CoMC Three

It was a nice, warm spring day, and William was rather pleased to be sitting outside near the edge of the Forbidden Forest. This was the tamer part of the forest, actually, close to the boundaries of the creatures sanctuary. He'd set up the class in the hopes that none of the students would be intimidated by the forest. Not yet, anyway.

"Welcome, welcome," William greeted the early students. "You can drop your pygmy puff off from last class over there," and he pointed to the tiny wooden enclosure that had been set up in the barn earlier this year, "and have a seat over here!" There were a few wooden logs scattered around in a semi-circle near his wooden stool.

Today's class should prove... useful to the students. Heh.

Lily walked up towards the area near the forest for the Care of Magical Creatures class. She took Blueberry out from under her arm and placed the pygmy puff down gently in the enclosure. Walking over toward the logs, Lily greeted the professor. "Hello Professor Williamson. How are you today? It's really nice out today." After saying hello, Lily wandered over to an empty log and took a seat, placing her bag on the ground in front of her.

Selena skipped to the the Care of Magical Creatures lesson with a bright smile on her face, and pygmy puff on her head. "Hellooooo Professor W!" Selena chirped, beaming as she popped a jelly bean in her mouth. Because they were colorful and yummy. Except the boogie flavored ones. And the vomit. And the nasty ones. She looked at the little enclosure that was there. Why were they putting the pygmy puffs together?! Was the professor going to FEED the pygmy puffs to other creatures? SLOWLY and HESITANTLY, Selena plucked the little purple ball of pure FLUFF known as Kent off of her head and placed it... in the pen. "We're not going to be feeding the pygmy puffs to weird animals, right?" Selena asked the professor as she took a seat as CLOSE to the pygmy puffs as possible. Because just in case... Selena would be able to snatch Kent and RUN.

Trav made his way down to Forbidden Forest's edge. Which meant, only one of two things... they were either about to receive a very interesting class, or they were being teased and Mister Professor was just going to take them to somewhere with flobberworms. Travis hoped to merlin that the former was true.

With his new packet of moustaches that just arrived, trav made sure he wore his finest for this class. The moustache was neatly placed on his face, and Travis held himself like a right, proper gentleman. Dropping the pygmy puff into the bin, Travis moved to take a seat.

He gave the man a nod and said "How do you do, my dear Professor." Travis' voice tried to become as sir like as possible. He was Lord Travis Joseph Gordon, the fanciest sir ever to walk these ground. Wait did someone say, feed the pygmy puffs TO the creatures.

YES! Trav's Gentleman-like demeanor may have to be sacraficed for today... he needed room for the barbaric blood rituals!

Evelyn wouldn't have attended Willy's class if it wasn't for the fact that she had to return little Samwise. Professor over-obsessed with his animals. Heh. Carrying the adorable little Samwise in her hand, she walked over to the barn.

"Aw, I'm really going to miss you, bud." She petted him for a moment, before she placed him in the enclosure.

The girl walked back over to where Willy was sitting. "Professor." Evelyn muttered in greeting before she wandered over to one of the logs nearby and sat down, her eyes on the ground. She wondered what was in store for them. Something weird, probably.

HaRoHeGiNeLu 03-13-2012 01:46 AM

Ellie was....unsure about attending. Simply because she was being lazy and moody and blah blah blah. She just didn't feel like DOING much. Especially LEARNING. Especially especially learning a lesson that she wasn't even positive she wanted to continue to learn.

But here she was.

She even took a seat pretty near Williamson. "Hi." That was her greeting.

PatInTheHat 03-13-2012 01:48 AM

"Hey, Professor!" The prefect grinned at him as she bounced over to the wooden enclosure, giving MO a little pat pat before placing her with the pygmy puffs. It really was a niiiice day out, and the seventh year had plans for it, after this lesson of course. Right now her only focus was to find a good seat and ready herself for some learning.

She chose one closest to him, but also close to the sanctuary, which wasn't nearly as close as she wanted it to be. But maybe, maaaaaaaaybe, something would slip out and come over for pets or something. She could hope. Heh.

AmbiguouslyMe 03-13-2012 01:52 AM

Emrys sighed, standing back from the class a few paces. Semi-circle. He hated semi-circle seating. You couldn't hide, someone was always looking at you and, given that they were logs, well, he was bound to end up on the dirt, having fallen off.

Oh, great. And there was that girl - Ellie? - from that enchantment seminar. He walked over slowly, trying to decide whether to sit near her, and not have to look at her, or far away but have to deal with her being able to see him. Near the professor? Or right across?

There was no hiding here! Emrys stood, looking rather stupidly at the semi-circle, trying to figure out which seat would panic him the least.

Heading down to the next CoMC lesson, Stella was hyper aware of Nuage humming on her shoulder like the puff had been pretty much all week. Excpet for lessons and when she'd been asleep, of course, because getting in trouble would have hurt her chances of being able to maybe keep the pygmy puff. Even if she wasn't about to ask Professor Williamson yet. It was hard to go over to the little pygmy puff enclosure, though. "I'm just going to be over here," she said quietly to the pale lavender creature as she picked it up and set it among the other puffs already there. "You can play with your friends, while I go to class, and maybe we'll be able to spend time together again later." That was entirely going to be determined by if she could get up the courage to ask, after all, and something told her that hinged on what happened during the lesson.

Turning back from the enclosure, she returned to the area set up for the lesson and gave the professor a smile. "Hello Professor Williamson," she replied. He seemed to be in an awfully good mood, which oddly unnerved her a little. Especially as close to the forest as they were, with all the rumors of creatures escaping and wandering the castle grounds this term. She couldn't really blame the Slytherin prefect for worrying that they were going to be feeding the pygmy puffs to something. She wasn't going to ask, though. That just felt like it would hurt her chances for other things.

Momotaro II sat proudly on Kurumi's shoulders after having bathed once again in pumpkin soup at breakfast. Kurumi had nearly missed her morning lessons thanks to the little guy, but she had somehow managed to get him cleaned up and decent without having to sprint too quickly through the castle to reach the grounds.

As she approached Professor Williamson, she heard him explain that they should drop their pygmy puffs off. That sounded like they were throwing away old socks and...well...Kurumi just didn't like that image. Momotaro II cooed on her shoulder and snuggled closer to her ear as if to say DON'T THROW ME AWAY! However, as Kurumi approached the enclosure and saw that there were other pygmy puffs rolling around, she knew she had to let him go. "Thank you for the week, Momotaro II," she whispered, giving the little guy a kiss on the head. "You...be...safe..." Because she would be coming back to visit him later. With that...she set him down in the enclosure and watched him roll off, her bottom lip quivering at the site.

Kurumi then made her way over to the logs and sat down with an obviously depressed expression on her face. She missed her pygmy puff already. Sorry, Professor Williamson, no greeting for you today unless a frown counted.

Alyssa walked up and saw the Professor sitting on a wooden stool. She saw that a wooden enclosure had been set up for Pygmy Puffs. Alyssa gulped. She didn't want to return Nerfball and was going to ask the Professor whether she could keep him. But she figured that she would put him in there for safekeeping until class was over and then she would go back and retrieve him and then ask the Professor at that time. So for now she walked over to the enclosure and slowly lowered Nerfball to join his friends. "I'll see you after class okay, Nerball. I'll miss you."Alyssa sadly waved at him before going up to the Professor.

"Hello Professor Williamson. It's a great day to be outdoors isn't it?" Alyssa smiled at the Professor before picking a log to sit on.

Holmesian Feline 03-13-2012 03:05 AM

After taking care of Doyle the pygmy puff for a time (and keeping him safe from the antics of Corvin) it seemed odd thinking of returning the creature to its rightful home. Oh well...it wasn't as if he was much of a pet person besides his familiar and those of his family. And there would probably be an argument at home that Cleo, Watson and Corvin were anything but pets.

Entering the COMC area ready for class, Gideon spotted the professor and the corral where the other pygmy puff resided. "Good day professor," he greeted with a polite nod, before moving to do as he was asked. "Here ye go," he said picking up the red puff from his spot and lowering him down to be amongst his fellows before straightening up. The 5th year then moved off to take a seat in the semi-circle ready for the lesson and curious what would behold them today.

He handed her her puff back and shook his head with a little sigh. "No no no...... we will NEVER feed pygmy puffs to any other creatures, Selena. Not in my class." How many times did he have to go over that with her? Silly child.

Not sure how to react to the mustache, William just pretended like it was an everyday occurrence. "I am doing well, my good student, sir, how are you?" He wondered if he should bust out his life-size Albus Dumbledore replica beard for today's lesson?

Nah, it'd just get in the way. Next class!

