Minerva looked at the list very interested. "Justin I don't know much about magical creatures so I'm not sure of anything to add." she felt kind of ashamed that she hadn't read more into this topic. Just her text book. "So looking at the list we have now, I would say that we have started looking for similarities with other animals.

She wrote on her parchment:

"So I'm going to say it doesn't have the power to kill by looking at a person, it hasn't changed into my fears (thank goodness she thought), nor can I see it just because I have seen someone die, because I haven't. So I think it would be easy to say it's not like these animals." This was becoming harder then she thought, but they were trying to find the process. "So if it is intelligent maybe that would be the key." she walked over to her cute purple puff. "Hello Mrs. Puff. Do you talk with humans? Can you tell or show me any magic?" The pygmy puff just looked at Minerva. She smiled at it's cuteness and turned to Justin. "Well I think we can put no on the asking it and the intelligence similarity..

Already tame? Kurumi looked at the creature now fast asleep on her shoulder. "I suppose you are right," Kurumi giggled, petting the pink ball of fluff with her index finger. So, no on the tame aspect of the law. Kurumi nodded as Vickers went on about how perhaps Dumbledore had pulled a few strings behind the scenes to take the blame off of Hagrid, therefore making him unpenalized. "You might be right, but not even Dumbledore was above the law...at least not back in those days, surely he would have had a firm talking to about those being in the school," she said as she scratched her chin a bit. "On the other hand, perhaps they were able to pass off Hagrid breeding those creatures because he used one in the Triwizard Tournament. So...Dumbledore could have passed that off as his intent to breed them was for that purpose."

As Vickers went on a bit more, Kurumi's eyes remained on the words Experimental Banning...more specifically on the word experimental in the textbook. But her thoughts were momentarily distracted when Vickers brought up a good point. "Hmm, that could very well be," she nodded. "Hybrid creatures certainly seemed to fall under that category, as is the case with Blast-Ended Skrewts. At least, if my theory about intent is true, that you can't breed without reason?[/b]" The magical world did seem to revolve entirely around the concept of intent after all. "Puffskeins only have a Ministry rating of XX, so breeding them would be about the same as breeding a kneazle. I would assume that is miniatures were allowed that Ministry ratings would still have a heavy hand in what could be breed and what couldn't... somehow I don't think claiming to be breeding a minature Ukrainian Ironbelly would go over well. Or a manticore for that matter." Still, there was something to be said about this point.

Now Kurumi's eyes were back on the word...Experimental. "What if...one could claim that they were actually experimenting?" Kurumi asked, sort of more voicing her thoughts more than actually asking Vickers his opinion - although he was more than willing to chime in. Because, if one wasn't really experimenting and actually KNEW what they were doing, wasn't that sort of a loophole? Perhaps being too picky?

Selena was looking around for someone who was going to be her partner, which was kinda hard when you were short but she managed. Only because she heard him first before she saw him. Then he walked over. It was Young Grasshopper! Selena could work with him! She was sure he was PLENTY smart and knew about the scientificalation process of figure thingys out.

"HAAAAAAAAIIII Kennedy!!!" Selena exclaimed, beaming at him. And his pygmy puff. "You know Kent!" Selena said, pointing to the ball of fluff on her head. "And who's thiiiiis?" Selena asked, poking the pygmy puff on his shoulder. Hehe... fluffy.

Then more importantly... though... maybe not more important... "What will we be working on?"

OHGOSH.

Partner work. The one thing Tristan absolutely hated that all teachers everywhere seemed to love... ack. Well Evelyn had walked in earlier, hadn't she? He wandered around looking for her. "Evelyyyynnn," he claimed. Aristotle continued to squeal and make his weird little humming noises as they searched.

Fid a partner!? Great. Simply great.

Evelyn sighed as she looked around the barn. Everyone seemed to be teamed up in pairs already. Anyway, hoping that someone would be willing to work with her, she raised her hand. "Errrm..anyone want to partner up?"

Annddd..ooooh! Tristan! Evelyn spotted him standing nearby. She was glad to see him..even if he weirded her out a little. "Hey Tristan." She grinned. "Want to work together?"

Jezzabelle looked around and said louder than her usual self, "Can someone please tell me what magical properties a pygmy puff has?" She looked around at all the people near her. Someone had to know. She didn't really want to look through her book for an answer.

Keefer looked around. Most of the other students had partners already. Great. He put his plea out for the general populace to hear. "I still need a partner. Anyone game?" No, it was not a mistake that the Quidditch Captain used that phrase.

