HoM Two: In Myrtle's Loo

As you made your way to the History of Magic classroom you noticed a large sign on the door.
Quote:

Class today will be held on the second floor, in the girls lavatory.
Please make your way there quickly.
And yes, I mean boys too.
-Professor Scabior

After reading the sign you swiftly make your way up to the second floor. Once inside the lavatory you'll notice Professor Scabior standing beside the columns of sinks. Surpringsly Myrtle has not flood the washroom today and so the floor is nice and dry. "Just sit down on the floor somewhere."

Zhenya walked to the HoM Class room, prepared to write things down. But there was a note on the door! She read it and frowned. What on earth were they going to be doing in the bathroom? What if she needed to use the toilet during class?

Oh who cares! She was happy that the lesson would be different, so she turned and made her way towards the bathroom.

She walked in and saw nobody there yet, but Professor Scabior. "Hello Professor," she said, slightly nervous.

natethegreat 02-20-2012 05:13 AM

Nate walked up to the classroom. He was jsut about to enter the room when he saw a note on the door. Whattttt. In the girls bathroom. Oh you have got to be kidding me. Why on earth would it be moved down there. So he walked down the flights of stairs to the girls bathroom. He walked on in and said "Hello professor. How are you?"

SilverDragon 02-20-2012 05:19 AM

Silvia made her way down the hall to the History of Magic classroom. When she reached it she found the door closed and a sign hanging on it. They were having class in a bathroom?! Strange. Very strange. What could they possibly be learning today that required they be in the girl's lavatory?

Nevertheless Silvia made her way to the girl's lavatory on the second floor. "Hello professor," she said. Looking around, she chose a spot on the floor that didn't seem too dirty to sit on, hoping that the house elves or the professor had made sure to clean it beforehand. She set her bag on her lap and waited for class to start.

FireboltAvis88 02-20-2012 05:31 AM

Alyssa wondered what they were doing in the girl's bathroom. But it wasn't for her to question why. She noticed the Professor standing beside the columns of sinks and so walked up and greeted him. "Hello Professor." before looking around and finding a spot to sit on the floor of the bathroom. 'Well at least one good thing about being here. If I need to go, I won't have far to go.'Alyssa thought to herself holding back smile.

FearlessLeader19 02-20-2012 05:36 AM

After reading the sign on the HoM sign on the door, Jory made his way down to the girl's bathroom on the second floor.

"Strange place for a class,'' he thought as he entered the room "Are we gonna learn about the Chamber of Secrets?''. "Hi, Professor,'' he said aloud looking around. Only a few students had come so far.

PhoenixWizard 02-20-2012 05:42 AM

When Angelina read the sign for HoM she narrowed her eyes in wonder what of they would possibly do in the girls bathroom. Shrugging her sholders she turned and headed for the second floor. Once she arrived she chuckled a little at the strange place to have HoM at. A thought came to her, If someone had to go to the bathroom, they didn't have to walk far.

When Angelina walked into the bathroom she joined her classmates and said, "Hello Professor."

Erindipity 02-20-2012 05:42 AM

Mortimer made his way quickly to History of Magic class, not wanting to get a terrible seat or anything. But... when he walked in and heard Professor Scabior's directions he grinned slightly and said, "Good day, Professor."

Sit down... on the floor of the loo? How GROSS! And amazing and FUN! He KNEW which loo they were in, too, so that made it even MORE amazingly awesome. Stepping around a few people he picked a spot and tucked his robes under his bum and took a seat, rapt with attention.

Gabrielle 02-20-2012 06:35 AM

When Glenn arrived in the History of Magic class, she noticed the sign. Oh no! She had taken her time coming there, thinking that she had enough time but it would take a while longer to get to the second floor.

She sprinted out of the classroom. Her bag slamming against her back as she took the moving stairs two at a time. Glenn ran into bathroom before slowing when she saw only a couple of people there. Whew. "Hello," Breathe. "Professor." Good thing Myrtle had not flooded the bathroom. She could have really hurt herself if she had slid over. Glenn took her seat on the cold bathroom floor, her blonde hair a mess from her running.

KP1 02-20-2012 07:18 AM

Ryan couldn't believe the History of Magic lesson would be in the girls bathroom. He walked into the Bathroom smiling,''Hello Professor,How are you?''He said smiling.Wodering what they would be learing about this time.

weasleytwinsROCK 02-20-2012 07:27 AM

Daisy walked into the classroom - lavatory and looked around, grinning at several boys who looked torn between disgust and amazment at having to spend the lesson in here. Of course, she herself had no clue why the lesson would be spent here, but her face certainly seemed more reassured at the fact than some people's.
'Hello Professor,' she grinned, dropping her bag onto a spot of floor, and sitting on the bag. She didn't mind the floor, except it was cold, and her bag would help with that.

WhittyBitty 02-20-2012 08:50 AM

Amelia was very confused as to why they were holding class here in the girl's bathroom. Were they here to learn about The Chamber of Secrets? Or Hogwarts's plumbing system or something? She raised her brow as she tried to find a nice place to sit without getting her clothes dirty. "Hello, Professor."

Jezabel Black 02-20-2012 09:44 AM

Jez was quite excited about this lesson. She'd heard many rumours about the moody ghost of Moaning Myrtle, the girl killed in the bathroom, and of the secret the bathroom was supposed the hold.
"Hello Professor Scabior," said Jez, smiling at the teacher before finding a place to sit on the floor that wasn't totally wet. She stared expectantly around at the familiar bathroom, wondering if they really would be going to the infamous Chamber of Secrets this lesson, or if that was just wishful thinking.

affy7ann 02-20-2012 09:46 AM

Tayla wondered why Professor Scabior chose the girl's lavatory for their next lesson. "Maybe we'll talk about the Chamber of Secrets..." was all she could think of that made sense.

"Hello, Professor," Tayla greeted and then chose a spot where she could lean on the wall of one of the cubicles. She was feeling a bit tired today.

sweetpinkpixie 02-20-2012 11:06 AM

SHE KNEW IT! Professor Scabior was the Heir of Slytherin! That is why they were having class in the girls' bathroom. But not just ANY bathroom. Nope. It just so happened to be the one that Myrtle haunted and everyone knew from history what had happened there. SO...somehow...there was another basilisk. Hadn't there been some weird Slytherin student a few years back who had said she was breeding them? Or trying to? They must have accomplished it and now there was one down there and now the next Heir of Slytherin was back in the school and ready to take them all down to the Chamber of Secrets for...whatever reason.

