Post 4. Conversations on mid air? How awesome was that? Yes, Beezus was merely observing her classmates who were talking whilst flying. And certainly, it was such an interesting sight. Not to mention that she was already having a nice sight above just be looking at the Hogwarts grounds below. "Hello you guys!" the young Ravenclaw shouted enthusiastically at the other students as she made another sharp turn in mid air. When she was feeling a bit dizzy because of turning around too much, she decided to just settle on an area for a while. She leaned forward the broom handle and moved upwards then she pulled it back again.. And there, she just hovered. |
Post 3 Feeling great, Ira leaned a bit forward to speed up. The broom whizzed past several others taking her around the ground. She wanted to go a bit higher.. but the broom didn't want to it seemed. Then she remembered that they had been charmed to not go above 100 feet. So she maneuvered her broom a little lower and flied around. She looked around at others. So many were flying! SPOILER!!: Sophie When Ira went a little down, she saw a young girl flying on broom, seemingly very happy and excited of flying around. What was the harm in knowing each other? So Ira flew next to her, "Hi!! Are you a first year? Are you enjoying yourself?" |

Hearing what Beezus had to say, Kurumi frowned. "Beezus, wait," Kurumi said as she reached out for the girl, wobbling considerably on her broom. Bad idea. Keep both hands on the handle Hollingberry. Seeing that Beezus was already zooming off, Kurumi sighed. The only way to be able to talk with her now was to...soar at the same level she was. Couldn't Beezus have stayed at a nice ten MAYBE twelve feet off the ground? Reluctantly, Kurumi pulled up on her broom and leaned forward a bit so that she could rise into the air. Thankfully, her school broom seemed to be responding to her, better than previous brooms in the past. Still, she missed her old broom...the one that Professor Vindictus had burned the pieces. Shaking her head, Kurumi moved sluggishly through the air, swerving every now and then to avoid any students that happened to be speeding by. Therapy. That is what this lesson was. Therapy. |

There was Beezus. "Hi Beezus!" Ira shouted back. Mid air conversations were great! Seeing Beezus had come to a stop and was hovering around, Ira too slowed down by leaning a bit forward carefully so as to not lose her balance, she came to a stop a bit ahead of Beezus and hovered. |

And it certainly looked like Sophie was having fun and was way beyond excited. Ira thought back to her first flying lesson, where she had been scared stiff and had started flying only from fear of professor! Feeling enough of flying around, Ira hovered around Beezus and Sophie, making small talk. "I love flying... but my only problem is I get very nervous while starting. But once I'm up, I never wish to come down!" Why just hover around? Ira made short circles around both of them, leaning a bit to her left and going anti-clockwise. She went up and down a little, making a kind of wave motion. Ira was thoroughly enjoying herself! |
Post 5. SPOILER!!: Ira SPOILER!!: Kurumi "WEEEEEE!!" she exclaimed as she was going towards the ground like a rocket a when she was only a few feet away from hitting the grass covered pitch, she leaned forward and her broom swished and moved upwards once more. On her way back up, she saw Kurumi again. "Kurumi!" she waved. She wasn't going to hold any grudges whatsoever even if the girl won't talk to her. SPOILER!!: Sophie |
Post #3 SPOILER!!: Sophie and Beezus Messer was really impressed with the girl. She managed to balance herself while waving at him. Wow! It seems there's still first year girl that was cool like Sophie. He raised his eyebrows. Older students? "Who? You mean our house prefect?" Or maybe she mean Lewis 'the lost boy'? The eleven years old saw his housemate made a few circles in the air. "Not bad, Sophie." he said. He speed up his broom a little then tried to turn his broom left and right and left again. When he was finished, he saw Sophie already flying near him again. "Have you ever fly before?" he said a little louder because the wind was kinda strong up here. Before he could hear Sophie answer, he heard someone was shouting and he almost lose his grip in his broom. What's with the girl and shouting? Didn't she know that its dangerous to scare people up here? |
#5 SPOILER!!: Ira Sophie was feeling a lot more confident now! She could almost do some loops! Wait, no. She couldn't. It was best not to do those crazy things for now. It was her first flying lesson after all. So she decided just to zigzag a bit more before stopping next to Ira. "Nice to meet you, Ira!" she smiled. It was nice getting to know people from other houses. "Oh, you should have seen me a few minutes ago!" Sophie laughed. "I was totally freaking out! I just came up here because I was afraid of losing house points!" she turned around to fly a bit more, but stopped before doing so and looked at Ira again. "I'm a Hufflepuff, by the way!" she added smiling. SPOILER!!: Beezus(?) Sophie smiled and managed to wave quickly again. "Hi! Yes, I'm knew here!" she said grabbing the broom with both hands again and shaking her feet. She went up and down a little bit more, to feel the air on her hair, messing it all up. She giggled. "What's your name? And house? And year?" she asked curiously, since the girl didn't tell her any of those things. She noticed she had asked so many questions and grinned, shaking the hair out of her face. SPOILER!!: Messer Sophie made a big circle around the girls and went to the other side of the group, getting closer to Messer so she would be able to hear him better. "I don't really know..." she said thinking. "I just remember that I saw you talking to some older people!" She smiled when Messer complimented her flight. "Thanks! You're not bad either!" she said excitedly. She was indeed having fun and didn't feel like going back down to the ground anymore. "No, this is the first time I'm flying!" Sophie looked down at the ground. They were hiiigh! That felt so weird! In a awesome way!! "What about you?" |
Post #4 Sophie and a little bit of Kurumi too xD Messer was doing some circular motion with his broom while Sophie talked to the other girls. When he was about to return to where Sophie was, he saw the female Gryffindor Prefect flying nearby and she didn't look so good. "Kurumi, are you alright?" he asked. She seem...he don't know tense? Then suddenly Sophie was already flying beside him. Seriously this girl was really good. "Thanks" he gave the girl a grin. "I've fly before. My daddy thought me how but he never allowed me to fly higher than 20 feet though" Really where the fun in that? |

