O____O Bad idea. If she fell now she would really hurt herself... not just a few broken bones and bruised stuff like last time... full on hospital-ridden hurt. She looked back up, taking a deep breath. "A-are you enjoying this?" she said, looking at Kennedy. He seemed to be... why would anyone enjoy this? |
Post 3 Nate was haveing so much fun, since this was his first time on a broom. He just couldn't believe he was actually flying. "This is so awsome." He said while zipping between people. He just loved it. He was hopeing he would make the quiidditch team so he could be flying more often. He thought he wouldn't like this subject. But it turns out he doesn't like it......He loves it! |
Post #3 Vickers was alternating banking right and flying straight on and have pretty much circled around the pitch. He pulled up on his broom gently to slow down his speed until he velocity ceased. Shifting slightly in his cushioned seat he stayed suspended in the air as he surveyed all the other students around him. Some were pros, he could tell, very likely they were part of the Quidditch team or have been taught to fly very young. He winced worriedly at Laci as she went careening through the air below him. Ok, so that’s what happens when one pushes off too hard. Lesson learned |

Kennedy followed her gaze and then looked back up to her. "Yeah, I do like flying," he grinned, leaning forward on the broom and then leaning to the side so that he was on Aurora's other side. "Just don't look down." That seem to get most people nervous. "First, concentrate on learning how the broom works," he said, leaning right to left, making his broom follow his directions. It was so bad once you got the hang of it. |
2 Taylor stay still for a few moments at the highest she could flew up to with the broom. She practiced her turns and flying. Taylor couldn't wait until quidditich started. She so hope she makes the team. Taylor got bored of flying in simple turns so she headed down back to the ground. Taylor gently pulled up when she got low enough to make a proper landing. |
Post 2 Now for testing out a few things and to do what Vindictus had directed, not sure how the broom would handle since it wasn't his own. Leaning forward he flew ahead, moving a good distance before leaning himself to the right and taking himself into a right-hand turn. It managed to go smoothly enough with just a bump when he first switched directions. Gideon then straightened out and let the broom take him in the new direction for several feet before leaning back to his left and turning it and himself back to his original path. Turning was done...for now at least. |
#1 Ha Ha, there we go, Oakey floated gleefully into the air. He went from losing his house two points to gaining them one! This was the greatest one point that Oakey had ever gained, He wasn't sure why though. He got to about 50 ft. into the air when he decided to "practice" his turning left and right. He went forward at a good speed then turned his broom left |
Post 4 Nate found his cousin taylor finally in the air and he flew over to her. "Hey cuz. How do you like it so far?" Nate wanted to know her answers because they weren't in the same house. |

Aurora raised her eyebrows at him, "B-but it's dangerous." she said. "I just want to earn some points this term or I would still have my feet on the ground." Her voice became very small as she remembered quite how high she was. Sure, the brooms may have been charmed only to go a certain height and she hadn't even reached it but it was still horrid. Still... might as well try to learn. She leant forwards slightly and her broom began to move again... not very fast, but fast enough thankyouverymuch. She leant slightly to the left so that her broom began to turn and straightened up almost immediately. Yes, her broom had turned, but she had felt like she was going to fall off... she tried leaning to the right and, sure enough, her broom turned slightly to the right. She still didn't trust it though... "This is horrible." she squeaked. And she had no idea how to get down... |

Post #4 Alright this time Vickers wanted to run the reverse of the pitch. He leaned forward again to get his broom to accelerate, flying a good distance across the greens before banking left. And that’s where he encountered a bit of a hitch. Either he leaned too suddenly or the broom was magnifying the defect of his left ear—it suddenly banked sharply, flipping him to his side and nearly throwing him off. ”Ahhhhh!” he yelped as he struggled to hold onto his broom, criss-crossing his legs up the shaft. Oh great, this is just perfect. This is why he sticks to bird-watching. He struggled to get himself back onto his broom, gritting his jaw as he pulls himself right side up. |

"If you follow instructions it's not." Of course, if you do risky moves then it might become dangerous, but they weren't doing that. Kennedy looked down and although he didn't feel like they were up too high, it must of have felt like that to Aurora. He grinned when he saw Aurora attempt to control the broom. "See, there you go," he said, encouragingly. He leaned to the left and then right. "Maybe you should try landing and then kicking off?" he suggested. Since they weren't up too high, Kennedy leaned forward and when his feet got close to the ground he jogged so that he wouldn't just fall on his face...like the first time he tried it. See, landing wasn't too hard. |
Post 1 Victoria listened vaguely to the instructions. Yes…kicking off from the ground…etc., etc. When it was actual time for them to get flying, Victoria happily stepped over her broomstick, ready to roll. She first kicked off from the ground with great force, hard enough so that she gets a great kick off. Like always, Victoria was able to kick off high in the air with no difficult effort. |

