The brisk air coming through the open windows of the classroom left it a bit chilly, but not enough to be a distraction. A student's uniform black cloak or grey jumper should easily keep one warm enough throughout the lesson. The usual purple mats and small trays that the Professor has replaced from the chairs and desks were seen lined up in rows, much like they were in the previous lessons, while the light streaming in through the windows and sounds of birds singing as they flew by gave the classroom a Spring-like atmosphere. Professor Romanos herself was leaning against one of the farther windowsills, enjoying the warmth of the sun's rays while waiting for the students to arrive.

Alyssa decided to attempt to cast the Verdimillious Duo spell again. She concentrated on the spell and the words of the incantation before raising her wand over her head. She said "VERDIMILLIOS DUO" as she made circular motions over her head, waving her wand slowly and drawing out the motions, like she was making a big circle with her lasso rope. As she waved her wand, she looked up to see the red orb form larger and larger. She then focused on the chest in front of her. When she felt she was ready, with a downward slash and flick of her wand, Alyssa released the orb. It went flying...to the floor right in front of the chest. "What the...,"Alyssamuttered to herself. "Back to practising again," she sighed.
Ira was apparently been day-dreaming instead of listening to what Professor had said. So she really had no idea what was going on! Where were all the green orbs? All she could see was a very few red or orangish orbs... What was going on?? OMG, had they been taught a new spell? Oh right! Professor had mentioned about advanced Verdimillious spells! And here she was, with not a clue to what was going on!!!
Now what? She looked around. She could ask Kurumi for help.. But it seemed that Kurumi had her own foggy problem to deal with... Then she thought that she could just observe everyone around here and learn from them.
So she gathered that the incantation was just Verdimillios Duo. And the wand movement looked nearly the same. So Ira readied herself to do the spell. Taking her wand in her hand, she drew a circle above her head and slowly muttered, "Verdimillios Duo" Woohoo! A faint reddish orb, okay... it wasn't an orb, but it was something reddish, it began appearing at the tip.
She tried the spell again. She focused a bit more on the task, and drawing out a circle with her wand, she muttered, "Verdimillios Duo" And again, something faint reddish foggy type substance appeared. Why wasn't the orb appearing? Ugghhh!!

Ella really wanted to get the red orb to go where she wanted it to go. She was growing impatient and a little upset that she still couldn't hit her target. With a deep breath, she closed her eyes, trying to concentrate. When she had visualized exactly where she wanted the orb to go, she began making the long drawn-out lasso motion. "Verdimillious Duo!" The red orb appeared as it had on the last try. That was a good sign. Next, Ella made the downward slashing movement toward the chest and watched as the red orb began to move. "Go...that's it! You can do it!"
Ella almost cried out when her red orb hit the chest. IT ACTUALLY HIT THE CHEST! She stiffled her excitement though, trying to maintain calm. Yes, she had hit the chest, but nothing had happened other than that. She smiled, congradulating herself on at least having good aim.

Violet raised her wand up again to do a second attempt of the spell. She was quite satisfied already that her spell had worked on her her second attempt, but practice makes perfect right? Violet swirled her wand around her hand. "Verdimillious Duo!" and jabbed toward the chest.
What the..? Something pink and sparkly was swirling over her head and hovered for a minute or two before floating away toward the chest. It was definitely not going to hit the chest, but it only circled around and around. Violet shook her head in disbelief. It looked like she was a tooth fairy for a minute. Pink and sparkly did not go well with Violet She stooped down on the floor and massaged her head to try clear her thoughts out before trying out the spell again.
Laura looked at the Professor. "Oh come on Professor." Laura smiled. "I really want to try my hand at teaching and it'll give you two time to talk." Seriously Laura was being responsible and kind.