Cautiously, Kurumi entered the bathroom and made eye contact with Professor Scabior. Her opinion of him had changed slightly ever since the adventure that had been the vegetable garden, but she was still cautious around him. Her mood was a little less dark today, although her mind still had a hard time focusing on things for too long before they lingered back to her mother.

"Hello, Professor Scabior," Kurumi said with a small bow as she...erm....found a seat on the floor, her violet eyes looking at a certain faucet with a certain slithery creature engraved on it.

Tazzie 02-20-2012 11:23 AM

Blink. Blink.

The young eaglette blinked at least five times as she reread the message on the door of their history of Magic classroom. It seemed like she just couldn't believe what was written there. They were actually going to have their class at the Lavatory? As in the girl's bathroom with boys going along too? Now that seemed amiss, more like that something Thereos had told them was going on at the Forbidden Forest.

With a sigh, she proceeded to their new location. "So maybe..we'd be tackling something about the Chamber of Secrets?" She said to herself as she climbed the stairs, that was..considering to the fact that the Chamber's entrance could be found at the Lavatory itself. "Hello Professor," she greeted the Professor as she walked inside. There were already a few of her classmates, she discovered when she looked around. That was when Professor Scabior said THAT...whaaaaat? Come again? They were going to sit on the floor? Beezus just couldn't help but stare at him as she slowly slumped to the cold tiles, following the lead of her classmates. Now that was just so fetch!

Lislchen 02-20-2012 11:23 AM

The idea of Dash as the Heir of Slytherin is a little...scary. xD

After having read the sign on the classroom door - repeatedly! - Lewis quickly made his way upstairs, a small frown on his face. The class was going to be held WHERE?! In a lavatory? There was really something seriously wrong with that professor. One of the many reasons he really hadn't wanted to come to this class in the first place.

Once outside the lavatory, Lewis stopped, not entering it despite the fact that more and more students were walking past him and into the bathroom. But...this was a GIRLS' bathroom. He couldn't just walk in. This was wrong. Very wrong.

But he could peek inside, right? And what he saw when he did that caused his mouth to drop open. Was this THE lavatory?! The one where the entrance to the Chamber of Secrets was apparently?! SERIOUSLY?! Lewis still didn't enter, which left him standing just outside the door, staring inside with his mouth hanging slightly open.

Oh wow.

DuckyLinJi 02-20-2012 11:51 AM

....Girls lavatory?

He ...a boy...had to go in to a girls bathroom?! O__o

Okay there were alot of things that were scary ..but this! This was REALLY scary. He had no idea how girls lavatories would look like and his imagination took him too alot of pink..flowers...and other stuff that could be identified with a girly girl.

Maybe they had a snapping toilet that snapped at boys who entered? eeek! He did not like that. But since this was a lesson, and Professor Scabior had told in his message that the boys should come too he forced his feet to enter the lavatory.

Waiting for the girly girly things, Daichi dared to look through the slits of his eyes and saw... any normal lavatory. He laughed quietly to himself as he entered the lavatory and walked to the middle where big rounded sinks were. "Hello Professor Scabior..." he said the moment he saw the professor and blinked at his sit down on the floor. Despite that the floor looked clean , sitting on a GIRLS bathroom floor was a big no no for the Slytherin.

So obviously he did not sit down but leaned against the wall.

Steelsheen 02-20-2012 12:36 PM

When Vickers turned for HOM class he was startled to see a note pinned on the door. But that was nothing compared to what he felt when he was done reading it.

A class IN the Girls' Loo?

He made his way towards the specified place, silently questioning the sanity, as well as the sense of sanitation, the HOM Professor had. His Ravenclaw mind was of course, trying to rationalize the man's behavior, but there was a part of him that was starting to suspect that things didnt quite add up for the Historian. Vickers peered though the doorway, wondering if perhaps it was all a joke, but then a packed loo with both girls and boys from his HOM class confirmed it was the real deal.

"Greetings Professor" he nodded to the other man, then watched other students sit of the floor as instructed.

Errrr whut?

Trying to keep his face from screwing up in disgust he inched his way towards the far wall, intending to stand out of the way enough to so that he would not obstruct anyone's view. Along the way he saw Mo sitting contentedly on the floor and secretly made a face at him, which simply meant you are sitting on the FLOOR of a LOO. He turned to face the Professor again, his expression now simply of cool detachment, waiting for the lesson to begin.

Poolicious 02-20-2012 01:04 PM

When Messer was in front of the HOM classroom, he noticed there's a sign. Class today will be held on the second floor, in the girls lavatory. Okay. Wait! WHAT???!!!

Girls lavatory? o______O

He re-read the sign again hoping that he misread but the sign didn't change a bit. Why they have the HOM lesson in the girls lavatory? Was this mean that Professor Scabior was the Heir of Slytherin? And isn't the girls lavatory was haunted? Nevertheless, Messer walked toward the girls lavatory. He was hesitated to enter the girls lavatory because its GIRLS lavatory and he's a boy! But he saw an older Ravenclaw boy entered the lavatory so he tailed behind him.

"Hello, Professor Scabior. How are you today?" he greeted the Professor before he went to sit down on the floor

Somnium 02-20-2012 01:25 PM

After reading the note, Taylor showed up at the mentioned place. She nodded and smiled at the Professor. "Good day." Tay looked around at the students on the bathroom floor. Taylor wrinkled up her nose at the thought of sitting on a bathroom floor despite it being dry... think of all the germs! She would of refused to sit down on the floor but she didnt want to make the professor angry at her so she forced herself to sit down, trying not to cringe.

Quick Quotes Quill 02-20-2012 01:32 PM

It seemed that all the Professors were never going to run out of ideas. All of them came up with pretty interesting and creative things for every lesson… BUT STILL… the idea for the History of Magic class was a bit much. Before walking in, Gwendolyn took a deep breath and tried to hide her new blue hair stripes as much as possible. The girl’s bathroom- Somehow that place managed to make her hate it. Yes. Because of the spell she tried to cast and it FAILED. She had to remember to ‘thank’ Lewis for the good piece of advice. Seriously… there was no way she could have done anything wrong.

