Down the staircase to the left of the main staircase in the Entrance Hall lie the dungeons of Hogwarts. In order to reach the various classrooms, dungeons, and the Slytherin Common Room you have to make your way through the creepy, dark, corridors... |

Nate was hiding on a long dark wall. He had a recording with some parseltounge on it. He was waiting for someone to come along so he could scare them.

His light brown eyes glanced up to his own forehead before returning to Aspen's own gaze, and in the next moment his expression had broken into a warm smile. "You can hear that I'm thinking?" he repeated with amusement in his expression. That seemed to be what she was saying. She couldn't necessarily hear his thoughts, she sounded like she was just saying that she could hear...that he was thinking.
Cornelius thought for a moment, scanning over her expression as she removed her finger from his forehead, returning her hands to her lap as though sheepish of her own actions. She seemed honestly curious to know what he was thinking about, but at the same time managed to seem as though she wasn't pressuring him to speak. In the moment, he felt like he could talk to her if he chose, or remain quiet, and she wouldn't push him one way or the other. It was a surprisingly nice choice to have.
Gently, he took one of her hands in both of his own and pulled just slightly at her finger, so she was pointing as she had been just moments before. An amused smile still playing on his lips, he touched her fingertip back to his forehead as she had done before, and returned his gaze to her own. As though her finger being on his head was the only way she could truly hear what he was thinking, Cornelius spoke just a second later, his hand still holding hers up. "You confuse me, Aspen Odessa," he admitted softly, his gaze stuck to her own. It was obvious that his words weren't meant in a bad way, as a soft smile still played on his mouth, but he was being completely honest with her. He had no idea how to proceed with Aspen, she threw any smooth instincts he may have had straight out the window with her bat snacks the day he met her.
It didn't make sense to grin at what Cornelius was saying to her, but how could she not? He was embracing her theory that she could "hear" him think, and now using her finger as if a LINK to interpret his thoughts. Clearly he didn't mind her fingers on his forehead. "I don't mean to," Aspen sort of apologized. "I'd offer to explain or help de-confuse you, but I'll probably just make it worse."
But there WAS one thing she could do. With Aspen's free hand, she reached for one of his at her own her forehead. She gently stole one, latched onto his forefinger, and brought it to HER forehead. "Try me?" she suggested. "Better? Less confused? Do I make more sense suddenly?"

MORE Aspen-Cornelius experiences to record! Brain-linked? The smile on Cornelius's face only widened as Aspen kind of apologized, assuring him that she didn't mean to confuse him and suggesting that she'd even offer to explain or de-confuse him, if she wasn't afraid of making it worse. "That's okay," he decided, vague amusement still in his expression.
But it was only as Aspen took his own hand and placed one of his fingers on her forehead that his expression fell into a completely amused state, his light brown eyes scanning her expression as she suggested he try her. "Not really," he muttered with a soft chuckle, his smile widening as she asked if she suddenly made sense to him now. They must've looked like two complete freaks, each holding the others hand up to one another's forehead, sitting in the middle of the dungeon corridor. But he didn't mind. In fact, Cornelius kind of stared at Aspen as though she was the most fascinating thing ever.
Just for a few moments, that was, before a strand of her hair once more fell in front of her features and brushed against the back of his hand. He moved his finger from her forehead, bringing his hand up to once again gently move the hair away from her eyes.

And the weird part? It really was okay, just as Cornelius said. Again Aspen had to awe at how relaxed she felt with Cornelius, even when she spewing out random things about dog whistles and doing odd things to his head. How did the new Ravenclaw end up being like a little piece of home? "Probably for the best," Aspen laughed, too, "You might be permanently confused if you could hear all my thoughts."
....there it was again. He was looking at the puzzle piece again. It hadn't changed since the first day, the first time, when Aspen nearly fell out of her chair. The difference now is that Aspen didn't have anywhere to fall, no tables to crawl under, no books to hide under. All she had was his hand, conveniently located right at her ear. Aspen took his hand and used it to HIDE the top half of her face. She was still smiling, but... "Cornelius..." WHAT are you looking at???

Nate saw two people walking by. He started to play the Parseltounge on the tape. Hopefully he would get a good scare out of this. He was glad it wasn't one of the teachers. If it was a teacher he wouldn't have played the tape. http://parseltonguetranslator.warner...rseltongue.php

Cornelius couldn't quite hide his amusement as Aspen informed him that it might've been for the best that he couldn't hear all of her thoughts, as he might've been permanently confused. He gave a brief shrug, still finding her to be excessively amusing to him, and his grin only widened at what she did next.
He watched as she took his hand and used it to hide the top half of her face, only exposing her smile to him. "What?" he complained playfully as she said his name, letting out a soft chuckle.
Before he could think too much about it, he removed his own hand from over her eyes, leaning towards her playfully with a soft smile on his expression. "You have no reason to hide, Aspen," Cornelius announced, raising his eyebrows at her as though daring her to contradict it. "Of all the things at this school you seem to appreciate so much, you give yourself an embarassingly small amount of credit."
In the next moment Cornelius had released her hands, starting to get up from his seat on the floor. "I've gotta go," he announced reluctantly, having just glanced at the time for the first time since he'd gotten there. "Do me a favor though?" he suggested, taking a backwards step towards the exit. "Keep your eye out for an invitation to a study engagement." He paused, furrowing his brows just slightly as though considering something. "...and stop covering your face up. I like to see it."
With that, he turned around and started out of the dungeon corridor.

