library to get down here. She stood back up and dug her pyjamas out of her trunk and put them on. She thought it was great fun being able to hang out with her friends all the time for a whole year. It was like a good long sleepover! She smiled, laying on her stomach on her bed. She smiled, and hoped Jessies owlet would like his new name.

Jessie followed Carigan into their dorm and rushed to her owlet's cage. "How do you like the name Reepicheep, little boy," she asked excitedly. He hooted his acceptance, making Jessie beam. "Oh, I knew you would love it! Tomorrow, I'll figure out how to make a little nameplate to go on your cage, my dear Reepicheep!" She nuzzled him under his beak to tell him goodnight before following Carigan's example. She dug her *Hufflepuff* pajamas out of her dresser and quickly changed before flopping on her bed, stomach first. She sighed a happy sigh. This was going to be a good year! New classes, new house, new friends, new adventures! She couldn't wait to see what tomorrow would hold! But first...sleep! Jessie was out before anybody else entered the dorm.

Carigan laughed as Jessie fell asleep so easily. She rolled over and manoeuvred her body until she was under the covers. Sitting up under the covers she pulled all of her hairout from under her and braided it into a single braid that went down her backto her buttocks. She then spun the braid over her head and put a hair net over it so it wouldnt flop about and get tangled in the night. She then laid her head down on the pillow. Hamlet, her raven, flaw up from where he had perched himself on her trunk and landed on the bed. He walked up onto the pillow and laid down beside Carigans head. Carigan gave Hamlets little beak a kiss before she, too, closed her eyes and went off to dreamland.