Once the orange smoke had cleared, Kurumi found that the orb had sort of melted against the wall, making a large pumpkin shaped spot in the stone. Oops. That could be cleaned up, right?
Tip toeing aaaaaaaaaaway from the spot, Kurumi got a little closer to the chest and decided to give this a go again... four more times. Now on her fifth try, Kurumi traced circles above her head and repeated the spell. "Verdimillios Duo." This time, a different color orb formed over her head and grew to the size of a very large watermelon. It soon doubled in size, becoming far too big than should be safe and just as Kurumi was about to release the spell towards the chest with a forward slashing movement....
*BOOOOOOOOOOM*
The orb exploded into a shower of colored smoke that showered over the Gryffindor prefect and coated her in a healthy layer of glittery dust that made her look like a walking purple statue. Kurumi coughed and tried to dust her robes off, only the powder wasn't coming off. Um....
Coughing a bit more, Kurumi moved away from her current spot and left a trail of the colored powder as she went.
So, try number six it was then? Once again tracing circles, Kurumi repeated the spell, performing the forward slashing movement much sooner this time, and then saw a red orb shoot out of her wand and hit the chest dead on. Well...at least she had accomplished that. Now what was she going to do about her new coloring?

"And if ve veren't performing spells that require supervision, I vould possibly let you, but for now, I'm the teacher." Hmmkay? Raising a brow at the Hufflepuff, Medea smiled a little, all the while listening in on everyone's progress.
Some were doing rather well while others were having some toruble, but that was to be expected. Their aim was getting better though...
Staring at the glittery purple student, Medea stood there for a moment just staring, before snapping out of it. She would deal with that in a moment. "This spell is a bit more difficult than the previous, isn't it?" she said, taking a few steps to the side, keeping an eye on the powder trail. "Despite it's near twin effects to Verdimillious, Verdimillious Duo is still it's own spell and requires slight changes to be cast properly. This goes the same for Verdimillious Tria which ve all vill try and practice now. I know it's said that it is unknown if Tria unveils hidden objects imbued vith dark magic, but that is because it is rarely used as such. It is a very difficult spell to achieve and when done so, mostly used for it's offensive side."
"The vand movement isn't exactly the same as the previous two spells either, though the concept is similar. To cast the spell, it isn't a circle, but an oval...kind of like you're making an egg shape, and it is very slow. The effects should create a light green orb that will have a dim light. For example...Verdimillious Tria." Slowly creating a oval shap above her that could've been twice the size of her head, drawing out the words as she did so, a very light green orb (though wasn't as bright as it's color) appeared at the tip of her wand before having it fly on over to the target. It descended just as slowly as she'd created it, but finally touched down on the surface of the now visible chest; flickering every now and then.
"You can all go ahead and give it a try for a few minutes, but ve'll be moving on soon to the remaining activities. Do not become frustrated if you don't achieve it. Like I said, it is a very difficult spell. And for any confusion, the incantation is indeed, Verdimillious Tria."
OOC: Because of it's level, only 7th years should be able to become close to casting this spell properly. 6th year RPer's, you can decide if your character's ability is up for the challenge. Anyone below a 6th year should be having trouble with the spell itself. Have fun! We'll be moving on shortly, so post while you can.
Reminder
7th years :: Able to come close to casting properly.
6th years :: Can decide either/or.
5th years and under :: Should be having extreme difficulty in casting.

They were moving on to tria already!? Ella felt she could have mastered duo if given more time but knew class time was limited. She listened closely to Professor Romanos as she gave the class directions and then held her wand above her head once again.
Ella started to make the oval movement above her head, moving her arm as slowly as possible which was causing her arm to grow quite tired. "Verdimillious Tria." She looked up at her wand, expecting to see something but no orb appeared. She was tempted to shake her wand to make sure it was still working but decided against it. She didn't want to cause any explosions or anything.... Instead she took a deep breath and decided to try again.

The professor was going very fast through the spells and Violet was trying her hardest to catch up with all of them. Her robes were still covered in the pink glitter from her previous attempt and somehow the glitter was not coming off her at all. She jumped up and down for a bit hoping it might shake it off, but alas, not even a spec came off her. Violet sighed at the thought of looking like a disco ball and listened carefully at the professor for the last and final spell. Verdimillious Tria?!?! Violet couldn't even manage the Verdimillious Duo charm from the previous trial so how was she able to do this spell?
Violet sighed at the difficulty of today's lesson and planted her feet firmly on the ground to ready herself for the disaster that she was sure was going to happen. She raised up her wand above her head and twirled it in a circle. "Verdimillious Tria" Violet waited anxiously for something to happen.
BANG!
Her wand flew backwards, Violet managed to hold on to her wand and fall down on her bottom. Instead of being able to successfully doing the spell, a gigantic cloud had formed over her head and was now raining down on her making her robes all wet. it was a good try at least Violet thought and she got up to wring out her robe from the puddle she was now forming from her bizarre rain cloud. She looked at the professor guiltily at the mess she had already made in the class.