Aspen was taken aback at what Cornelius was saying, yet somehow.... still managed to feel complimented, too? How did that work? She felt scolded and happy about it simultaneously. It didn't make any sense at all.
She managed to nod, in spite of being a little embarrassed at his words and abrupt exit. But being Aspen meant she'd take his requests and favors VERY seriously.
Or at leas the first favor. She'd definitely look for an invite.
After Cornelius left, some weird noises started from around the corner of the dungeon, so she took that as her cue to get her back and GO. Egbert came to her pretty quickly and Aspen wondered ALLLLLL the way back to her dorm, pondering over where Cornelius might have ran off to. |

Exciting the Slytherin Dungeons, Zhenya stood there and looked up and down the corridor for 5 minutes. Was Raven there? She kept her ears on alert to listen for footsteps, but it was eerie quiet. Her lower lip trembled a bit, because she was just so worried about her best friend. What had happened to her in the past few weeks that had made her completely detach from school and friendships? She needed to find her and talk to her, but she didn't know where she was.
Shaking her head, she turned and walked up towards the ground level. Maybe she was in the Library? That's where she would look.

Sierra didn't care for decorating. She didn't care to make things beautiful, nor did she really want to give anybody flowers. The only person she'd actually consider giving them to had apparently already gotten some, as when Sierra had passed by Lafay's door, she'd seen a bouquet already sitting there. So she'd turned right back around and headed off in the opposite direction.
Now she found herself walking along the dungeon corridor with a big vase of flowers in her hand. She felt silly holding them, but seeing as everyone else was doing the same homework assignment, she guessed they'd understood. ...and if they didn't, they'd just have to suffer through the glaring of Sierra Greingoth.
...but wait. Why was she still holding the flowers anyway? They'd been told to just decorate the castle pretty much, and seeing as the dungeons weren't all that decorated... Grinning in a satisfied sort of way, Sierra sat the flowers down alongside the wall then turned and walked off.

Tayla couldn't think of anything darker in the castle than the dungeons. She didn't like coming down here alone, but she wasn't one to just walk away, knowing there wasn't anything to be scared of - at least, she hoped there wasn't. "Hogwarts is the safest place I know," she reminded herself, trying not to change her mind. Her vase of white roses in hand, she looked around the dark corridor for a nice spot to put the vase in. "It would be rather mysterious...even romantic...to find roses down here..." she thought.
A sudden sound took her by surprise and almost made her drop the glass vase and flowers. She looked around finding no one. "Probably a rat or something..." she said, goosebumps running down her arms and back. Tayla decided to get it over with. She put the vase on one side of the corridor where a little light somehow managed to get through. Admiring it for a quick second, she then turned and walked quickly back out of the dungeons.

The dungeons were perhaps among the less-than-likely locations one might find Emrys Bateman, after, of course, large gatherings, raucous hallways conversations, close quarters with pretty girls and, of course, a sporting field.
But in the dungeons he was, robe pulled tightly around him. It wasn't cold, necessarily, but he shivered all the same. He was just looking for a quiet place to gather his thoughts, after that disaster of a seminar, and the dungeon was about as far as you could get from the towers without going outside.
A single curl fell across Emrys' forehead as he paced back and forth, arms crossed in front of his chest as if he could hug warmth to himself.
Damp. That's what the dungeons were. Damp. And probably mildew-y.
This self-loathing thing was going to be murder on his allergies.

This self-loathing thing was going to be murder on his allergies. After a lovely afternoon with Taryn down by the duck pond, the Gryffindor needed to get some studying done in the Library for his swiftly approaching finals. So after saying goodbye to his girlfriend by the entrance to the Slytherin Common Room, August turned around and walked quickly down the corridor to the parts of the Castle with fresh and un-damp air.
Honestly he had no idea how the Snakes didn't aways have colds or other sicknesses living in the Dungeons all the time. There was a reason prisoners of old were held in dungeons instead of the nice warm towers. As he turned another corner, the Gryffindor stopped and looked at the only other person in view.
The kid from the Entrancing Charms Seminar was just standing there. Had he watched him and Taryn walk by? He better know not to start anything by telling her about what had happened with Kurumi. That was already taken care of. "Hey, you. Don't bother telling Taryn about what happened. She already knows." He crossed his arms and looked at the boy trying to act tough but failed miserably. He knew that he had had a girlfriend didn't he? Obviously he was the one down here spying.

