The glittering night sky is clear and visible through the enchanted ceiling, and the floating candles bedeck the entire hall in a warm golden light. All seems well with the world, aside from the empty plates still waiting for food to appear.

But if she wasn't going to, Alec wasn't going to complain. "I... erm, I just thought..." He should really learn how to spill things out. "Well, you never really liked Adeline did you? I thought you'd be upset knowing that she tried to... get close."
Alec gulped. It wasn't her question that made him slightly speechless, it was the idea of another guy, a stranger, taking his best friend away from him. Did he want that? No. Could he stop it from happening? ... Maybe. "I'd never yell at you," he said, "I just... I'd be a bit mad. And worried that someone's trying to take you away from me..."
Maybe he shouldn't have said anything at all.
The treehouse! Their usual arrangement! It would be just like their old days and that idea made him feel slightly happier. "Yeah!" he said, "We can catch up on everything we've missed with each other." Because something told him that they had quite a bit to catch up on.
"Of course I didn't really like her." Anya said as if it was the most obvious thing in the world. "She wanted to steal you from me. Why would I like that?" She let out a little sigh. "But, you wanted to be friends with her, I really couldn't stop you." Maybe now he learned his lesson though. She nodded. "I am upset. But it's okay. Now you know why I don't really like her."
She shrugged a little. "It's not like you have a crush on her. Then we'd be having a completely different conversation." One that probably would involve yelling.
See! Alec would feel the same way if the situation was the other way around. She giggled a little. "Now that is something you'll never have to worry about. No matter how many friends I make, you'll always be my favorite. Nobody is taking me away from you. No matter how hard they try."
She gave him a reassuring smile. Forever and ever. That's how long they were going to best friends.
She nodded. "Yup. I wanna hear all about your badger room." Oh! And then they could swap secrets! Because unlike last summer, they both wouldn't be hiding a very big secret.
"I'm glad you're here Blakey." she said. "Could you imagine if things were different? I'd be seeing you for the first time in a long time tomorrow."

Gideon smiled laxidasically at the thought of his summer being...as Selina said...brilliant. Not many would be willing to spend the time academically after the rest of the year at school. Aye they probably would appreciate the help, but it wasn't like he didn't enjoy it in the first place. The boy briefly wondering of there was something special to happen in the heavens over the summer which was always exciting. But as Selina spoke, he pished it aside for there was plenty of time once they were both at their respective homes.
"Maybe..." he answered with a shrug, not knowing for certain. She occasionally did...when the spirit suited her, otherwise she was the energetic and rambungious young girl she really was. "Dad might try to test what she learned from Lafay against what he knows like he did with me." Potioners always seemed to be comparing skills as if it was a big competition.
Kacie. Oh merlin, Gideon's younger sister was an interesting character. Selina, personally, really enjoyed talking and spending time with the youngest Gert sibling. There was somethinv very refreshing about Kacie and her excitement with everything. In fact, Selina had a soft spot for many of the first years because they all reminded her of herself at their age. Nice kids... all of them.
It was actually funny to think of Kacie, with her Gert typical hair and crazy personality, being focused enough to assist the potion master in summer study. However, according to Gideon Kacie was brilliant at the subject. Then again it seemed all the Gert children were. In the genetics as it were.
"That's cool. It's just funny to picture Kacie in that environment, you know?"