Hmmph. One of THE Hufflepufs. William's eyes narrowed at the girl sitting down and nodded stiffly to her greeting. No words, just a nod. That's all the acknowledgment she deserved.

His head swiveling toward the sound of a humming pygmy puff, William smiled at the sight of another Ravenclaw. Well well, look which House decided to show up at last!

"Hello, Ms. Gardiner," he greeted the girl back with a little wave.

Jory headed off to CoMC with Furball on his shoulder. "Hello, Professor Williamson,'' he said before going over to put his Puff with the others. "Bye Furball!'' He petted the creature before going off to take a seat on one of the wooden logs.

DuckyLinJi 03-13-2012 06:17 AM

Daichi thought that the third lesson would be in the barn as well. But he was surprised when he saw the students hanging outside and followed them until he saw the professor and a *classroom* outdoors. Not that he minded because he was more of an outdoors person anyway. Ducky Duck was on his shoulder and seemed to be sleeping. Her fur was going up and down softly and when Daichi heard they needed to give them back he froze. He stared at the professor. "sir?" he asked and looked at his sleeping pygmy puff. "Does it mean that if we place the Puff in there we are giving it back or...or... Is it just so we can move freely and can take them back with us after class?" because Daichi was getting really fond of his little Ducky Duck. And just in case they were for sending back he quickly added: " i-i-'ll pay for her!" not that he had any money with him right now...

So still with Ducky Duck sleeping on his shoulder he waited for an answer from the professor before he would place her with the others.

Glenn carried her pygmy puff, Elliot, on her shoulder as she head down to the Forbidden forest. Shiver. She had her hair in a semi neat ponytail that hung over her shoulder, not yet too frizzy but it would bound to become so in the spring heat.

Walking over to the wooden enclosure, Glenn gave a small kiss on the top of his her pygmy puff's head and dropped her in the enclosure gently, "Bye Elliot."

She walked over to the wooden logs and gave a smile to the professor, "Hello." she sat down on one of the wooden logs and looked hesitantly towards the forest. That was where all of those creepy creatures had been coming from. She loved forests, not quite the creatures in this one. ESPECIALLY, the spiders, the giant spider. Eww.

TakemetotheBurrow 03-13-2012 11:43 AM

Ella carried Barnabus on her shoulder, walking down to the edge of the forbidden forest. Though it was a beautiful spring day, she couldn't shake the uncomfortable feeling that being so close to a forest full of scary creatures was giving her.

Spotting Professor Williamson, she smiled. "Hi Professor, hope you're well!" Then she walked rather sadly over to where she would have to return Barnabus, her little buddy.

"Okay Barnabus, you have to stay with the other puffs from now on." She said, placing the little yellow fluff ball into the enclosure. "Try to remember all the great times we had together cause-" *Sniff* "we had a lot of fun. I'm going to miss you, Barny! Keep trying to refrain from eating boogers, you're making good progress." With that, Ella bent down and kissed the little guy on his little head. Barnabus, being so close to her nose, couldn't resist. "UGH! Barny, really?" She rolled her eyes at the puff but smirked. Then she went to find a seat.

affy7ann 03-13-2012 12:38 PM

Tayla walked to their next Care of Magical Creatures class. She spotted the handsome professor and smiled. "Good morning, Professor!" Tayla greeted, a little too eagerly. The nice day - and for some reason, seeing the professor - gave her an extra cheerful mood. She pet her pygmy puff Teacup then went towards the wooden enclosure Professor Williamson referred to. "Be good, Teacup," she said, hugging her pygmy puff once more before leaving the cute little creature inside the enclosure with the other puffs. Then Tayla went to the wooden logs and took the nearest seat to the professor she could find.

slytherus 03-13-2012 01:31 PM

Not long before the lesson was scheduled to start, Hades appeared and eyed those little fluff balls. Right... That assignment. Too bad he purposely forgot to pick one of those last time. Still, he can't deny those things were cute! But did he just heard that the students called the pygmy puffs with weird names? Shrugging, Hades walked to one of the logs scattered on the ground and nodded at Professor Williamson. "Good morning, professor~" greeted the boy with a cheeky smile.

WhittyBitty 03-13-2012 04:35 PM

Amelia smiled as she headed over to where the class was all assembled for the lesson. "Hello, Professor!" she said as she took a seat. She looked over at the enclosure for the Pygmy Puffs, and felt happy that Pixie was her own Puff and she didn't have to return her. It would have been too sad otherwise.

AmbiguouslyMe 03-13-2012 09:58 PM

Rot and bother. As Emrys stood there, conspicuously awkward, the seats were filling rapidly and he was no closer to making a decision.

Fidgeting with his bag, he put his head down and murmured a few low 'excuse me's as he sped through the slower students and plopped himself down in what he thought was the least objectionable spot remaining - the spot at which there were few directly across and, if they paid attention to the professor, not really facing his way.

He refrained from looking around the circle lest someone make eye-contact.

BanaBatGirl 03-14-2012 12:04 AM

annnnnd class has begun! Thank you all for attending! ^_^

Aww Daichi. Willy would be lying if he said that Slytherin didn't just make him smile. "We'll talk about it at the end of class, all right, Daichi? Remind me." He winked at the boy like he knew exactly what he was thinking and nodded toward the other students who were filing in now.

Annnd speaking of snakes.... "'Lo, Hades." William thought the boy looked familiar for some reason but couldn't exactly remember WHY he looked familiar right then and there....

"Hello, Amelia!" William returned the girl's smile.

And when one nervous-looking Ravenclaw took his seat at last, William stood up from his log and moved toward the center of the ring.

"All right, guys, let's go ahead and start. First off, I'd like to hear your thoughts on how you took care of your pygmy puffs and whether or not you liked that assignment. Just a little feedback for me to see if you learned anything after last lesson."

He smiled around at the group and tucked his hands into the pockets of his jeans. "Secondly, by contrast, you can answer this question for me: What makes a creature dangerous? What are some creatures you all have encountered that you would consider frightening or lethal?"

so long >.<

Kurumi had mildly returned Professor Williamson's wave, but her focus was on Momotaro II who had seemingly already forgotten her as he rolled around with the other py gmy puffs. Had that week they spent together meant nothing to him?! All the pumpkin soup baths and sugar cubes and grooming?! Frowning a bit, Kurumi turned her attention back to Professor Williamson and thought about his first question for a few moments before raising her hand to speak.

"I...sort of let my pygmy puff guide me," she said rather vaguely. "Last lesson, we discussed how pygmy puffs ought to act and created a general picture about them, but that is sort of like saying that all wizards are a certain way or that every pit bull dog is an attack dog. There are always exceptions. So, Momotaro II taught me about him. What he likes and dislikes and guided me as to how to properly care for him." That...answered the professor's question, right? She was more than willing to go into further details if he wanted, but she didn't want to go on and on when he could read about most of this in her journal entries. "I rather enjoyed the assignment. It taught me patience and that you really have to listen to the creature you are taking care of, look for signs and really study them."

And that was really all she had to say for now...could she have him back now? Please?

As for his second question, well, that one was a little tricky. To Kurumi, given the proper environment and circumstances, ANY creature could be considered dangerous really. Kurumi rubbed the back of her neck for a moment, thinking about how best to word what she wanted to say and trying her best to throw thoughts like 'dark creatures' and 'Minstry ratings' out the window. It took a bit, but Kurumi eventually raised her hand. "I think...that human fear and loathing are a major contributor. For example, the platypus is capable of producing a venom that can cause severe pain and even incapacitate a human, but we see them as being rather cute and cuddly where as other venom producing creatures, like some snakes, are seen as dangerous. I suppose the difference is that a platypus' venom cannot kill a person whereas other creatures' venom can." She swallowed, thinking a bit more about the topic and remember just HOW many times this term she had come face to face with two creatures that were definitely dangerous. Why? Because she feared for her life. "T-This term...I came face to face with a chimaera and an acromantula..." Both of which were frightening and potentially lethal. "What made me instantly think they were dangerous was, well, because they could kill me." Once again, human fear defining whether or not the creature was dangerous or not.

Lily waited as the professor started the lesson. Once he had finished talking, the ravenclaw raised her hand to answer the second section. "I think a creature is considered dangerous when it is hard to be handled by a normal wizard. Many times they repel spells or have some sort of defense mechanism like venom. An example would be a dragon or something like that." Lily was glad that she had read her textbook because it came in handy with questions like that.

Jessiqua 03-14-2012 12:42 AM

Zhenya didn't know how to answer the first question. She just loved the Pygmy Puff and wanted to have it forever! But holding her hand up, she though she would give some feedback, "Professor, the Pygmy Puffs were so much fun, and it was so good to be able to hold them in our hands, rather than just pat them," like... horses. You couldn't hold those.

