Gobstones Preliminary Match: Hufflepuff vs Ravenclaw The time had come for the second match for Gobstones. Historically speaking, Hufflepuff didn't have the most talent when it came to Gobstones. But Fina never felt fond of History. Entering the court area, she noted the bumps and bridges on the court, along with a few rocks scattered about, and removed the two twin bags from her tote. One bag filled with yellow marbles, the other blue. Upon seeing a few players from each house, she nodded respectively to both houses, handing them their respective colored stones before placing the large Jack Stone carefully in the middle. "You've read the rules. Horseplay and cheating will not be tolerated. Good luck." |
Raising her hand, she signified the match start at players from both sides took their respective colored stones . . . Round 1 ScoreQuestion 1: Match ScoreRavenclaw - 0 Round 1, Question 1 Subject: Transfiguration Level: Easy What creature did Rubeus Hagrid attempt to transfigure Dudley into? |

Little Miss Hutchinson was the first to sneak a blue marble from the bag, carefully wrapping her little fingers around the marble and making aim. Just as Alyssa Potter took her own colored stone and rolled it onto the court. The blue marble connected with the surface, rolling an even smooth ride toward the middle.... over the rock and using the momentum from the downhill side of the rock to finish up close to the Jack Stone. The yellow marble also took a similar path as to the blue one, finishing just behind the blue. With certain look of triumph, Little Hutchinson took another blue stone from the bag, rolling it onto the court in a similar manner as she did before. Just as another yellow marble appeared onto the court, this one wasn't thrown by Alyssa though. No; a certain older student, Lewis Rasting, may have been new to Hogwarts, but evidently he was not unfamiliar with the game of Gobstones. The yellow marble rolled speedily along the court, past the blue stone, over a bump and rolled to a stop right next to the Jack Stone. A stop closer than the blue stone. Feeling his level of confidence rise, Rasting rolled another yellow stone. This time, however, it was matched with not the Little Hutchinson, but the older one.... as he rolled his blue stone onto the court, it rolled over a rock and then veered off toward the edge.... whereas the yellow stone thrown by Rasting, veered toward the middle, claiming the spot next to the Jack Stone The yellow stones spewed gob in the faces of the Hutchinson siblings, as Hufflepuffs take the first round of the match. Somehow.... the Hutchinson siblings decided to take a break (or maybe wipe their faces off with a towel), but no fear for the Eagles, as Lulu Kieren picks up the slack .... or the blue marble ... she rolls and though she's no veteran, her blue marble connects with the court, rolling over the bumps and under the makeshift bridge, near the center Jack Stone.... ... Just as it approaches the Jack Stone, it's joined by a yellow marble. Alyssa Potter had taken to rolling another stone, in which her stone rolls fast, approaching the blue one, but falls just short of the Jack Stone, in which the blue stone had come to a stop beside. Lulu earns a point the first point of the next round! Perhaps she was slightly focused on the fact that two Ravenclaws had gob in their faces, Alyssa halfheartedly aimed her stone. It bounced off to the edge of the court.... completely in the opposite direction of the center Jack Stone, just as the older Hutchinson seemed to have recovered from the gob in his face.... he rolled his blue stone... ... the blue stone fast approached the center Jack Stone, sealing a round for the Eagles, and tying the match, whilst simultaneously it spewed some fresh gob out into the faces of the Hufflepuff players. Whistling sharply, Fina motioned for the players to set their next marbles down. "Let's take a break. We'll resume in 15 minutes." ooc: the match will resume at approx. 11pm EST tonight. Some new players from each house stepped in to roll - though they weren't exactly new to Gobstones, just the current match. Ellie Stone gives a fervent look to the Head Boy, as she rolls her blue stone onto the court.... The Head Boy is unperturbed by the redhead as he rolls his own yellow stone. Both stones roll parallel..... and eventually ... slow to a stop, the yellow one inched just closer to the Jack Stone than the blue. Hufflepuff takes the first point of the new round.
