A section of the lake has been especially set up for a round of Giant Lilypad Jumping. The Victoria Amazonica has been grown especially for the event and have been strategically arranged at the edge of the lake. The water here is relatively shallow, so you do not run the risk of drowning or being dragged beneath the surface by the lakes inhabitants.

Each of the lilypads are numbered, and each of them also have a value assigned to them. These may vary from one point to four points, and the aim of the game is to make it across the lake from the starting position to the finishing line at the opposite end where you jump back onto dry land. Everyone wins a prize, but depending on the number of points you accumulate will determine how good a prize you receive.

Though it may seem easy enough you should tread carefully. The lilypads might be big, and are certainly capable of holding your weight, but they are also slightly slippery and a little springy underfoot. At any rate if you do fall in the late and get wet, then it will be a refreshing wake up call. If this happens, just pull yourself back up and have another crack --even if you are wet.

Be sure to pace yourselves as this task is quite a feat, especially considering the sheer size of these GIANT lilypads. Balance is key. Good luck competitors.

SPOILER!!: Prizes!

The Rules:
This is an RP game, and you are required to RP your character crossing the section of lake by jumping across the lilypads.

You must do this in 11 jumps! 10 jumps onto lilypads and the last one back onto dry land.

You may not use magic to gain an advantage or to disadvantage others.

You may not interfere with anyone else's jumping.

You MUST not exceed 10 lilypads-- this will result in disqualification.

This must be done in 5 RP posts of at least one paragraph in length (about 4 lines).

When jumping onto the lilypads you must state in the RP what number the lily has been assigned (not the value-- only staff members know what the value is)

The lilypads you are jumping to and from MUST be touching, whether they are side by side or diagonal. (See the map provided)

The prizes will be announced at the end of the event.

She felt bad now, but as the girl was okay, she shrugged it off and jumped on to lilypad #17, and then with another jump on to lilypad #21.

By now, Ira was almost sure that she wasn't going to fall off balance into water. She then thought about the next lily pad to jump on. They could go sideways too, right?

Ira gently jumped over to her sideways, to number 7. It sort of wobbled. Why did it feel like it was wobbling much more than others? Or maybe it was just her mind! Then onto the next one. Which pad?

She chose number 11. Why? Simply because it seemed nearer to her pad 7 than others. She lightly hopped onto it and landed correctly.

Well..at least the girl wasn't rude or anything. She..well..accepted was Beezus said and that was enough. Not to mention that she also apologized. Beezus smiled at the girl and prepared to jump. "I'm Beezus by the way. Nice to meet you!" the young Ravenclaw said before jumping. When else was a good time to make friends but during games?

She set her feet down on Lilypad 30. She was very close to the goal now. Very. But then suddenly, a slight wave passed, almost making her lose control on balancing. She swayed a bit, her hands were flapping around, making it look like she was imitating a bird then she knelt down, holding her breath. Beezus tried to calm herself and after a while, she stood up again and jumped unto the next lilypad which was Lilypad 29.

"Beezus, Beezus..you're good. You're good, okay?" she talked to herself as she tried to suppress the excitement that she was feeling at the moment. And then with a last push of her own body...

JUMP!

Beezus landed flat, hands first on the grass patched grounds. She had done it! She passed all those Giant Lilypads. The young Ravenclaw rolled and sat up. Exhausting but definitely worth it.

Kurumi's pockets jingled a bit with the tokens she had received from other events as she made her way over to the giant lily pads where, not too surprisingly, Professor Bentley was supervising. "Hello, Professor Bentley," Kurumi waved enthusiastically. She then turned her attention to the sign listing the rules and looked out over the course. Ten lily pads in eleven jumps. Seemed straightforward enough. Kurumi removed a hair-tie from her pocket and quickly tied her hair back in a tight ponytail and clipped her bangs to the side so that it wouldn't get in her way while she jumped.

Clasping her hands together, Kurumi looked at the first row of lilypads. Now, where to begin. Kurumi walked all the way to the right and jumped first on number 4. The lilypad sort of squished under her feet and she held out her arms to keep her balance.

Now, where to next?

Oh. She had thought she had annoyed the girl, but it didn't seem that she had. "I'm Amelia. Nice to meet you too. Again, I'm sorry. I didn't see you because I was focusing too much." Typical blonde of her. She personified the dumb blonde jokes that Janet liked to tell her. *sigh*

Still feeling bad for what had happened, Amelia was extra careful when using the other pads. She felt ashamed of herself, and hoped that the Professors wouldn't be hard on her because she had been too focused on getting across.

She'd be a lot more careful, yes.