For the next question... "And I think dangerous creatures are ones that have the potential to harm people whether or not they feel threatened, like if they are irrational creatures and hurt people a lot," she said. She had never come into contact with a dangerous creature. Well, sure Hippogriffs could be dangerous but only if you made them angry, and didn't approach them the way they should be approached.

HaRoHeGiNeLu 03-14-2012 12:45 AM

A moment was spared before answering Williamson's question just so Ellie could STARE at Kurumi. She wasn't glaring she was just....shocked? WHERE in the WORLD did she LEARN this stuff? Well...books, maybe, but... Well...WHY? WHY would ANYONE care about a platypus' venom?

Just...

ANYWAY. "I think it depends on the creature's ability to cause harm. One that could easily kill you would be more dangerous than one that could bite you. But one that could bite you would be more dangerous than one that can't or won't." Like...As Kurumi said, Acromantulas and Chimaeras were dangerous. Crups were less dangerous. And...well, Pygmy Puffs were not dangerous at all.

Right?

FireboltAvis88 03-14-2012 12:47 AM

Alyssa was eager to report about the time she spent with Nerfball so she raised her hand.

"Professor. I had a lot of fun with Nerfball. While I had him, I was able to more or less finalize the type of foods he eats. I've discovered that he'll eat almost anything edible. He was kind of afraid of the dead rat but that could be because the rat was almost larger than he was. I kept him clean by brushing his hair and making sure that I got all the food scraps out. I did notice that he didn't really like having water on him. Which brings me to first questions, can Pygmy Puff's swim? As for his gender, I figured out it out during his play time with the other Pygmy Puffs. I noticed that he had the same low squeek and behaviour with another male Puff. and when he played with another Pygmy Puff, a female, Nerfball was all excited and happy and kept bouncing on her. Which brings me to my second question, Professor? How do Pygmy Puffs...uh...procreate? Is it like how all the animals do it?

Even though we only had a short time together, Nerfball and I bonded really well. I really loved doing this assignment so much that I would like to ask you whether I could keep him.
" Alyssa quickly slipped out that question.

Then she quickly finished off by answering the second part of the Professor's question. "I think what makes a creature dangerous is it's unpredictable nature. If you know what to expect from it, you can avoid making it angry or take precautions to avoid getting hurt or killed. I only encountered a Thestral and Hippogriff, but I didn't find either of them frightening or lethal. For the Thestral since I couldn't see it, I felt more curious than anything else. As for the Hippogriff, since I had a chance to work with one last term, I knew what to do and not do."

Amelia raised her hand now. "It was great! I learned more about my Pigmy Puff. What she likes and doesn't like. And we bonded more. She's a great pet now." She even had Pixie in her pocket right now. D: She liked keeping her in her pocket lately besides in classes where it might be dangerous. "I liked the assignment because of all that." It had been a fun assignment!!

She thought about the second question now before answering that as well. "I think that creatures can be dangerous if they are threatened. Obviously something like a Flobberworm can't really hurt you... but others can. Also I think some creatures like hurting people. Either because they are mean, or they like to eat us."

Hey Ju 03-14-2012 01:01 AM

Sophie was sad because she had just returned Lavender. She didn't feel like talking at all, but raised her hand when Professor Williamson asked the first question. "I loved the assignment, Professor!" She started with a small smile, looking at where the Pygmy Puffs were. "Lavender and I had a great time together. She even helped me out with some homework!" Her smile widened a little. "It was really easy to take care of her, since she is so calm and quiet." Sophie wished she could keep Lavender. She had never wanted a pet before, but she had grown to love Lavender. Sigh. "I see now that a pet doesn't necessarily mess up your life." That's what she used to think, with all the taking-care-of-it work, feeding, bathing and blahblahblah. Sophie enjoyed all of that - at least for a week... maybe this feeling wouldn't last for much longer, though.

Anyway, what made a creature dangerous? "The fact that it can kill us makes a creature dangerous..." Right?? "And... well, creatures that can hurt us a lot can be considered dangerous too." At least in her opinion. Sophie then stopped to think. The first thought that came into her mind was a weird creature that once had hurt her mother's feet really bad. "Dugbogs are dangerous, professor!" Sophie didn't like them. After she saw her mother's feet, she hoped she would never see one of those creatures around.

She shifted on her seat so that she could lean back and rest her hands on the edge of the bench, legs stretched out and feet crossed at the ankles. If she could slip off her shoes she would, the prefect was that relaxed, and at the same times exited.

One hand had to rise to answer his questions though, didn't it? It went up briefly. "First. I liked caring for my foster pygmy, MO." It had her missing, smore, but not enough to take him back from her sister. As if such a thing would be possible now anyway. "It was interesting to watch her eating habits now that I had a clearer idea of what they ate." And explained why so many of her snacks just up and disappeared.

"Second, what makes a creature dangerous to us is there method of defending themselves and attacking, and their eating habits. If a creature is herbivorous, and first natural instinct is to run from danger instead of taking the offense, then they're not that dangerous to us. But if they're like an acromantula who don't fear people or mind eating them, then they're pretty dangerous. They don't have to both prey on humans and be offensive in nature like the acromantula, but having one of those qualities is enough to make them dangerous." Her feet swayed happily as she paused to ponder her response. "But even a creature who's first instinct is to run can become dangerous depending on the situation. So maybe, sometimes it just depends on the situation for some to be dangerous, and others are just that way naturally. I've met many of the former, and only a handful of the later. Acromantulas, dragons, a kappa, a sphinx..." She could go on, but the prefect was getting tired of talking. Hehe.

Walrus 03-14-2012 01:35 AM

The Pygmy puffs, trav could care less about. Mister Professor was speaking about DANGEROUS CREATURES! Fun!

Travis thought for a second composing his words carefully. He always wanted to speak as fluently as possible... especially when he since he seemed to stumble over his words when he got supper excited about a certain topic.

Breath...

Trav then raised his hand. "Well, sir." he started, his answer was going to be complete and scholarly. "If they're big and go RAAAWWRRR!" Trav demonstrated large claws with his hands waving them fiercely, and stomping his feet. "...Then they are scary and icky, and if they are scary then they must be bad... and bad things are always mean and dangerous."

Not that Travis minded, he loved big scary icky slime monsters... they could be all cuddly sometimes.

Glenn raised her hand, "Well- I found that my Pygmy Puff was actually a... well a girl not a boy." But the pygmy puff still remained with the boys name that she had first given him. She had liked her pygmy puff, maybe slightly less than everyone else had liked there's. Cats were more interesting to Glenn; they did much more stuff.

Now, to the second question. She knew a quite bit about this one, kinda. Living on the edge of Sherwood Forest gave you some knowledge about the creepy creatures that resided there. "A dangerous creature would be an animal that could hurt a witch or wizard or a magical creature that could show itself and harm muggles." Like a dragon or something creepy and big like that; like the stuff that resided in the forbidden forest.

William listened thoughtfully to Kurumi's first answer, nodding along as she spoke. "Well said, Prefect Hollingberry. I'm glad you enjoyed it. It sounded like you got a lot out of the project." And he was quite happy about that.

He waited for her answer about the second question and continued nodding. "Good answer." Something was bugging William in the back of his mind about the acromantula/chimaera sighting but he shook it off. "So how did you react in that situation?"

Had she really been face-to-face with BOTH those creatures??? Geez.

He loved dragons.

"Good work with your research and journals, Alyssa. Pygmy Puffs can float but no, they don't really.... swim." He winced a little at her awkward second question and shrugged. "They're just like other animals. One of one gender and one of another gender...." And she could get the picture from that.

ANYWAY. "Those of you who want to keep your pygmy puffs should see me after class, all right?" Will shot a glance toward Kurumi and Daichi too, since they had seemed particularly torn up about leaving their puffs in the corral.

"Right, it's like Zhenya said. Irrational, unpredictable creatures are hard to handle. I know you worked with Hippogriffs in the past but I'm sure you didn't work with wild ones." Like the one that had attacked his arm... ooh. That memory came flooding back all of a sudden. Who knew Hippogriff talons could be so sharp?!

Aww and here was another student who wanted to keep her puff, judging from the way she was talking about it. He would definitely have to talk to those who wanted to keep theirs after class.

"I'm glad you learned something from the assignment. Pets are definitely NOT too much work." He loved his pet cruppy. "Creatures that can kill are definitely ones you should worry about, right, and dugbogs, which are not known for killing, are certainly dangerous toward your ankles!" He could agree with that one, having personal knowledge on such an attack.

She had met acromantulas, dragons, kappas, and a sphinx....?! "Were you in danger in any of those situations, Arya? Why don't you tell us how you reacted to those creatures."

