Ella approached the water cautiously, noting that it was very dark and anything could be hiding inside of it. She also wasn't sure how deep it was. It could be merely a puddle but it also could be quite deep, Ella definitely didn't want to fall into dark water like that. She decided it was best to lay down on her belly and reach her arm around in the water. She did just that, pulling up the sleeve of her robe and plunging it in the water. She let her wand light the surface of the pool, noting several dark shadows in the water. With her fingers, she search around and around, not feeling anything but hard stone under her fingers. She was just about to give up the search and move on when she felt something during a sweep of her hand. She gingerly moved her arm back in the direction it had just come and grasped something square. Her eyes lit up, hoping it was an item on the list. Thrusting the item out of the water, Ella stood and held her wand to it. "The diary!" She exclaimed, looking around sheepishly. She hadn't meant to yell. She was excited to have found another item and she quickly and quietly crossed the item off her list, knowing there wasn't much time left. Now where to search? Quote:

Nerida had tripped over the snakeskin, now she would go and investigate that old box behind the professor. She walked over there and opened it, she reached inside and pulled out the Sorting hat and reached inside out of curiosity, maybe she would get the sword of Gryffindor...Hehe she smirked as she pulled out a plastic sword of Gryffindor. She began walking over to the statues wondering what they looked liked... SPOILER!!: List |

Still smiling because the Prefect had complimented him on the good idea, the Gryffindor just realised it had been about a minute or two and she hadn't yelled back up to say that she had gotten whatever it was down there. He needed to see what was up and make sure nothing was wrong. Moving up closer to the edge, the fourth year leaned slightly forward--and lost his footing. He and the suspended Gryffindor Prefect were now FALLING! |
Amelia was sure that there was at least one thing hidden by the Slytherin statue. He was the founder of Slytherin and the creator of the Chamber... there was no way that he wasn't a focal point for this. Amelia sighed as she searched Slytherin's head. She peered into his mouth, and.... found something. What was it though? Reaching inside, she noticed that it was another box like the one that contained the snake fangs. Hopefully this wouldn't prove to be more fangs. Carefully opening the box, it turned out to be... "A toy petrified cat." She pocketed it and then crossed it off of her list: Quote:

For Glenn, Lewis and Messer =) Sophie was still staring at the strange water. She frowned and got even closer to it. Was that...? She crouched before it and touched the water with her wand. It hit something hard. Sophie's eyes widened and she reached out her left hand to grab whatever that was. A diary! She got up and shook it a little to let the water drip. "Guys, look what I found!" She said happily going back to where her Hufflepuff team was. |
Nerida looked at the statues, lots of them snakes, she stopped and looked at one of the snake statues. She looked at the design and noticed it was crumbled. She noticed something inside the mounth of the statue, inside there was a little box. She smiled and pulled it out, inside was a fake snake fang. She whispered Yes!! She looked over at the huge statue of Slytherin and wondered would there be anything in that statue. SPOILER!!: List |

But then...something happened and Kurumi's body suddenly lunged forward, smacking against the face of Salazar Slytherin and loosing her balance completely. The knot August had made out of their robes also came undone - which may be for the best - and down she went until... Thankfully, it wasn't too far of a fall and the pool was shallow enough that nothing bad would come from the fall...besides her robes being drenched that is. No matter, she could always use a Hot Air Charm at the end to dry off. Treading water for a moment, Kurumi swam a little to the right to avoid a falling August. SPOILER!!: the list |
Closing the box with the toy petrified cats, Amelia placed it back into Slytherin's mouth so that the next person could find it. She kept looking around Slytherin's head, feeling his face to see if there was anything else hidden there. Reaching the eyes, there was something in the right one. Pulling it out, she saw it was Moaning Myrtle's glasses. The glasses were added to her slowly growing collection and she crossed it off of her list as well: Quote:

Since Amelia had looked in every nook and cranny in Slytherin's face and turned up everything hidden, it was time for her to try climbing higher up. That might not be very easy even though she had good balance. Slowly, she made her way up the head, using any grooves in his face as hand and foot holds. She had put the list in her other pocket, and she finally made it to the top of Slytherin's head. There she spotted another item on the list. "Lockhart's wand!" She picked one up and took her list out again. She crossed the wand off: Quote:

Nerida walked over to The Slytherin Statue and started climbing up reaching the mouth she put her hand and unexpectedly she found a box. She pulled out the box and opened it,inside was a toy petrified cat, she remembered the story of Flich's cat... She closed the box and put it back into the mouth and climbed up... Then she did something she cant even think about! She put her hand into the statue's nose. GROSS! No luck! SPOILER!!: List |
After finding two objects near the head statue of Slytherin Angelina thought she would look more. After look around for a while she spoted someithng up at the top of Slytherin's head. Getting up to the top which was pretty hard work she grabbed the object without looking at it and headed down to the ground. Once there she took the object and finally took a look at it, it was Lockharts wand. SPOILER!!: List |
Amelia pocketed the wand and then the list. It was time for her to climb down off of SLytherin's head now and see if she could find anything else in the other places of the Chamber. She had half of the items on the list, and three of them had been found on Slytherin. That was pretty darn good in her opinion. She carefully backed off of the head and made her way down Slytherin's face. It wasn't easy, and she was worried that she might fall off. She was almost at the bottom when she did fall. Thankfully it wasn't a bad fall though. Picking herself up off of the ground, she noticed that she was on top of something big and scaly. "Snakeskin!" Just by luck she had found something else. She stood to her felt and picked the skin up. "That's one more for the list." Quote:

Nerida continued up the statue when she got to eyes, she whispered I wonder how many people wanted to gouge out Salazar Slytherin's eyes... She put her hand inside the left eye, nothing, then inside the right eye...She found Moaning Murtle's glasses. She smiled and stuffed them into her pocket and put her hand on top of the statues head because if she went any further she would be sure to fall. She didnt feel anything determined to make sure she lifted herself up a bit and lost her footing on the mouth and quickly grabbed Lockhart's wand before she fell into the water... SPOILER!!: List |
Quote:
The fourth year Gryffindor boy fell from the summit of Slytherin's head, still holding onto what remained of his and Kurumi's Gryffindor robe rope, and landed with a big splash in the water below. Coming to the surface and gasping for air, he wiped his now drenched curls out of his face and looked at Kurumi with a shocked face that slowly turned into a grin. "Let's do that again!" he said excitedly smashing a fist into the water, causing another splash in his excitement. His mind switched from the fun thought and went back to the reason they were in the Chamber. "Oh did you get whatever that item was?" Just as he was asking her, he waded over to the shallow water, where it was only about 3 inches deep and slipped on something or somethings causing him to fall backwards into the water again. Resurfacing for a second time, this one Auggie wasn't as cheerful--until he saw the items that had made him fall. "Kurumi, here are Riddle's diaries!" he grabbed two and passed one to her, waiting to recieve the other item from her, the one from the eye. SPOILER!!: the list |
Snakeskin in her pocket, Amelia now proceeded to dust herself off, making sure to get all the dust and dirt from the fall off of her. Thankfully it hadn't been a bad fall since she was close to the ground. She didn't seem to be hurt at all. That was a very good thing. The next course of action would be to see of there was anything either in the water of the Chamber, or near the water. It also was probably that the Sword of Gryffindor was located inside the Sorting Hat going along with the whole experience Harry Potter had down here. So those two items could be found together, and the diary was something separate. Walking over to where the water was, she began looking at her feet. If there was nothing around here, she was going to have to start looking in other snake heads. :/ When she reached one particular dark spot, she paused. She saw something. Bending down, she picked up.. "Tom Riddle's Diary!" She beamed. She only had two more items to collect now. Pocket growing even fuller, she crossed that item off the list: Quote:

Kurumi followed August to the edge of the pool and slowly climbed out when she heard another splash. She hadn't expected August to dive right back in so quickly. Kurumi supposed that he just really liked swimming or something? Kurumi had never been much of a swimmer, so perhaps that was why she was so eager to get out of the water...which she did and twisted her robes tightly to try and get as much water off as possible. "Oh? Brilliant," she chirped, accepting the diary and trading it for a pair of glasses, adding those too to her bag of goodies. Kurumi checked her list, now soggy and with ink running all over the place, and attempted to make out the rest of what they needed, but that was proving to be rather impossible. "Um...August, did your list survive?" If not, they were going to have a hard time finding the rest of the things on the list. Taking a small step to the side, Kurumi heard a soft crunch under her soggy shoe and looked down to see...what WAS that? Dust? Bending down to pick it up, Kurumi saw that it was slightly translucent and...had scales? "Oh! Snakeskin," she chirped. That had surely been on the list, right? SPOILER!!: the list - now very difficult to read because of running ink Pocketing the list and adding the snakeskin to her bag, Kurumi looked back at Soggy Auggie. "Looks like we've only got three more things to find. Where do you suppose we should look next?" |
With wet robes tied in a knot around his waist, a toy sword against his back , the old diary in his hand and the sorting hat under his robe, Daichi continued to search the chamber of secrets for any of the items. As the minutes passed he began to feel irrated that he hadn't found anything yet and now started to look at the other students to see where they were looking. He looked as some where checking Slytherin's head area and he frowned as he didn't remember looking there. He had always been looking in corners and dark places and such that he totally missed the obvious. As he looked at the head, his dark brown eyes landed something on the ground and as he walked closer , he noticed that it was the snakeskin on the list. Picking it up, Daichi placed the snakeskin in his pocket. He began to regret leaving his bag upstairs in the bathroom but he couldn't get up to grab it now. Now with four items crossed out, Daichi walked around Slytherin's statue to find some more. But when he found nothing he looked up to look at the face itself. It was huge! And kind of funny how the mouth was open hehe... wait a second. The third year frowned as he came closer to the mouth of the head. He was sure he had seen something in it. It was luckily he had grown over the summer otherwise he had to jump to see what he thought he had seen. But now he only had to stand on his toes and he smirking as he saw the box inside of the mouth. He knew something was in there! He took it out of the mouth and as his feet stood firmly on the ground he opened it up. His heart skipped a beat when he was shocked to find a dead cat in it. That couldn't be right? He checked his list to see if *dead cat* was on it and finding the words *petrified toy cat* at the bottom. So the *dead* cat wasn't a real cat? Phew, he had thought he had accidently found a long lost forgotten cat in the chamber. He scratched out the two items he had found and held the toy cat in his other hand, fingers wrapped around the tail before continueing to search. SPOILER!!: List |
Text Cut: Our HuffieTeam Even though he should probably start looking into the Snake's mouth, Lewis was just staring down at Sophie. Why was she clinging onto his arm like that? And what was he supposed to do about it? It would probably be considered rude to peel her off his arm. And it wasn't that bad. She was just a scared little first year after all. So choosing to ignore the fact that he had a younger Badger literally hanging off his arm, Lewis turned to see what Messer was up to. Was he...peeking inside the snake's mouth? Completely unaware of the fact that the two girls had left their side, he then went to stand next to Messer, tilting his head upwards a little so he could look inside the statue's mouth too. Hang on...was that... "Hey, that's a snake fang, isn't it?" Lewis muttered, glancing at Messer next to him, poking something inside the mouth with his wand. It certainly looked like it. After a short moment of hesitation, he reached out to take it out - it was FAKE after all right?! - and put it in his palm, holding his hand up a little so they could get a closer look. Before they could identify it for sure, though, Sophie called out to them. Or he assumed she was calling out to them. He WAS part of 'guys' right? "What's that?" He asked softly when the two girls came back to where he and Messer were standing. SPOILER!!: List |
Reaching into the snake's mouth, Elise frowned. It had just been a trick of the light. Sighing, she moved onto the next statue and shined her wandlight in. Shrugging, she plunged her hand into the gap and smiled as her fingers caught hold of something. Tightening her grip around it, Elise drew her hand out to find something clasped in her hand. Smiling at the glint of white, she put the fang into her bag and kept walking. Reaching a small pool of dark-ish water, she pulled up her robes and knotted them around her waist. Now, what could possibly be making the water over there a little darker? |
As he looked back up at Slytherin's head, Daichi thought it was strange that a few students were climbing their way up on the head itself. Could there be an item at the top? It was worth the try to look but with so many items in his arms he didn't think he could climb. Looking for a place to hide his found items he walked towards the corner of the room which was in the shadows. He placed them on the ground and tore a piece of paper from his note book. On it, he wrote: Quote:
Running a hand through his hair, Daichi took a breath and grabbed the stone head to push himself up. His legs where dangling in the air as he used the strenght in his arms to push himself and swinged his right leg up to land on the head. With one last push he managed to climb on the side of the head and proceeded to crawl his way up, careful as to not to slip. As he climbed he felt his feet slipping a few times but since he had been on the Slytherin Quidditch Team in his first year he had had some training in balancing. Reaching the top , Daichi stood up and checked the back of the head. Only to find a wand laying on top of it~ He picked it up and placed it in his pocket. Daichi went to the face and lowered himself to slide down. Maybe if he first slided to the eyes he would get off better. His feet touched the hollow right eye and he carefully landed with his body inside. Daichi was now sitting with his back turned to the eye and was looking at the other students. Where on earth did Professor Scabior hide these things?! He stretched his arms as far as he could in the small area and then leaned back while supporting his arms behind him when he suddenly felt something that wasn't rock. Turning around, he looked straight at glasses inside the eye he was sitting in and his mouth dropped in astonishment. There was an item here?! If this was keeping up, he would find the items with the use of pure luck! He took the glasses and quickly slided down to cross his item out on the list where his other items where hidden...hopefully. SPOILER!!: List |
"Ok good. Now we can check that off. I'm going to check on top of the slytherin statue's head. I thought I saw something up there." Nate then hurried over to the statue. He started to climb up the statue. Every step he took pieces of the statue would come off. When he got half-way up he almost fell off. He just had to keep on climbing no matter what. After a long time of climbing Nate finally made it to the top. He then reached for what he thought was a rock, but what was really the wand! His other hand started to slip. He quickly pulled back his other hand. He tried to grab the statue with his hand the wand was in, but it slipped. He was hanging on for dear life. His other hand started to slip off of the statue. He tried to grip tighter, but it was to late his hand slipped off. He was falling and falling and falling. He then remembered the gripping charm. Next he quickly took out his wand, pointed it at his free hand, and said "Prehenso." Then he grabbd on to a ledge. Thankfully the spell worked. After that he slowly started to climb back down the statue. When he recahed the bottom he pointed his wand at his free hand and said "Finite." Then he ran over to his partner and said "I got Lockhart's wand." |
Wading towards the darker waters, Elise's bare toes nudged something solid. Prodding it again, she bent down to pick it up. It was just. a. rock. She kept walking through the water until her feet bumped against something else. Picking that up, she smiled. An old diary. Perfect! Cutting the items she'd found off her list, she put it back into her pocket hastily. Then, she slipped the book into her messenger bag. Now. If Elise was organizing the hunt in Slytherin's chamber, where would she put the items? Near Slytherin! Of course! Making her way over to the statue, Elise looked up into the stony eyes of the figure. Stepping nearer, Elise felt something crunch beneath her feet. Shuddering, she lifted her foot to fins something scaly stuck to the sole. Great, there was snakeskin! And she was pretty sure it was on the list. SPOILER!!: List! |
Alyssa continued to search looking around. She checked the list of the things her group had found. Text Cut: Things to find She decided that since Kurumi and the other Gryffindor had gotten off the Slytherin statue that she would climb up there and hopefully they had missed something. So Alyssa gripped hold of the statue and pulling herself up one hand at a time, making sure that she had a good solid grip and that her foot wouldn't slip off, she pulled herself up. As she climbed she looked into the various crevices but couldn't find anything. So she kept climbing. When she reached the right eye of Slytherin she noticed something that had reflected off the light from her wand. She quickly stopped and stuck her upper body inside and pointed her wand to light up the darkness inside. Sure enough stuck right in the corner of Slytherin's right eye was Moaning Myrtle's glasses. Alyssa quickly grabbed it, happy that she had found another item. She decided that since she was already on the statue, that she might as well continue searching. So she continued to climb up until she reached the top of Slytherin's head. She turned and looked all around her, and saw the other students running around looking for their treasure. Then she turned around and her eyes opened in surprise. There lying on top of Slytherin's head was a wand. Was it Lockhart's wand? Alyssa didn't care. She just grabbed it and quickly made her way down to the ground, making sure that she still was careful as she climbed down from the statue. 'Thank goodness for my rock climbing training' Alyssa smiled to herself. She grabbed her list and checked off the other items. Text Cut: Things to find She then quickly ran over to the Professor to ask him for more clues |
Ella approached the snake statues warily, knowing she'd most likely have to reach inside the mouths to find anything of value. This was a little anerving, especially since there could be anything from spiders to actual snakes hiding inside. The fact that time was running out was the only thing that urged her on, giving her some kind of confidence to stick her hand in the nearest statue's mouth. "Okay, here goes nothing." Ella plunged her hand inside the mouth and felt around. She didn't feel anything at first, standing on her tiptoes so she could search at the back of the mouth with her fingers. Then, she felt something. Reaching in as far back as she could, she pulled the item out to examine it. Holding her wand over it, Ella made out the snake fang in the light. "Yes!" she said, happily. She placed the fang in her pocket and pulled out her list, crossing the item off. Quote:

Professor All done. Acceptable?? Alyssa ran over to the Professor and noticed a box hidden behind him. She looked at him and then decided that she would take a risk and go search in the box. "Excuse Professor, I know that chances are probably slim that there's anything in there but I'm going to look anyway." Alyssa dived into the box and to her amazement she saw something dark inside it. Was it?....Alyssa quickly grabbed it and pulled it out. YES!! It was the Sorting Hat. As she lifted it out of the box, she felt that like there was something inside it. She knelt down on the ground and looked inside. "OH MERLIN!! It's a plastic Gryffindor sword." "Oakey, Violet. Get over here. I think that we've found everything. But just to be sure I'm going to check everything we've found off our list." Text Cut: Things to find "YES!! WE DID IT." Alyssa smiled over at her group mates. "Professor is our find acceptable?" Alyssa looked up to ask the Professor who was still standing right next to her. |
Ella had looked everywhere and was still coming up short on items. Decided she wanted to take another look at the Slythern statue, she approached, wand shining at the face. There had to be other items in or around the statue, there just had to be. She decided the best approach would be to shine her wand into each and every crevice, looking for items. First stop, the eyes. Ella shined her light into the first eye, coming up empty. She sighed. Wondering if she was on the right track. Then, she moved her wand over to the other eye and was rewarded. Reaching in, Ella was able to remove a pair of glasses. "I knew it!" she exclaimed!" She continued to move her wand around the face, eager to find the last few items she needed. As she moved her light around, she spotted something on top of slythern's head. What was that? She used her wand to swipe at the object and it fell to the ground in front of her feet. Stooping down to pick it up, Ella found a wand. "Seriously?!" She said aloud, not believing her luck. How had she missed these items before? She cast the thought aside and checked her list. Only an item to go... Quote:

Text Cut: List Sierra sighed to herself as she looked down at her nearly empty bag. Moaning Myrtle's glasses. That's all she had in there. One-eighth of what she needed. Blah... She dodged a few Puffers who were standing near her and began walking a few feet away. Something else had to be in here somewhere. But where? That was the question. Assignments like this annoyed her, because she couldn't just go up to her dorm room, hurry up and get the assignment done, and be done with it. No. This one took actual effort, which was normally not something she minded, but it make her irritable that she only had one item. She wandered over closer to Scabior, noting the box behind him. Hmm. Maybe she'd luck out and something would just be right inside of it. She approached the box then looked up at Scabior. He didn't seem to be bothered by the fact that she was about to rummage through the box, so Sierra went for it. She pulled away the side of the box, and--a sorting hat! Sierra grabbed it before anyone else could then walked away, a grin on her face. |
Amelia thought that it was worth a try searching for the Sorting Hat by the water as well, so she kept to it... for a bit. After a while she was tired of peering it no the water, so she decided that she was just going to risk it not being there. It might be in the mouth of a snake statue. So she headed back over to where the snake heads were and started checking in them again. Once she was sure that she found a box with something new in it, but it turned out to contain the snake fangs she already had one of. On to the other heads. When she had searched them all, she sighed loudly. She honestly had no idea where to look now. Making her way over to Scabior, she thought that she could tell him that she had found most of her items. Even if she hated quitting. But what was that by his leg? With a squeal she went behind her Professor and picked up a box. She opened it and saw the Sorting Hat. She knew what she needed to do now. Quote:

Yup, we're done alright Quote:

After crossing her fingers mentally, Amelia knew that there was only one thing left for her to do now. As long as she knew about the Chamber of Secrets and the story of Harry Potter defeating the Basilisk, she knew that the Sword of Gryffindor had come to him in the time of his need through the Sorting Hat. And if Scabior wanted to be accurate... the Sword would be inside this hat. Pulling the Sorting hat out of its box, she reached inside and pulled out the Sword of Gryffindor. She had found every item on the list by herself! "Professor!! I found everything!" she said as she crossed the last thing off. Quote:

Only one item left to find. Daichi had decided he let his found items in a corner in the shadows with the note on top. He stood up with the sword at his back and began to walk around. So far he had checked the corners , water, Slytherin's head and had gotten two items from Scabior. The only places he hasn't checked yet where the snakes along side the room. He knew he could have easily search there before but he was a little..uhm..scared of the snakes. Secretly, Daichi had hoped the items would be found somewhere NOT near those snakes but it seemed like he still had to check those ..creepy...snakes. Standing in front of one closest to the door (so that he could run and hide behind the Professor IF the snake statue began to move) and had to look up to check on it. He might be a Slytherin himself but snakes were pretty scary. There had lived a Basilisk here right? What..what if one of those statues suddenly woke up and and and...O__O Breathe Daichi Breeeathe Letting out a deep breathe, Daichi nodded his head once as to assure himself that nothing could go wrong with these snakes. They are statues for Merlin's Sake! He grabbed the mouth of one of the snakes and pushed himself up to check inside. After a few seconds of standing on his toes he let go. He hadn't find anything in this one. Daichi walked to the statue next to the one he was standing and did the same thing as with the first one. Standing on his toes, he found nothing inside and with a groan he got back firmly on his feet. He had hoped there would be something inside so that he could get away from those things. But it seemed that his luck wasn't on his side for the third and fourth try either and so he proceeded to walk to the snake statues on the other side of the room. Pushing himself up a little bit, he saw something white inside of the mouth. Gulping, Daichi closed his eyes tightly and reached his arm inside. 'Please don't snap shut, please don't snap shut...i love this arm..' he thought as his fingers touched something hard. He took it out and saw it were the fake fang he had been finding. "Professor!!! I found every item on the liiiist~!" he shouted enthusiastically and quickly ran towards his other items in the shadows of the corner at the back of the room. He picked them all up and walked with them towards the Professor. "Look!" he said, eyes twinkling as he held the items in front of his face. SPOILER!!: List |
Ella only had one item left to find and she had a gut feeling that the cat was somewhere near or in the statue she was currently at. She had already shined her wand in the eyes and on the head so that only left the nose and mouth. She checked the nose, wrinkling her own in the process, and came up empty handed. She felt a twinge of disappointment but decided to check the mouth. Slowly, she pointed her wand into the mouth, reaching with her other arm to feel around inside the large space. Suddenly, her fingers brushed up against something. It felt like another box. "This is it!" Ella said aloud, pulling the item out. Sure enough, Ella opened the box and there was the cat. She jumped up excitedly, waving it in the air. "Professor, I'm done too!" she called out happily. |

Text Cut: List Sierra was vaguely aware of a boy's voice, but what she wasn't aware of is that the boy was talking to her. A few seconds passed by, and then she finally looked up and saw him looking toward her. "Oh, ...Hades," he said. She knew his name, of course, because he was a Slytherin. Which meant that she was actually nice to him. He was her own kind. "I didn't realize you were talking to me." She held up the sorting hat she'd just picked up. "The sorting hat," she said, as if that wasn't obvious, "and a pair of Moaning Myrtle's glasses." Just then, she tilted the hat a certain way and something fell out, making a soft clinking noise against the floor. Plastic, it seemed like from the sound of the fall. Looking down, Sierra noticed a little plastic sword at her feet. "...and now a sword." Despite the fact that Hades was a Slytherin, Sierra still made a quick grab for the sword. They hadn't paired up yet, and may not at all, so for now, they were technically competing against one another. |

"Umm I think it did." he hoped to Merlin it did because he wasn't really sure what was left to be found. The Gryffindor reached into jeans pocket and was glad to find out that his list was not entirely soaked. "It did, awesome. We now need the snake fangs, Sorting Hat, and Gryffindor sword." he said noticing with a grin that she ahd just gotten the snakeskin for each of them. "I say we go and find the fangs first. Where do you think they would be?" he said placing his wrung out robes back on and looking around the Chamber as if expecting for them to jump right out and bite them. Not the point. They were not down here to swim...even if it WAS cool to think about how the waters they had just plunged into had once been used by the basilisk itself. Well, probably not considering that the water was flowing thanks to the plumbing, so new water was always coming and going...Over thinking, right, time to go back and look for stuff. "Oh good," she chirped, holding up her list beside his to compare. "Oh, that says a fake snake fang? Merlin, my list looks like it says blank cake hang...which really make no sense." Kurumi tapped her lower lip as she thought about where that could possibly be. They had already exhausted the area around Slytherin's head and even gone INSIDE it, so she knew that it wasn't there. Going back into the water didn't really sound appealing either, so that was out. "We haven't searched the area towards the entrance," she said after a few moments. "Or any of these snake statues. There is bound to be something inside one of those..." She then looked towards Professor Scabior. "And...I wouldn't put it past Professor Scabior to actually have one of these items ON him. In his pocket or something." Because the man was tricky like that. Shoes making squishy sounds as she stepped, Kurumi walked towards one of the snake statues and sort of just stared at it. Was she supposed to stick her hand in there? They weren't charmed to like...come to life or anything, were they? SPOILER!!: the list - now very difficult to read because of running ink |