Partners? Oh Merlin, that was always a disaster fun. Of course, there was the while issue of finding a partner, being that there was nothing she could do about the directions. So she waved her hand I'm the air and said, "Right... Anyone want to partner up?"

Ella copied down the notes and then looked around, searching for a partner. She saw a fellow puff who also needed one and waved at him. "Hey, I still need a partner!"

Pygmy puffs, we're such adorable yet annoying creatures. Nessie knew quite a lot about them, which was why it didn't matter that she hadn't been paying much attention. She was too busy staring at Professor Williamson's good looks. She couldn't over how handsome he was, he was such a distraction.

After a few moments, Ness realised what she had been doing. She blinked her eyes twice and then looked at the name card that was in her hand, it was still blank which was why she filled it in almost immediately, while meantime her pygmy puff slept on her shoulder like he always did. She kinda hoped she wouldn't have to wake him up later, cause she knew how much it bothered him.

When the class started to speak about what pygmy puffs did, and how they behaved, Nessie started to raise her hand but lowered it when she changed her mind. She wanted to ask why Puffles seemed to enjoy running away from her, it was how he gained he's nickname..Snitch, he used to give Nessie heart attacks as he would run away and hide from her and then wait untill she found him. She thought the puffs games were pathetic. Anyway her question was silly, it was a little obvious as to why Puffles hid from her..he must have just disliked her..or something like that.

As the lesson moved on, Nessie couldn't help but start staring at the Professor again she was just awestruck. It was when she heard the word 'Partners' being mentioned that she got herself to stop staring again. Rigght now to find someone. She scanned the room and saw that most people already had partners, which was why she did what she always did in situations like these. "Partners anyone?" she called hoping someone, anyone would be with her.

Janice was looking for a partner, too, apparently. She approached the older girl. "Can I be with you?" she asked. People usually invite her because she's quite left out, but not this time.

"Great, we can go together, then. I'm Keefer, by the way. I don't think we've officially met." He flashed her a warm smile. The girl was a first year and thus bound to be intimidated by an older student of such status and handsomeness. He brought his little orange guy/gal/puff into his lap to meet his/her/its new friend. "This is Sutherland. I just met him at the beginning of class."

He wasn't sure what the girl would want to talk about, but he had brought up the question about the naming, so he figured they may as well start there. "Erm, d'you want to start with the whole naming thing? That's what I want to know. But there's other things that sound interesting as well."

Unsure if he should continue to carry the conversation, he just plowed ahead. "Apparently these little creatures are bred from Puffskeins? I think those are usually a bit bigger. So maybe the pygmy part is meant to refer to their small size. What do you think?" he asked politely, still smiling encouragingly at her.

Arya had been distracted by her new fiery red pygmy. She had named the cute creature MO. Cause it was a cute name, right? But now she was soo sure the pygmy was a girl, not a boy. Opps. She needed a new name!! Or not. The prefect was creative and after a moment decided that MO would be short for something. Of course the something was still to be decided as she already missed the first question and most of the parternering. Sigh.

"Anyone still need a partner?" She stood on her haybale with Mo on her shoulder, attempting to reach her nose. Well, partner anyone?

Justin chuckled a bit as she started talking to the little purple ball of fur. " Hey , Min... I just realized that this little puff is just the miniature versoin of a Puffskien. Maybe we should see what powers , if any the puffskien has. " Justin said.

Silvia had been glad when the professor had closed the door, but still wished there was a way these classes could be held inside the castle so she didn't have to trudge through the cold outdoors. At least this class seemed like it would be a whole lot better than their first lesson of the term, which she had hated. She had never had a pygmy puff before and didn't know much about them. It had taken her awhile to decide on a name; she had a whole list of names that she thought she might like to name a pet with one day. The young Ravenclaw wanted to name her pygmy after Rowena Ravenclaw, but it didn't really look like a Rowena. So she finally settled for Seraphina.

After jotting down a few notes, she looked around. "Anyone still need a partner?" she asked.

Harvey watched as the list was written down. He wrote the list onto his parchment as well.. and then he heard they were supposed to partner up.. oh oh.. he was never good at this.. but he would have to overcome this somtime right.. well now was a good a time as ever.. so he put his Blue puff Doodle onto his shoulder and looked round to see if anyone was partnerless..



He then spotted a much older student.. woah.. he was feeling VERY nervous all of a sudden he had hardly ever worked with an older student before.. it was always first or second years and they were his friends.. but now it was time to overcome his nervousness and go up and ask her to be his partner.. so he went upto the older student who was also looking for a partner.. "H..h..hi er.. my name is Harvey .. second year Ravenclaw.. this is Doodle.. and er.. we were wondering if you would.. like to partner up." he asked nervousily.. well there it was out in the open.. he had asked and now to see how she would respond..