It looked like about everyone had spoken, so, time for the next question then! "All right, so, we've talked about what makes creatures dangerous, things like: Can an average wizard handle them? Are they irrational and unpredictable? Are you encountering them in a sticky situation where they might feel threatened and want to fight? Or are you just projecting your own fear and loathing on the creature?"

He stood up then and again looked off into the forest as if waiting for something. "When you come face-to-face with a dangerous creature like some of the ones we're going to see today, you should ask yourself those questions as well as a few others. What do you think your first move should be when you find, say, a blast-ended skrewt coming up the path toward your house?"

Geez.

"Good, good clear response, Lily." William acknowledged the Ravenclaw with another nod. "Dragons are most definitely dangerous but, when handled well, they are beautiful creatures."

He loved dragons.

Chuckling at the Slytherin's answer, William smiled. "I'm glad you enjoyed the assignment!" As for her second response.... "Yes, that's a good point. Irrational creatures, like irrational people, are hard to handle because it's hard to predict what they're going to do next."

Er. That answer was confusing, but William blinked and nodded at the Ravenclaw anyway. "Sure. Right. You're saying that the bigger the bite, the more dangerous the creature?"

He couldn't think of anything large and harmless, anyway, nothing like a giant kitten. So. Sure, Ellie, sure.

Merlin, Alyssa's answer was just like... having an entire conversation in five seconds without taking a breath. But at least it was thorough!

"Great! Glad you enjoyed it." William smiled at the girl, feeling almost like she probably had her pygmy puff on her person in the middle of class but choosing not to say anything about it.

"That's also a good point. So we have irrational, unpredictable creatures; creatures that are threatened; human fear and loathing; and hard to handle creatures that are all considered 'dangerous' by you all so far."

Perhaps they should be writing that down? Mmm?

Aww and here was another student who wanted to keep her puff, judging from the way she was talking about it. He would definitely have to talk to those who wanted to keep theirs after class.

"I'm glad you learned something from the assignment. Pets are definitely NOT too much work." He loved his pet cruppy. "Creatures that can kill are definitely ones you should worry about, right, and dugbogs, which are not known for killing, are certainly dangerous toward your ankles!" He could agree with that one, having personal knowledge on such an attack.

"Pygmy puffs sure do have interesting eating habits," William agreed with a tiny smile, listening to her second answer too. "So the fight vs. flight instincts of a creature factor into its level of danger, I would say that's a fair analysis. Situations have an impact too, good!"

She had met acromantulas, dragons, kappas, and a sphinx....?! "Were you in danger in any of those situations, Arya? Why don't you tell us how you reacted to those creatures."

Fighting back a laugh at the way the mustached kid was going all RAWRRR on Willy, the professor simply tilted his head at the boy. "But not all scary things are bad and dangerous, right, and not all mean things are scary. For example," his voice suddenly got louder, "Professor Scabior is a mean person, but is he scary? Not in the slightest." The man was all talk and no action. "So that doesn't mean he's dangerous. Think on this in relation to our discussion on creatures." He winked at the kid.

William chuckled a bit at that question too. "Well that's good to know..." At least the puff wouldn't be insulted by being called by the wrong gender now. Heh. "I'm glad you brought up Muggles, actually, we'll be talking about them shortly. Thanks, Glenn."

Williamson was curious to see their reactions to such a scenario, particularly since he thought he had heard something about a few students actually being IN such a scenario.....

'We're going to be working with dangerous creatures today? Cool' Alyssa thought to herself. Then she thought about the possibility of facing a creature that she wasn't familiar with. Alyssa thought for awhile before slowly raising her hand. "Professor I know my first tendency would be to head in the opposite direction, like run. But I've heard that sometimes running makes the creature more angry. So I guess my first move would be to figure out what it intends to do. Maybe it is just taking a walk and means no harm at all." 'Yeah right' Alyssa thought to herself.

Kurumi cocked her head to the side when he turned her answer around and asked her another question. How had she reacted? Well, she had silenced a Hufflepuff for being loud for one, but that wasn't exactly creature related. "To be entirely honest, professor, I panicked. It is one thing to read about creatures in a book and then be put in a safe environment to interact with them like we have been with creatures in class, such as with dealing with hippogriffs last term." Which she had also encountered this term too...and it hadn't returned her bow or even seemed interested in following typical hippogriff protocol. "But...when you are not expecting it and they appear suddenly and attack you because they are looking for a meal...your mind sort of goes blank and instincts take over." Truth. Honest to Merlin truth. "My hand was on my wand and casting Stunning Spells before I really realized I was doing it. I didn't want to harm them, but I didn't want them to eat me either." She swallowed. "The Acromantula spoke with us though..."

She trailed off there, not sure if NOW was the time to go into such details. Might set everyone in the class into a panic.

Catching Professor Williamson's glance, the Gryffindor smiled weakly. She really WANTED to keep the pygmy puff, but she physically couldn't. Not when she had a certain feline back in the dorms. Maybe she could work out something else? Volunteer to help care for them or something so that she could still be a part of Momotaro II's life? She would be sure to speak with Professor Williamson after class. Yush. There might even be cookies involved not that the man didn't already deserve cookies.

Notes notes note and more notes. Kurumi attempted to keep up with all the little tidbits and explanations Professor Williamson gave as he addressed each student individually. Her quill movements froze when he spoke though.

When you come face-to-face with a dangerous creature like some of the ones we're going to see today

Well, THAT was a cheerful and encouraging thought. Was HE the one setting all the creatures loose on the grounds? He had seemed all excited about the thestral and hippogriff...been suspiciously missing while she and Kennedy assisted the Headmaster and Professor Scabior with the Acromantula and Chimaera. Hmmm....interesting...

Pausing for a moment again, Kurumi raised her hand. "When I encountered creatures on the grounds," where they ought NOT be spotted to begin with. "...I wondered just WHY they were there instead of their natural habitat. So...when I could, I tried to observe what was going on in my surroundings for a clue as to why they were there. The same could be said for the blast-ended skrewt. So...my first move is to have my hand on my wand, just in case, and eyes on the creature observing."

He smiled around at the group and tucked his hands into the pockets of his jeans. "Secondly, by contrast, you can answer this question for me: What makes a creature dangerous? What are some creatures you all have encountered that you would consider frightening or lethal?"

Nerida had put little Squeaky in the box, not really wanting to. She didnt anwser the Professor, there were no words for her time with Squeaky. What makes a creature dangeorus, hmm if it looks like it wants to kill you and creatures that feel that they are going to be harmed!
Nerida beamed when the Professor said to come talk to him after class if they wanted to keep the pygmy puffs, he just go back on her yay list! She quickly wrote down what the teacher said knowing shed be able to read her fast handwriting. She thought for a moment and then said Look around, see what could of made the skrewt come to your house, but dont turn your back on it, having your wand ready just in case the animal becomes wild, and being pepared for anything to happen. And definetaly dont run, unless you know how it will react.

"No....?" Arya seemed to be questioning this as well as she thought for a moment on those encounters, head tilting to the side a bit. "I was here at Hogwarts for all but the dragons. There was a bit of running from the acromantulas," And spell casting and giggling, she was sure there was giggling. "And the kappa.... he was totally under control, so was the sphinx I... think." Though now that she REALLY thought about it, something terrible could have happened.

Grinning, a shrug rolled off her shoulders. "Someone that was skilled in handling those creatures was around so I was more fascinated by them than frightened. Mostly. I still didn't do anything foolish since there were very dangerous." And hungry some of them. "But I'm not one to panic around creatures in any situation..."

Oh they were going to see more today? Awesome!

The prefect seriously considered his question, though her eyes were on the forest now as her hand went up and back down. "I wouldn't draw attention to myself, and would make sure I had my want to protect myself." But she'd also stick around for a minute or two just to admire. "For my first move." It was like, a combo move or something. Heh.

Still thinking about how Daichi had already brought up the idea of if they could keep the pygmy puffs they'd bonded with over the week, Stella had honestly distracted herself from really answering Professor Williamson. Besides, everyone else seemed to have much more interesting stories when it came to their puffs, and she hadn't really encountered any dangerous creatures in her sixteen plus years of life. Not if you didn't count her ex and the part-veelas at Beauxbatons, and she was fairly certain the professor wouldn't count them. So most of her knowledge came from what she'd read. Her head had snapped up as the professor had mentioned staying after class to talk about keeping their puffs, though. Maybe there was still a chance she could keep Nuage, although he really seemed like he didn't want it mentioned again. Pestering the professor wouldn't work, then, but she could wait.

