Entering the common room through the same corridor as the kitchens the kitchens, you will find a pile of large barrels stacked in the shadowy stone recess to your right. The second barrel from the bottom, middle of the second row, will open when tapped to the enunciation of 'Helga Hufflepuff'. (*Note: non-Hufflepuffs who tap the wrong barrel, or the incorrect number of times, will result in one of the lids bursting off and dousing the trespasser in vinegar)

Following a sloping, earthy passage inside the barrel, which will then travel upwards slightly, a cozy, round, low-ceilinged room comes into view. Welcome! Your common room is like your sanctuary. During your seven years here, your house will be like your family. The room is decorated in the cheerful house colors of yellow and black, enhanced by the use of highly polished honey-colored wood for the tables and then round doors which lead to the boys' and girls' dormitories.

Directly over the wooden mantelpiece, which is covered with carvings of decorative dancing badgers, is a portrait of Helga Hufflepuff, your house founder and one of the four Hogwarts founders, toasting her students with a tiny, two-handled golden cup. There are small, round windows level with the ground at the foot of the castle, showing a pleasant view of grass and flowers, occasionally people. As a result of the low windows, the room has a year-round sunny feel to it.

Especially Isobel.

She bounded back down in no time and stuck something small into her pocket. Before he could ask what, she was asking him to go somewhere. To do something (and obviously avoid certain topics).

He couldn't help but smile down to her, and he kissed her forehead. "Anything for you," he said, giving her cheek a soft kiss, making a mental note to ask her about this again. "Where would you like to go?"

Isobel was glad that Damien knew her so much to know that she wanted their previous conversation to end, and be replaced with something more cheerful. However, she did not like his next question. Isobel did not like making decisions, especially at the moment because she did not know all the new features of Hogwarts. "Somewhere on the grounds," Isobel mused. "But you can choose where; I don't really know all the new places." She did not know why she thought Damien would know them better then her, but she was hoping that he did.

"If you need help with any homework, or class, or anything you know you can always ask me right?" she hoped he did.

Was he..erm laughing? Nessie raised her brow, she didn't say anything funny did she? All she did was ask a question, but nevermind that Messer seemed to be laughing. She pouted and decided to pretend she hadn't heard him. "Edvard?" now she was the one giggling. It was a cuteish name, but if Nessie wasn't mistaken she remembered being told that Professor Roslunds first name was Edvard. "I like it more...mind if I call you Eddie?" Now she was really giggling.

"You're?!" Messer blinked in surprised. "Wow! That's soooooooo cool!" he beamed. And that would be more cool if they both made the team. He hoped both of them make it though. Then his eyes sparkled when Nessie offered to help him practice. "I'd definitely love that. I never have a practice friends before so that would be so awesome." the eleven years old boy told Nessie.

"Yeah, I hope so. But even though they're exhausting, the classes were really fun." You know like he could finally do magic with his new wand. Teehee.. "Thanks, Nessie." He really like this older Huffie, she's really nice and not to mention she loves Quidditch too that make her more cool. "Speaking of classes. What's your favorite subjects?" Messer asked the older girl.

He rolled his eyes when he heard Nessie giggled after he told her his name. His name wasn't that funny. "Its a common name back in North Europe actually" beside Professor Roslunds first name is also Edvard. See its not that funny. "Noooo..! I mind." he said putting his best serious face but he couldn't hold it much longer. "I don't mind. You can call me Eddie if you like." he gave Nessie a smile.

The summer flew in and out of her thoughts so much was jumping around that her head instantly hurt she felt a panic attack come on and then she saw Alyssa she froze again. Harvey and Ame were going to find out about this.. She was a horrible friend all the pain she caused at the beginning of summer came flooding back. "Justin I....we.. I have to go." she hurried up to the girls dorm needing to think about her feelings and about what was going on.

Justin knew he had crossed the line again. Why did he keep doing that. He needed to keep his lips to himself. He watched as Minnie turned and went up to her dorm. He just sat there alone by the fire. ' Man, I really messed things up for everyone. Ame hates me, Minerva's head is spinning. Harvey is gonna flip....Oh, no...Harvey! I have to tell him before someone tells him. ' And witht that justin got up and left the commonroom.