Nerida still hadnt gotten down Verdimillious Duo and had to do many attempts before even getting close, and that one landed straight into the ground and when it did almost red poweder fell onto her shoes and they would come off. Nerida thought she could get somewhere close with Verdimillious Tria. She started to do the same wand movement but then remembered it was an egg shape instead of a circle. She did the wand movement with the egg this time and said Verdimillious Tria! Excpecting to see a wobbly green orb on the tip of her wand, instead she saw nothing, not even a spark, not even any green powder. She sighed in frustration and remembered even the Professor did say this wasnt an easy spell. She started to practice some more, still all had no luck, but she wasnt going to give up that easy. She continued trying the spell.

Jory listened to the Professor. "This one's gotta be tough then,'' he thought after he heard that those from fifth year and below will likely have a hard time casting the spell.
He decided to give it a go anyway. "Verdimillious Tria!'' the Puff exclaimed tracing his wand slowly in an egg shape like movement. Jory looked p at his wand tip expecting to see something at least. Instead he saw some fine white stuff slowly floating down on him. "What the... what's this stuff?'' he asked aloud to no one in particular as he jumped out of the way of the falling stuff. Brushing his hair and shoulders with his hands to make sure they were clean , he got ready to give the spell another shot.

Alyssa listened as the Professor demonstrated the wand movements for the Verdimillious Tria spell. This was supposed to be the toughest one of all three spells. Alyssa shrugged. It was worth a try to see whether she would able to successfully cast this spell. So first she practised the incantation. "VERDIMILLIOUS TRIA....VERDIMILLIOUS TRIA...VERDIMILLIOUS TRIA."
Then she practised the wand movements. Same as before, wand raised over head but oval instead of a circle. Alyssa practised the wand movements for awhile until she felt that she was ready to conjure the spell. She raised her wand up over her hand and said, "VERDIMILLIOUS TRIA and began to move her wand around trying to draw out an oval instead of a circle. As she moved her wand around concentrating on changing the shape of her circle into an oval, she looked up and saw NOTHING. Alyssa concentrated harder waving her wand overhead, over and over until her arm began to ache. She looked up hoping that there would at least be a tiny small speck of green light coming out from her wand but nothing happened. She tried concentrating even more harder, moving her wand arm overhead, but then it got so painful to hold it up any longer, that Alyssa lost all concentration.
She dropped her wand hand and started rubbing it to get back circulation. She decided that she would have to rest awhile before she tried conjuring that spell again.

Another green orb was formed until he saw a man standing at the door.
"Oh! Hello there, Mr Groundsman! What brings you here?" And there went his orb... Vanished!
Mr. Goundsman?
Really!?
Was it that hard to say groundskeeper? Lucky for Hades, Waylon was too busy trying to keep his eyes on all those floating green orb things to bother correcting him. But if he said groundsman again..
Moving into the classroom a little faster now, there were those floating green orb things moving all over the classroom, he was not going to be blamed if somehow one of them left the room and made its way into the hallway, Waylon gave the Slytherin a shrug of his shoulders at his question. He had absolutely no idea what he was doing there, he probably did at one time, but he may have forgotten. He wasn't going to say that, though. "It's a surprise." In other words, they were going to find out together.
SPOILER!!: Stella!

