Herbology Rules & Expectations
 

On entering the greenhouses a number of plaques are hung on the wall. Duplicates of these plaques may also be found on the door to the cupboards inside the greenhouses, and on the door of the shed outside. They are there for a reason, read them.... or else suffer the consequences.

Classroom Behaviour

Please:
• Be punctual; late comers will be welcomed with a loss of house points.
• Treat yourselves, your peers, the classroom, the plants and myself with respect.
• Participate in a safe and conscientious manner.
• Plagiarism will not be tolerated- do your own work.
• Come prepared with your thinking caps and a smile.

OOC: Please remember this is first and foremost a role play game- so role play! Not everybody is perfect, everybody makes mistakes, and first years don't know everything. Have fun and let your character really explore Hogwarts- physically and especially intellectually.

Also in regards to lateness- do not RP your character arriving once the lesson has begun- unless they have a plausible excuse- such as performing the Heimlich manoeuvre on a staff member in the Great Hall. Just pretend as if they have been there the whole time.

Do not:
• Consume and food or drink during classes- except for water.
• Chat excessively before lessons or at all during lessons, this will result in a loss of house points.
• Harm the plants... or they may harm you. (And if they don't I might)

OOC: Whilst participating in classes or exploring the student garden or greenhouses, under no circumstances- unless given permission to do so- may you be fatally injured by any of the plants. Nor will you harm the plants in return- Otherwise Professor Bentley might just feed you to her Snargaluff. Minor wounds, scratches and splinters are fine. But please.... people don't die doing Herbology!

Homework Submission

Homework will be due two weeks from the date that it is posted- Late submissions will not be graded, NO exceptions.
Please submit all homework via owl to Professor Bentley .

When submitting your homework please title it appropriately, title it with the subject area- Herbology and then the number of the homework e.g. Herbology Homework #1, Herbology Homework #2 etc

Also include the following information at the top of each homework submission.

User ID: (To see your member ID, click on your username. Your user profile will open. Look at its URL. The bunch of numbers at the end, is your User ID.)
Character Name:
House:
Year:

OOC: Please note that I do not support plagiarism- so do not copy and paste your homework from any of your sources- if you do I will know and you will be punished accordingly. Also note that I am in fact a high school teacher so I have a lot of homework and assignments I have to mark in my own time already. Please be kind and use proper spelling and punctuation. If I have trouble reading what you have submitted then your mark will reflect this. A little bit of time and effort goes a long way.


All SS Board Rules apply. IC rule breaking will result in IC punishment, OOC rule breaking will result in OOC punishment. Please behave appropriately and most importantly... have fun.

Also please note that if you have any issues, concerns or comments feel free to send me a pm... I don't bite.

And finally, all classes and homework will be announced in GMT format.

Posting

When participating in lessons, or just role playing out in the garden or in the greenhouses, please follow the following rules:


• Do not break any of the SS site rules (you should know these by now) This means be aware of your language and any content you post.

• Please keep in mind the context of the school RP... we are in 2075, Harry, Ron and Hermione are NOT here.

• DO NOT, under any circumstances, double post.

• Respect yourselves and other users.

• And please role play in a realistic fashion. First years do not know everything- even if they are purebloods.

• And lastly... don't die. If your character decides to get too close to a Snargaluff and is swallowed whole, that is your responsibility and you shall live with the consequences. Mmmhhmmm.