‘Hello Professor’, the young Ravenclaw greeted as she walked in, again trying to hide the blue part of her hair. Come to think about it... maybe this lesson will be interesting, Gwen told herself as she looked around.

Minerva went to History of Magic only to find that it wasn't being held in the classroom. She walked to the girls bathroom and went inside. Students were already in there so it wasn't a joke. Really we have to sit on the dirty floor she thought to herself. She shrugged and found a place to sit. "Hello professor." Minerva said as she walked past him.

Oakey was told to never ever never ever ever never never go into a girls bathroom. Even if it played some kind of historical significance to magical history, but he came in anyways and sat down.

Oakey never enjoyed History of Magic the content was easy and boring. He also didn't like Professor Scabior the guy was in his opinion PURE EVIL. So it was no wonder History of Magic was his worst subject.

GinevraWeasley 02-20-2012 02:40 PM

Vlimia skipped happily towards the HoM classroom door... just to find a note stating that they were going to have a classroom in the girl's lavatory. Vlim giggled a little, thinking about how awkward it would be for some of the boys. She headed upstairs and found the place that they were going to have the lesson. An odd place to teach, wasn't it? When she got there, she found a few other students and the proffesor. Vlim found a place to sit on the tiled floor and said "Hello Proffesor Scabior." She idly wondered if they were going to learn about the Chamber of Secrets. Her parents had told her all about it. Speak parseltongue to the snake on the sink, it opens, you open another snake gate and BOOM; Chamber of Secrets. Her mother and father could both speak parseltongue, but she had never even tried. It creeped her out too much.

Hannah was on her way to her HoM classroom when she noticed a note on the door. Hannah peered at the note thinking that she may have read something wrong. She sighed it seemed like she got it right the first time. She went to the girls lavatory and looked around at the other students already there. She took a seat and groaned to herself. This was so nasty...a lesson in a girls bathroom. Gross!

PadfootAndTheWolf 02-20-2012 03:05 PM

Auggie has yet to hear about Mrytle!!! x3

After making his way to the bathroom they were told to find and sitting down awkwardly on the floor, Auggie looked around him for other people's reactions. Now the first thing that was strange to him was the fact that they were having class in a bathroom, the second thing was that it was a girls' bathroom at that, and the third and worst one was the fact they were all sitting on the floor of said bathroom which is probably infested with all sorts of germs.

After consciously reminding himself a few times to make sure not to touch anything and to keep his hands away from his face and mouth, he looked up to greet Professor Scabior. "Good morning Professor, how's Kyroh doing?" he asked excited to hear about his little friend.

Holmesian Feline 02-20-2012 03:41 PM

Gideon had made his way down to the History of Magic classroom, only to meet up with his fellow students as they spot the note on the door. Second floor girls lavatory...isn't that...Moaning Myrtle's bathroom? The connection to the former home of the basilisk?

Well it was a history class and they had explored a location of Potter's history last class. Maybe it was a theme this term. Not wanting to be late to Scabior's class to avoid point loss, Gideon hurried off to the new location. "Good day professor," he greeted politely as he spotted the man in question, however he debated sitting down on the floor.

Kimalia 02-20-2012 04:39 PM

Kimalia walked in following everyone, for once she appeared almost dazed but attentive enough to give her greeting, "Good day, Professor Scabior." How ironic that boys were going to be allowed in their private sanctuary today. Oh well, Kimalia then sat down on the floor with her legs criscrossed while leaning back slightly against her shoulders as her hands rested on the tile flooring.

Why they were going to the Loo was beyond Selina. More importantly she wanted to know why it was so bloody important that they had to go into the girl's bathroom. Selina was positive that she, well erm, used this bathroom regularly and she did not want to have class in her lavatory. But alas, it was not her choice so she half hazardously walked into the bathroom and nodded at her Professor, Hello Professor Scabior."

Beckoning Vickers over he inspected the spot on the floor beside him... there didn't seem to be anything WRONG with it... the boy could Scourgify it if he wanted to...

After reading the note left for the class, Ella headed to the girls bathroom, wondering why on earth class would be held there. She imagined that if she found the whole situation odd, the boys would be having a much more uncomfortable reaction.

She entered the bathroom and greeted the professor with a nervous smile. "Hello Professor Scabior." She then spotted an empty spot on the floor and sat down quietly, looking around for familiar faces.

Violet made her way up to the second floor washroom that was rumoured to be haunted by the ghost of someone named Moaning Myrtle. Could she be here at this moment? Violet wasn't sure and sat down on the cold cement floor. She looked around the washroom. It casted an eerie glow from the windows and, were there boys here as well? Violet tried to suppress a smile about how the boys were thinking about having a lesson in the girl's lavatory.

She smiled at the professor, who was waiting for them to start his lesson. "Hello professor Scabior. Why are we here in the girl's lavatory for the lesson?"

As Lily walked to the entrance of the HoM room, she noticed the note sending them up to the bathroom that nobody really used anymore. Quickly hustling up the stairs so she wouldn't be late, Lily arrived at the entrance to the bathroom. Why was it that we don't use this one anymore... Oh right, Myrtle... Lily said as she pushed open the door. Seeing the professor, she nodded. "Hello Professor Scabior." Lily then turned and moved to an open area to sit... on the floor in the bathroom... She was not pleased with the thought of sitting on the floor, and as she looked around to who was near her, Lily saw Taylor.

Making her way into class, Sky wondered why, exactly the professor had decided to have the class in a BATHROOM of all places. What was he thinking?! This particular bathroom was abandoned for a reason! Unless… oh no! But, there's no way he could possibly…

Sky took a seat on the floor, pretty sure she what this lesson was going to be. Oh boy…

"Hello, professor…"

Weasley174 02-20-2012 09:47 PM

"Hello Professor Scabior" Laura looked at the floor and then decided to stand, seriously did the Professor expect her too sit down on the floor, it was a bathroom floor and she had her looks to think about.

Having noted the note about going to the girl's loo, Isaac thought it a bit weird, but followed the directions heading down to the bathroom. Seeing most of the class there already, he found an empty spot on the floor and sat down, crossing his long legs and sitting there with his hands in his lap.

