Professor All done. Acceptable?? Alyssa ran over to the Professor and noticed a box hidden behind him. She looked at him and then decided that she would take a risk and go search in the box. "Excuse Professor, I know that chances are probably slim that there's anything in there but I'm going to look anyway." Alyssa dived into the box and to her amazement she saw something dark inside it. Was it?....Alyssa quickly grabbed it and pulled it out. YES!! It was the Sorting Hat. As she lifted it out of the box, she felt that like there was something inside it. She knelt down on the ground and looked inside. "OH MERLIN!! It's a plastic Gryffindor sword." "Oakey, Violet. Get over here. I think that we've found everything. But just to be sure I'm going to check everything we've found off our list." Text Cut: Things to find "YES!! WE DID IT." Alyssa smiled over at her group mates. "Professor is our find acceptable?" Alyssa looked up to ask the Professor who was still standing right next to her. |
Ella had looked everywhere and was still coming up short on items. Decided she wanted to take another look at the Slythern statue, she approached, wand shining at the face. There had to be other items in or around the statue, there just had to be. She decided the best approach would be to shine her wand into each and every crevice, looking for items. First stop, the eyes. Ella shined her light into the first eye, coming up empty. She sighed. Wondering if she was on the right track. Then, she moved her wand over to the other eye and was rewarded. Reaching in, Ella was able to remove a pair of glasses. "I knew it!" she exclaimed!" She continued to move her wand around the face, eager to find the last few items she needed. As she moved her light around, she spotted something on top of slythern's head. What was that? She used her wand to swipe at the object and it fell to the ground in front of her feet. Stooping down to pick it up, Ella found a wand. "Seriously?!" She said aloud, not believing her luck. How had she missed these items before? She cast the thought aside and checked her list. Only an item to go... Quote:

Text Cut: List Sierra sighed to herself as she looked down at her nearly empty bag. Moaning Myrtle's glasses. That's all she had in there. One-eighth of what she needed. Blah... She dodged a few Puffers who were standing near her and began walking a few feet away. Something else had to be in here somewhere. But where? That was the question. Assignments like this annoyed her, because she couldn't just go up to her dorm room, hurry up and get the assignment done, and be done with it. No. This one took actual effort, which was normally not something she minded, but it make her irritable that she only had one item. She wandered over closer to Scabior, noting the box behind him. Hmm. Maybe she'd luck out and something would just be right inside of it. She approached the box then looked up at Scabior. He didn't seem to be bothered by the fact that she was about to rummage through the box, so Sierra went for it. She pulled away the side of the box, and--a sorting hat! Sierra grabbed it before anyone else could then walked away, a grin on her face. |
Amelia thought that it was worth a try searching for the Sorting Hat by the water as well, so she kept to it... for a bit. After a while she was tired of peering it no the water, so she decided that she was just going to risk it not being there. It might be in the mouth of a snake statue. So she headed back over to where the snake heads were and started checking in them again. Once she was sure that she found a box with something new in it, but it turned out to contain the snake fangs she already had one of. On to the other heads. When she had searched them all, she sighed loudly. She honestly had no idea where to look now. Making her way over to Scabior, she thought that she could tell him that she had found most of her items. Even if she hated quitting. But what was that by his leg? With a squeal she went behind her Professor and picked up a box. She opened it and saw the Sorting Hat. She knew what she needed to do now. Quote:

Yup, we're done alright Quote:

After crossing her fingers mentally, Amelia knew that there was only one thing left for her to do now. As long as she knew about the Chamber of Secrets and the story of Harry Potter defeating the Basilisk, she knew that the Sword of Gryffindor had come to him in the time of his need through the Sorting Hat. And if Scabior wanted to be accurate... the Sword would be inside this hat. Pulling the Sorting hat out of its box, she reached inside and pulled out the Sword of Gryffindor. She had found every item on the list by herself! "Professor!! I found everything!" she said as she crossed the last thing off. Quote:

Only one item left to find. Daichi had decided he let his found items in a corner in the shadows with the note on top. He stood up with the sword at his back and began to walk around. So far he had checked the corners , water, Slytherin's head and had gotten two items from Scabior. The only places he hasn't checked yet where the snakes along side the room. He knew he could have easily search there before but he was a little..uhm..scared of the snakes. Secretly, Daichi had hoped the items would be found somewhere NOT near those snakes but it seemed like he still had to check those ..creepy...snakes. Standing in front of one closest to the door (so that he could run and hide behind the Professor IF the snake statue began to move) and had to look up to check on it. He might be a Slytherin himself but snakes were pretty scary. There had lived a Basilisk here right? What..what if one of those statues suddenly woke up and and and...O__O Breathe Daichi Breeeathe Letting out a deep breathe, Daichi nodded his head once as to assure himself that nothing could go wrong with these snakes. They are statues for Merlin's Sake! He grabbed the mouth of one of the snakes and pushed himself up to check inside. After a few seconds of standing on his toes he let go. He hadn't find anything in this one. Daichi walked to the statue next to the one he was standing and did the same thing as with the first one. Standing on his toes, he found nothing inside and with a groan he got back firmly on his feet. He had hoped there would be something inside so that he could get away from those things. But it seemed that his luck wasn't on his side for the third and fourth try either and so he proceeded to walk to the snake statues on the other side of the room. Pushing himself up a little bit, he saw something white inside of the mouth. Gulping, Daichi closed his eyes tightly and reached his arm inside. 'Please don't snap shut, please don't snap shut...i love this arm..' he thought as his fingers touched something hard. He took it out and saw it were the fake fang he had been finding. "Professor!!! I found every item on the liiiist~!" he shouted enthusiastically and quickly ran towards his other items in the shadows of the corner at the back of the room. He picked them all up and walked with them towards the Professor. "Look!" he said, eyes twinkling as he held the items in front of his face. SPOILER!!: List |
Ella only had one item left to find and she had a gut feeling that the cat was somewhere near or in the statue she was currently at. She had already shined her wand in the eyes and on the head so that only left the nose and mouth. She checked the nose, wrinkling her own in the process, and came up empty handed. She felt a twinge of disappointment but decided to check the mouth. Slowly, she pointed her wand into the mouth, reaching with her other arm to feel around inside the large space. Suddenly, her fingers brushed up against something. It felt like another box. "This is it!" Ella said aloud, pulling the item out. Sure enough, Ella opened the box and there was the cat. She jumped up excitedly, waving it in the air. "Professor, I'm done too!" she called out happily. |

Text Cut: List Sierra was vaguely aware of a boy's voice, but what she wasn't aware of is that the boy was talking to her. A few seconds passed by, and then she finally looked up and saw him looking toward her. "Oh, ...Hades," he said. She knew his name, of course, because he was a Slytherin. Which meant that she was actually nice to him. He was her own kind. "I didn't realize you were talking to me." She held up the sorting hat she'd just picked up. "The sorting hat," she said, as if that wasn't obvious, "and a pair of Moaning Myrtle's glasses." Just then, she tilted the hat a certain way and something fell out, making a soft clinking noise against the floor. Plastic, it seemed like from the sound of the fall. Looking down, Sierra noticed a little plastic sword at her feet. "...and now a sword." Despite the fact that Hades was a Slytherin, Sierra still made a quick grab for the sword. They hadn't paired up yet, and may not at all, so for now, they were technically competing against one another. |

"Umm I think it did." he hoped to Merlin it did because he wasn't really sure what was left to be found. The Gryffindor reached into jeans pocket and was glad to find out that his list was not entirely soaked. "It did, awesome. We now need the snake fangs, Sorting Hat, and Gryffindor sword." he said noticing with a grin that she ahd just gotten the snakeskin for each of them. "I say we go and find the fangs first. Where do you think they would be?" he said placing his wrung out robes back on and looking around the Chamber as if expecting for them to jump right out and bite them. SPOILER!!: the list - now very difficult to read because of running ink |