Landing... right. She watched Kennedy do it. He seemed to find it easy enough... Lean forwards... eek! Aurora leant forwards the tiniest bit, then a bit more... oh Merlin this was terrifying... she had to fight against her instincts to pull the broom up sharply. Then her feet were on the ground... but she was going a lot faster than she had thought... She stumbled and fell over, getting her knees and hands muddy as she landed on all fours, the broom dropping beneath her. So. Landing was difficult. She should probably try that again... but that would mean taking off again. Eeeep. Just the idea of it was scary. She was shaking slightly but she took a few deep breaths and glanced up, "How come everyone else finds this so easy?" she said, watching people zooming up and down the pitch. The broom was still laying lifeless on the floor from where she had dropped it so she stood next to it and put her right hand out. "Up." The broom raised slightly, wobbled a bit, and dropped to the ground. It took her another two tries until it unwillingly placed itself into her hand. Clearly the broom was telling her not to keep trying... But then she should probably try the landing bit again... "Should we try again..?" she asked, tucking a stray red hair back into the ribbon she had secured it with. |
Post #5 He draws in a deep breath to calm himself from the nearly falling off his broom. Again he opened his jaw and tried to pop his ears, getting that familiar frustration of wishing he had ears (and therefore balance) just like everybody else. Slightly hesitant he looked around the pitch, various clumsiness all around him. Did they have faulty hearing like he did? Was that a good enough excuse to ask his Head of House if he could get back on the ground? He looked at the He creased his lips into a straight line. He should at least be able to bank left once. He cant fly about turning right forever. He’d never get to his destination if he ever decides to use a broom to get anywhere. He leaned forward again to pick up speed, then nuuuuudged his broom to go left. At first it didn’t feel like he was changing directions at all, but when he looked around the tree that he used as a mental marker was already off somewhere to his right. Well, it was blimp-paced, but it was progress. |
4 Taylor launched back into the air. She flew over to her cousin, "What is it like being a hufflepuff, cuz?" Taylor smiled and praticed a few turns. She flew back over to him. Taylor flew a circle around her cousin then stopped beside him. "Like flying?" |
Post 3 Harlow flew around in circles till she got dizzy and had to land. She looked for a clear spot and dipped the handle of the broom down toward the ground. Instead of the slow decent she planned on she practically nose dived toward the ground. She yanked up hard on the handle to keep from plowing into the pitch and digging her own grave. The broom shot up from under her and she fell backwards with a hard plop onto the pitch. The air whooshed out of her lungs and stars burst in front of her eyes. "I'm ok," she wheezed when her lungs started working again. |
Flying Again Alicia had that usual confidence inside her again. She had been waiting for flying lessons since school started and she was so excited. She had been flying since she was four and was very good. She wanted to try-out for the Gryffindor Team but she wasn't sure if she would be ready. There goes her confidence again. Alicia got in line with the other students, her school broom in hand. Alicia thought about her new Nimbus 2000 at home and how she missed it. But, she supposed it was better to fly than not to fly at all. She listened to the teacher's instructions just to be sure, and kicked off the ground with a firm foot. She zoomed straight into the air, perfectly. She has glad she hadn't lost her touch and smiled to herself. Once she was high enough, she stopped and hovered in the air to see how the other students were doing. |

"Maybe...because they like it," he shrugged. He wasn't sure as to why it came easier to some people, but to him it did because he REALLY liked it. He couldn't help, but feel proud that Aurora got the broom to obey her command. "Yeah. The more you practice the better you'll get," he said, smiling. Kennedy mounted the broom and kicked off slowly. He was about five feet off the ground. "Now, remember that when you're ready to land don't just stop because then you'll fall...just jog it off." He rose up into the air and then flew down and demonstrated what he just said. Hopefully he didn't confuse her even more. "You ready?" he asked, mounting his broom once more. |
#4 Silvia brought the broom to a halt in midair and just hovered for a moment, trying to take everything in. She was at Hogwarts, she had already learned a few spells, and she was flying! Everything was so wonderful and exciting. She watched the other students; a few were below her and a few above. Some of the younger students were struggling a bit, but most looked like they were doing well. It felt so strange to be up in the air with her feet dangling far from the ground, but not in a bad way. She felt so free up here, and flying seemed to be coming easily to her, though that could be because she always had her head in the clouds, even when she wasn't on a broom. Thinking that she shouldn’t just be hovering for long but actually flying around, she turned her broom and made to circle around the entire pitch, not just the small circles she had been making a few minutes earlier. |
Post 1 Flying, right. João eyed his broom. He wasn't scared, not at all. On the contrary, he felt reckless and wanted to speed as much as this old school broom would let him. No, his hesitation was why Louisa wasn't at this class. But, as soon as he realised he had paused to think that; he shook it off and threw his foot over the broom, as comfortable as someone accustomed with a broom. Then, kicking the floor lightly enough for a neat taking off, he raised his broom up in the air to get higher. The wind felt quite resfreshing and he even smiled to himself as he gazed over the school ground, still getting higher in the air slowly. There was no rush for now, and he wanted to enjoy the wind. |

2nd Post After Oakey's brief Break he decided it was time to ascend and descend a little. He leaned forward just a bit and the broom began to go down. Tipping the Broom up he then began to reach about 70 ft. into the air, then 80 ft. He wasn't sure how how he was exactly so he began to descend again to about 30 ft. Now just for a little fun he turned himself to he right and started going in circles around the class. |