She stared expectantly around at the familiar bathroom, wondering if they really would be going to the infamous Chamber of Secrets this lesson, or if that was just wishful thinking.

The class seemed...welcoming today. "Morning."

"Miss Barnhill." He nodded. "Hullo"

"Miss Hollingberry." He gave her a polite nod.

And for some reason he was getting dirty looks? Scabior just stared back at the Ravenclaw. "Hello Miss Castell." He said cooly.

Oh wow.

"I suggest that you come inside before class starts Mr. Rasting, or else I'll be forced to take points from you." Scabior called out to the boy who he caught sight of, each time the door opened and someone else came inside.

"Hello Mr Katharos." Scabior looked at the boy, who looked ready to ignore his instructions. "As I said before, please take a seat on the floor." They were going to get dirty, so sitting on the floor was the least of their issues.

Greetings? Strange. That being said it seemed like another student was worried about getting an speck of dirt on their apparently amazing robes. "Mr. Vanderbilt please take a seat on the floor."

"I'm well, thank you Mr. Messer." The Hufflepuffs didn't seem to have a problem with sitting on the floor.

She would of refused to sit down on the floor but she didnt want to make the professor angry at her so she forced herself to sit down, trying not to cringe.

‘Hello Professor’, the young Ravenclaw greeted as she walked in, again trying to hide the blue part of her hair. Come to think about it... maybe this lesson will be interesting, Gwen told herself as she looked around.

Was that...blue in her hair? Scabior didn't even care. "Hello, take a seat please."

After consciously reminding himself a few times to make sure not to touch anything and to keep his hands away from his face and mouth, he looked up to greet Professor Scabior. "Good morning Professor, how's Kyroh doing?" he asked excited to hear about his little friend.

"Morning Mr. Goldstein." Scabior blinked, somewhat surprised by the question, but it did remind him of something. "He is excellent, thank you. He did ask me to give you something so, please see me after class."

Laura gave the Professor a cold hard stare, seriously she had her looks to think about, even though she was just a first year she did care about her looks even though she didn't wear make-up or things like that.

Laura leaned against the wall next to a Slytherin Boy, see she wasn't the only one who didn't want to sit down on the dirty floor, she then listened to what the Professor said. "Well this Bathroom hasn't been used for ages because this ghost likes to cry in her and so it's normally flooded." Laura was sure she had heard something about that.

UGH.

That was the first thing that run through his mind as the Professor spoke to him and told him to sit on the floor. He really did not want to and the Slytherin was about to protest when he saw the gaze that was casted towards him and a few others who refused to sit down.

Gulping slightly, Daichi let out a sigh and slided down the wall and sat on the....ground....ewww! He wrinkled his nose in disgust. He knew the floor was clean but just the thought...it made him shiver.

Hearing the question, Daichi raised an hand in the air to answer. "Professor, isn't this the bathroom where a girl died?" It was more a question than an answer but it was better than nothing right?

WhittyBitty 02-20-2012 10:27 PM

Amelia raised her hand immediately when the question was asked. "This bathroom is the entrance to the Chamber of Secrets. It's also where Moaning Myrtle died." She nodded now. She knew quite a bit about the Chamber of Secrets. Or at least she liked to think that she did.

Erindipity 02-20-2012 10:28 PM

Mortimer nodded in greeting to the professor and then bounced in his seat a bit as he raised his hand. HE HAD READ ALL ABOUT THIS PLACE! "This is where the entrance to the Chamber of Secrets is... was... IS? located," he said and then lowered his hand. HOW EXCITING! They were in MYRTLE'S BATHROOM and it was GROSS and dirty. Best. Lesson. Ever.

Mad Eye Touz 02-20-2012 10:32 PM

Sure, sure, entrance to the Chamber of Secrets, Harry Potter, and all that. But Aspen, being an avid reader, had a soft spot for the fall of one of history's best fiction writers. Aspen was seated on her knees, trying her best to keep the majority of herself off the floor, despite the historical signifigance of the room. She didn't want any history on her skirt, or skin.

One could get an infection that way.

She pondered if Mr. Scabior knew?

Anyway.... before getting too lost in thought, Aspen stood on her knees and raised her hand, "This is the last above-ground room Gilderoy Lockhart was sane in."

Holmesian Feline 02-20-2012 10:37 PM

It seemed he didn't have much choice in the matter to sit or not seeing as Professor Scabior made a note to point out to take a seat not only to himself but to a few other students as well. So with an inward sigh, Gideon obediantly took a seat on the floor, thankful at least it wasn't wet like it was known to be at times. Settling down, he was about to answer the professor's question but a few of his classmates had already answered covering much if not all of what he himself knew about the room . So in the end, Gideon simple stayed quiet for the moment.

sweetpinkpixie 02-20-2012 10:47 PM

Setting her parchment on top of her textbook so that her writing would be at least somewhat readable, Kurumi titled her parchment and jotted down a few notes as students answered before raising her own hand to answer. "Myrtle, who others have already mentioned, still....resides here.," she said. She knew how sensitive this particular ghost was...so haunting may cause her to wail or something. There was a history of this, exorcism included, but Professor Scabior most certainly did not look like he wanted long explanations at the moment.

Sit on the floor? But but but its the floor. And they're in the loo. To him, that makes it exponentially more disgusting save having to eat lunch in the toilet cubicle.

Dejectedly the Ravenclaw inched his way back towards where the rest of the students were, quickly scourgifying the spot next to Mo (and maybe Mo himself) before he settled down. But it was obvious on his face that what they were doing was ICKY. And that he may have been holding his breath so that he wouldnt have to breathe the toilet AIR.

Then the first question was asked, and now he had to choose between holding his breath and answering it. Urgh, curse his Ravenclaw propensity for wanting to answer everything "It where the entrance to the Chamber of Secrets is located. This is also the place where Hermione Granger was brewing her Polyjuice potion to help Harry Potter and Ron Weasley infiltrate the Slytherin Common Room."

TSnitch 02-20-2012 10:58 PM

As much as he didn't like history, Grayson was highly interested in the History of Hogwarts. He sat listening to the question and answers. As with anything in history, the story was rich and this one held Graysons attention. He jotted down the question and made a side note to do a little bit of reading after class or on the weekend.