Making sure that the coast was clear, she jumped onto lilypad #25. It wasn't the most graceful jump, and she almost fell off, but she managed to steady herself before jumping on to lilypad #30. She had reached the end now.

With one final jump, she reached the other shore. Go her!

She was enjoying this very much! Smiling, she jumped to her next lilypad, number 15. She gently landed on it, stretching out her arms to balance herself.

She looked ahead and saw that Beezus had already completed this game. Eager to complete herself, she looked at the next row.. Now which one should she choose?

Now that she was on lilypad 8 Amelia took another good look around. Some lilypads were closer together than others, but she did only have a certain amount of jumps to get across. She'd already taken two, obviously, which left her with eight jumps onto lilypads and then the one she could use to get onto land. Also she didn't want to fall so this was a very serious decision.

However there were also more people on the course now, and so Amelia made the split decision to jump onto 11. That was three jumps. She'd landed closer to the edge of that one and so her balance wasn't quite as good. At least she was small though, which probably helped her to not tip over into the water. But now where next...

Amelia walked closer to the center of the pad to make that decision. She decided to use lilypad 10. The jump wouldn't be so far, and there was a person already on the other path already. This time she was more careful as she jumped, and although she slipped slightly she remained standing and landed on the lilypad she'd been aiming for.

From 10 Amelia made the jump onto 14. Her landing wasn't quite as elegant as her previous ones though and she came close to falling into the water. Flushing slightly she made careful and deliberate movements to push herself back up. She did not want to fall into the water. It would be cold and she was wearing some of her cutest clothes. Definitely not things she wanted to swim in.

Ira looked back. She counted the number of lilypads she had already jumped on. 6 done, 4 more to go. That was good.

Ira looked at the next row, which one should she choose? She decided on number 23. yeah.. that was it. She gently jumped on number 23 lilypad, and it sort of squished under her feet. Ooh! it was so fun!

Then she again jumped onto lilypad number 27

Now 8 done and only 2 more to go! Yayy!

The lilypad was slightly slippery under her feet and so it took Amelia longer than she had anticipated to get back on her feet. Now that she'd nearly fallen in she'd definitely be a little bit more careful in where she chose to jump.

As she was on fourteen now, and had therefore used up five of ten jumps she had to select carefully. If she didn't then she may end up not being able to complete the challenge. Since the rules specifically stated that the course had to be completed in eleven jumps. Not that she really thought that would be a problem but one never could be too certain...

Looking at the distance between the lilypads she saw that there was one that was fairly close to her. However, she'd nearly over jumped the one she was currently on and so decided that a larger gap would be a better one. Therefore Amelia leaped through the air to land on number 17. This time she didn't mess up her landing and almost immediately leaped onto number 22, which she followed up with a jump onto number 25. That landing however was less smooth and so she ended up in a crouched position. Just awesome.

Last two pads were remaining. Now it would absolutely not do to fall off!

Ira carefully shifted her weight on the pad she was standing and prepared to jump. She selected the pad in front of her, the number 31. And jumped on it.

Whew, she sighed. Last step now. She tried to jump to her adjacnt one. Gently and lightly she jumped over to number 30 pad. Yayy!! Now onto safe ground! Finally!

By now Ira was feeling a little tired. She quickly jumped out on the flat ground on the other side and sat down. Whew! That was fun! But she was glad that she had completed this game! "Yippee!" she exclaimed.

She hoped she had accumulated enough points!

Jezzabelle had ended up near the giant lilypads. They were HUUUUUGGE. She read over the rules real quick and nodded. It all seemed so simple but such a big risk that she may actually fall...

Taking a running start she pushed off from the ground and found herself landing on lilypad number 3. She wobbled a little and threw her arms out to maintain her balance. Beneath her she heard her feet squishing into the lilypad itself and she sighed. Now it was a matter of decided where the other nine of her jumps were going to go. She looked around for potential pads.

This is fun!!,' Laura thought.It was like one of those mugglegames they she played back home.Smiling, she chose lilypad 4. Oh!!Laura almost lost her balance.

She took a deep breath and jumped to lilypad 7. Well, she was a bit scared. taking a deep breath again, she jumped to lilypad 10

Amelia was beginning to regret using up so many of her jumps in the earlier stages now. She was only allowed to jump onto two more lilypads before she needed to jump onto land. And yes she was actually very close to where she needed to be, in fact she could do it in less than the eleven jumps required, more than likely. But the further along she got the more slippery the lilypads were becoming. Which was why she decided to be cautious in this jump.