Namely the event that was going to literally tear her family apart. She hadn't given much thought to her mother over the past few days either...and that made the prefect feel more guilty than she did about the kiss that she couldn't remember.
Kurumi lifted her head now and sat up straight as she traced the rim of her goblet. She really wished that she had some pumpkin juice right now. "Do you mind staying in my room when you come to visit?" she asked rather suddenly just to change the subject. Selina coming to visit, despite the circumstances being a little grim, was something she was very much looking forward to.
Right. Staying with Kurumi. Selina had almost forgotten that she was going to be spending some time with the Hollingberry family to help Kurumi through the tough times ahead. Thay was part of being someone's best friend- you love them more on their worst days than on their best days. And for Kurumi she certainly had many bad days ahead. Selina knew this for certain because she had seen them. Her visions, some of which included Kurumi's goodbye, were a clear indication to Selina that her best friend was about to go to through horrific things. It was predetermined and terrible....
So Selina was going to spend some time with the Hollingberry family to try and be there for Kurumi. She did not mind sharing a room with Kurumi; although, Selina had a feeling that there could have been another place to put Selina. However, she was not going to complain. If Kurumi needed her best friend nearby for moral support she would be there every second. It was true she was going to be going with her father for training, but once that was done Selina was all Kurumi's and Kurumi knew that.
So with a sad smile she remarked, "Yeah I don't mind at all. I'm excited about spending some time with you... Get to meet your family.". When she still could.
Lyssie bent down looking under people's feet trying to find what Nessie has lost. "I'm going to Accio it. Here's hoping that I don't end up summoning everybody's here."Alyssa told Nessie. Pulling out her wand she said,"ACCIO Nessie's bracelet!!" Unfortunately nothing came flying into the hand that she had held out. Lyssie looked at Zeke who had turned his back to them like as if he was no longer interested in talking to them. Lyssie started to grin. She knew it was wrong but couldn't help it. "Accio Zeke's plate!!"she whispered pointing her wand at Zeke under cover of the table she was under.
Just as he was about to completely ignore them, Zeke realized his plate suddenly flew away from him out of nowhere. What on earth? His eyes widened, a bit shocked. He turned around to see where his plate has gone. Squinting his eyes at her, he thought, 'Lyssie.'

Now things were really getting serious. At least he had the decencey to use her nickname. It wasn't that she hated being called Renesmee, it was just that it reminded her of her parents and that wasn't something she liked to think about often. What really got her mad though was that this Zeke thought she was full of herself. She knew the shouting would come soon, her temper was boiled up too high now.
He was going to get Loch Ness treatment now. " I AM NOT FULL OF MYSELF!" she began screeching at him, and trust me her screeching sounded terrible and high pitched. "I JUST DON'T NEED HELP FROM SUCH A MEANIE!" Meanie? Really? What a wonderful word to use. Ness automatically blushed a little as she registered what she had just called him. She sounded like a two year old.
The red head then bent down again and began searching. Only to find that Lyssie had somehow caused Zeke's plate to crash into pieces on the floor. She didn't mean to be angry or anything, but she couldn't help it. "What have you done?" she asked in a bit of an annoyed voice.
Then she saw it, the best friend bracelet. It was in her own shoe. It must have dropped there and had gotten stuck in the side. She pulled it out and then put it around her wrist. "Found it!" she said as a small smile grew on her face. Now what to do? Either leave? Or argue? She wanted to argue..she wanted to get rid of all the anger even if leaving would have been more mature. She stood up and then trying to be all Slytherin on Zeke she began glaring at him.

And there came a parade of words from a clearly enraged girl. 'Meanie, huh?' Zeke thought to himself as he suppressed a chuckle. He found her vocabulary to be quite, how do we put this? Ah, childish. So instead of actually being affected by whatever words she began throwing at him, Zeke found himself amused by Nessie. 'Trying to be tough again, hm?'
Before he could react to what Nessie said, he heard glass shattered into a million pieces. What now? His plate. Right. He almost forgot about that. Zeke couldn't help but just watch as almost everyone was moving and talking at the same time. It was as if he was lost in the moment, not able to get mad at Lyssie for what she's done, not able to get back at Renesmee for what she said, and not able to defend himself to the prefect who had just approached them. Zeke badly wanted to speak, but found no words. Things were happening too fast. Or at least, too fast for him.
She was now glaring at him? The nerve of some people. "What?" He finally managed to say as he looked at her with eyebrows knit together in either confusion or frustration.

"Here's your plate, Zeke. Somehow it seemed to like me and came to find me. Don't know why it did that but here I am returning it back to you."Alyssa said trying to keep a straight face and trying not to laugh.
'Hooray, the bracelet's been found,' Zeke thought unenthusiastically. Oh the irony. Once again, he just watched as Lyssie put back together his plate. And watched again as the girl placed the plate in front of him. This Lyssie girl was really getting to his nerves. But he'd rather not say a word anymore. He glared at her and looked away again.

