All the students were answering the questions already so, what was the point of saying anything. Besides, Jen didn't want to sound like a know it all freak. She just listened to what the people were saying. |
Kurumi.FROZE. Here it was. It was coming. The insufferable know it all plus another few points taken from her. Oh well, he would have some sort of sarcastic comment about it, take no more than 5 points, and move on. Five points wasn't THAT much anyway. Heh, look at her sounding like it wouldn't bother her. HA! And then...he was POINTING at her. POINTING. Yep, it was coming. Kurumi half way squinted her eyes and braced for impact. And it never came. YAY! Oh, not to worry there, professor. Kurumi was writing all that down. When he asked the next question, Kurumi thought for a moment, pretty sure that she had sort of hinted at an answer to that one earlier in an answer she had given elsewhere. The notion of a no danger chamber had the Gryffindor at ease. Sort of. So she raised her hand again. "To open the Chamber you would need to be a Parselmouth. Considering that this is a very rare and typically hereditary gift, the number of people that would be able to do so would be very small if any at all. However, it IS possible for someone without the gift to imitate it and open it, as was the case during the Battle of Hogwarts." Because, Ronald Weasley was certainly not related to Salazar Slytherin in any way shape or form - the man did not have red hair for one. |
"One would have to know parseltongue to be able to open the Chamber. Since parseltongue is rare, it would near impossible to open." Sky answered, hoping that at least she was partly correct. |

Selina rose her hand and answered Scabior's question, "Well, the Chamber of Secrets would be nearly impossible to open now because it needs a Parselmouth speaker to open the Chamber. I mean, the Chamber is only opened by the specific instructions of the snake language." |
Amelia raised her hand now. "Slytherin made it so that the entrance can only be opened by using Parseltongue or snake language. Since it's very rare for anyone to be able to talk to snakes, not many wizards would be able to open it. Though you could if you mimicked it like Ron Weasley did for instance." She remembered the story of him and Hermione Granger entering the Chamber of Secrets in their Seventh Year. Neither of them could speak Parseltongue. |
Text Cut: Professor Violet raised her hand. "Sir, it's because the witch or wizard would have to be a parselmouth, a person who can talk to snakes to open the chamber and because Salazar Slytherin was a parselmouth who made the chamber." She paused for a moment. "Also, most parselmouths are in the house of Slytherin, Salazar Slytherin's house, but Harry Potter was able to open it because he was able to speak parselmouth at the time." |
Playing catchup Alyssa was busy jotting down notes when the Professor posed his next question. She immediately knew the answer to that and was about to raise her hand, but others were faster than her and basically gave the answer that she was about to give, and that was because it had to be someone who could speak parseltongue in order to open the Chamber and that it didn't necessarily have to be an heir of Slytherin's. Alyssa knew that because Ronald Weasley was able to open it just by imitating what Harry had said in parseltongue, the first time they opened the Chamber. But since all of that had been mentioned. Alyssa kept quiet and continued to jot down what was being said in her journal. |
Oh, she knew the answer to this one! Glenn raised her hand, "Well, you'd need to speak Parseltongue right? And- well- not many people were or are actually." Glenn said. It had been a big deal that Harry Potter had been a Parselmouth so that must of meant there weren't many around. |
Although she knew some stuff about the chamber of secrets, Gwendolyn decided not to repeat what everyone else had already mentioned, so she simply went on taking some notes on her piece of parchment. However, after skipping giving an answer to so many questions, the third year decided to start being a bit more active. Mhmm. Now about the entrance..., she started thinking, as she drew her attention back to the Professor. 'It can only be opened at the command in Parseltongue' Something like 'open'. Wait a second- were they talking about the entrance at the sink?, Gwendolyn thought as she gave a quick look in that direction. Or at the door which is said to be under the bathroom? Err... this started to become confusing, so Gwen tried waiting patiently for the Professor's reply. |
Nate raised his hand and said "The reason why the chamber would be hard to open is because you need to know parseltounge to just get into the entrance that leads to the chambers. You then would need to use parseltounge again to get into the entrance to where the basilisk was found which was where Harry Potter killed it with the sword of gryffyndor." |
Daisy raised her hand in the air, proud she knew this answer. 'You had to be a parseltongue to enter the chamber, and that's a very rare gift,' she said, 'which Harry Potter was accidentally given by Voldemort, but he didn't realise.' |
Minerva put up her hand. "Well Professor you need to talk snake language to open it, right?" |

------------ "As most of you said, if someone did find the chamber it would have been almost impossible for them to open it unless they spoke Parseltongue. A rare language that involves speaking to snakes-therefore being able to speak and control the Basilisk." He paused, note taking time. Good, right? "It was a language that Slytherin, Riddle and Harry Potter could speak. However, just like Miss Reinhart and Miss Hollingberry pointed out, the chamber was opened a third time." That information wasn't known by everyone, but it wasn't hard to find out. "And by someone who wasn't even a Parselmouth. During the battle of Hogwarts, Ron Weasley was able to open the chamber by mimicking what he had heard from Harry Potter. So it was then that it was figured out that you did not need to be a Parselmouth to open the chamber, you only had to be able to mimic the language. And with that-" Scabior sighed before walking over to the broken tap with the engraved snake. He took a deep breath before a strange hissing sound escaped. He waited a few seconds but nothing happened. He waited before trying again, the hissing sound a bit louder. A loud clunking sound came from the sink and Scabior took a step back. The top of the sinks lifted up and the sinks began to slowly spread apart. The main skin began to descend into the ground before it was covered creating a clear path into the dark hole. "Right, so light your wands and jump in." That was right, they were heading into the Chamber of Secrets. OOC: Technically the lesson is over :) The next part is only a scavenger hunt which is your homework (though IC your charrie only has an hour in there). If you want to do it just RP your charrie jumping down the hole to the chamber in here and then post in the other thread. |