And then, he proceeded to ask a question to which she knew the answer. For a change. Evelyn raised her hand and said, "Well, this is where the entrance to the Chamber of Secrets is located..isn't it?"

Scabior looked around. The lavatory looked full, which meant he had waited long enough. He gazed at the few people who had decided not to sit down before. Class was starting, and that meant one thing, if they didn't sit down right now, points would be taken. "Last lesson we looked at an important location in Hogwarts history, the Black Lake."

"Now this room is also an important location in Hogwarts history, can you lot tell me anything about this lavatory?"

occ: please keep your answers to this question SIMPLE, I don't want too much detail, too much detail means I don't reply

"That's good to hear." He said contently as he settled in to his spot on the floor but before the matter of Professor Scabior's son was finished the man said that the young boy had wanted to give Auggie something. That was awesome! "Oh alright Professor I will be here." He wondered what it could be.

Hmm...what was so important about this bathroom? August looked around the place for any specific markings or perhaps a shrine of some sort which would give away the answer to the Gryffindor. He had never heard anything about a bathroom, at least nothing he remembered.

"Is it the cleanest or newest bathroom in the Castle?" like a add-on. Who knew...wait WHAAAA? A girl died in here!? There's some chamber hidden in this place?! August had a look of horro on his face as he looked around at the other students who had given these answers.

natethegreat 02-20-2012 11:52 PM

Nate raised his hand and said "Professor this is were Harry and Ron found the entrance to the chamber of secrets were the found a basilisk. This is also home to one of the many hogwarts school ghosts. I believe people call her moaning myrtle."

"Well that is a reason this washroom is deemed important, yes." Good guess? Or perhaps she had actually opened a book?

Laura leaned against the wall next to a Slytherin Boy, see she wasn't the only one who didn't want to sit down on the dirty floor, she then listened to what the Professor said. "Well this Bathroom hasn't been used for ages because this ghost likes to cry in her and so it's normally flooded." Laura was sure she had heard something about that.

He looked around. "This bathroom is still very much used. If it wasn't it would have had a sign at the front. Just because it is flooded a lot does not mean it is not used." Oh, and also. "Five points from Hufflepuff for not taking a seat on the floor. Either you sit down, or you get out." Simple.

"Correct, a girl did die here."A girl who was now a Hogwarts ghost.

"Correct." Both answers were said before, but Scabior was in a good mood, and technically she was right.

Anyway.... before getting too lost in thought, Aspen stood on her knees and raised her hand, "This is the last above-ground room Gilderoy Lockhart was sane in."

You are correct of course Miss Odessa. This lavatory was the last place above ground, that witnessed a completely sane Gilderoy Lockhart."

He nodded. "That is something to note as well. The girl who died, still resides here."

Well at least the boy had made up for the fact that he hadn't initially listened to orders by his answer. "Good on you for mentioned the Polyjuice potion."

Scabior pulled out his wand and began to write a list of everyone's answers in mid air. Once he was finished the most basic answers levitated beside him.

- Enterance to the Chamber of Secrets
- Where a girl named Myrtle died
- Last place were Gilderoy Lockhart was seen sane
- Polyjuice potion made by Harry Potter and friends

"As you can see-" He jabbed his thumb at the list. "-There are loads of reasons as to why, this specific lavatory is important to Hogwarts history. All of which, relate back to the Chamber of Secrets. To make things simple, can you guys explain what the chamber is? Not what is inside it, or who made it, or any of that but actually what the Chamber of Secrets is. Explain in the most basic form." Alyssa raised her hand and answered. "Professor basically it was cavern underground in with a series of tunnels leading to it."

August's cheeks flushed a light shade of pink and he leaned his head down for a moment to hide it from the other kids, who seemed to have known that the Chamber of Secrets's entrance was in a girls' bathroom. He knew about the stupid Chamber he just didn't remember where the entrance was.

What did it look like? Auggie looked at Professor Scabior and raised his hand, determined to redeem himself. "Sir, the Chamber is a vast open cave-like Chamber with smooth stone walls and there is alot of water run-off in it's channels."

Laura stared at the Professor, now she had a choice did she want to learn or did she want to leave, she decide on the first one and slowly sat down on the floor, though this wasn't going to be the end of it, she'd get her own back on the Professor one day, though of course she wasn't going to tell the Professor that.

"Professor the chamber of secrets is a secret chamber created by Mr Slytherin, he decided to build it after getting in a fight with the other three creaters of Hogwarts." Laura decided to answer the question though she was still annoyed.

WhittyBitty 02-21-2012 12:24 AM

Amelia tried to think of a simple answer to this question. She raised her hand. "It's basically tunnels and a cavern that are located under the Great Lake." She nodded now.

Annabelle Lecium wrote down the notes the professor wrote on the board. She remembered her grandma telling her about what Harry Potter did back in 1993. It seemed pretty cool then. "Professor isn't the chamber an underground tunnel with a lot of tunnels leading to dead ends and then the tunnels all lead eventually back to the entrance?"

natethegreat 02-21-2012 12:30 AM

Nate raised his hand and said "Professor isn't it a network of tunnels. An aqueduct in other words." That's basically what it was. I mean other then it's a chamber underneath the girls bathroom.

sweetpinkpixie 02-21-2012 12:32 AM

Jotting down notes as Professor Scabior spoke, Kurumi waited a moment before answering his question and...flinched when it became clear that some people had not been listening to him. Great. Just put the HEIR OF SLYTHERIN in a bad mood why don't you...They were all going to become ghosts and haunt the girls' bathroom now. Thanks.

Slowly, Kurumi raised her hand again. No upsetting the scary man now. "The Chamber of Secrets is a really REALLY big room or space located under the dungeons of Hogwarts." He said he wanted basic and that was about as basic as she could get.

laurange 02-21-2012 01:08 AM

Raising her hand, Elise glared at the disgusting bathroom floor. Ewwwww.....

What the chamber thingy was? Well, it wasn't so secret now, was it? "They say that Salazar Slytherin built a system of tunnels under the school to get revenge on the other founders after a fight, Professor." How much of that was true, she wasn't sure.