That's who he was to just about everyone here. That kid. He didn't have a name.
Turning slowly, he looked, and his heart sank. Of all the people to run into, it had to be that kid. Emrys felt his stomach churn as his eyes went wide. "W-w-why w-w-w-w-would I d-d-do that," he managed to spit out. Of course, the worry that it would somehow come up when the girl had sat next to him at Quidditch has been there, but he kept his mouth shut.
He looked at the kid and how he was standing and suddenly felt very uneasy. While the Gryffindor might not have thought he looked tough, to Emrys it was a positively aggressive stance. "I-I-I-I d-d-don't w-want any t-t-tr-trouble," he added, his own arms still crossed and hands wrapped up in his sleeves.

August was a little suprised by the boy's reaction. Surely he wasn't that intimidating was he? He had only been in a fight once back at his Muggle school and he was on the losing end of that one. So what was this boy so afraid of? Well at least maybe he would stay away from Taryn. "You won't get any if you stay away from her. I've already taken care of it." He let him know that bit of information so that the need to tell her the truth would be quenched.
August eyed the boy again. "What are you doing down here anyways?" If he was indeed not spying. The lion wasn't one hundred percent convinced yet.

August eyed the boy again. "What are you doing down here anyways?" If he was indeed not spying. The lion wasn't one hundred percent convinced yet. Emrys dropped his hands, a look of confusion clearly plastered on his face. Stay away from... From who? From Kurumi? From.. what was her name... Taryn? He bit the bottom of his lip nervously, trying to figure out which one -- not that he intended to see either of them ever after what had happened in the seminar.
So, rather than say anything, he nodded meekly.
He felt the other boy's eyes on him and looked up to hear him question Emrys' presence in the dungeon.
Avoiding. Hiding. Trying to disappear. Wanting to die of embarrassment... "Nothing," he whispered, still avoiding eye contact. This was clearly not some place he could be ever again and he thought to turn and leave but he was scared to turn his back. "I'm sorry," he whispered, for really no reason. But clearly he was somehow in the wrong and maybe an apology would save his skin.

Cass shuffled down the dark, drafty, corridor and yawned loudly as she ran her fingers through her tangled curls in an attempt to put some semblance of order into them, but failed.
Usually, she held herself up with much more dignity - you know head tilted up, back straight, perfect curls and all that - but she just felt absolutely exhausted at the moment. She had been up all night, studying when she could have been sleeping soundly, and now she was paying the cost with dark bags under her eyes and her already pale skin - looking even paler at the loss of sleep, already going at 2 nights in a row.
The young snake then checked her watch and stared at it uncomprehendingly for a few minutes - here she was, checking to see of she would have enough time to squeeze in a short nap, but unable to do so since her brain stopped working, again due to the lack of sleep. "I need to get some rest." She groaned softly as she massaged her temples "or a sugar rush."

By now, she was just holding one strap of it while it dangled leveling with her feet. As much as the other students was, she too was tired and exhausted. This term's finals were seemingly draining the magic out of her and she needed an energy boost.
Not that it required to be in the form of a potion or something materialistic, all she needed was some talk of encouragement from someone she knew she could lean on. And well, that someone happened to be a Slytherin. This was the reason she was half walking-half running on the Dungeon Corridors right now. Hoping to catch up to the someone whom she learned just made her way down to their Common Room.
Maybe she was just fast, or that person was just too slow because at the moment, Beezus was seeing her silhoutte a few steps ahead. With excitement filling her in, the young eaglette ran to the girl and hugged her from the back. "Caaaaaaaaaaaaaass!" she exclaimed.

With excitement filling her in, the young eaglette ran to the girl and hugged her from the back. "Caaaaaaaaaaaaaass!" she exclaimed. Looking up from the blank stare that she had been giving her watch, Cass looked up and frowned, she could have sworn she heard someone calling her from somewhere down the corridor...on the other hand, it could have just been the wind or Peeves being nasty again.
But then again, since when did Peeves, or the wind, sound so much like Beezus?
The blonde stopped her trek towards the common room and moved to turn around - just to make sure that she was going crazy from sleep deprivation, but stopped when someone suddenly landed on her back, hugging her from behind. "What in the name of--?" She exclaimed in surprise as she looked over her shoulder before her face launched into a huge grin as she rolled her eyes at her assailant. "Beezus!" She said happily as she unlatched the girl's arms from around her neck before turning around to face the haggard-looking eagle "What are you doing down here?"

As she saw the huge grin on the face of the Slytherin, Beezus just couldn't help but smile too. "Well, I just happened to be here because I wanted to wish you good luck on your owls and tell you that I'll miss you....during the summer." Term was ending. They were leaving. And she didn't even had a clue if she'd be back for the next term or not.
Daaaang! She even feeling sentimental right now. She really didn't want to leave. But what choice did she have? Beezus just hoped her Aunt would take time to reconsider. With a shrug, she moved close to the girl and hugged her again. The eaglette wasn't planning to tell her about the dilemma she was facing at the moment but she hoped the hug had conveyed the message she wanted to tell the Slytherin. That was very thankful to have met her.
