Minnie didn't have to wait long for Justin to come strolling in after her. He smiled as he saw her in their favourite chair. " well, don't you look comfy? " he said with a smile.

Minerva stretched and acted as if she had just woke up.. "What took you so long?" she laughed and scooted over for him to be able to sit. "So how is the rest of your homework going?"

Justin handed her a ham sandwich and a Diet Coke that he had just gotten from the kitchen and sat down next to her. " Alright , I suppose. I've got the rest of Muggle Studies left. But for the most part I'm done with everything else. How about you? " As he answered her he unwrapped his roast beef sandwich.

Alyssa came running into the room so excited that she couldn't contain what she had just found out any longer. "I MADE IT INTO THE QUIDDITCH TEAM!!!" she yelled out to anybody who was bothered to hear.

Then she saw Minnie and ran to her and hugged her despite the fact that she was lounging in the sofa. "Minnie, you made it too!! Isn't that great? See I told you that you would get in if you went for the tryouts. I'm so glad that we're going to be playing together this term." Alyssa told Minnie excitedly jumping up and down in front of her friend.

Messer flipped through his Quidditch magazine. This one is an old one maybe he should ask his daddy to send him a new one.

He didn't realize that the female prefect he's looking for was entering their common room until he heard her voice. "ARYA!" he beamed. Just the person he was looking for. "How are you?" he asked. "I was re-reading this old Quidditch magazine." he said and put down the magazine. Then his eyes went to the ice cream she was holding. Yum! Ice cream. "Do you have more of that?" Wait. He has something to give to Arya not asking for an ice cream! "I was looking for you. I want to give you something." he said. "Here you go." Messer gave the female prefect the gift wrapped in a simple brown-ish wrapping paper. "I'm not really good with wrapping." He's a boy after all wrapping was not their thing.

Daisy ran into the quidditch room, beaming madly as she followed Alyssa in.
'YESSSSS YES YES YES YES YES,' she screamed, forgetting about everyone else in the room. 'I MADE THE QUIDDITCH TEAM.' She wanted to jump right though the ceiling. 'SO DID YOU LYSSIE,' she grinned, hugging her friend. 'WE HAVE TO CELEBRATE.'

Ian watched Sophie. She seemed to be trying to figure him out. He was surprised. Most people didn't really take the time. He nodded. "That would be nice. I've only been to the Great Hall and classes. Oh...and the library." He wasn't as adventurous as most boys his age. He'd learned to be content spending time alone because that's what happened most of the time anyway.

He shrugged when she said she thought the book might be interesting. "It's ok. I think there's some mistakes in here, but it was written by non-magical people, I believe." He shook his head and said "no. She's not. I'm apparently the only magical person in my family and town. I think she had the book to try to understand me better." He thought for a second and asked her, "What about your family? Where are you from?"

Sophie felt relived when Ian agreed to hang out with her and the others. She didn't like to see people on their own... unless they wanted to be alone, of course. "Cool! I'll introduce you to some really nice people as soon as I can!" she said happily. "You haven't even gone outside yet??" so they would have a lot to see!

Sophie smiled at the thought of his mother trying to understand him better. "That's so nice of her!" She loved family bonding, and Ian seemed to have a good relationship with his mother. That was good! "Well, both of my parents are magical, but my dad's also a muggleborn, like you! And I went to a muggle school before coming to Hogwarts!" she said widening her smile a bit more. "I have tons of muggle friends! Oh, and I'm from England. You?" That was another thing Sophie really liked about Hogwarts. There were people from all over the world, it seemed!

He noticed a look of relief come over her as she heard his response. He didn't have any reason not to explore. It seemed this would be his home for a number of years, so he may as well get to know it. "That sounds fun." He replied. When she asked about outside, he shook his head. "No...other than to come up to the castle and go to classes out there." He wasn't much of an outside person in new places, afraid he'd get lost, but he knew the hills and nooks of Abergele as well as anyone who lived there.