She'd been prepared for the possibility, but being wrong still felt weird. Therefore, she'd simply started taking notes on everything being discussed, making sure to get every last detail of the spells noted down for later. Even if they were going to be practicing, she wanted to make sure her notes were detailed in case this ended up on exams. Plus, there was always having the notes for later, in case she needed any of the three spells for anything. She wasn't planning on encountering dark objects, but they could come in useful for other situations too.
As they'd been instructed to spread out, she had moved to an empty corner, making sure she could still see the empty space that had now been identified as a chest with a Bedazzing hex placed upon it. If she focused enough, she could almost pretend she could see it as she went over the incantation in her mind. Verdimillious, she repeated silently a few times, imagining the wand movement even as she left her wand loose in her hand. It wouldn't go very well if she wasn't cure she could cast the spell after all, which was evident as orbs started flying around the room. Some of them connected with the target, but others were all over the place. After a few more silent practices, though, she lifted her wand. Time to try it herself.
Circling her wand above her head like instructed, she slowly repeated the incantation. "Verdimillious...," and she glanced upward to see the little green orb had formed. So far she seemed alright. All she had left was to try and hit the chest. Preparing to release, make the slashing movement required for the orb to leave her wand, she got halfway through it when she heard someone else enter the room and turned to see who was speaking to the professor only to accidentally finish the slashing movement and send her orb flying at the new groundskeeper. Eeep!, she thought, eyes widening as she hoped it missed. "I'm sorry, monsieur Groundskeeper, sir," she said finally, turning pink as she realized how close she'd come to her first disaster in a Hogwarts class.
Perhaps he should have been moving into the classroom quicker so he wouldn't get hit with one of those floating green orb things instead of moving in quicker because one of those floating green orb things could have somehow escaped into the hallway. Waylon would have liked the room a little better with a few less orbs.
Especially after he was.. well, hit with one.
He had just shut the classroom door and started making his way over to Medea near the windows when he spotted the orb heading in his direction. At first he thought the orb would just disappear, like a few he had noticed did, but as the thing got nearer and nearer, he realized it was not going to and his instincts kind of took over. Stopping in his tracks, Waylon pressed himself up against the wall and shut his eyes tight, waiting for the FULL impact of the orb to hit him. Only.. nothing hit him. Unless you count that little bit of heat on the side of his face hitting him.
Ahem.
Opening his eyes, he gingerly touched the side of his face that was hit, and after knowing that his face was fine, he scouted out the girl who had cast that dangerous orb. "No worries, no worries!" As if she pressed herself up against the wall in a scared manner. "I'm fine!"
Just sliiiightly embarrassed.
SPOILER!!: DUCK BOY, Daichi!

Turning his attention back to the chest and spell, he circled his wand again and said "Verdimillious!". He looked up to see the orb of light at the tip of the wand and smirked before slashing it downwards like a sword. The light traveled towards the direction of the chest aaaaaaaaaand.
Hit the wall behind it.
Groaning, Daichi began to circle his wand again "verdimillious!" he shouted and an orb of light came out of the wand but then he saw in the corner of his eyes that the door was opening. Hehehe late student! He hoped it wasn't a Slytherin though... Daichi lowered his wand and leaned a bit backwards so that he was standing very awkwardly and saw that it was not a late student but the groundskeeper.
"Hiiiii Mr.Murdoch!" he greeted him from the far back and waved his hands at the man. Big mistake since he had already down half the part of the spell and now the orb of light was shooting at a random direction in class towards the students...
NO ONE SAW THAT, RIGHT!?
Right.
Straightening out his shirt, as if he didn't just get scared out of his wits in front of a whole classroom full of students, Waylon continued his journey over to Medea.. only to stop, once again, in his tracks. Just this time, it was because Daichi. Who had just sent his orb thing flying around the classroom.. Thank Merlin it wasn't flying anywhere near him this time, Defence class was dangerous.
"Hey, Daichi!" Waylon gave the boy a wave back and a look that tried to tell him just how dangerous the class was. The Slytherin would probably just think he was sick instead.

About to try the spell again, Amelia was stopped right in the middle of her circular movement by the Groundskeeper. Curiosity raised, she lowered her wand. "Hello, Murdoch!" She wondered what he was doing here in the lesson right now. Surely it wasn't just to watch them attempt the spell.