*blink* Lyssie had now fixed the plate, which was a good thing, cause Nessie was beginning to loose her patients too and she didn't feel like getting on Lyssie's bad side. That wouldn't be good at all. Not for her and not for anyone else.
After having glared at Zeke for quite a while she became even more angered when he had said 'what?'. Did it look like she had something to say to him? No! Okay..maybe she had lots to say. She wanted to shout more...or worse she wanted to hit him. She looked over to where the Hufflepuff table was and saw Treyen a little distance away. He wouldn't be happy to see her do what she wanted to do, especially not after he had just given her a whole lecture about how he wanted her to behave and how he didn't want her pulling people's hair. He was far away though and he probably couldn't see her which was why she thought it was alright. She took one step closer to Zeke with her hands clenched....
That was a mistake. She stopped immediately in her tracks.
Someone had tapped her on her shoulder. With a rather annoyed face she turned around and almost dropped when she saw Adam. Ooopps! He wouldn't be too happy about this. He was supposed to prevent this sort of stuff as he was after all a prefect. Though Ness was clever today and she knew if she played all innocent he'd believe his little sister...or at least she hoped he would. Trying not to look angry, she began wibbling and pretended to be all upset. "Your Gryffindor is being horrible to me." she said with a small frown. Then to be more convincing she wrapped her arms around Adam, so he would think she was all upset and needed a hug.
At least she wasn't lying, but there was tons more to the story then just that.

What the blubberpuff what she doing? She was the one about to attack him while he was just sitting there. Zeke looked at the prefect, clearly confused. "Hey, I'm just sitting here. She was the one about to attack me," he said, hoping the prefect had good judgment. The situation was so obvious, he's sitting down at his own table while they were the Hufflepuffs going in for a visit. Gee.
He looked at Renesmee, obviously annoyed now at her attitude. Hm. Looks can be deceiving after all. This girl, who had just almost turned into a monster moments ago, was now all 'oh-please-pity-me-cause-i'm-the-victim-here'.

Alyssa's heart sank when she saw the glare and irritated look Zeke sent her way. She had only tried in her awkward way to say hi to him, but from what she saw, she knew that she had failed miserably. So she walked up him and said,"I'm sorry for causing all the chaos and being such a nuisance. I was just trying to get you to notice me, but from what I can see, you're more interested in knowing someone else instead." Alyssa told him as she glanced over at Nessie. "I'll leave you alone now. But before I leave I just wanted to let you know something. I'm really do make a good friend once you get to know me. But I guess you'll never know now.".

So a Gryffindor was being mean to Nessie? That was good to know. First of all, why'd it have to be a Gryffindor making their house look bad,but Adam would mention that to the Lion in a few moments. Oh sister, literally. Nessie then wrapped her arms around him in a tight hug and Adam hugged her back rather stiffly. Maybe she was feeling bad but he highly doubted the situation was so grave she needed a hug. In a slow manner Adam let go of her and faced her in the eye.
But first he looked at the boy bothering here. "First of all, thank you for making your house look good." Maybe this boy would think about his actions once that sank in. "I'll be getting your side of the story in a minute. Just wait till I get Nessie's first."
"Ok. Nessie what happened?I mean knowing that he bothered you is a great start but I actually need details to make a resolution here."
Best Adam get both sides of the story rather than just blaming the boy because Nessie was Adam's 'sister.'

Good, Adam was going along with her hug even if he's was a bit stiff. It was when they both pulled back, that Nessie's mood began changing again. The anger was still in her but as she looked back into Adam's eyes she began to be scared too. It was a good thing he turned away as it gave herself time to calm down. Why was she so scared anyways? It was only Adam, even if she had done wrong he wouldn't do anything to hurt..right?
Then he turned back to face her. She bit her lip. Better to get everything out in the open. "Um..hestarted." That was all her lips would let her say for the time being. She stared at Adam for a few moments. He knew her better then that and he must have sort of figured what she was up to. "Fine..its my fault. All of it." She eyed Zeke waiting for he's reaction. Happy now? She hoped he was cause she did it for him.
The ginge would need more things to say then just saying it was her fault. Adam did want to know the whole story after all and so Ness began explaining. "So you see he thinks I follow him around and I don't, so when I first saw him..I apologized and left, but I sort of dropped my bracelet here and so I had to come back, and erm...I kinda lost my temper with him." She didn't feel like mentioning that he had told her she was full of herself. That would just get him into trouble and she didn't want to do that.