And she lowered her hand.

lazykitty 02-21-2012 01:10 AM

Sky bit down the sarcastic response she wanted to give and just simply gave the most simple answer she could. "It's a large chamber underground." And she hoped her first impression had been wrong and they wouldn't be going down there…

Erindipity 02-21-2012 01:13 AM

Mortimer nodded his head and gave Vickers the STINK EYE for getting near him with that cleaning spell. There was NOTHING wrong with the floor of this lavatory. He was going to offend Myrtle if she showed up. Mhm. But that ONE GIRL who spoke of Gilderoy Lockhart... Mortimer looked at her and smiled. Miss Odessa apparently. She was INTERESTING. Very so. Mo liked the way her brain worked. Mhm.

Raising his hand once more he said, "It's a big hidden room under this lavatory that has lots of tunnels and things that venture off under the school." Simple answer. Yep.

What is the Chamber of Secrets in its most basic form? "Uhm... its a hidden room located deep under the dungeons of Hogwarts. " He cant get anymore basic than that right?

Deezerz 02-21-2012 01:27 AM

Kennedy was intrigued by this subject. Of course he was familiar with the subject since he did practically read all the books on Salazar Slytherin or anything that involved his name. He pondered on the question and then raised his hand.

"The Chamber of Secrets is an assembly of tunnels," he said. That was simple enough, right? Right. So...why did he feel that his answer lacked something? Eh.

Lady of Light 02-21-2012 01:35 AM

GLARE. Meet him after class? Great. Evelyn wasn't looking forward to the meeting at all. She just hoped she didn't lose any more points. Twenty was enough for the moment.

Err anyway..back to his question. Evelyn still didn't know a lot about the school but she proceeded to raise her hand and said, "Well, the chamber is located under the dungeons of the school." He just wanted the basic answer right? That's all she knew anyway.

Mad Eye Touz 02-21-2012 02:07 AM

Aspen rested her rear back onto her feet as she thought about his next question. He had said, Explain in the most basic form, so Aspen intended to do JUST that. How did you describe a series of ancient underground tunnels in the most simplistic form? Hmm.

She raised her hand, "Basically, it's a secret chamber that also housed secrets."

Chamber of Secrets = secret chamber full of secrets.

Aspen grinned at her victorious answer and put her hand down. MOST basic.

Somnium 02-21-2012 02:11 AM

Taylor rolled her eyes at the question and raised her hand, "Professor it is an underground stone maze-like chamber with tunnels going off in different directions." She stopped talking and glanced down at her nails.

PhoenixWizard 02-21-2012 02:16 AM

Angelina wondered how she could word this. After she thought about it for a while she raised her hand and said, "Professor the Chamber of Secrets is a big room as a chamber with lots of tunnels around it." Yep, that was the way she would explain it without going into history about who made it, what is inside it and what not.

Lily took out her notebook to briefly take some notes so that she would remember all of the information. This professor got down to business and moved quickly. On to the next question. Lily raised her hand before answering. "It's kinda like a cave." He wanted basic, right... In reality, Lily knew that the chamber was a cave and had tunnels, and she even knew that it had water, but he had wanted a basic description of the chamber, and that's what Lily gave as her answer.

2111jen 02-21-2012 02:28 AM

Jen raised her hand
"The chamber is a big underground hole with lots of tunnels" she wasn't being sarcastic just explainging it in the best short way possible.

Uncle Moose 02-21-2012 03:22 AM

Oakey raised his hand. Professor the Chamber of Secrets is a network of tunnels that aren't very secretive anymore. If the place was supposed to be call the Chamber of Secrets why did everyone know about it. They need to change the name of this chamber unless the place housed secrets. In that case... Professor I take back the last thing I said. I guess it's more than just the tunnels that were a secret?

Bazinga 02-21-2012 03:33 AM

Not getting a chance to answer the first question Minerva put her hand up as quickly as she could for the next question. "Professor the chamber is a bunch of man made or in this case wizard made tunnels."

Anna Banana 02-21-2012 04:29 AM

A class on the history of the bathroom. Well now. This was proving to be interesting so far. So now Scabbers wanted to know what the Chamber of Secrets was--but not what was inside of it (therefore eliminating the dead basilisk and the tunnels), who made it (eliminating Slytherin), or 'any of that' (eliminating who knew what).

You are not being very specific Scabs!

So taking out dead basilisk, tunnels, Slytherin, and whatever 'any of that' was', Sierra was only left with, "It's a formerly secret hallway under the dungeons," she said, raising her hand. Basic enough, hmm?

James_Potter 02-21-2012 04:51 AM

William, who had previously been writing down everything Professor Scabior had been saying, as well as his peers' answers, was getting tired of writing. Just as he had lowered his quill, he decided to raise his hand, which seldom ever happened.
"Professor," he said before coughing. "Wouldn't the Chamber of Secrets be just a gigantic system of pipes with large caverns included? The Basilisk was able to attack the students way back in 1993 because it could travel through the plumbing. And – ACHOO!" the poor second year was cut off by a violent series of sneezes. No matter where he went, he couldn't evade some sort of allergy. Deciding he had said enough, he remained silent and waited for the Professor to continue.

pundantic 02-21-2012 04:57 AM

Selina rose her hand to answer her Professor's question about what the Chamber of Secrets was and still, in a way, is. It never went away, it was still there architecturely. It was just not used for what it once was, it sat in the underground workings of Hogwarts now as a testament to what it once was. And thank Merlin it was no longer used for the purposes it once was used for, "Sir it was a secret liar built by Salazar Slytherin to conceal his basilisk."

Wait. So it was true that there was a ghost in this bathroom? Glenn looked over her shoulder almost comically to see if it - she - was there. She was one girl who had watched one too many horror films in her lifetime. Despite seeing her house ghost around, she really hadn't seen any on the others all too much. When she used the bathroom up here, she assumed the snivelling was the mucked up pipes or something.

"Well - It's a chamber, right? With lots of pipes because it's entrance leads from the bathroom?"

slytherus 02-21-2012 07:40 AM

Of all the places in this massive castle, why the lavatory? It's girls lavatory, for Merlin's good! G.I.R.L.S! What in the world was this Chamber of Secrets Scabior was talking about anyway? There wasn't any entrance to any chambers in there other than the cubicles. "A chamber that holds... Many secrets??" Duhh?? It was obvious enough.

Jessiqua 02-21-2012 09:38 AM

Zhenya didn't really understand the chamber of secrets, because she had only heard about it in context of who made it and what it housed, rather than what it was. She was impressed by this teacher.