Scabior might have something? "Wait, you think he would do that?" August thought back to the previous term when he had messed them all up and tricked them in the apple-basket lesson. "Yeah I guess he would. We will have to go bother him when we get down to the last item or whatever." But Kurumi had already began to stare at the snake statues. "Kurumi, you can't just look at them, start looking inside. They can't hurt you, I'm sure." He wasn't sure, and refused to stick his hand in them. Instead he looked around the floor underneath them. |
Quote:
Okay...stopping. She was going to give herself nightmares. Focusing her attention back on the snakes, Kurumi watched as August searched around the base. Nope...she was pretty sure that there wasn't going to be anything down there. "I think...we have to look IN their mouths," she mumbled nervously, pointing at the one closest to her. "Fangs are, after all, inside their mouths...." Swallowing hard, Kurumi slowly inserted her trembling hand into its mouth and waited for the worst. She even shut her eyes tight to mentally prepare herself when...nothing happened. Well, that was a relief. Still... Kurumi noticed that August was just as nervous about sticking his hand in there, and Kurumi SHOULD have felt bad about doing this, but it was a reflection of their brother-sister relationship. Her hand gripped around one of the fangs which suddenly came loose. Oh? YAY! Fake fang! But them, she scrunched her face up and... "AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!" You know, pretending that the snake head had chomped down on her arm sort of scream. |
Nerida was still ontop of Slytherin's head thinking about where the old diary could be. She looked down at the water some parts were dark, some were lightish...She deicided it was time to get wet and search the water. She put her foot on Slytherin's nose trying to make sure she didnt slip and fall, if she did that would be embarissing... As she put her hand on Slytherin's eye her foot slipped off of the nose and she fell into the water...Standing up dripping water she started walking to the edge of the water, when she tripped and fell. Feeling for what tripped her she picked up a black book, this must be the old diary. She got out of the water and said Got them all professor! SPOILER!!: List |

"Oh you think so?" he said in a tone of faked suprise as he took a sudden interest in re-tieing his shoes. For some reason the boy was second guessing the notion of sticking a hand in the snake head when he had jumped head first into the giant head of Salazar Slytherin. "WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!? KURUMI!" She was being bitten?! Where was Professor Scabior? He knew coming down here was a bad idea. Auggie had stumbled backwards and shut his eyes tight before peaking out and seeing a fake snake fang in her hand. Now he felt embarrassed. "That was NOT funny." he said trying to keep from smiling as he looked at the completely ok Prefect as he reached in and took a fake fang for himself. SPOILER!!: the list |
He must have been imagining things on the diary, nothing there where his finger rubbed against the cover to inspect it. Not that Gideon could blame himself or his eyes since the shadowy light wasn't that bright. Time to move on he supposed, stepping out of the puddle and on to dry stone, or at least mostly dry stone. Slowly waving his wand in front of him again, the Gryffindor started walking again, making his way down the one section of the Chamber. It wasn't until it opened up a bit more then he noticed more of his classmates around. And that most had apparently gotten further ahead on the task at hand then he had. Guess I should hurry it up. Gideon glanced in the direction he had last seen Professor Scabior wondering if he was still counting down but then brushed it aside. Task at hand first. He came beside a row of snake statues all with open mouths looking as if they were poised ready to strike at any passing intruder. Maybe that had been the purpose when Slytherin had designed the Chamber of Secrets all those years before, though maybe they held another purpose nowadays. Like maybe they were hiding something, the open shadowy spaces certainly posing an interesting selection of places to hide stuff. Slipping the diary into his pocket for safe keeping with his list stuck inside, he walked up to the first one. He then lit the space up the best he could with the lit tip of his wand in one hand while the other searched half-blindly within the mouth of hte statue. Nope...nothing there. Removing his limbs from the one opening, he mived to the next one and repeated the process with similar results. Maybe he had been wrong about the likelyhood of it being a possible location for loot. Though he could have sworn others had been nearby looking all the same as him in front of him. Not giving up, Gideon continued his search in the row of statures . And it was at the fifth one that his hand felt upon something off. Wrapping his fingers around whatever it was, he pulled it out and lit it with his wandlight. A tooth...was that on the list? Only one way to find out, the boy pulling said list out and low and behold finding a fake tooth on the list. Make that two items found. |

"Then why are you smiling?" she teased, poking his cheek with her index finger while her right hand retrieved the fang and added it to her bag. Fake snake fang down, Kurumi leaned over to look at August's sheet since her's was near impossible to read. "Sorting hat and a replica of Godric Gryffindor's sword," she said out loud, not really to August or anyone in particular. "Hey, August, you don't suppose that those two are together, do you? I mean, like the sword is inside the hat. Professor Scabior seems to have placed things in spots that have some sort of historical significance. Spots that played a part when the Chamber was last opened and, well, if he is going for a reliving of history, it would make sense that they be together." Since, you know, Harry Potter had literally been knocked on the head with the sword when he had put the Sorting Hat on his head. The locations seemed important, but the items were a bit odd per location. Gilderoy's wand being on top of Slytherin's head for one and cats inside his mouth. Glasses in his eye was sort of poetic, as was the diary being in the water. But now...where was the Sorting Hat? "So...I think we need to find the Sorting Hat. We find that and we find the sword." If her deductive reasoning was right that is. Her violet eyes glanced up at Professor Scabior. "You think he has the hat?" The man DID look like he was attempting to hide something behind him. SPOILER!!: the list |