She should probably get back to practicing her spellwork anyway. Spreading out a bit more again, Kurumi repeated the wand movement, making somewhere around six before slashing forward with her wand. "Verdimillious!"
A green orb glided out of her wand rather sluggishly and certainly with nowhere near the same grace as Professor Romanos' had been.
Kurumi didn't see where her orb hit, which ended up being just short of the chest and illuminated the floor like spilled florescent paint, and was distracted when someone entered the classroom.
Please don't let it be a Gryffin---oh! "Good day, Mr. Murdoch," she greeted with a polite bow. Had he figured out what to do with all those unclaimed prizes? Or were those somehow going to be involved in today's lesson. Or....was there some sort of budding something between him and Professor Romanos? Recently, the professors had seemed just as bad as students. The Headmaster should give them detention for brewing love where they ought not to.
But then, something green was zooming in her direction and Kurumi was just in time to hit the deck to avoid it crashing into her.
But the same couldn't be said for one of her Gryffindors.
Jumping back up to her feet, Kurumi took a peek around for any other floating orbs that might be around before she scurried over to Ira. Getting hit in the nose was always the worst. "You alright?"
Now Waylon was more than positive that he should have made his way into the classroom just before the class started. It was almost as if his arrival was the reason why those orbs were floating around all crazy-like. He was like some sort of distraction!
And he didn't think that was what Medea wanted him there for.
Walking once more, quite intent on not stopping for anymore reasons, Waylon gave a smile and a finger waggling wave to Amelia and Kurumi as he made his way passed them. Nope, he wasn't going to distract them with talking.
Plus, they both were busy.

Oh! Waylon had finally arrived. She was beginning to think he wouldn't show...
"Not at all." she smiled, gesturing him to come inside. Or at least at a quicker pace than what he was doing. A snail could crawl faster. Oh look! Random orb headed his way.
Finally reaching Medea, and subtlety hiding behind her in case of anymore rogue orbs, the woman knew how to take care of them after all, Waylon gave her a nod of his head when she said he wasn't late. Which meant that he was not there just for target practice. "Oh, good." he said, and leaning up against the windowsill as well, he folded his arms across his chest. "Just, you know, let me know when I'm needed." Grin.
Until then, he'd be looking out for any green orbs. And red ones..

"Verdimillious Triaaiiiaa." Laura did the spell, but well nothing happened, though had the Professor said if they weren't practicing spells then she could teach, wow, why were they practicing spell, seriously what was the Groundskeeper doing here anywhere. "Professor I can't do the spell." Laura sighed, it was hard, what was the last word anyway.
Glenn gave a slight nod to the professor. They were going through the spells real fast and it wasn't much comfort to think that this spell was just going to be even harder to perform.
Repeating the teacher's movement, Glenn raised her wand and traced an ovalish shape above her head, "Verdimillious Tria!" The puff said and shot a glance at her wand. There was some kind of goo spurting everywhere and had covered her robes in it's sticky purple muck. "Ugh!" She took her wand down from the air and tried to stop the spurting, "Professor!" The goo was in her blonde hair and had dyed a lot of it the colour purple. "Stop it. Stop." She muttered, shaking her wand.
Daisy nodded at the professor's words, knowing she wouldn't be able to cast the spelll properly unless there was a miracle, but deciding to try anyway. She was shooting looks at older students, some of whom were doing the spell fairly well. Thinking she'd never get that fair, Daisy raised her wand.
'Verdimillious Tria,' she said, moving her wand in an egg shape.
Nothing happened, but she wasn't stopping there.
'VERDIMILLIOUS TRIA,' she said, probably a little too loudly as she moved her wand slowly. The wand sparked feebly, but it was obvious she wasn't good enough to do the spell properly.
Deciding trying would get her nowhere, Daisy put her wand up her sleeve and wandered around the room, watching older students cast the spell.

Ella watched as the other students attempted the spell. With a sigh of relief, she realized it was quite hard for her classmates to do as well. Lifting her wand above her head once again, she began making the egg-shape slowly. "Verdimillious Tria!'' She said loudly, concentrating. Suddenly, her wand became like a sparkler one would see at a summer party, the hot sparks raining down around her. "Ummm what?!" She said, looking at her wand in alarm. She panicked for a moment before wondering if finite would make it stop. "Finite!...come on, finite!" Nothing except more sparkingly. "FINITE!" Finally, the sparkling came to an end and Ella let out the breath she had been holding in.