Her hand slowly raised as the discussion had continued, though. Hesitantly. considering the professor was looking out at the forest as if he expected something to come out and meet them at any time. "If I found a blast-ended skrewt coming up the path towards me, the first thing I'd do is make sure I had my wand ready to defend myself. There is always the possibility that I could just avoid confrontation, but creatures like that don't generally care if you're running or just standing there. I don't think so, at least. But, in the same respect, I'd only be able to Stun it, or do any damage at all, if I hit it in the belly, right?," she said, checking her information a little at the end. That only was in reference to skrewts, though. The wand thing would be important with any dangerous creature.

Gabrielle 03-14-2012 07:25 AM

Th-they where going to see?? Glenn's hands started shaking so she folded them in her lap and tried to keep the tremble out of her voice as she answered the question, "You...run away or hide?" She had done that before. Her brother and her would go walking through the forest by their house and sometimes a creepy creature would come out and they would run away from it. Not so Gryffindorish behaviour.

slytherus 03-14-2012 08:25 AM

Never before Hades had paid so much attention in class that he didn't even stop writing down the notes. Merlin! Could Williamson go any faster? If he did, Hades might have to give up on the notes. He hadn't used his hand to write for quite a while which was why he never submitted his homeworks. Williamson's following question was interesting. What if dangerous creatures were heading their way? Putting down his quill on his lap, Hades raised his hand. "It depends on the creatures. If it's a Blast-Ended Skrewt, as you said, the Impediment Jinx can come in useful. But for the younger students, example, who don't know the jinx, my suggestion is run for your life." Not that he had came across any. If it was a werewolf, then Hades might have some ideas...

Sarassi thought hard and long about such a scenario until finaly saying Well due to the nature of the blast-ended skrewts, it wouldnt be very safe to run for the heels as it could capture you from behind and um hurt you. If the skrewt became hostile and you were a skilled witch or wizard you could peform the Impediment Jinx on it. But I wouldnt attack unless it attacks first, it could be just getting some fresh air, not harming a soul and all of a sudden it gets attacked for looking scary.

DuckyLinJi 03-14-2012 10:16 AM

Daichi nodded his head vigorously when the Professor told him to speak to him after class and after quickly placing Ducky Duck with the other puffs and sat down he grinned.

As the first question came, Daichi raised his hand. But everyone was talking almost at the same time that he couldn't get through and had the feeling he was being ignored when the second question came.

As the minutes flew by, Daichi became a bit uneasy as they began to talk about dangerous creatures. Why dangerous creatures? Why not stick with the adorable fluffly ones?! Or have a lesson about ducks! Those are creatures too, he would literally pay all the money he had to get a lesson about those cute widdle duckies.

But it seemed it would never happen... siiiigh. Daichi shifted a little where he was seated and nervously bit his lip when the talk got to the blast ended skrewts. He had heard about them... they had fire. Daichi didn't like fire. In fact, he was terrified of it. Having Pyrophobia is not something he wished to show in class. He'd already lost his cool in DADA but back then it had been dark in the classroom. Now they were in the open for everyone to see his pale face.

Shaking his head, Daichi tried to answer the question though as he raised his hand. But only a soft mutter came out before he lowered it again. He didn't think he was going to like this lesson if real skrewts showed up...

WhittyBitty 03-14-2012 11:19 AM

Amelia smiled as she started taking notes on what the Professor was saying. She thought it was a good idea to have this all written down so she could remember it in case an evil creature came for her. Or for Pixie. She wanted her Pygmy Puff to be safe too. Pixie was hers and no one else's. Pixie had been her Christmas present from her parents. D:

When the scenario of the blast-ended skrewt was presented, she raised her hand immediately. "I'd make sure that everyone was inside to be safe and have my wand at the ready. I wouldn't attack it until I knew if it was actually trying to do harm instead of just walking by. You wouldn't want to randomly blast an oblivious skrewt because then you'd definitely be dealing with an angry creature."

TakemetotheBurrow 03-14-2012 11:54 AM

Ella sighed when she didn't get a chance to share her experience with Barny but her diary notes had been detailed so Professor Williamson would hear all about it anyways.

The small badger's eyes grew wide when Williamson said they would be seeing dangerous creatures today. WHY? She didn't want to meet anything dangerous, she'd much rather have another pygmy puff bowling lesson! Then the Professor had mentioned the skrewt and Ella gave a start, remembering the 'incident' on the pathways...was Oakey here in class too? She raised her hand. "Professor, er-I encountered a skrewt on the pathways and erm...it kind of er-it came at us so I ran to find a Professor while the other two, classmates of mine, stood with their wands at the ready..." Which had been quite unsuccessful. "It um-well I returned with Professor Jenkins, he was the only one I could find, and he tried to handle the situation but the skrewt charged us!" Ella gave a shrudder thinking about the experience. "So my classmate levitated it off of us and then the skrewt kind of just left...like it was called away or something..." Which was STRANGE. "Professor, I clearly don't know what one is supposed to do in that situation..." She said sheepishly, hoping they wouldn't be meeting that same skrewt!

"Don't panic?" Janice said, not quite surely after raising her hand. "And you should not underestimate the Blast-Ended Skrewts or any pther dangerous creature you're facing. Better leave them to the experts to be handled, unless you are an expert yourself."

BOWTRUCKLES! 03-14-2012 02:28 PM

Scampering quickly across the grass, the bowtruckle was stealthy. It saw what it wanted way in the distance and no human child was going to get in its way this time.

Hopefully.

sweetpinkpixie 03-14-2012 02:35 PM

Listening to her classmates' answers, Kurumi jotted down a few points of notice along with some other ideas that their comments sparked when she thought she heard something. Snapping her head around, Kurumi's violet eyes searched the grass for the source of the distraction, but was unable to see anything other than sticks. Although...something did look a little bigger than the average stick...but it was too far away from her to tell.

Just to be safe, Kurumi picked her feet up off the ground and crossed her legs on the bench she was sitting on. You know, in case the noise was actually something and it wanted to nibble on her toes.

FearlessLeader19 03-14-2012 03:45 PM

Jory raised his hand. "Well, the first thing your instinct will tell you to do it run. But some may just draw their wands and wait to see what the Skrewt will do and then the persons will try to defend their territories,'' he said.

As he spoke, Jory thought he saw something move in the grass, but when he looked he could see nothing. Just to be safe, he pulled his feet closer to himself. He didn't want anything to jump on them or even take a bite.

Alyssa noticed something move from the corner of her eye. She glanced in that direction and couldn't see anything except for the slightest rustling of the grass. Could it be the wind or were they no longer alone??

As Daichi waited for the Professor to speak again. And hopefully say they weren't going to deal with skrewts, he gazed towards the place where the pygmy puffs were and even though he couldn't see Ducky Duck anymore in it , he still smiled at the thought of maybe getting her back after class.

Out of the corner of his eye he thought he saw something moving and turned his gaze away from the Pygmy Puffs towards the grass. But as he looked he didn't see anything so he figured it must have been his imagination.

WhittyBitty 03-14-2012 07:23 PM

Amelia started to look around the area while absentmindedly petting Pixie when she heard a sound. Curious, she turned her gaze to where she had heard it and saw nothing other than the sticks on the ground. One stick looked a little suspicious though, and she raised her brow, seeing that other students were also looking. Clearly she wasn't hearing things in that case.

Walrus 03-14-2012 08:20 PM

Trav nodded, he hadn't thought of that. The moustache was starting to peel off. He quickly adjusted it... and went back to nodding in agreement.

He then took a breath when mister professor moved onto the next person.

Then they were talking about fiery buttocksed skrewt. OOOH! OOOOOOH! Trav knew how to answer this one. He quickly raised his hand. "Uhmmm...Ughhh.... I lost it..." He said slowly. "Oh Wait... you could bring it out a glass of lemonade and hope to befriend it... or if it's winter then bring it some hot cocoa." yup. Make friends with the mean old buttocks and it will all be okay... "then it will become your best friend, and when you're in trouble it's save you're life, and you will all live happily on the coast in a log cabin... just you, the boom buttocks skrewt... and that weird-o named Jeffery that just wont leave your house."

Why was Jeffery so weird?

Hey Ju 03-14-2012 08:48 PM

Ooooo, so there was a chance they could keep the Puffs? Sophie liked that possibility! She even felt happier now and sat up straight.

She watched as Professor Williamson stood up and looked into the forest. Her eyes followed in the direction he was looking and... wait... "dangerous creature like some of the ones we're going to see today"??? Say what, professor?? Sophie's eyes widened. He wasn't going to put them in any dangerous situation, was he?? She blinked a couple of times. No... that was Hogwarts! The professors wouldn't do anything that could hurt them... right? Just like in DADA! No harm!

