Autumn walked in and sat on the emty desk

Williamson stalked into the room behind the girl, crossing his arms over his chest as he stood just inside the doorway. The door slammed shut and locked automatically with a series of ominous clicks and whurrrs. He stared down the Ravenclaw for.... a while, and then then lazily flicked his wand at the desk she was sitting upon.

It vanished.

"So. Miss Couture." He continued to stare at her coolly. "Tell me why you're here."

The desk despired... What was thst for?
"Well If the professor didn't know then....." Tjought autumn
"I am here bcause I did not follow the rules? Excuse me professor but may I ask a question? How long is the detention?"

"It's not a question, it's a statement. You did NOT follow the rules, yes, but you were also rude and disobedient of a professor's directions. What made you think that you alone are too good to wear the swimsuits we provided?" Williamson frowned but did not budge from his looming spot near the door. "Every single other student had no problem going into the lake in those archaic outfits."

And before he had a chance to tell her that no, she could not ask a question, the firstie did so anyway. "Forever," he intoned grumpily. "No, seriously, it's until you get the point of why you're being punished, and your punishment hasn't even started yet."

He chanced a glance out the tiny rectangular window at the top of the door and raised a brow as he turned back toward the girl. "So, judging by your behavior so far, you've learned nothing."

And thus they were going to be there for a long, long time.

The professor was saying she hasn't learnt anything "I Sometimes say answers in a question, I am questioning I am right. I did not think I was special. The swimming suit was too big for me, let alone look horrid. But I relise that if the suit needed adjusting I should have spoken to a professor first to get permission to do it."
He couldn't keep her there for ever!And she KNEW what she had done wrong and why she was being punished she just didnt like it!

Of course, all that was exactly has he had been expecting her to say.

"You could have and should have spoken to a professor if you had qualms about either of your swimsuits," William stated seriously. "But since you, a FIRST YEAR, felt capable of taking fashion into your own hands, your punishment is going to fit the crime."

Arms still folded, Williamson stepped to the side of the door.

"I understand sir, It wasn't much about the fashion though. I fyou don't mind me asking sir, what is my punishment?"
Autumn was biting her lip, she had already missed the opening of the muggle studdies class! The thing she was most excited about.

Of course William had left the dirty work to him.

Literally.

Scabior walked along the dark halls, a sack floating behind him. Pushing the right detention door open, he walked in the sack following. "Hope i'm not too late." He said with a stiff nod to the other Professor.

Eying the first year the sack floated to her side. Pulling out his wand, Scabior flicked it turning the sack upside down and spilling old dirty, muddy quidditch uniforms out beside her.

A strong horrid smell began to fill the room once the clothes were let out. Scabior flicked his wand again and a washbin half full with water and soap appeared along with a small stool. "Since fashion is such a big issue to you Miss Couture, you must understand the importance of clean clothes. That being said, will not leave here today until you have finished washing that pile, to our standards."

Autumn looked at the pile... Ok shouldn't be too hard! She's a muggle-born she was used to doing some washing!! "It wasn't the fashion..." She spoke quietly as she picked up the first robe, Why couldn't they get that!
She rolled up her sleeves and pushed it down into the water and grabbed the soap and began to scrub... After scrubbing the same robe for about 3 minutes it was finally clean, mud was not the easiest to get out!
Autumn continued doing this, her back hurt where she was bent over.
Autumn had injured her back when she was young.
"excuse me professor, could I have a Bucket and stool where I don't have to lean over so much, I have a back problem, if you dont believe me I have a not from my muggle doctor."
She hoped the professor believed her! She as halfway through and had sufferd ith her back for 2 hours now!

"If it wasn't the fashion that offended you, then why did you feel the urge to alter your swimsuit?" Williamson pressed, watching as Dash set the girl up with her task. "And it's not JUST the alterations that landed you in detention; it was your plumb refusal to follow directions and cooperate with your professors. UNTIL YOU LEARN SOME RESPECT, you're going to be doing as much laundry as we can find."

And may Merlin assure her that a castle full of children made for a LOT of laundry.

"You have a perfectly fine stool and bucket." William shook his head. He did NOT believe this girl's excuse. "Keep working." He pointed to the robe she had just pulled out. "That's not even CLOSE to clean."

He looked to Dash. Did the Ravenclaw need some stronger soap, perhaps?

Well, William basically said everything he had to. Looking over at the clothes that she said were clean Dash kicked them around with his feet a bit.

Yeah. Still dirty. "That is not clean. Like...most of these robes." He reached over and threw the clean clothes back in with the dirty ones. Start again.

"I'm sure Slytherin wouldn't mind having nice hand washed clothes. It would give the house elves a break. What do you think Will?" He looked up at the other Professor. Flicking his wand, he gave the first year some stronger soap and fresh water. There. Keep going.

Autumn kicked the stool out from her, and sat on the floor she really couldn't bend over like that with her back. "If you don't believe me you can send a owl to my parents go see the note, whatever."
The smell was getting to Autumn now, Mud mixed with sweat lovely.... As the sent petruded her brain she grabbed the 'not clean' clothes.... she couldn't find any stains , she diped it into the water and scrubbed the robes, this was hard work. She was missing the first muggle lesson. She was meant to be wearing her special dress, just for this! And now she's sitting doing work! Autumn thought... hey this was like cinderella! The poor school child working hard... evil teachers won't let her go to the muggle studdies class, makes her clean.... now where is her prince!! She wasn't gonna give the profesors the satisfaction of seeing her suffer she just crossed her legs and started scrubbing at each stain. The soap alone wasn't gripping the dirt enough to get it off. There was no way she could do this without a brush... physiclly impossible!
"sir may I have a brush?" She questioned... the profesors were strict she didn't know whether they would allow her the brush...