Kurumi was rather glad that there were no mirror in the room right now, because she currently matched her eye color...all of her...from head to toe. Could have been worse. She could have blown a hole in the floor or singed her robes or something of this sort.
Lowering her wand to listen to Professor Romanos, she couldn't help but notice the stare she received. Yeah, she knew. She was a mess...but at least she had managed the spell on her...sixth attempt was it? Then again, maybe Professor Romanos didn't recognize who it was under all the purple glittery powder? That was entirely possible.
As she listened, Kurumi wasn't entirely sure she actually wanted to attempt this spell. If she had caused this much of a mess with the previous spell, Merlin knew what was going to happen with this one.
She may actually blow a hole in the wall. *GULP*
Taking a few deep breaths, Kurumi repeated the spell several times to herself. "Verdimillious Tria....Verdimillious Tria....Verdimillious Tria...."

Once Kurumi moved on to the wand movement, practicing making nice big and slow ovals over her head, the Gryffindor noticed the finger wiggle greeting from the Groundskeeper. Why WAS he here? Kurumi still hadn't ruled out him being a human target, but that seemed like a cruel thing to do to the man - especially seeing the reactions most of the students were having to these spells.
Kurumi paused for a moment, lowering her wand and taking the opportunity to stretch her arms a bit. All this circling motion was really doing a number on her shoulder.
Feeling ready to give this a go, Kurumi drew a nice slow oval over her head. "Verdimillious Tri----"

Ug...grooooooooooss! Kurumi's vision was suddenly impaired by some sort of something that felt like cold jello on her face...only it was a billion times more sticky. Kurumi attempted to wipe it off her face, and managed to get the goop off her left eye, but no where else. At least she could see now, right?
Panicking just a bit at the sight of the struggling Hufflepuff. Kurumi scampered over as quickly as her one-eyed vision could allow her and took careful aim. "Finite Incantatem!"
That should at least stop the spell...the goo would require some other spellwork....that could probably help her with her purple powder mess.

"Just, you know, let me know when I'm needed." Grin.
Until then, he'd be looking out for any green orbs. And red ones..
After witnessing the very well done dodging that was put into play by Waylon, Medea was sure she'd asked the right person. Even if that mild panic attack he had was now making her second guess in the back of her mind. She smiled a little and nodded, glancing back out to the students. "Soon."
Yes, she totally meant to sound ominous. She owed him one for this.

She looked at the professor guiltily at the mess she had already made in the class.
But before all that could happen...
All THIS had happened.
The bang had made her jump a little, but the whole outcome with the rain cloud was just too hard not to be amused at. An easy fix, but really, a rain cloud. It was a rain cloud! "Try to make more of an oval shape instead of a circle when casting the spell, Miss Silverstar. Less likely you'll be dripping on my floor." she smiled, getting rid of the rain cloud, but drying the girl would take longer.
In fact... "Do you vont to get a different set of robes on?" Dry ones. It would take less time.

"Professor I can't do the spell." Laura sighed, it was hard, what was the last word anyway.
"That is to be expected." she said, looking over to her from the girl who had the misfortune of having a rain cloud form over her. "Though I noticed..." Moving towards her, Medea paused next to Laura, so she didn't have to speak so loudly. "Your pronunciation of Tria is a bit off. It's quite similiar to trio. Tree-oh. But without the oh, there's an uh. Tree-uh." Tria! "Try it again. It's a difficult spell, so don't be frustrated. Just takes practice."

Might end up cutting this practice short, due to wanting to keep her room in one piece and the students with less injuries as possible. Or at least clean as possible. "Don't shake it, Miss Reyes! You'll get it everywhere." If it wasn't everywhere already.
Though purple girl had fixed the problem before she could even get to it. Which was fine by her. Quite frankly, she liked being clean. "Thank you..." Stare. "Miss Hollingberry." Oh so that's who it was.
Staring at both of them actually, Medea ran her hands through her hair and looked towards the invisible chest up at the front. Invisible considering no one had managed the spell yet. "Come on, you two. I have towels up in the front." They were going to be used for the activity, but right now, these two needed them more. She had no idea what the goo was, and wasn't planning on using spells on it any time soon.