Sophie slowly raised her hand before answering. "We... stand still?" Frozen with fear! But also because it wouldn't scare the creature, so it wouldn't attack or anything... right????

Lissy Longbottom 03-14-2012 09:07 PM

Alex had to stop himself from physically rolling his eyes at some of the answers people were giving. Did they WANT to end up a char-broiled mess of flesh when they met something dangerous like that? Sure sounded like it. He raised his hand and cleared his throat before answering what he thought was the ONLY logical answer.

"Well, first and foremost, you need to remain calm. If you're freaking out, you won't be able to think rationally and might end up doing something that causes you harm or scares the creature into hurting you. So your first step should probably be to stop, take a few deep breaths, and just THINK about what you'd do in this situation," he said.

Ella was listening to her classmates answer Williamson's question when she could have sworn she saw something out of the corner of her eye. She shook her head, thinking all the talk about skrewts was just making her a little nervous. It was probably nothing...

Laura looked at the Professor well that was an easy question. "Professor you have to phone the police if one of them is walking upto your door, because someone wants you dead." Laura was sure that one of them wouldn't be able to walk upto your house on their own, so surely someone behind the animal doing it.

Williamson was curious to see their reactions to such a scenario, particularly since he thought he had heard something about a few students actually being IN such a scenario.....

Well, they could always question who else they could toss into the line of fire to help them get away from the creature. Surely there'd be a willing Hufflepuff and a non-willing Gryffindor nearby. Sierra didn't think that answer would go over too well with WWW, though. Especially seeing as she sprt of, kind of, maybe forgot to turn in his homework assignment...

"I think it'd be a good idea to flick your wand out your holster," Sierra suggested, raising her hand. Then, like, Puffer Brother said over there, "Using your brains wouldn't hurt either. Not all creatures are approached in the same way, so you need to figure out what's best in that situation." A few seconds of silence passed as the wheels in Sierra's head continued to turn. "But you know, if...say, a Nundu was coming after you, I think it should be socially acceptable with everyone to just throw all caution to the wind, turn around, and make a run for it."

Laura suddenly saw something out of the corner of her eye, she was going to keep an eye on this thing and maybe this was why the Professor was telling them that they had to be prepared, because well this whatever it was might attack them, though she was sure that it wouldn't do any damage, whatever it was actually looked cute.

As he was writing down notes, Hades thought he saw something at the corner of his eyes. He quickly looked at the direction. Nothing. Strange... He was sure that he saw something. It wasn't his imagination for sure because there were also other students who looked at the same direction. Hades looked around the area suspiciously before he continued with his notes. What was that thing?

But I've heard that sometimes running makes the creature more angry. So I guess my first move would be to figure out what it intends to do. Maybe it is just taking a walk and means no harm at all." 'Yeah right' Alyssa thought to herself.

"Yes, good." William nodded. "You should NEVER just flat-out RUN from an approaching dangerous creature, UNLESS you're in a situation where you can see it from a distance, but it can't see you, so you still have time to make a safe getaway."

"Well, panicking is not a good thing," Williamson frowned at Kurumi. At least she knew it was bad, now, and had a better plan for action... or so it seemed. He found it mighty suspicious that SHE just HAPPENED to be at the scene of all these creature 'attacks' though... hmmm.... what was that saying about the perpetrator being present at the scene of the crime....?

Anyway. "Yes, so, your new strategy is much better." He forced himself to refocus back on the Gryffie prefect. "Wand in hand, ready, and WATCHING. Always keep your eyes open."

SPOILER!!: ANOTHER PREFECT, ANOTHER STORY.

Though now that she REALLY thought about it, something terrible could have happened.

Heh.

"I'm glad to hear that you don't panic around any sort of creature, Arya." Perfect. She could be his first volunteer for today's lesson, then. Heh. "Keep your head down and your attention to yourself, yes, good."

Wand ready? "Good answer," William flicked his brown eyes toward the Ravenclaw briefly."Let's not talk about spells just yet.... but yes, in the case of a blast-ended skrewt, if you have ANY chance of doing ANY damage to it at all, you HAVE to his the armor-less section of its stomach."

If the skrewt became hostile and you were a skilled witch or wizard you could peform the Impediment Jinx on it. But I wouldnt attack unless it attacks first, it could be just getting some fresh air, not harming a soul and all of a sudden it gets attacked for looking scary.

"Daichi?" William swiveled his head toward the boy when a sound like a whimper came out of his mouth. "You all right there, bud?" If he could read minds, he would definitely say something was frightening the boy....already...

"Professor, er-I encountered a skrewt on the pathways and erm...it kind of er-it came at us so I ran to find a Professor while the other two, classmates of mine, stood with their wands at the ready..." Which had been quite unsuccessful. "It um-well I returned with Professor Jenkins, he was the only one I could find, and he tried to handle the situation but the skrewt charged us!" "Professor, I clearly don't know what one is supposed to do in that situation..." She said sheepishly, hoping they wouldn't be meeting that same skrewt!

She ran for Oliver Jenkins, of all people? Really, Ella??? William let out a loud chortle before he was able to clap a hand over his mouth. It took him a few seconds before he regained and control and was able to nod seriously at her answer.

"Well, at least that... worked?" He shrugged. "You were able to get to the soft underbelly of the skrewt, anyway...." Something was nagging him in the back of his mind about why the skrewt was supposedly called away.... but he couldn't recall it anymore.....

Jory jumped up from his seat, sweeping his surroundings with another look hoping there was no dangerous creature around. He was so sure he saw something move.

Jory thought of an answer to Professor Williamson grabbed a twig off the ground. "I think we should wait for the Skrewt to make the first move. Or else shoot an Impediment jinx at it,'' he said, hand in the air.

Alyssa stood up and did what the Professor told them to do. She took out her wand and stood in a defensive position just like he was doing and stood very still, just like he was doing and then raised her other hand to answer,"Professor would we wait to see what it intends to do, but at the same time, be alert for any sudden moves and do we also make sure that we are still at a safe distance just in case it decides to attack you?"

Alyssa's eyes then opened really wide when she saw what the Professor was holding. "Uh Professor...the thing in your wand hand..."Alyssa said pointing at it and quickly pointed her wand at it when she saw it bite the Professor.

Anyway. "Yes, so, your new strategy is much better." He forced himself to refocus back on the Gryffie prefect. "Wand in hand, ready, and WATCHING. Always keep your eyes open."

Was he eyeing her strangely? She should be the one eyeing him strangely. After all, they were now having a lesson about dealing with dangerous creatures when there had been a bunch on campus already. Seemed like a cover up to her and Professor Williamson should have released some dragons on the grounds because THAT would have been awesome.

Really though, it had been her first interaction with a dangerous creature outside of a class setting, acting perfectly would have been astonishing. Live and learn, right?

Were they supposed to copy his movements? Kurumi didn't actually stand up, but instead remained crossed legged on her bench with her wand out and her upper body in a defensive position like he was demonstrating.

Oh, wait, they were supposed to stand up. hehe. Kurumi Jumped to her feet and re-positioned herself and was about to answer with her thoughts when...

o________________O

HIS WAND CAME TO LIFE?! Well, it wasn't actually his wand but a stick that he had picked up off the ground, only it wasn't a stick at all and Kurumi immediately recognized it as a bowtruckle. But...why was it munching on Professor Williamson?!

Her eyes darted around the area, looking for something in particular, when she noticed a small tree not too far from where she was standing. Leaning over, Kurumi checked its branches and leaves, hoping that the tiny insects were present. Come on...come on...AHA!

Kurumi waved her wand over the insects (wood lice) and levitated a few into the air, guiding them towards Professor Williamson and the obviously hungry bowtruckle.

What he would personally do? Hmm... "Depends on the size. I can perform a descent Impediment Jinx, but if it's large, then I'd run for m-" he stopped, bulging his eyes as he saw something root-like hanging on the professor's hand. Was that a Mandrake? No, no, no! "PROFESSOR!! BOWTRUCKLE!!!" called out the boy pointing at the professor's wand hand with his wand.

Alex beamed at Professor Williamson's reaction to his answer. He KNEW he'd gotten it right, and was so glad the professor agreed that some people just didn't THINK. Hehe. This dude was pretty cool, Alex had decided. Pretty cool indeed.

Chuckling a bit at the fact that the professor had forgotten his wand, Alex stood as instructed and pulled out his wand, when suddenly...the stick the professor had grabbed was MOVING! Alex blinked a few times as the stick seemed to chomp down on the professor's hand, and it was like a Lumos spell had been cast on his brain--Alex knew exactly what it was. A bowtruckle. Not hard to piece together when you thought about where they were, and what sticks were capable of BITING another human being.

