Regardless of the chilly weather during the winter season and the cool stone colored tones of the room, the dueling arena was comfortably warm. The arena itself would perhaps look different to some of the older students if they were able to get a look at it in the past. The dueling platform, target dummies, and even the stands were moved around in different locations, pushed to the side mostly, leaving a nice big empty space in the middle of the room. In that space were the familiar deep purple colored mats from the previous lesson lined up accordingly, including the deep red colored mat up at the front in-between the stands where Professor Romanos was currently seated, and in front of each purple mat was something that looked like a miniature tray. There won't be any food during the lesson unfortunately, but these trays will be acting as your desks. Unlike the last lesson, the room is illuminated and practically glowing from the winter sunlight streaming through the windows, giving the area a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Perhaps even make a few sleepy, but never fear. There will be no time to sleep during this class. And do ignore the added doorway in the back of the room. As strange as it's placement is, no one is allowed back there.
OOC: Please come in and take a seat on one of the mats [and be familiar with the rules and expectations]. The lesson will begin in about 12 18 hours or so.
Class has officially begun! Please don't post arriving late. Jump in as if your character has been here the entire time.
Final Task
Use of the Disarming and Shield Charms ONLY.
1st - 4th Years = No sense of SOUND
5th - 7th Years = No sense of SIGHT. You are all blindfolded.
It is alright to be disoriented and not get things right on the first couple of tries. Perhaps your aim is off or you can't say the spell correctly because you can't hear yourself speak. No one is perfect. It is okay. The Professor will be keeping a close eye on things, so please, no fatal injuries. And perhaps no drastic damage to the arena either. It's rather sturdy.
I'll give you a few days to RP, and we'll come to a close on things around the 13th.
Minerva tried hard not to lose her wand this time, but she knew it would happen. When her wand left her hand again she smiled "good job Justin." she then went over to pick her wand back up. As she got her wand she snapped back up facing Justin. My turn she thought and traced a d with her wand "Expelliarmus" she watched as his wand was hit by the spell.
Justin was taken by surprise when Minerva disarmed him. He didn't even know she wanted to try it yet. He shrugged and went to go pick up his wand and get ready for her to take it from him again. " Well done, Min. Let's see you do that again. " he smiled.

"So I guess its my turn now?" Because she already had her and now its his again, yeah? "Umm..Are you ready?" He hoped she is ready. Messer pointed her wand towards his partner and made the D movement with it "Expelliarmus!" The young badger saw a jet of light shot from his wand toward Ella but it disappeared before it reached Ella. "Err..Sorry. Let me try that again." He pointed his wand again and did proper the wand movement "Expelliarmus!" he said clearly. Like before a jet of light shot from his wand toward Ella.
Ella smiled. "Thanks. I wasn't sure I'd be able to do it." She was shocked actually, not expecting Messer's wand to fly from his hand. She felt pretty proud of herself but it was fleeting, knowing that Messer was going to go again.
"Yeah, your turn. Hit me with your best shot." She smiled, thinking of the song her mother liked to sing. She felt her body tense up a bit as Messer pointed his wand her way, the nervous feeling coming over her once again. She flinched as the jet of light streamed towards her, only to disappear before it hit her. She shrugged. "Maybe try to make a clearer d movement?" she suggested, not knowing if it would be helpful. "No problem, I'm ready." She stood up straight, waiting for Messer's next attempt. As she watched, the same stream of light came from Messer's wand in her direction, only it seemed stronger this time. She felt it hit her hand and suddenly, her wand was flying through the air. "Woah." was all she could say. "Messer, that was a good one!" she said, smiling as she bent down to pick up her wand.
"Mind if I try again?" she asked. She figured she might as well. She got into position, holding her wand towards Messer. "Ready?" She scrunched her forehead in concentration while making the d motion and said, "Expelliarmus!" This time the jet of light was instantaneous, headed right for Messer's wand. "Wicked!" she said, looking at her wand in awe.
A path is not simply for walking, its purpose lies in moving forward and improving oneself.

Daichi laughed out loud as he heard that and as he turned around he looked at Jory in amusement. He knew he was trying to make him feel better and it had worked. "Yeah , i'm sorry" he said with one last chuckle.
Daichi smiled as Jory agreed to go first and tried to study his movement as he did the spell. He held his wand in his right hand and as he saw a blast of light coming his way. His first instinct was to dodge the sparks but refrained from doing so since this was still an practise.
He could do the next thing that came to his mind and that was clutching his Phoenix wand tightly in his hand. But it didn't work, as the spell landed on his hand, he felt the wand slip out of his hand and fell on the ground. "Woah" he said and looked at Jory before bending down to grab his wand.
"That was good!" he held his thumb up. Now it was his turn. Seeing that Jory could do it, Daichi figured he could do the same thing so he pointed his wand at the Hufflepuff. "Expelliar---" eeeeeh what was it called again?! O__o Oh right he remembered. Pointing his wand back he shouted "ExpelliaRIUS" obviously saying the incantation wrong.
Daichi looked at his wand as nothing had happened. "Yah! stupid thing why don't you work?!" he pouted as he frowned at his wand and shook it up and down when.....

Yes and he's kinda jealous with her because she did the charm right but the again he had this weakness in learning a new charm. Nevertheless he was happy that his partner succeed.
He grinned widely when he noticed that his third attempts were succeed. He finally managed to disarm his partner this time not himself. Go him! "Thanks." he said with that stupid grin in his face.
"No. Go ahead. Its your turn anyway." Besides Professor Romanos hasn't give them a green light to move on to the next charm so it mean they still could practice the disarming charm. "Ready!" Messer said. Like before a jet of light come from the tip of Ella's wand toward him fast and it flew his wand even before he had time to blink his eyes. "Nice one, Ella." he picked his wand again from the floor. He seem did that a lot today.
"Mind if I try the spell again?" he asked Ella. But before he could hear Ella answer, he heard a loud BAAM!
"BOMB! Its a BOMB!"