She raised her hand and decided to give a plain basic answer, "Professor it is a secret area underneath us here that people didn't know about."

Tazzie 02-21-2012 10:11 AM

Hmmm..let's see, she knew about the Chamber of Secrets and who resides there and those things that happened there back in the time of the great Harry Potter. And as questions after questions were asked by Professor Scabior, she busied herself with listening to the answers given by her classmates which sounded almost the same. The only difference were how they delivered the idea. Beezus shrugged and continued on just listening. No need to add more when you were just gonna say the same thing right?

Jezabel Black 02-21-2012 11:06 AM

Jez shrugged at the question. Most basic form? "It's a chamber with a secret," she said, her hand raised, trying to hide the smile that wanted to tug at her lips. Pointing out the obvious much? Although that secret wasn't so 'secret' anymore. Her hopes of actually entering the chamber were rising considerably.

OH!

The scary professor had seen him. And had invited him inside. Okay, here we go then. He really felt as if he had needed a voiced invitation to enter this room. Maybe he was a vampire! :O Plus he REALLY didn't want to lose points. Even if this still was a girls' bathroom.

Nodding more to himself than the professor, Lewis finally entered the bathroom. His eyes immediately started to dart around anxiously but nothing happened. No, it looked like a very normal bathroom. Nothing was going to attack him for entering it seemed. Not right now anyway.

Sitting on the floor - which was a little bit wet to be honest - like the professor had told them too, Lewis pulled out a piece of parchment and his quill to take notes as his classmates answered the first question. He still wasn't sure if he dared saying anything to the intimidating professor.

So instead he just copied down what he wrote in mid-air, a little amused by the whole Lockhart part. It WAS true though so it was probably important. What the Chamber of Secrets was? In the most basic form? He could do that, right? That wasn't too hard? Raising his hand hesitantly, Lewis answered, "Well, Sir, it's a chamber. Under the dungeons. Created by Salazar Slytherin." Was that basic enough?

"Professor," he said before coughing. "Wouldn't the Chamber of Secrets be just a gigantic system of pipes with large caverns included? Listening to all the other answers, Lewis made a point of writing EVERYTHING down. So as it were he was of course also paying attention to a young Ravenclaw when he started to say something...which he however never got to finish seeing as he had to sneeze.

And quite loudly too. And repeatedly "Bless you." Lewis replied before he could stop himself, as he still waited expectantly for the boy to finish his sentence.

As the Professor wrote the lists of everyone's answers in mid air, Messer oulled out his notebook from his bag and copied it. He looked down to his writing and noticed that its a bit messy. Well, its rather difficult writing without a desk. When the Professor started speaking again, Messer's gaze went toward the Professor.

What the chamber is? The young badger raised his hand up in the air "Umm..Its a big room inside Hogwarts, Sir. And its hidden under under the dungeons of Hogwarts."

Kimalia 02-21-2012 04:24 PM

Raising her hand, "It's like a tomb basically, and the reasoning behind the "Secrets" in it's namesake is because not many were aware of its hidden depths." Hopefully that was enough.

Ella copied down the list of answers that seemed to be floating mid-air. When she finished, she raised her hand to answer the next question that was asked. "Professor, the Chamber of secrets is a large room with many tunnels leading to and away from it." She hoped that made sense.

What did it look like? Auggie looked at Professor Scabior and raised his hand, determined to redeem himself. "Sir, the Chamber is a vast open cave-like Chamber with smooth stone walls and there is alot of water run-off in it's channels."

"Well that certain is what a chamber is. So...since the Chamber of Secrets is a chamber you are correct." Gold stars for you.

"Professor the chamber of secrets is a secret chamber created by Mr Slytherin, he decided to build it after getting in a fight with the other three creaters of Hogwarts." Laura decided to answer the question though she was still annoyed.

Oh, amazing. The Hufflepuff finally decided that she attended school to learn and listening to professors. Amazing. He simply ignored her answer though. It was not simple at all.

"Aqueduct. Tunnel. Two different things. Aqueducts are known as water bridges for a reason." The Chamber was called a chamber and not bridge of water for a reason.

Slowly, Kurumi raised her hand again. No upsetting the scary man now. "The Chamber of Secrets is a really REALLY big room or space located under the dungeons of Hogwarts." He said he wanted basic and that was about as basic as she could get.

"The main chamber, right." He nodded. "Everything else...the tunnels...nothing really." The creator had built his own mini labyrinth when it came to the tunnels.

What the chamber thingy was? Well, it wasn't so secret now, was it? "They say that Salazar Slytherin built a system of tunnels under the school to get revenge on the other founders after a fight, Professor." How much of that was true, she wasn't sure.

And she lowered her hand.

He sighed. "Your answer does not tell me what the chamber is which is what I asked for. I didn't ask for anything else."

"It's not a Hallway, it's a Chamber." Scabior smirked. See why he has to ask such simple questions?

So instead he just copied down what he wrote in mid-air, a little amused by the whole Lockhart part. It WAS true though so it was probably important. What the Chamber of Secrets was? Holding class in a washroom did not help his laziness, especially when he didn't have a desk to lean against. Scabior sighed but luckily for the students that didn't affect his mood too much.

"So, as many if not all of you said, a chamber is underneath the school, it's a big room that has a bunch of tunnels around it. This specific chamber holds secrets." Scary. And basic, which he didn't mind at all. "Does anyone know who created the chamber, and why? And if you don't know-" He looked around down at the students. "-what do you think was the purpose in surrounding the chamber with tunnels and dead ends?"

Right. Now people could tell him who created it.

Gideon listened to his classmates answer Professor Scabior's question about the chamber. Some had even gone beyond what was being asked, but the fifth year hadn't seen anything wrong with it. However when the professor moved on it was clear the man had either not listened or heard what had already been said or was simply interested in hearing all over again. So he decided to try his hand at answering and so raised his hand to speak.

"It was created by Salazar Slytherin," he replied before pausing to collect what he thought on the other aspect of the question. "And maybe the reason for the tunnels and dead ends was for misdirection and to get people lost unless they were cunning enough to get past it all and prove themselves."

Chamber. Hallway. Same thing really. Booo, Scabior.