At least he hadn't gotten the long, spiny finger claws. OUCH.

"Professor! Are you ok??? I can get the nurse!" Alex offered. He noticed a prefect...the Gryffindor one his friend August was always hanging around...giving the bowtruckle some of that wood lice stuff they supposedly liked so much, so he figured he should probably make sure their teacher wasn't about to lose a finger or anything while she handled THAT situation.

"Eh? Y-yeah i'm fine" the Slytherin tried to smile but the thought of a Skrewt that blew fire at him kept playing in his minds eye and he had to shake his head to concentrate.

Deciding to ignore his thoughts and concentrate on the lesson, Daichi raised an eyebrow at the Professor when he heard him mumbling. He couldn't hear what he was saying but he did see his lips moving. It reminded him of his older brother who was always mumbling when frustrated, hehe. This thought got him relaxed a bit more and stood up with the rest of the class like instructed. He also took his phoenix feather wand and listened and was about to answer when....

The twig in the mans hand came to life and bit him!

"WAAH! WHAT THE!?" The Slytherin shouted in his higher than usual pitched voice from shock. He was already tensed up by the Skrewt talk and now this?! The third year almost fell backwards to the ground. Luckily, he could balance himself and looked panicky , not knowing what to do because he had no idea what that thing was.

Ella was somewhat annoyed by Professor Williamson's reaction, especially since she initially tried to get him though he was out or something. She tried not to let the annoyance show on her face and kind of nodded when the man started to speak. "Er-yeah I guess it did work..." Only it hadn't really. Something had helped to call the skrewt away.

Then Williamson was standing with the uh-stick at the ready and asking them to do the same. Ella pulled her wand out and took in her surroundings, pretending a skrewt was in front of her. "Professor, I agree with my classmates. I'd see what the skrewt was going to do first." Maybe it would just kind of walk away, not wanting to hurt such a small human...that would be nice.

Then the stick-thing in Williamson's hand was moving and it-it bit him?! "Professor!" Ella said, wide-eyed. "Are you alright?!"

Laura wanted to bite the thing back but well the Professor would deal with it, though she had a good idea. "Professor if you want I'll interview the thing to find out why it is here." Amelia couldn't help but giggle as Professor Williamson searched for her wand. He wasn't even prepared for class with his wand. D: SNORT. Watching him pick up a stick, she raised her brow. It was a weird looking stick. :/

Eh.

Standing up now, she was about to answer the next question when suddenly the 'stick' began to move. "PROFESSOR! You're holding a BOWTRUCKLE!"

CHOMP it went on Professor Williamson's hand and Amelia winced. "Are you okay, Professor?"

Quick Quotes Quill 03-15-2012 04:03 PM

Although many of the students had noticed the bowtruckle, Gwen hadn’t. She simply drew her attention towards the Professor while she thought of an answer to he last question. What to do if a skrewt came by? Maybe Evanesco?,she thought, but before saying that out loud, she remembered what she’d read about the spell. Perhaps making the animal going into non-being wouldn’t be the best answer to give in a CARE of magical creatures class.

Something else, then…, the third year thought. Expulso? Errr… maybe the animal shouldn’t explode either. ‘What about using a Freezing Charm?’ What- it wouldn’t harm the skrewt, right? ‘Or… a spell that one can surely cast’ Spells could go wrong too… and it wouldn’t be a good thing to make the creature angry and make it snap back at you. Or maybe an Incarcerous? Hmm. What about Petrificus Totalus? 'Or...Levitate the skrewt with a Wingardium Leviosa?', the girl mused.

All right. One thing was sure- she should definitely stop reading about too many spells. Merlin’s beard, she could have given a decent answer like a normal person would have. Like...‘ask for help’… but she would have never done that, anyway… or ‘stay still and start moving backwards’ But noooo. Gwen had to think of all the possible spells.

Wait- -

‘Is that a BOWTRUCKLE?’, she mumbled, finally able to see the creature. When did that thing appear?, the third year asked herself as she looked around for a second. Errr… had absolutely everyone except her seen the bowtruckle??

Evelyn raised her eyebrows in amusement when she noticed that Willy was actually searching for his wand. Nice. He didn't even bring his wand to class. He proceeded to pick up a twig, substituting it for a wand.

She stood up and..

Wait...was the stick in Willy's hand moving!?

"Will---" Honestly, she should remember NOT to say those nicknames aloud. "I mean, Professor! It's a bowtruckle!" Evelyn exclaimed. Of course! She'd seen it before in the Topiary Garden.

She winced slightly when she saw it bite Willy. Eeek. That must be painful. At least, he sure wouldn't forget his wand the next time round.

In Ellie's opinion, these were the worst answers possible. And Williamson said they were good. HAH.

So if she was facing a Blast-Ended Skrewt, and had her wand, what would she do? "I'd apparate." DUH. "Go somewhere safe and contact the Creatures department at the Ministry and have them deal with it." You know, trained professionals and all that.

And....

Ellie wasn't going to follow suit and freak out over the bowtruckle. In fact, it hardly fazed her. If he was the Creatures professor, he should be more than able to handle it on his own, no? Especially if he was about to teach the students how to act in a situation far worse than having a bowtruckle bite your hand.

It was a wonder Emrys didn't do better in Divination, given that he nearly always was able to predict what embarrassing thing would happen to him within a span of a few hours.

First, he'd been thrown off balance by conversation about dangerous creatures loose on the grounds. Getting a bit warm under the collar, he'd begun squirming as his classmates described what they did. This is why I don't leave the castle, he thought to himself.

But the surprise of the twig in the professor's hand wheeling around and biting him? It wasn't that it was particularly frightening, but it was startling and Emrys' body jerked involuntarily at the sight, sending him toppling backward off his log and knocking his glasses from his face.

The Blast-Ended Skrewt scurried into the lesson...it had followed a trail of other animals from his home...its nice dark home in the Forbidden Forest...afraid that no one would see it since it was below their knees and all the lil students were preoccupied by the man waving a bowtruckle...a bowtruckle how odd......it decided to make a statement a little here I am...

It raised its pinchers in the air and shot a huge flame up in the air...

0_________________0 Ella felt like she was reliving some kind of nightmare. Her eyes grew wide as suddenly a skrewt appeared. IS THIS REAL LIFE? she thought, holding her wand out in front of her. She turned her head to Williamson with a frightened expression and tried to speak in a soft voice, "P-p-professor, t-th-the sk-skrewt!" Her voice was quiet but urgent and she was rooted to the spot when the skrewt decided to suddenly launch a huge flame into the air. Ella flinched but still couldn't move, as she watched. Now that he had heard a few students yelling that it was a bowtruckle , Daichi vagely remembered reading about them before but that had been it.

As he waited for the Professor to confirm that he was alright, his dark brown eyes caught the attention of something at the right.

Seeing the huge flame up in the air, his face paled even more. His eyes began to water with fear and his body started to tremble. "i don't like this, i don't like this , i don't like this" he kept mumbling as if in trance. His gaze never left the flame as he stepped back and eventually ran towards Professor Williamson to hide behind him.

If he had to choose between a bowtruckle and a Skrewt...the answer was simple to him.

What on earth was happening!?

Evelyn stared as a skrewt appeared out of nowhere. She took a couple of steps back and started to panic when the creature suddenly shot a flame up in the air.

This class was totally going out of control. She took a few more steps back; her eyes still on the skrewt. Hopefully, Willy would deal with the situation.

As Alex waited for the professor to confirm that he was ok, he suddenly felt a rush of HOT AIR behind him...he jumped about a foot in the air and turned, only to find himself face to face with a Blast Ended Skrewt who'd apparently just shot a trail of fire into the air. EEP! If Alex still had his long hair...he'd been in AWFUL trouble right now!

Stumbling a few feet back, he gripped his wand and assumed the stance that the professor had been doing before he got attacked by the little stick-man he was currently dealing with. Ok, calm. He had to remain calm. They'd JUST discussed this--although Williamson had never gotten far enough to go into detail about WHAT to do in this situation. Gulp.

Not wanting to cast a spell and startle the creature, he took a deep breath before saying very quietly. "It's ok, Mr. Skrewt...no one here wants to hurt you, honest," he said. Now he just hoped that no one lost their minds and tried to hurt the poor thing. It was probably just scared...right?

Sophie was still frowning at the weird thing that was on Professor Williamson's hand when a huge flame was shot a few feet away from her. "AAAHHH!!" She jumped and backed away to make more room between her and the... thing. "What is this thing??" She asked to no one in particular, still staring at the creature with wide eyes.

Grasping wildly toward what seems to be a person-blob holding a small black blur - his glasses! - he felt the plastic against his fingers and grabbed. Setting them back on his face, he felt his cheeks burning as he looked up.