She sighed slightly, never went down well when you knew it was gonna happen ... she felt the sudden urge to use the shield charm but as the yoga maniac stated it was only the disarming spell that was to be used! LuLu closed her eyes tight and opened one before it was cast! She felt her grip go weak and watched it fling out of her hands very lightly though she wouldn't say it went far ''No, no you did well, considering neither of us did it before,'' she smiled back at her and bent down for her wand ''Umm.. sure,'' Oh? This would be fun! ''Expelliarmus!'' she said pointed at Daisy's hand and making the 'D' wand movement! She whistled slightly ''Ummm go ahead,'' she frowned
'Yeah,' Daisy chuckled, 'I'm not too great, just need more practice.' She nodded at LuLu, ready for the spell to be used on her. 'Wow,' she grinned, as her wand flew out of her hand with a little more force that LuLu's had done. 'You're better than me,' she said, turning to pick up her wand. 'I'll have another go.' She started at LuLu's wand for a moment, telling it to move in her head, and moved her wand in a 'D' shape. 'Expelliarmus!' Daisy smiled, she had definitely improved a little.

Before Oakey could finish saying her name though a bright stream of light shot from the her wand and hit him right in his forearm. His wand went flying through the air and landed a couple of feet right in front of Alyssa.
Alyssa almost flinched when she saw the beam of light hit Oakey on his forearm and saw his wand headed towards her. She tried to reach for it, but missed and it fell clattering on the floor.
She picked up his wand and ran to him."Are you okay? I saw the charm hit your forearm. I'm not sure whether it is supposed to do that. I would like to try one more time, if it is okay with you. Then it'll be your turn to try all you want. I want to see whether I can catch the wand this time. Here's yours back." Alyssa asked as she handed him back his wand.
Then she ran back to where she previously stood and turned to face him. "READY?" She yelled across to him. Concentrating on the spell and focussing on the wand in Oakey's hand, she performed the wand movements, a circular motion with a swift upward stroke and pointed it at Oakey's wand. "Expelliarmus". Again she saw a beam of light shoot out towards Oakey again.
"As nice as that vould be of both of you..." she started to say, glancing towards the fiery redheaded girl. "There are others that still need a partner. I'm sure she von't mind." Or she would very much mind.
After a moment of watching them though, Medea shook her head slightly. "Miss Lovegoods, Mister Marius. Just the disarming charm for now, please. Ve'll get to the shield charm in a moment." They'd just have to get past that feeling of being cast on without a shield.
Speaking of needing a partner, Medea turned to the young Slytherin. "Ve'll just have to fix that then." With a smile, the Professor looked for that redheaded Ravenclaw, gesturing her on over. Yes, come join the class. "Miss Stone, Mister Vaughn here needs a partner."
Arya was getting more LOOKS right up until Romanos said her name.

"Ellie," she corrected as she walked up to the professor and the...kid she'd decided to pair her with. ...Wasn't he...young? Now she wished she'd stayed with Arya.
'Mister Vaughn' got a small wave.

She didn't have too much time to consider, either way, as she noticed the flick in her peripheral vision and t urned back to her partner to see that he'd taken his wand out finally.
She raised an eyebrow a little at his drawn out word, and shifted her grip on her own wand to be ready to use it when necessary. Especially because she wasn't stupid. He was obviously trying to take her off guard, being one of those typical Slytherins that irritated Matt so much. Stereotypes, but it was just as obvious that he thought she wasn't going to be prepared. Dropping her wand hand momentarily, she watched the red flash of light just miss, then brought her wand back up in the tight d movement Professor Romanos requested, aiming for his wand. "Expelliarmus!," she cast, smiling a little as she waited to see if her spell would hit.

Gideon watched his partner attempt to mimic his movements, the boy clearly not used to doing it. "OK", Alex said. She tried to quickly visualize the wand movements in her mind and pictured the wand flying from Silvia's hand. "Focus, focus" she said to herself. Alex raised her wand, concentrated as hard as she could and said, "Expelliarmus". Silvia's wand fell weakly from her hand as if she had dropped it. Well it wasn't exactly the result she had envisioned, but at least she HAD disarmed her opponent. "I will definitely need to practice this a few hundred more times", Alex said. "Want to try it again Silvia or should we let Vlimia give it a try?"
"Wow, good try Alex." Silvia bent over and picked up her wand, which had freed itself from her grip at her friend's disarming spell. "I'll give it another try." Silvia concentrated for a moment, took a deep breath, and said "Expelliarmus!" while waving her wand in the direction of her friend. Alex's wand seemed to jerk in her hand, causing her to nearly drop it. "Well, that was a little better." Turning towards the other girl Silvia said, "Vlimia, feel free to jump in when you're ready."

Nate took a different stance aimed his wand at his opponents and said "Expelliarmus." Nothing happened. "What this is weird." Nate looked at his wand. When he looked at the tip it exploded. Not the wand but the spell. It backfired. Nate went back a few feet. He looked at himself. He was bleeding but not alot of blood came out. He saw a few bruses starting to form.
Ariana took out her wand. Finally she could use it without getting in trouble. she gripped her wand and flicked it making the small 'd' shape and called out "Expelliarmus." Aiming right towards jordan.
Jordan felt the spell hit him, feeling his wand escaping his grasp. He dived backwards in an attempt to catch it, bit ended up on the floor. He stood up again, his hair discoloured slightly as he dusted himself off before aiming his wand at Ariana. "Expelliarmus!" he yelled, his wand moving in a 'd' shape as a burst of light shot from the tip of the wand.