Not the point. They were not down here to swim...even if it WAS cool to think about how the waters they had just plunged into had once been used by the basilisk itself. Well, probably not considering that the water was flowing thanks to the plumbing, so new water was always coming and going...Over thinking, right, time to go back and look for stuff. "Oh good," she chirped, holding up her list beside his to compare. "Oh, that says a fake snake fang? Merlin, my list looks like it says blank cake hang...which really make no sense." Kurumi tapped her lower lip as she thought about where that could possibly be. They had already exhausted the area around Slytherin's head and even gone INSIDE it, so she knew that it wasn't there. Going back into the water didn't really sound appealing either, so that was out. "We haven't searched the area towards the entrance," she said after a few moments. "Or any of these snake statues. There is bound to be something inside one of those..." She then looked towards Professor Scabior. "And...I wouldn't put it past Professor Scabior to actually have one of these items ON him. In his pocket or something." Because the man was tricky like that. Shoes making squishy sounds as she stepped, Kurumi walked towards one of the snake statues and sort of just stared at it. Was she supposed to stick her hand in there? They weren't charmed to like...come to life or anything, were they? SPOILER!!: the list - now very difficult to read because of running ink |

Scabior might have something? "Wait, you think he would do that?" August thought back to the previous term when he had messed them all up and tricked them in the apple-basket lesson. "Yeah I guess he would. We will have to go bother him when we get down to the last item or whatever." But Kurumi had already began to stare at the snake statues. "Kurumi, you can't just look at them, start looking inside. They can't hurt you, I'm sure." He wasn't sure, and refused to stick his hand in them. Instead he looked around the floor underneath them. |

Okay...stopping. She was going to give herself nightmares. Focusing her attention back on the snakes, Kurumi watched as August searched around the base. Nope...she was pretty sure that there wasn't going to be anything down there. "I think...we have to look IN their mouths," she mumbled nervously, pointing at the one closest to her. "Fangs are, after all, inside their mouths...." Swallowing hard, Kurumi slowly inserted her trembling hand into its mouth and waited for the worst. She even shut her eyes tight to mentally prepare herself when...nothing happened. Well, that was a relief. Still... Kurumi noticed that August was just as nervous about sticking his hand in there, and Kurumi SHOULD have felt bad about doing this, but it was a reflection of their brother-sister relationship. Her hand gripped around one of the fangs which suddenly came loose. Oh? YAY! Fake fang! But them, she scrunched her face up and... "AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!" You know, pretending that the snake head had chomped down on her arm sort of scream. |
Nerida was still ontop of Slytherin's head thinking about where the old diary could be. She looked down at the water some parts were dark, some were lightish...She deicided it was time to get wet and search the water. She put her foot on Slytherin's nose trying to make sure she didnt slip and fall, if she did that would be embarissing... As she put her hand on Slytherin's eye her foot slipped off of the nose and she fell into the water...Standing up dripping water she started walking to the edge of the water, when she tripped and fell. Feeling for what tripped her she picked up a black book, this must be the old diary. She got out of the water and said Got them all professor! SPOILER!!: List |