Breathing in, on the exhale Amelia jumped onto the lilypad beside her. It was number 26. The jump was a close one, therefore even though she staggered slightly, it was not a difficult one to make. Now all that she needed to do was decide which lilypad in the row closest to the shore she wanted to try for. She could make a leap for two of them, well maybe three but there were only two she thought she could actually land on, and so a decision had to be made.

Closing her eyes Amelia leaped blindly and ended up on the very edge of 31. It was a miracle that she didn't end up in the lake!

Facing forward, Kurumi examined her options. There were three possible lilypad locations she could jump onto. Merlin, Kurumi was bad a making decisions like this, especially when there really was no immediate right answer. Kurumi lifted her index finger and pointed at the three lilypads.　"Eeny, meeny, miny, moe, catch the kneazle by the toe. If it hollers let it go, Eeny, meeny, miny, moe!" Lilypad 8 it was!

Bending her knees, Kurumi rocked on the lilypad and bent her knees before leaping across and onto the lilypad. Surveying the area again, Kurumi wobbled on her lilypad and attempted to keep her balance. Stumbling a bit, Kurumi jumped again and landed on lilypad 7.

Amelia took a shaky breath as she realized how close to the edge she actually was. The lilypad was squishy beneath her feet and it was swaying dangerously due to her landing. This was not as fun as she'd anticipated it being and she was so glad that all that was left now was to jump to the safety of land. If she'd had to do anything else she probably would have just jumped into the water and given up.

Or not. Because she really didn't want to be seen as a quitter.

Moving slowly backwards, so that she could help to stabilize the lilypad, and also so she'd have room to make a decent jump from, Amelia calmed herself down. She just needed one more good jump and she'd be on the shore and done with this activity.

With one final deep breath Amelia leaped from lilypad 31 and onto the safety of the shore. She wobbled for a moment on the edge of the shore before falling backwards, thankfully not falling into the water. It hurt though as Amelia had placed her hands behind her to attempt to catch herself, and had unfortunately managed to actually land on her wrist because of doing so.

Flushing red in embarrassment Amelia pushed herself back up, with the hand she hadn't landed on, and began brushing herself off. The only consolation was that she hadn't fell into the water. Because that would have been way too embarrassing.

Now, she decided to make another jump. Should she jump to 20. No that was far too dangerous!! She decided to play safe. On to 11! after the 11th lilypad, she jumped on to 14

Zhenya had ended up in front of the giant lilyPads. She looked up and saw Professor Bentley in a high chair and she said "hello professor! Good view?" then took the scene in. The lily pads were huge!! She didn't think she would be able to jump over them. But she would try. A small part inside of her wanted to fall off for the fun! But she wouldn't purposely fall off.

She walked up to the first line of lily pads and had a thought. What one first? She jumped to lily pad number three. It was tricky but not too hard. Hmm... What one will be next?

Jezzabelle sighed as she moved as far back on the lilypad as she could without feeling like it was going to tip her over and dump her right into the lake. She looked at the ones around her and decided number7 would be best. "Lilypad seven here I come!" She shout taking a running leap off of number three. She landed a little wobbly and fell but she was still on the pad and that's all that mattered. She stood up and wiped her hand off on her robes. She then turned and scouted out the next lilypad victim.

She was torn between two, number 10 and number 11. They were both in a good and well placed distance from her but which one to take to the other side? She went with what she knew about herself the best. She dislike even numbers to a certain extent so.... To 11 she jumped! She landed with pretty good balance this time.

Desiree wasn't normally one to join in bug group events. But when she heard about GIANT lily pads, her curiosity got the best of her. So here she was, staring at these ginormous lily pads! Who knows maybe she'll even win a prize. Seeing the Professor sitting up front she smiled, "Hello Professor Bentley!" she said with a small wave.

She walked up to the edge of the water and paused unsure what to do next. Looking around and seeing everyone just jumping on, she jumped onto the lilypad directly in front of her, number 1. Noticing Zhenya a few pads down she smiled and gave a wave which put her off balance a bit. She tried to jump onto number 6 but tripped, coming this close to doing the splits and falling into the freezing water below. She finally managed to steady herself. Phew. That was close, but it wasn't too hard, it was sorta like surfing!

Standing on lilypad 7, Kurumi's next decision was easy seeing as 11 was one of her favorite numbers. It was a number that had qualities of intuition, patience, honesty, sensitivity, and spirituality, and is idealistic - many of which she liked to associate with herself. Maybe not so much the intuition, she did have a wild imagination that always got in the way of that.