Those Pygmy Puffs were so adorable. He had always wanted one but somehow had never gotten one. And well, they were only allowed to bring one pet to Hogwarts so he couldn't have taken it with him anyway. Because he COULDN'T have left Vanilla at home. Just couldn't.

Sitting in front of the Pygmy Puff he had chosen - a yellow one with HUGE eyes - Lewis prodded it softly with his finger, not even paying much attention to what was going on around him. It was only when the professor said something about finding a partner and jotting down stuff when he looked up again. Oh, huh, class had started already?!



Glancing around the room, hoping there would be SOMEBODY he knew his attention was caught by somebody shouting. Hey, wasn't that the girl from Transfiguration? The one who managed to turn her paper into a man-eating moster? He was pretty sure she was, yes. And she was a Hufflepuff too so that was nice.

Not wanting to leave his Pygmy Puff alone for one second, Lewis decided to just wave at her hoping to get her attention. "Me!" He didn't even know her name. Can you see meeeeee?!

Gideon listened to everyones answers, not submitting any of his own as he absently petted the creature beside him seeing as he had nothing to say. Pygmy puffs were a completely new thing to him, maybe only hearing about them in passing. When the professor made the lists of known and unknowns appear, the Gryffindor scribbled them down on a piece of parchment for later reference.

Now they were to partner up, never a fun prospect for the 5th year seeing as he always had to scramble to find someone to pair with. Glancing around, the familiar faces seemed to have all gotten someone to work with so they were out for him. In fact most of the students seemed to be paired up, Gideon having no clue how they worked so fast.

Great...just great.

"Anybody still need a partner?" he questioned trying to get a free person's attention.

Nobody seemed to hear Oakey's plea for a partner. After a few minutes, he even considered pairing up with his Pygmy Puff, Batman. WWW would be fine with that right? Oakey would even nickname himself Robin to authenticate the pairing.

Oakey starred at Batman for a few more minutes contemplating if this would work out. Batman starred back with his/her big cuddly looking eyes. aww you're just so cute... wait what was he saying Batman isn't cute Batman strikes fear in the hearts of the Pygmy Puff Criminal Under Belly!

Then he heard another boy. Gideon a 5th year Gryffindor. Oakey remembered seeing him from time to time in some of the other classes he was in as well. Hey there..uhhh Gideon...I still need a partner too if you wanna work together? was it okay to call Gideon by his name? They hadn't formally met yet, but Oakey knew him by name so what was the harm.

Oh. "I'm sorry. I thought you were called Edvard." She made a mental note to call him by his last name instead. "But yes, I am Amelia." She smiled at him before she looked down at her notes.

"Ummm... how about... the magical properties they posses?" But if he would rather do another question she was open to it as well.

Annabelle smiled. "Hi I am Annabelle Lecium! Nice to meet you!." she was relieved she found a partner. "I am also in hufflepuff btw." as she held out her hand to shake. She figured this class will be fun. She had her yellow pigmy on her shoulder cuddling next to her neck.

Taylor nodded, "Ok, sounds good." She smiled. MErcy was purring asleep in Tay's arms.

It seemed at first he was gonna fail in the whole partner attempt when a younger Hufflepuff boy approached him without a partner himself. "Aye...sure," he answered offering a small smile as he tried to think of the boy's name seeing as he apparently knew him by name but his mind came up blank. Gideon guess seeing him just in passing around the castle and in classes, he hadn't had too much dealing with his companion in question. He just hoped, the hufflepuff hadn't been one of the ones he had had a lot of trouble with in charms class.

"I'm sorry...ye have me at a disadvantage," Gideon remarked looking appologetic.

Oh? Gideon hadn't figured out his name. Oakey didn't have to much of a surprised look on his face when the older Gryffindor came up short on his name.

It's fine. Oakey said brushing aside the apology, If it wasn't today I'm sure we'd run into each other eventually right? Oakey stopped talking, he began thinking of which question the two of them could answer to solve the mystery of the Pgymy Puffs OH RIGHT! I'm Oakey He had almost forgotten to introduce himself. How foolish! He took his left hand from his side and stuck it out for Gideon to shake.

Do you have any specific question you want to figure out? He asked Gideon. I was thinking maybe how to figure out their genders.

Zhenya looked up and saw Ira, a girl she had seen a bit, around. "Hi Ira! Of course we can be partners, that would be great!" she said. Now what was the first thing to do?