"Oh you think so?" he said in a tone of faked suprise as he took a sudden interest in re-tieing his shoes. For some reason the boy was second guessing the notion of sticking a hand in the snake head when he had jumped head first into the giant head of Salazar Slytherin. "WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!? KURUMI!" She was being bitten?! Where was Professor Scabior? He knew coming down here was a bad idea. Auggie had stumbled backwards and shut his eyes tight before peaking out and seeing a fake snake fang in her hand. Now he felt embarrassed. "That was NOT funny." he said trying to keep from smiling as he looked at the completely ok Prefect as he reached in and took a fake fang for himself. SPOILER!!: the list |
He must have been imagining things on the diary, nothing there where his finger rubbed against the cover to inspect it. Not that Gideon could blame himself or his eyes since the shadowy light wasn't that bright. Time to move on he supposed, stepping out of the puddle and on to dry stone, or at least mostly dry stone. Slowly waving his wand in front of him again, the Gryffindor started walking again, making his way down the one section of the Chamber. It wasn't until it opened up a bit more then he noticed more of his classmates around. And that most had apparently gotten further ahead on the task at hand then he had. Guess I should hurry it up. Gideon glanced in the direction he had last seen Professor Scabior wondering if he was still counting down but then brushed it aside. Task at hand first. He came beside a row of snake statues all with open mouths looking as if they were poised ready to strike at any passing intruder. Maybe that had been the purpose when Slytherin had designed the Chamber of Secrets all those years before, though maybe they held another purpose nowadays. Like maybe they were hiding something, the open shadowy spaces certainly posing an interesting selection of places to hide stuff. Slipping the diary into his pocket for safe keeping with his list stuck inside, he walked up to the first one. He then lit the space up the best he could with the lit tip of his wand in one hand while the other searched half-blindly within the mouth of hte statue. Nope...nothing there. Removing his limbs from the one opening, he mived to the next one and repeated the process with similar results. Maybe he had been wrong about the likelyhood of it being a possible location for loot. Though he could have sworn others had been nearby looking all the same as him in front of him. Not giving up, Gideon continued his search in the row of statures . And it was at the fifth one that his hand felt upon something off. Wrapping his fingers around whatever it was, he pulled it out and lit it with his wandlight. A tooth...was that on the list? Only one way to find out, the boy pulling said list out and low and behold finding a fake tooth on the list. Make that two items found. |