"It was created by Salazar Slytherin," Sierra said, raising her hand. She said her house's founder's name with pride, as if he'd been the greatest thing since...errr, was sliced bread even invented when he was alive? Anyway...

"...and he created it, so he could house a basilisk in there that would rid the school of all the Muggleborns," she added. She didn't say this part with as much pride, though. The Greingoth's held so such opinion of Muggles. They were neutral. Switzerland, if you will.

She'd answer that last question, too, because she had a few ideas, but the way it was worded seemed like it was meant only for those who didn't know the answers to the first two questions.

Lady of Light 02-21-2012 10:49 PM

Evelyn looked around her, a little nervous. Class in a haunted bathroom was definitely not making her feel comfortable.

Her attention was back on the professor, when he proceeded to ask the next question. Well..she wasn't sure about the answer but she decided to answer the question. Evelyn raised her hand. "Um. Professor, the chamber was created by Salazar Slytherin. He apparently wasn't happy with the acceptance of muggleborns at Hogwarts and so he created a chamber that housed a basilisk..to get rid of the muggleborns." Stupid man. So evil and mean. "Uh..is that right?" She was happy that she got a little bit of reading done before attending class. Evelyn was really proud of herself.

Williams face flushed red with chagrin after Professor Scabior's rude response to his answer. He sat there, silent and angry, and decided to not answer the easy question Scabior had asked in an attempt to evade ridicule once more. Instead, he crossed his arms and looked down at his shoes. He didn't like having class in the lavatory. But moments later he changed his mind. He knew the answers to what Scabior had just asked. His hand rose into the air and he began talking.
"The Chamber was created after Salazar Slytherin got in a dispute with Godric Gryffindor. He didn't approve of having muggleborns get an education at Hogwarts. He wanted only those of pure blood to be taught, for he thought they were the ones truly deserving of magical education. The chamber was created to house the Basilisk, with the intent that his heir would utilize the chamber and the beast within to purge Hogwarts of all those deemed unworthy of magical education." He purposely didn't answer the last question, because he knew whatever he'd say would just end up in humiliation. He lowered his hand and resumed looking at the ground.

Laura stared at the Professor, had he just ignored her, oh he was going on the list of worst Professor, right at the top, he'd be going ahead of the evil Nurse, oh this Question was simple, Laura felt like yawning but decided again it, she didn't want to lose anymore points. . "Mr Slytherin created it because he was bored with the other people trying to let muggles into the school." Laura wasn't sure if the Professor would listen but she'd answer anyway.

FireboltAvis88 02-21-2012 11:05 PM

Alyssa pondered on the question before raising her hand to answer,"Professor, they built tunnels and dead ends to confuse people so that it would be harder for them to discover the chamber. It was meant to be a secret place for Salazar Slytherin and he didn't want the other founders or anyone else finding it. So creating a maze of tunnels and dead ends would definitely create confusion and only the determined or the fool hardy would eventually find it."

The tips of Lily's ears turned pink as the professor made a face at her answer. Why did this teacher have to be so brunt and rude about responding to people's answers?... Next question... Lily raised her hand to answer. "Salazar Slytherin created the chamber as a place to house his 'monster' that would rid the school of those that he felt were unworthy to study magic, or muggleborns." Lily replied as a chill went down her back. She hated the thought that someone had attempted to get rid of all muggleborns at Hogwarts. At least now, the monster was dead...

Bazinga 02-21-2012 11:54 PM

Minerva put her hand up "Professor Mr.Slytherin made the chamber and it had many tunnels and dead ends so that no one would be able to find it."

WhittyBitty 02-22-2012 12:07 AM

Ooh, another question that Amelia found easy to answer. She wasliking this lesson so far even if it was all stuff she knew. She was curious to see how things here would progress.

She raised her hand now. "The chamber was created by Salazar Slytherin. He didn't really approve of the other founders accepting Muggleborns into the school, so he made it to house a Basilisk. The Basilisk was to rid the school of Muggleborns."

DuckyLinJi 02-22-2012 12:08 AM

Daichi scratched his knee as he sat crossed legged on the floor...of a girls bathroom. Honestly, he still wondered WHY they had to sit on the floor? Was the Professor sitting? nooo... so why should they?! His hand stopped scratching his knee when the itch was gone and held his arm up to answer the question.

"The almighty...i mean Great... i mean Salazar Slytherin made the chamber of secrets, sir" He said as his eyes started to twinkle and his upper body swayed a bit back and forth in excitement.

He had read about it in the school book before and he was fascinated that his house founder had such a secret room under the castle and not many had found it in history. "I think he made the dead ends and tunnels to mislead anyone who would enter. I think most people would give up after some time and...there was something about a monster but" he bit his lip as he tried to recall what he had read but nothing came up, unless his mind went towards the duck pond like it did now . Honestly why wasn't Mr.Murdoch letting him take care of those cute ducky ducks.. ."hehehe" he giggled to himself as he imagined a duck in the bathroom right now.

OH! right class! .....what was he talking about again? O_o

TakemetotheBurrow 02-22-2012 12:13 AM

Ella wasn't entirely sure who had come up with the chamber but felt she had a good idea why it was constructed the way it was."Professor, I don't know who created the chamber but I think there were so many tunnels and dead ends to firstly, keep people from finding the secrets hidden there and secondly, prevent them from finding their way out again if they did uncover a secret."

sweetpinkpixie 02-22-2012 12:13 AM

Seeing as everyone had pretty much answered the first bit about Salazar Slytherin creating, or at least designing, the Chamber of Secrets, Kurumi decided to skip over that question and focus on the latter. Why all the tunnels and and everything. Kurumi wasn't too sure that she was convinced that the reason for all the tunnels and stuff were to make it difficult to find the actual chamber. Slowly, she raised her hand. "I think there must have been more of a reason for all the tunnels and dead ends than just to make the chamber hard to find. Once you found the entrance, you have to be able to speak Parseltongue to get in and that is a very rare gift." She paused for just a moment. Of course, to keep those who COULD speak the language of snakes from getting in could be part of it. "Since the Chamber of Secrets was home to a basilisk, perhaps Salazar Slytherin built these as a means for the basilisk to get around and could use the dead ends as something to slither up to reach the pipes in the ceiling." The basilisk had been recorded in history as using pipes to get around.