Then the next question came to Oakey as a total surprise! Yeah, Oakey should have been the one to ask her, but Alyssa beat him to the punch. He responded with the same response to her first question Don't be so ridiculous He waited for a moment and left a long pause for dramatic effect.I should've been the one to ask you. So would you do me the honor of going to these as my date?
Oakey smiled a much deserved smile. He felt like himself again.

Oakey smiled a much deserved smile. He felt like himself again.

Alyssa first blushed and then giggled and then smiled. When he didn't answer immediately, she was afraid that he was going to say no, especially now that she would be labelled the 'bad girl' beause she would be going to detention. But when he said yes, she was so happy and excited. She wasn't expecting Oakey to say yes at all, especially since they had only known each other for a short while "Oh you will? Oh I would be so honored to go as your date. I mean I'm not sure whether I will be able to attend the Muggle Studies Etiquette Class or not. I guess it just depends on whether I'm done with detention, so if you want to go with someone else, I won't mind. But if I'm done, I would really love to go with you."Alyssa smiled. At least she had something to look forward to while she was in detention.

Alyssa just smiled at him and was glad that he was her friend.

Justin walked back into the commonroom after talking to Harvey. He went to sit in his favourite chair and His head was realing. " Oh, sorry, Minerva . Didn't mean to disturb you. I'll just go sit on the couch. " Justin didn't know what to say to her. He was a bit embarrassed that he had jumped the gun with her and .....he just didn't know where his head was at all. For the first time in a long time he had no idea what he should say or do.

Ariel found at soft chair to sit in. She was very tired, after a day of classes. She had met to many others in her house besides Alec and he was one of her twin brothers friends, not really hers.

Siobian giggled, "No offense taken. It's nothing to personal. Once my parent's got a divorce, Dad got full custody, and he won't let Mom see me... I don't even know if she wants to see me, after all... She does have my three normal sisters..." Siobian frowned, "I'm the only witch out of 4 children... He had to chuckle. "And you think I will know all the new places?" he asked with two raised eyebrows. "I'm all about tradition, Isobel -- I almost always visit the same place over and over again," he added as an afterthought.

If it were up to him, he'd want her to talk about what was going on between France, London and her family. Though now wasn't exactly the right time to bring it up again -- perhaps after they've had a bit of alone time to catch up, and just be the two of them, he'd bring it up again. He wanted her to be more omfortable talking with him, even if it meant going out of her comfort zone. Damien loved listening to Isobel talk. About anything; and if this situation with family was one he could help her with -- then he'd drop everything and do anything for her.

Too bad he wasn't always as open with her.

Can't blame her for not opening up when he hardly does so.

Ugh...

"Lets walk down by the lake," he suggested, pushing those frustrations aside. "But first a stop at the kitchen," he added. "Let's make a picnic to take with us, eh?"

Justin smiled a little about Minerva's comment about the first years and their overzealous behavior in class costing the Puff's points. Then she asked about the one thing he was hoping to avoid. He rubbed the back of his neck trying to think of how to say what he needed to.
" Well, it's just that....I've always been a little jealous that Harvey was the guy who got to you first and I wanted to be that guy. we were talking about Ame and everything and ...... I don't want you to think that I'm some sort of a git for kissing you. Especially with Harvey and I being best friends because I feel awful that I betrayed him...... And Ame...she's not even talking to me. I had tried to explain to her why I broke things off, but she just wouldn't listen. And I always have felt real comfortable around you. we talk about stuff that I never said to anyone else." he shrugged as he hung his head.

Minerva fell back in the chair tears forming in her eyes. "Well I guess it's better he hears it from us." She had so many thoughts and emotions. She looked at Justin her best friends. Was there something she was missing? Was there something there, could there be something there? "Justin I'm just so confused. I... I like Harvey, always have and this is killing me to hurt him over and over, but then.. well... there.. is you." she looked straight into his eyes.