Did Beezus really have to zoom around like that on her broom? Kurumi forced herself to rise higher up in the air, her hands gripping around the handle even tighter each foot she did. When she was somewhere around 25 feet, Kurumi leaned forward to increase her speed and glided forward after Beezus, only to see her make a dive towards the ground. SIGH. Kurumi leaned to the left, making a wide U-turn in the air and hovered there for a bit. When Beezus came zooming back up, Kurumi rolled out of the way, but still managed to offer the girl a smile and a wave. Quote:
"I'm...alright," she said with a small nod. Cookie cutters...think about the cookie cutters... |
#1 Right... Flying... Aurora had no idea why she hadn't run away as soon as she'd got here but she hadn't. She repeated Professor Vindictus' instructions over and over in her head. Okay, pushing off... Eurgh, she really didn't want to do this. She glanced upwards and noticed that almost everyone but her was in the air already. Nobody seemed to be struggling too much. Maybe it wasn't that bad. She gripped her broom and, taking a deep breath, pushed off from the ground. Oh no no no no this was horrible. Aurora wanted to close her eyes but she knew she'd probably hurt herself if she did. There was various reasons she didn't like brooms and the fact that this one was now wobbling and shaking slightly didn't help. She took another deep breath and tried to steady herself, loosening her grip on the handle of the broom so that her knuckles weren't white with fear. It was alright... she wasn't going to fall off this time. Hopefully. |

Sophie hovered over a couple of more times the area where they were before flying. She was loving to see Hogwarts grounds from up there. She noticed how much of the school she still had to explore! |

That place she had chosen was up above. High over the other students. Beezus tilted, tacked and angled off high above the Pitch. She was seemingly over 86-92 feet from the ground. She'd still be able to hear Vindictus' whistle here right? |

The truth was that Ira didn't want to come down yet. She was tired, but yet, she wanted to fly some more! |

Post 7 Along with Sophie, Ira went to make a big round trip on her broom. She leaned a little forwards to pick up speed and whoosh! went her broom. She would have almost lost her balance if she hadn't been holding onto it. that reminded her not to act rashly when on the broom! "I love it when we are going fast on brooms and air hits my face!" Ira exclaimed looking sideways to Sophie. "Hey, Sophie, duck!" she shouted and ducked herself to miss and oncoming student. "Lets go in a curve" saying so, Ira leaned a bit outward and gently, very gently, picked up speed too. This was life! This was so wonderful! |
Post #3 Now that she was slowly getting used to the hovering, Nora decided to allow her broom to take her higher, but... it was going up, up, up... and she eventually reached about twenty feet high off the ground by the time she started to freak out. "Stop, stop!" The girl tried to beg the broom to stop going higher, but of course it was stubborn and didn't listen. But then she remembered the instructions, and nudged the broom handle towards the ground as gentle as possible. And guess what? It worked! Waiting until the broom was slowly making its way back down to the ground, she took a better grip of the handle and slowly pulled it up a little, and had the most gracious landing she would ever have. Taking a short break to try and keep telling herself that nothing bad was going to happen up there, she pushed off the ground again and decided to learn how to control the speeding as well. |

Gee, Ira was going even faster now in the curve! Sophie tried her best to keep up with the Gryffindor and was side-by-side with her again a few seconds later. "AWESOME!!" she thought to herself, smiling widely. |

"Shall we go a little slow? Professor won't like this much speed, I think.. And besides, you have just learnt flying!" Saying so, Ira herself leaned back just a bit, just enough to slow down her broom. |

Kurumi leaned forward on her broom again to propel herself forward. He could follow her if he wanted to, she wasn't going to be zooming around like she had once done as a Seeker. Nope, she was going to keep at a nice relaxed pace and make a loop around the pitch with a few figure eights if she could manage it. Leaning even more forward now, Kurumi picked up speed and continued to make her way towards the opposite end of the pitch in a relatively straight line. |

Smiling, she said to Sophie, "Yeah.. That was just real awesome! I loved it!" |
post 1 Laura looked around for some reason she was now nervous of taking of on a broom, it wasn't like Quidditch tryouts after all where you did it because you had to if you wanted to make the team and you was always focused on something else but here there was nothing to focus on once you were off the ground you know that it was dangerous and scary after all there wasn't any seatbelt or anything like that surely they should have put seatbelt on broomstick maybe then there wouldn't be as many accident as there was with them. Laura stared at the broom she knew if she didn't do what the Professor said then she would be in trouble but well the thought of her feet not touching the ground made her feel sick, after all if they were suppost to fly then surely they would have wings right like birds did. Laura looked around to see what the other was doing and saw loads of them already practicing taking off and landing but Laura didn't know if she wanted to or now, now should she ask someone for help or not. |