The only two left were the Sorting Hat and the plastic sword of Godric Gryffindor. Before he could speak any of his own thoughts, Kurumi seemed to be thinking along the same line as he was. Everything had seemed to be pretty historic, yet a tad off so, so far--why wouldn't the sword and hat be together. And Scabior WAS acting suspicious. "Well we will just have to find out, won't we?" The Gryffindor quickly scampered over to where their History of Magic Professor stood and walked quickly along the edge of the wall until he was slightly behind the man and then he sprinted forward to grab the item hiding in the shadows just a few feet from the man. Hoping Kurumi was still with him, August looked at the box and ripped the lid off, revealing the sorting hats. "Look Kurumi, The sorting hats!!" An idea occured to the fourth year and he bravely and excitedly placed the hat on his head just like Harry Potter did once. A slight bump landed on the top of his curls but he wasn't exactly sure if it was just weight from that hat or not. |

"A-A-August?" she asked as she continued to search around from the fourth year lion. When she saw movement in the shadow and her eyes focused on it. Wait...what was August doing? Kurumi sort of just stood there in the middle of the walkway as she watched the lion go all Gryffindor-ninja on Professor Scabior, swooping in out of the shadows and practically leaping onto the hats. Erm....right. Kurumi WALKED up to Professor Scabior, bowed her head once, and then walked around him towards August who was now wearing his hat on his head proudly. "I think you should wear the glasses to complete the look," she winked. Kurumi picked up a hat for herself and reached into it, only to find that there seemed to be nothing inside. Odd. Maybe her theory was wrong? Sighing, Kurumi placed the Sorting Hat on her head and immediately felt something hit it. Slowly, Kurumi removed it and a plastic sword clattered against the ground. THERE it was! With a big smile on her face, Kurumi picked it up and looked at August. "I think that's it!" SPOILER!!: the list |