Right, only a Parselmouth or one that can mimic it well can open the chamber. So imagine Vickers shock to hear the Professor starting to hiss and the sinks give way to show the opening. He was still getting around the surprise of actually hearing the Parseltongue language when they were told to jump right in. Into the Chamber of Secrets? It took a moment for the Ravenclaw to even stand, and not entirely because his bum has gotten numb from the cold. Finally he came to his senses and with a flick of his wrist and a whisper of Lumos, his wand lighted up. Waving it before the hole at his feet he glances at the Professor and descends after him. Excited, frightened but most of all, a curiosity that cannot be kept at bay any longer, Vickers jumps after the Historian and follows him down the dark tunnels ahead. |
They were going into the chamber of secrets?! THE CHAMBER? Ella looked at the professor dumbstruck for a moment before she nodded, a smile forming on her face. Was she scared, of course! However this was a once in a lifetime chance for a serious adventure in a rather creepy part of the castle. She took a deep breath and took one last look at the bathroom before she lit her wand (good thing she had read about the incantation!) and jumped down the hole into the tunnels. A small scream escaped her lips as she fell. |
Amelia stared at the Professor curiously as he spoke. Then she watched him walk over to the sink and... was he doing what she thought he was doing? Clearly he was, because he started making hissing sounds and a few moments later the sink moved aside and the opening to the Chamber formed. Oh my God... it's the Chamber of Secrets. She couldn't believe that they could go down in there. There was no way on earth she was missing this opportunity! She followed after her Professor and a few fellow students and jumped down into the Chamber. |
Right. INTO the Chamber of Secrets WITH the Heir of Slytherin - or the suspected one at least. Because THAT sounded like a good idea. Maybe it was her inner Gryffindor coming through now, but the prefect packed up her things and WILLING followed him and the rest of the students towards the sink. With a quick flick of her wand and a, "Lumos," Kurumi peered over the hole for a moment. This...DID turn into a slide, right? And there weren't going to be any...skeletons or anything for them to crash onto, right? RIGHT? Taking one last look at Professor Scabior, bad idea, Kurumi shut her eyes and jumped in. Another bad idea. Doooooooooooooooooooooown we GO! |
Minerva got nervous he wanted them to go in. The snake was dead that she remembered, but still it was scary down there someone died and another almost died. She took a deep breath and got up. Ok she was going to do this, she wasn't one to sit around and watch. So she walked over to the opening and jumped down in the chamber to follow the rest of the class. |
Jen got her wand Hopefully, I will do this spell right "Lumos" A light erupted from Jen's wand. Cool, alright, get in the hole Jen said as she jumped in the hole. |
Daichi snapped his notebook shut and placed it back in his school bag as Professor Scabior announced they were going in to the chamber of secrets. He was a little scared to go but at the same time he also felt curious to see what his house founder had made as a secret chamber. Getting up on his feet, Daichi giggled softly as the Professor stood near the sink and began to hiss at it. It sounded weird... like a snake. As the tunnel to the chamber of secrets revealed itself , Daichi grabbed his wand just to be sure and followed the other students as he too lowered himself in the dark tunnel and dropped. |
Wait. They were actually going in to the Chamber of Secrets? Vashti wasn't sure whether to be afraid, nervous, or excited. Maybe all of the above. What exactly would they find down there? Would the basilisk skeleton still be there? That would be creepy. Still, it would be pretty cool to be able to say she had been down there, considering only a few people had ever been down in the Chamber of Secrets. So she drew her wand, lit it with a nonverbal Lumos, then made her way over to the entrance and jumped down into the chamber, following the professor and her classmates. |
Lily waited as the professor went over how one could get into the chamber. Most of it was stuff that the ravenclaw already knew due to reading her textbooks. But the part about not having to know parseltongue to get in was new information to Lily. And now the professor was speaking to the sink in parseltongue. We had better not be going into the Chamber... Lily thought as she started to shake in fear. Sure, there was no longer a monster, but it was still creepy to be entering the chamber that was so famed in history. Why... the redhead didn't want to enter the chamber. How would they get out since there was no ladder or anything around to get them out? But they were going in for sure. So Lily let a few go down before her, so that 1. she could learn the incantation to light your wand and be able to test it out, and 2. she wouldn't be all alone down in the chamber. Once it was her turn to enter the chamber, Lily lit her wand using lumos and carefully slipped into the tunnel down to the chamber. |
When the teacher announced that they would be going into the chamber a chill went down Nate's spine. Looks like he would have to jump in like the rest of them were doing. Oh boy this is going to be fun nd scary at the same time Nate thought. He took out his wand and then said "Lumos." A ball of light appeared on his wand. He then went up to the chamber door and whispered to himself "Well here goes nothing." Then after that he jumped. |