"Slytherin House would greatly appreciate hand-washed robes, particularly those washed by a Ravenclaw!" William chuckled darkly, his eyes never leaving Autumn. He would have appreciated it back when he was in Slytherin, and doubtless Dash would have too.

And now she was requesting a brush. SIGH. "What do you think, Dash, has the girl earned herself a brush? I think she owes us an apology before she gets any more favors."

"professors I am sorry for what I did, I know I was wrong and should have thought about my actions more carefully"

"Why should she get a brush if she isn't using the items that we provided for her?" He pointed to the stool which she had kicked away.

Dash wasn't convinced at all. The girl just looked like she didn't care one bit and was just pretending to be sorry. He turned to the first year frowning completely. "That is not the kind of apology that Professor Williamson meant and you know it." First year or not she knew it. "At the time you did not need tothink about your actions." He made a face atthe ridiculousness of her words.

"You knew exactly what you were doing. You chose not to follow specific orders and chose to completely ignore your classmates who told you to listen." Scabior wanted her to apologize for that, if anything. Not being sorry for not thinking.

"I wonder if we can lock her in here and leave?" What would William say to that? "I don't want to waste my time with someone who obviously isn't getting it." Leave her in here for about two weeks. That sounded good. If she got hungry she could eat the clothes.

Hmm, Dash's point was valid. "This is true," he agreed with a careless shrug. "Keep working, Miss Couture. You have a long ways to go." He pointed at yet another spot on the same robe she'd been working on for a while now. "Don't forget to scrub at those hems. They get awfully muddy."

He would know.

"I bet that's allowed." William pretended to start for the door. "Maybe we should just get Tate to suspend her. It would honestly be easier for everyone."

Autumn was confused, she really did get it! And she really was sorry.
"I don't know what was wrong with that apoligy. I am sorry, I am not complaining about the detention, I know exactly why I got the detention and why I am being punished. I'm not as stupid as people think about me." This wasn't fair, she could feel her eyes tearing up, the one thing she hated more that ever is people telling her she's lieing. "I have told you why I am not using the stool, it auses me to much pain, The floor isn't much better, but at least it won't injure my back more. I'm sorry, I don't know what else I can do. But If I don't get a brush I will be here forever as the soap cannot grip the material and dirt."
All through this she was still scrubbing wwith the soap! It was no good! It wouldn't work.

The girl was lucky that William had been the one to issue the detention. If it were Scabior he'd made the girl go down to the bottom of the lake with no Gillyweed.

Pity.

"Simple. You should be apologizing for not listening to orders purposely, and then for being a brat and ignoring your housemates who begged for you to listen." Hadn't he just said that? Scabior shook his head, he was done with this. Waving his wand a bush appeared and he tossed it over to the Ravenclaw's side.

"Suspending isn't necessary. But I think dinner is about to start." And he was hungry. "Come on William, lets just leave her in here for a few hours." Without another word to the hooligan he left the room.

THATS WHAT AUTUMN WAS APOLIGIZING FOR!! were the professors stupid.

autumn crossed her legs and continued to scrub but now with a brush Instantly she could see more dirt was coming off!
Good there leaving she can get on with it now.

Willy just shrugged at the girl. "I don't have to be a legilimens to see that you're not being sincere with your apologies. So..... maybe some hard work will knock a bit of sense into you."

He gave her one last pitying look and then followed Scabior out the door. "I'm famished, mate!"

OMG this was starting to get to autumn.
"I am being sincere, what else can I do??"
Autumn finished one robe finally! And grabbed another one... ugghh this was going to take forever.

Autumn finally finished the robes, but the professors had been gone for ages!
She rumaged through her bag for some parchment, ink and quill. She finally found it and laid down on the floor and began to write:

Dear professors
I do relise that this letter may not be able to satisfy you, but I am sorry.
Paper and pen can't even express how much I regret what I done.
I am sorry for disobeying your instructions, and not listening to you.
I really do mean it. I am so sorry.
Oh and I've finished the laundry

Dinner had been good. So had the little post nap. Scabior was disappointed when it occurred to him that leaving the Ravenclaw in the dungeon for a couple of days would probably get him fired.

Eh.

After fetching William from his hut thing office, they both made their way back to the dungeon. As the door to the room unlocked, Scabior pushed it open, an extremely bored look on his face.

Autumn seemed to be lying on the floor writing something. "William, did we give her permission to write something?" Dash did NOT think so. He quickly bent over and snatched the paper up. Scanning over the juvenile words quickly he tossed it to his fellow Slytherin. "Please explain to me Miss Couture why those words could not have just been said out loud?"

Dinner had been GREAT and the post-dinner sleep had been AMAZING. But, alas, William had been dragged from his slumber by Dash because, apparently, they were not supposed to leave children in the dungeons overnight?

That hadn't been in the teacher manual. Hmmph. William grumpily grabbed the paper from Dash and scanned it over, then yawned, rubbed at his eyes, and read it again.

"Uhhhhhh no, I don't think we gave her permission to do anything other than clean those robes." Speaking of.... he pressed the paper into Dash's chest and made his way over to the cleaner-looking robes. Willy picked one up and eyed it skeptically, shrugging as he let it slip from his grasp and back into the pile.

Well. "I guess she wasn't lying about the laundry." It WAS done.

autumn could feel her eyes tearing up. "professors I had finished...The.. The words can be said outlound. but knowing me.. I'd stumble or break down!! Im sorry professor's Im soo soo soo sorry."
Autumn wiped away a tear, she didn't want to seem weak but she couldn't help it!