"No way?!" August reached forward to lift his own hat off and found that it had already been in there. O______o "Oh, I guess I just didn't notice it until now." he chuckled and then placed it into his bad. "We did it Kurumi, we beat the Chamber of Secrets scavenger hunt." Now if only they had some awesome theme song or something like from the tv shows he had watched back home. SPOILER!!: the list |
guh major catching up so sorry SPOILER!!: Scabior Vickers neared the dust-y pattern and realized that it was snakeskin. Gently lifting it up he inserted it into the folds of his notebook. He turned just as his foot splashed the edge of a puddle of water. Wait is there something there? The Ravenclaw can make out a solid rectangular form.... SPOILER!!: Vickers' list |
Victory fanfare say what? Little bit of Scabior in here too <3 Quote:
Kurumi giggled again. She wasn't sure that beat was the appropriate word, but best not to rain on August's parade. They HAD accomplished quite a bit during this scavenger hunt any way you looked at it. This was like one of those moments in the video games that her brother, Takashi, helped design and Kurumi hummed one of the victory songs while holding up her plastic sword and with the Sorting Hat still on her head. VICTORY! "It's a shame really," she said with a smile. "There are still so many other areas of the Chamber to explore." Like...all those pipes and other small pathways. How much time was remaining? Not that it really mattered to the Gryffindors now that they had finished the task, but it was more about how much more time they had to potentially explore. Maybe find some items that were not on the list? Turning her attention to the professor only a few feet away from them, Kurumi spoke. "Professor Scabior, once we have found everything is it alright if we...explore a bit more?" She held open her bag to show the other items to prove that they had found everything. Well, everything but the Sorting hat (which was on her head) and the replica Gryffindor sword (which was in her hand). |
Right. Now, since she'd decided to sentence herself to rock climbing, she'd better do it now. Her instincts telling her to climb up the front, Elise stood on one of the giant man's beard strands. Looking into his mouth with her wand, Elise saw a suspiciously boxlike thing. Was it another item? Peering inside, she found a box. In he box, there were a few dead cats... toy cats. Checking her list, she noted a toy petrified cat. Right. Taking that, she put it into her bag. Noticing a glint in the right eye of the statue. She put her foot in one of the grooves on the statue and hoisted herself up. Maaaaybe she'd find another item... And she did. There were a pair of glasses in the eye. Taking a pair, she climbed to the top of the head. From here, at least she could see everything. SPOILER!!: List |
Text Cut: List As Sierra waited for Hades to respond, she wandered a few feet away in search of something else. She wasn't so far away that Hades would think she'd just turned away from him, but she was far enough away that she could look for other items, too. Looking down at her feet, she noticed that she was standing near a small puddle of water. Not too small, though, for something was floating deep inside of it. At first, she stepped away. Something mysterious in the water? Down here in the Chamber of Secrets? Nope. Not for her. She wasn't idiotic enough to just stick her hand down there and see what happened. That is until the object floated more to the surface, and she could see that it wasn't really anything dangerous at all. At least, not this fake version. "...and now a diary," she said to Hades, scooping it up. |
"Prehenso," Elise muttered before she climbed onto the head and eyed everyone there rather skeptically. Where else would Lockhart's wand be hidden? Thing was that she was missing on something rather important right next to her left foot. And losing her grip on the statue, she stumbled a bit, landing flat on her stomach. Turning on her side in order to get up, she smiled. Another cardboard box. "Finite," she cast on her hand, before taking one of the items. A stick? Oh, right. Lockhart's wand. And scratching it off the list, she smiled. That was everything! Sliding down the statue, she came to a halt before slipping the wand into her bag. Now that she was done, Elise bounded over to where Professor Scabior was. "What do we do if we're done, Professor?" she asked, before crouching down to put her flats back on. |
With finding so much items around Slytherin's statue Angelina thought she could keep looking around for more by the statue. Maybe she would find one or two items. Skipping the spots she found the snakeskin, the wand and the cat she climbed up to looking more into Slytherin's face. After looking around a bit more she spotted something near his right eye. Climbing over she grabbed the item. Smiling Angelina looked at her list to find she found Moaning Myrtle's glasses. One thing off her list, three more to go. SPOILER!!: List |
Text Cut: List Sierra cast a glance toward Hades. Had the cat gotten his tongue? Maybe so, because he still hadn't said anything to her since that first question. "You coming?" she asked him, moving along. According to Scabior, the assignment ended in five minutes, and she still had four items left to go. Siiigh. Walking closer toward the statue of Slytherin, Sierra's brown eyes flickered this way and that. She just so happened to be looking up when she stepped forward again, nearly stepping on a piece of snakeskin on the ground in front of Slytherin's head. "Eww," she mumbled, forgetting momentarily that she was supposed to be gathering some snakeskin for the hunt. "Snakeskin," she whispered to herself, a light bulb clicking on in her head. Grinning, she reached down and scooped it up. |
Looking at her list Angelina thought to have found everything around the statue. She thought to look elsewere. Walking away from Slytherin's statue she spotted something by Professor Scabior. When she came upon the objects she found sorting hats. Angelina remembered seeing these on the list. Grabbing one she looked and found a sword inside. That was easy. Now there was one thing to find. SPOILER!!: List |
People seemed to notice the box behind him which he was actually surprised about. "No time to explore." He said shaking his head at Kurumi's question. Why? Because time was up. Scabior brought his fingers to his lips and let out a loud whistle that echoed through the chamber."Time to go back. Say bye to the chamber." As for the scavenger hunt? "Miss Potter, Miss Silverstar and Mr. Gunter, your group found everything first." Scabior nodded. "So congrats on that, extra points to you three." And now that he thought about it? He was feeling generous. "Extra points to Miss Reinhart and Mr. Katharos, for coming in second and third, respectively." He was being so nice. Scabior pulled out his wand, summing all the items that weren't collected and pushing them into the largest box. "All of you are free to keep any ideas that you found. Now form a line, we're going back up." With that flicking his wand and levitating the box, then turned to make his way out of the chamber. |
Alyssa was disappointed that they had to leave the Chamber. She would have loved to stay here and explore more. However, she was glad her team had won the scavenger hunt. Teamwork always helped accomplish tasks faster. She quickly picked up the things they had found and fell in line together with the other students and followed the Professor out of the Chamber. |
Amelia was happy that she had gotten second place. Not that it was a race to her or anything, but it was still nice that she had done well. She patted her pocket of items affectionately and then followed the Professor and Alyssa out of the Chamber. |
No? Well, Kurumi was used to that sort of response from Professor Scabior, so her facial expression didn't change much save for the corners of her lips turning upside down ever so slightly. As for those extra points, oh well. If her and August hadn't literally climbed inside the head of Salazar Slytherin or taken a dive into the pool they probably would have "placed" ... but it was worth it. She wouldn't have traded their exploring for a few extra house points. Still with the Sorting Hat on her head, she glanced over at August and nodded her head towards the exit that Professor Scabior was leading everyone to. "Suppose we ought to go," she said with a small sigh. No more climbing and falling into things Picking up her bag again and making sure that nothing was left behind, Kurumi followed behind Professor Scabior. "Good bye, Chamber!" He DID tell them to say good bye to it after all. |
Daichi jumped a little when he heard a loud whistle coming from close by and since he had been standing near the Professor to show him the items he had found he was a bit shocked. He untied his robes and the sword fell down on to the ground. Picking it up, Daichi held it in his hand as the Professor spoke again. He clapped with his fingers when he announced the first place winners who would get the extra points. Daichi knew only the first place would get extra points so there was no point in listening anymore. He began to play with the toy sword in his hand and tried to twirl it around. But he dropped when he suddenly heard his last name being called. "Eh?" he said and quickly bend down to pick the toy sword up. He was giving extra points to the second and third place as well? AWESOME! Daichi straightened his back a little bit as if to brag about his extra points with his posture when something dawned him. Scabior giving extra points? It was already a shock to hear that even the first place got them but to actually give extra points to the runner ups AND allowed them to keep any item they wanted was just...weird. WHO WAS HE AND WHAT HAS HE DONE WITH THE PROFESSOR?! :whaa: But maybe Daichi shouldn't think too much about it. If Scabior wanted to be nice once than that was fine with him. He watched as the unfound items were summoned towards the Professor with the use of a spell. Daichi didn't think he would need any of the found items so he gave them to the Professor as well. Except for the toy sword. Because it was cool like him, he NEEDED to have this. Still holding the sword in his hand, Daichi stood in line with the other students and turned around one last time. "BYE BYE CHAMBIE~" he shouted and waved at it. |
Text Cut: Kaos.Doodles Whoa. Wait. Time was up?! ...but. ...but. Sierra frowned on that note. She'd only enough time to gather five of the eight items, all thanks to Professor Speedy Gonzalez who made this and 'in and out quickly' kind of thing. Boo. So she didn't get any extra points, but maybe she'd get at least something for finding a little over half the items. ...and now he wanted them to keep the items they'd found? What was she meant to do with a snakeskin and plastic sword anyway? She kept them, though--for now--then followed Scabs out the Chamber. |