He smiled back at her. "It is. But I think too, she wanted to make sure I wasn't dangerous. The teachers at my school liked to exaggerate about the amount of damage I inflicted on the unsuspecting." Her smile was wider and quite engaging. He'd not seen to many people smile like that around him." When she asked about where he was from, he smiled. "Well, I'm from Northern Wales, along the coast." He was hungry now. Of course that was his normal reaction when thinking of home, because when he thought of home, he thought of food.

"Oh, so there'll be plenty of things to see!" Sophie said looking at him as her eyes sparkled. She loved the outdoors. "I'm telling you, you're going to love it! It can even be fun to be around the Whomping Willow!" she giggled. It had indeed helped Hufflepuff a lot on Capture the flag! "Of course, we can never get too close from it if we don't want to get hit!"

'Inflicted on the unsuspecting'. Sophie giggled at his words. Then she remembered when her teachers freaked out at a couple of things she had done too. It made her giggle again. "Muggles can be so silly sometimes!" They truly amused her. "Your mum knows you're not dangerous now, right?" she asked smirking. She knew someone from Hogwarts always went to explain everything to the muggleborns' parents when they received their Hogwarts letter. When he said where he was from, she raised both of her eyebrows. "Oh, cool!"

She glanced at the fireplace for a few seconds then looked back at Ian. "What did you used to do before finding out you were a wizard? I mean, I'm sure you've never played quidditch, right?"

Nate walked in all gloomy like. He was sad he didn't make the quiddditch team. But oh well he wasn't going to cry about it. He was just bummed out. The muggles have an expression don't cry over spilled milk. That doesn't mean literally cry over milk that has spilled. It means don't cry over something small he thought. Anyways their is always next year. Nate found a place to sit by the fireplace.

"Thanks dear." she smiled as she took the snacks. "Oh the homework I've been done ages ago." she teased, but blushed at the answer. Then Alyssa came jumping into the common room and shocked Minerva. "I...I.. made the team? How do you know?" Minerva looked around shocked, she actually made the team. She had no thought of actually making it.

He eyed her just a little suspiciously. Here she was promising him grand adventures and she hardly knew him. Maybe she would get tired of him after a few hours or days. Perhaps she would find that he didn't like much of what he was seeing. Of course that was silliness. He hadn't seen it and perhaps it would be as much fun as exploring the things back home. His mouth dropped open when she mentioned the whomping willow. That was one of the things they were told not to get too close to. "How do you get near it without it smashing you to bits?" he asked.

As she giggled, he smiled. He wasn't used to making people laugh too much. She seemed to be enjoying his company. "Yes...they do seem to be. I do suppose though that most people fear the unknown or different. I know that when I was growing up, I didn't care for all the tourists walking around and making a mess of our town." Of course it wasn't the kindest thing to say, but it seemed appropriate. "What's quidditch?" he asked. It sounded like an odd thing, so it did pique his curiousity.

" Your welcome, Babe. " he said as Alyssa came in happy as could be that she had made the quidditch team. Then she said that minnie had made the team as well. " Wow, min. Looks like I'll have a challenge next term going against you... " he said as he gave her a kiss on the cheek. " ey we should celebrate this weekend and go to Hogsmeade. My treat. What do ya think? " he said with a naughty little grin.

Sophie was so happy with the idea of showing Ian everything around Hogwarts that she didn't even notice when he eyed her a little suspiciously. She smirked when he asked about the Whomping Willow. "Well, I didn't know that either until we had to be around it for Capture the Flag just a few weeks ago." She said excitedly. She had loved that game! "I actually found out it understands us! I spoke to it, saying I was thankful that it was helping us around and it calmed down!" Her eyes sparkled again as she spoke. "Of course, it is still a wild and hitting tree, so we have to be careful." she finished nodding.

The way the boy spoke made Sophie smile. "Yeah, I guess they do. Especially muggles! It seems they don't know how to react at certain things sometimes." That was what she found most amusing about them. "I hope your mum is okay with you being a wizard now!"