"Then why are you smiling?" she teased, poking his cheek with her index finger while her right hand retrieved the fang and added it to her bag. Fake snake fang down, Kurumi leaned over to look at August's sheet since her's was near impossible to read. "Sorting hat and a replica of Godric Gryffindor's sword," she said out loud, not really to August or anyone in particular. "Hey, August, you don't suppose that those two are together, do you? I mean, like the sword is inside the hat. Professor Scabior seems to have placed things in spots that have some sort of historical significance. Spots that played a part when the Chamber was last opened and, well, if he is going for a reliving of history, it would make sense that they be together." Since, you know, Harry Potter had literally been knocked on the head with the sword when he had put the Sorting Hat on his head. The locations seemed important, but the items were a bit odd per location. Gilderoy's wand being on top of Slytherin's head for one and cats inside his mouth. Glasses in his eye was sort of poetic, as was the diary being in the water. But now...where was the Sorting Hat? "So...I think we need to find the Sorting Hat. We find that and we find the sword." If her deductive reasoning was right that is. Her violet eyes glanced up at Professor Scabior. "You think he has the hat?" The man DID look like he was attempting to hide something behind him. SPOILER!!: the list |
Quote:
The only two left were the Sorting Hat and the plastic sword of Godric Gryffindor. Before he could speak any of his own thoughts, Kurumi seemed to be thinking along the same line as he was. Everything had seemed to be pretty historic, yet a tad off so, so far--why wouldn't the sword and hat be together. And Scabior WAS acting suspicious. "Well we will just have to find out, won't we?" The Gryffindor quickly scampered over to where their History of Magic Professor stood and walked quickly along the edge of the wall until he was slightly behind the man and then he sprinted forward to grab the item hiding in the shadows just a few feet from the man. Hoping Kurumi was still with him, August looked at the box and ripped the lid off, revealing the sorting hats. "Look Kurumi, The sorting hats!!" An idea occured to the fourth year and he bravely and excitedly placed the hat on his head just like Harry Potter did once. A slight bump landed on the top of his curls but he wasn't exactly sure if it was just weight from that hat or not. |
Quote:
"A-A-August?" she asked as she continued to search around from the fourth year lion. When she saw movement in the shadow and her eyes focused on it. Wait...what was August doing? Kurumi sort of just stood there in the middle of the walkway as she watched the lion go all Gryffindor-ninja on Professor Scabior, swooping in out of the shadows and practically leaping onto the hats. Erm....right. Kurumi WALKED up to Professor Scabior, bowed her head once, and then walked around him towards August who was now wearing his hat on his head proudly. "I think you should wear the glasses to complete the look," she winked. Kurumi picked up a hat for herself and reached into it, only to find that there seemed to be nothing inside. Odd. Maybe her theory was wrong? Sighing, Kurumi placed the Sorting Hat on her head and immediately felt something hit it. Slowly, Kurumi removed it and a plastic sword clattered against the ground. THERE it was! With a big smile on her face, Kurumi picked it up and looked at August. "I think that's it!" SPOILER!!: the list |
Quote:
"No way?!" August reached forward to lift his own hat off and found that it had already been in there. O______o "Oh, I guess I just didn't notice it until now." he chuckled and then placed it into his bad. "We did it Kurumi, we beat the Chamber of Secrets scavenger hunt." Now if only they had some awesome theme song or something like from the tv shows he had watched back home. SPOILER!!: the list |
guh major catching up so sorry SPOILER!!: Scabior Vickers neared the dust-y pattern and realized that it was snakeskin. Gently lifting it up he inserted it into the folds of his notebook. He turned just as his foot splashed the edge of a puddle of water. Wait is there something there? The Ravenclaw can make out a solid rectangular form.... SPOILER!!: Vickers' list |
Victory fanfare say what? Little bit of Scabior in here too <3 Quote:
Kurumi giggled again. She wasn't sure that beat was the appropriate word, but best not to rain on August's parade. They HAD accomplished quite a bit during this scavenger hunt any way you looked at it. This was like one of those moments in the video games that her brother, Takashi, helped design and Kurumi hummed one of the victory songs while holding up her plastic sword and with the Sorting Hat still on her head. VICTORY! "It's a shame really," she said with a smile. "There are still so many other areas of the Chamber to explore." Like...all those pipes and other small pathways. How much time was remaining? Not that it really mattered to the Gryffindors now that they had finished the task, but it was more about how much more time they had to potentially explore. Maybe find some items that were not on the list? Turning her attention to the professor only a few feet away from them, Kurumi spoke. "Professor Scabior, once we have found everything is it alright if we...explore a bit more?" She held open her bag to show the other items to prove that they had found everything. Well, everything but the Sorting hat (which was on her head) and the replica Gryffindor sword (which was in her hand). |
Right. Now, since she'd decided to sentence herself to rock climbing, she'd better do it now. Her instincts telling her to climb up the front, Elise stood on one of the giant man's beard strands. Looking into his mouth with her wand, Elise saw a suspiciously boxlike thing. Was it another item? Peering inside, she found a box. In he box, there were a few dead cats... toy cats. Checking her list, she noted a toy petrified cat. Right. Taking that, she put it into her bag. Noticing a glint in the right eye of the statue. She put her foot in one of the grooves on the statue and hoisted herself up. Maaaaybe she'd find another item... And she did. There were a pair of glasses in the eye. Taking a pair, she climbed to the top of the head. From here, at least she could see everything. SPOILER!!: List |
Text Cut: List As Sierra waited for Hades to respond, she wandered a few feet away in search of something else. She wasn't so far away that Hades would think she'd just turned away from him, but she was far enough away that she could look for other items, too. Looking down at her feet, she noticed that she was standing near a small puddle of water. Not too small, though, for something was floating deep inside of it. At first, she stepped away. Something mysterious in the water? Down here in the Chamber of Secrets? Nope. Not for her. She wasn't idiotic enough to just stick her hand down there and see what happened. That is until the object floated more to the surface, and she could see that it wasn't really anything dangerous at all. At least, not this fake version. "...and now a diary," she said to Hades, scooping it up. |