Anyway, Kurumi hopped with an unusual grace onto lilypad 11. "Oh, hey Jezz," Kurumi smiled, offering the girl a friendly smile before eyeing her next lilypad and leaping diagonally onto it. Having now safely landed on lilypad 16. Just as Kurumi was about to leap on to her next lilypad, Kurumi lost her footing and fell backwards onto the lilypad, bouncing a bit as if falling onto a trampoline. The lilypad hitting the water caused some water to splash here and there, a little bit getting into the lilypad she was currently lying on.

Ella smiled as she looked at the giant lilypads floating before her. She loved a challenge and she knew getting across these lilypads would be quite a feat. She looked up to see Professor Bentley keeping a careful eye on things. "Hi Professor!" Ella waved and walked over to approach the rules. After she had a good idea of what she needed to do, she sat down to stretch. She felt that she must look foolish to the others but she was a tiny girl and she was going to need all the strength and flexibility she could muster to get across.

Ella looked at the lilypads closest to the starting line. She immediately focused on number 3. It looked like a good place to start and she walked over so she was directly in front of it. Okay El, back up a bit so you can get a running start. She took a few steps back and a deep breath. It was now or never. With a nod she took off like a shot and launched herself into the air. She landed bottom first on the lilypad, almost skidding off the side. Phew! Next time, I'll be more careful! Ella stood up and focused on where she would go next.

Lilypad number 7 was Ella's next target. She took a deep breath and bent her knees, ready to jump. This time, her jump was well executed and she landed directly in the middle of the lilypad. Nice!

Ella was already tired but didn't want to stop. She looked around as the other students jumped from pad to pad and one had just fell into the water. "Nice try!" Ella hoped this girl had heard her, she felt quite bad that the girl had fallen. Bringing her attention back to the task at hand, Ella focused on number 10. She backed up a little on the lily pad and began to charge. She was in the air again and... "Ooooof!" Ella had landed on her hands and knees. "Well that was graceful..."

Straticigally, Maddy started by hopping on number 2 It was very slipery and Maddy nearly lost her footing, but she caught herself before she slipped **whew**. Boing, Boing, you cant catch me! she jumped on the lilly pad for the fun of it before taking a big leap to pad 5' she then hopped onto pad 10 to get into the centre, more options to jump if she were surrounded by lillypads.

Jezz smiled as Kurumi bounced onto the lilypad she was on. "Hey Kurumi." And then the girl had jumped off. "Bye Kurumi." She had witnessed the older girl fall. "Are you okay?" She took her running jump for the next lilypad, number 15. She landed as gracefully as she could and then squatted like a frog would. She looked at the lilypads around and looked at Kurumi's which was right next to her. Then the one right in front of her.

Number 19 it's your lucky day, Jezz thought as she stood up and too a running jump towards the giant lilypad. She had almost missed the edge of it by a centimeter but she had caught herself by forcing herself to fall forward. Some water sloshed up on her and she smelled like a lilypad. It was bound to happen though. She surveyed the area around her. "Where do I go from here?"

Ella sighed. Three down and only seven to go...and then there's just that whole jumping back on to land bit...no big deal. Ella looked around, wondering where to head next. She thought number 14 looked quite close and she could use an easy jump. She got to her feet and jumped, quite easily this time, onto the lilypad. She looked back, surprised at the distance between her and the starting line and continued on. Next would be number 18. Ella's house number was 18 and that seemed like a significant enough reason to jump there next. She mustered up the courage and with a smile, jumped. She landed quickly and began to skid towards the edge. "No, no, no, no, no." Ella's arms were flailing and she decided to throw herself down before she hit the water. Water spilled on to the pad and she was immediately cold. I yi yi, nice work El!

Lilypad jumping. This really did look like fun. Nessie watched as one by one students jumped from lilypad to lilypad. It was entertaining to watch but she was sure it be way more entertaining to play. Before she hopped onto a lilypad she decided to have some manners and greet the Herbology Professor near by. 'Morning Professor." she said with a small smile. "I'll see you in a bit." she giggled as she then set out to start jumping on the lilly pads.

Okay, here we go. Nessie carefully placed her foot on the first lillypad she saw. It was lillypad three and three was a lucky number right? She hoped for the best. This had to be done very slowly, as she knew how clumsy she was when it came to these things and she really didn't feel like falling, and then getting wet from the lake. It would take her time, but she'd finish eventually, and it wasn't like she wasn't having fun whilst she was doing..because she really was enjoying herself.

Now onto the next lillypad. Carefully Ness lifted up one foot and placed it onto lillypad seven. It was the closest lillypad to her, and she didn't want to take a chance by going to one any further. Once her right foot had landed on the lillypad she cautiously moved her left and as she did so she lost her balance. Luckily just before she could fall, she placed her foot onto the lillypad and then took a few minutes to gain her stableness. This was fun, yet challenging too.