She was used to people asking her about quidditch. Her muggle cousins had asked her that once. "It's a spot! A really cool sport in which we use brooms to fly around." Sophie started gesturing as she explained. "There are three chasers, that use a ball called quaffle to score goals for the team. The keeper guards and defends the goal posts." she bounced a little on her chair again. "There are also two beaters, who have bats to hit the bludger - that's another ball - towards the opposite team!" She wasn't saying all of that fast, was she? "And then there's the seeker! His or her job is to catch the golden snitch - whiich is another ball, a tiny one! When the seeker catches the snitch, the game is over!" She smiled. "It seems like a lot of information, but once you get used to it, it's not that complicated. We have matches here during the school term! You're going to love it!"

Sophie saw at the corner of her eye a little boy sitting near them and looked around to see who it was. It was Nate! She gave him a smile, but then noticed he was sad about something. "Nate, are you okay?" She frowned. Another sad first year? That was not cool. "What happened?"

"Yeh I'm just a little bummed that I didn't make the quidditch team. Oh well there's always next year. Also I should never cry over spilled milk as the muggles would say."

Minerva blushed a bit. "You won't have any problems against me. Thank you though. I can't believe I made the team. I didn't think I had a chance. Yes Hogsmeade sounds great." She said still in shock.

"I'm great." She took another bite of her ice cream and took a better look at the magazine. Quidditch. She supposed she should have assumed that seeing how that was what most students seemed to enjoy. Did he play too? "I do in the kitchens." And he was welcome to that stash if he wanted. Hehe.

Oh, he'd been looking for her? Arya looked down at the gift with intrest while swallowing her ice cream. She accepted it and looked it over both sides, flashing a grin at Messer. "Looks fine to me. Besides, gifts never stayed wrapped for long." And she wasn't one to sit and admire wrapping when she had gifts to open. Heh.

Placing her ice cream on one of the nearby tables, she ripped open the gift, grin widening when she realized what it was. "Is this the transfig homework?"

" Your wlcome, Babe. good then it;s settled. This weekend in Hogsmeade it is. " Justin said with a smile.

Minerva smiled, "Well maybe we can get Harvey and Ame to go as well. Wonder if Harvey made his house team." She looked at Alyssa "Alyssa would you like to join us at Hogsmeade?" Minerva smiled "I want to go to that store.. what was the name of it Honey something and get some fudge." she loved that fudge last term.

" You mean honeyduke's. Yeah, that place is great. We'll get whatever you'd like. " Justin smiled. " The more the merrier. "

Alyssa jumped up and down hugging Daisy too. "I KNOW!! I KNOW!! I KNOW!!..WE DEFINITELY NEED TO CELEBRATE,"Alyssa squealed back just as excited that Daisy had been selected. "Yes we now have another reason to have a party," Alyssa laughed.



"Because I heard rumors that the team roster was up. So I ran down there and I saw that you were on the roster too." Alyssa laughed looking at the shocked face of her friend.



"I would love to join you guys, if you don't mind me tagging along. I could ask Aaron if he wants to come too. When are you guys going? Right now or later." Alyssa asked Minnie and Justin.

Amethyst walked into the common room, a letter in one hand and a piece of blank parchment in the other. Her quill was in between her fingers as she walked. She went and sat on the couch next to her friends and quickly wrote a lengthy reply. "Hello everyone.." She said as she wrote.

"Yes Honeydukes I want to go there." she said smiling. The shock leaving her and the excitement coming in.. then concern... Gobstones, Quidditch, classes will I have enough time for everything she thought.

"You are not tagging along.. Just come with us. We are going a little later. I still can't believe I made the team. When is practices?"

"Hey Ame, whatcha doing? Do you want to go to Hogsmeade with us?"

" Hey, Ame. What are ya writin? " Justin said as he tried to see what she was writing.