Amelia smiled at the Groundskeeper and then turned her attention back to the task that was at hand. She knew that she was not going to get this spell right on the first go as she had with the second one. Nor was it likely to work on any of the other tries she made. But maybe on the millionth...
She raised her wand over her head making an oval shape and said, Verdimillious Tria." Nothing happened. Her movement must have been too circular.
Nate still needed some practice with verdimillous tria. So he spun his wand in a slow oval above above his head. A green orb formed on the tip of his wand. Then he did a slahing motion while saying "Verdimillous tria" After he said that the green orb disappeared. It didn't leave the tip of his wand. Nate started to get a little bit frustrated. He did the spinning motion again. Next the green orb appeared. Then he did the slashing motion while saying "Verdimillous tria!" The orb flew off of his wand, but when it did it disappeared yet again. Now he was plain out frustrated. He did the spinning motion again. Then the green orb appeared on the tip of hs wand. Next the he did the slashing motion while saying "Verdimillious tria!" But with a bit more feeling. Still nothing happened. So now he was mad. He whispered to himself "Grrrr. Why won't this work."

Alyssa decided that since her wand arm was rested, that she would try the Verdimillious Tria spell again. Raising her wand over her head, she said the words to the incantation."VERDIMILLIOUS TRIA" as she began moving her wand over her head trying to form an oval shaped type of rope lasso. As she moved her arm 'oval' and 'oval' she looked up and saw a small red orb appear. "Good now that I've got that, I've got to maintain it long enough for it to hit the chest."Alyssa whispered to herself as she concentrated even harder on what she wanted the spell and do as well as making sure that the shape she was creating overhead didn't change to a circle.
Slowly waving her wand overhead, trying to maintain the spell, Alyssa decided that it was time to cast the orb at the chest. Focussing on the chest, with a downward slash, she flicked her wand and released the red orb. It flew...away from the chest and headed for the Groundskeeper and it's color changed to a weird orange. "LOOK OUT MR. GROUNDSKEEPER!" was going to say Mr. Jennings Alyssa tried to call back the orb. "FINITE...FINITE" she pointed her wand at the orb trying to reach it before it hit him.

Laura listened to the professor and smiled. "Okay I'll try." Laura thought hard and then said the spell. "Verdimillious Tria." Laura sighed after nothing happened. "Verdimillious Tria!!!" Laura shook her wand so hard that just as something happened she went staggering backwards and her wand went flying into the air, she hit the Professor and the wand went flying forwards, Laura hoped nothing would happened. "Sorry Professor." Laura hoped the Professor realised it was an accident.

Kurumi blushed and bowed her head shyly. If she hadn't already been embarrassed about being covered in glittery purple powder, then she probably would have laughed at the woman's expression of total confusion and shock. But, seeing as the Gryffindor felt like how Walnut must have felt when the Headmaster had shaved him...
"Thank you, professor," Kurumi murmured as she followed the woman up to the front and grabbed a towel with her purple and slightly gooey hand. Kurumi first attended to her face. Vision through only one eye was no way to practice a spell for DADA. Once her face was cleaned up, for the most part, Kurumi dabbed her robes with the towel. "I...hope this doesn't ruin your towel, professor," she said in an apologetic tone. Whatever magical properties this powder and goo had were beyond the fifth year, but it spoke bounds that the professor didn't want to use magic on it.
Probably would cause something to blow up. Not good.

Kurumi turned and was just about to go find a different spot to practice, one hopefully far away from people in case she created another colorful explosion, when something came and smacked her right in the face.
MERLIN! Was it an orb? Was she going to go blind now? Oh, wait, no. Her vision was perfectly fine and the only thing that hurt was her nose. Her eyes watered a bit from the impact - which was the natural reaction to being hit in the nose, so no worries there - and she looked down to see a wand on the ground by her feet. "Did someone lose their wand?" she asked as she bent down and picked it up.

Arya had repeated the third version of the spell quietly to herself multiple times, hand itching to preform some sort of movement but she restrained the feeling long enough to get the pronunciation down.
She was so focused on the spells that she wasn't even paying any of the students, or Ellie, much mind. It was not-so-surprisingly easy to do with all the explosions going on around her.
The two professors and other prefects could handle it.
"Verdimillious Tria." Hm. The prefect gave her wand a small twirl, then went to slowly trace a large oval in the space in front of her, drawing out her words as well. A semi-translucent orb appeared out of her tip, flickered, and disappeared not a moment after. Her brow furrowed together at the now empty space as she pondered what'd just happened.
... And then she had another go.