"Yeah, I'm fine," he said, still on the ground. Looking up, however, he caught sight of the blast-ended skrewt and shrieked.

"What in the name of Merlin's purple silk pajamas is going on!?" He scrambled to his feet and hugged his bag to his chest, his pulse pounding in his ears.

As Amelia was waiting for the Professor to say if he was alright or not there was a burst of flame. She jumped into the air before looking around to see what caused it.

She immediately regretted looking. D: "Professor, there's a SKREWT!" She shuddered and moved further away from it in case it decided to blast more flames.

Professor Williamson would protect them, right?

Emrys looked at the girl dumbstruck. "W-w-well, CLEARLY," he sputtered, backing away from the girl and the skrewt slowly. Perspiration beaded on his forehead - whether from the heat of the blasts or his nerves he wasn't sure - and his palms were clammy.

He looked around frantically. Was there enough of a distraction for him to make a beeline for the castle? The professor didn't even have a wand, for Merlin's sake!

Hearing MORE screaming and flailing behind her as she attempted to catch the bowtruckle'S attention with the wood lice she was levitating, Kurumi's head snapped around and her eyes confirmed what everyone else was shouting. Yes, there was a blast-ended skrewt in the classroom. At least it wasn't that blast-faced beetle or whatever it was that she had found at the beginning of the term with Jonathan.

That thing was frightening.

"Uuuuuum..." she murmured as she continued to flick her wand up and down to make the lice seem more tantalizing. She wasn't going to be able to really do anything about the skrewt seeing as she was already preoccupied. "Uuuuum...didn't Professor Williamson JUST say not to panic?" Because that is what everyone was doing. It was a wonder that the poor creature hadn't gone and done something drastic with all the shouting.

Kurumi's attention was back on the levitating lice now. Come on little creature attempting to bite off the professor's hand...

Nerida was in awww, two animals in one lesson! That was awesome! First the bowtruckle, who bit the Professor and now a blast ended skrewt. She was a bit scared when she first saw the bowtruckle. But with the Skrewt she was just facinated and amzed. She had never seen one before. The automatic resoponse to a creature raising its pinchers or something like that would be to scoot back, but Nerida didnt do that.Looking around at the paniced students she said Calm down, if you guys scare it, it might react violently!

'What the blazes is going on? Now we have a Blast-End Skrewt too?? Are we going to have a Hippogriff, a Thestral and a Acromantula as well?' Alyssa thought to herself. Seeing the flaming creature and some of the students panicking, Alyssa did exactly what the Professor had told them to do. Not run, assess the situation and wait to see what the creature's intentions were. So she stood still in a defensive position, even though she so badly wanted to see whether Williamson was alright, and wand in hand in the ready position, she kept a watchful eye on the Skrewt.

It was just as William was about to ask his next question that he noticed something scurrying across the grass. He didn't think much of it, though, and just assumed that it was a harmless field mouse or something. So, time to move on!

She smiled in response, feet twitching this way and that out crossed in front of her. The prefect wasn't one to panic in general, especially around animals. Though she did have her moments. Listening to the responses, and waiting for the next question, she didn't even pay much attention to the creature scurrying through the grass until it was in WWW's hand, and BITING him.

That was going to bruise.

Her wand was drawn and she rose to her feet in one fuild motion, wincing internally at the bite, but most importantly not freaking out like a lot of other students seemed to be doing.

How was it they already forgot the key points they were just discussing?

"Guys we really shouldn't panic it's..."

Well. Now it was, what with a blast-ended skrewt shooting fire everywhere. Part of her wanted to sigh at all the panicking, another part was a bit to fascinated and curious to do so. Now that Amelia was a safe distance away from the Skrewt and its flame shooting capabilities, she was fine. Brief moment of panic brought on by the fact that she didn't like fire much.

She started to study the creature. "It sure is interesting in appearance." Surely not pretty by any stretch of the imagination. Surely it wouldn't try to attack any of the students?

He was definitely out of his mind, but he had to agree with this Hufflepuff prefect. Even if she was a Hufflepuff. At least she had some senses. "Y-Yea... You might p-provoke it," he stuttered, backing off a few steps behind the prefect. Hades hesitated whether to jinx the skrewt or not. This was a lesson after all, so he was sure that they were safe as long as Williamson was around. Or at least some elder students, like this prefect for example.

Just to be safe, Hades raised his wand, but kept it low. At the same time, he tried to figure out what was the Ministry Classification for this creature.

Max wasn't scared of magical creatures; quite the contrary, he loved them.

But a blast-ended skrewt appearing out of nowhere and shooting fire around his classmates? He wasn't wild about that situation.

"Shhhh. Don't give it any reason to make you a target. It's probably better not to move, if you can help it." Unless it came near them. Though, despite what he was saying, he was slowly creeping toward Ellie as he spoke, wanting to make sure she would be okay. He knew she could hold her own just fine. He did. She was tough. But he just needed to be sure. He needed to be with her.

He shot a look at Williamson and his bowtruckle friend - was this a hands-on simulation where he prepped them to get a plan in their minds, then let them go free to make their own decisions? Was a blast-ended skrewt supposed to just turn up as if on cue? Though he was baffled about Williamson's intentions, Max tightened his grip on his wand as he reached Ellie's side, observing the skrewt with caution and sizing it up. They could totally take it down - no, of course that was a silly thought. They wouldn't need to do that. Not for a class... right?

Jory's instinct screamed "Run!'' but he resisted it and tried to stay still as the Skrewt shot flames in the air. Some of the younger students were panicking and the Hufflepuff prefect was trying to make them see some sense.

Jory gripped his wand tighter and pointed it in the direction of the creature. Just in case...

"Yes, good." William nodded. "You should NEVER just flat-out RUN from an approaching dangerous creature, UNLESS you're in a situation where you can see it from a distance, but it can't see you, so you still have time to make a safe getaway."

"I'm glad to hear that you don't panic around any sort of creature, Arya." Perfect. She could be his first volunteer for today's lesson, then. Heh. "Keep your head down and your attention to yourself, yes, good."

"Neither," William winked at the poor, nervous Puff. Hehehehe.

"Right, but I asked what you personally would do.... so would you fight or take flight?" He cocked an eyebrow at the boy.

"YES! Good!" William might have been just a little too enthusiastic in his response to that answer. "Do not attack unless a creature attacks you first. Write that down, everyone!"

"Daichi?" William swiveled his head toward the boy when a sound like a whimper came out of his mouth. "You all right there, bud?" If he could read minds, he would definitely say something was frightening the boy....already...

Aww, what a noble puff. "Yes, great point. Let's not give the creatures a REASON to attack by angering them, right guys?"

"Perfectly said!" William smiled at the Hufflepuff's concise answer.

"Also well said," he nodded the next Puff. Short and succinct answers were always welcome in his classroom. Ahem.

Smiling to himself as the boy's mustache started to peel away from his face, Willy tilted his head at his answer. "Sureeeee......... you're welcome to always TRY that approach, but let's be honest here, Mr. Mustachio.... that's highly unlikely to work. Good luck though."

He wouldn't be responsible if the kid got his eyebrows singed off in the process of 'befriending' a skrewt anyway.

'We stand still?' William chuckled at that answer to himself but did nod anyway. "Yes, try that first to see if the creature just passes by you without doing anything." It couldn't hurt to give peace a chance, could it?

"Perfect way to put it, Mr. Greingoth!" William beamed over at the Hufflepuff. "You'd be surprised how many people forget that they OWN a BRAIN."

Like this one. "Er.... Laura," poor child, "I don't think the Muggle poolicemen are going to be of much help to you in this situation." He shook his head. "But huh, if you're considering a career in Magical Law Enforcement... well you sure do have the Auror-suspicious-thinking-style down pat...."

"That would be a good idea," he smirked at the way she acknowledged her sibling, "and it depends on how far away the Nundu IS, because you know, they are pretty quick creatures." Just sayin'.

It was just as William was about to ask his next question that he noticed something scurrying across the grass. He didn't think much of it, though, and just assumed that it was a harmless field mouse or something. So, time to move on!

"Okay, so you see the skrewt, and you THINK it sees you, so you whip out your wand and stand up in a defensive position." William jumped into place and flicked his wand holster on his left arm, which was where his wand ALWAYS was.

Only today... the wand wasn't there. "Huh," the man murmured to himself. "I could have SWORN I remembered to put that there this morning....."

No matter, he could carry on anyway. "Uh yeah, uhhhh, you all should stand up and do this with me." The professor nodded to himself and quickly snatched (what he thought was) a twig up off the ground, transferring it to his left hand, his wand hand. "So you're standing there, you've got your wand in your hand, you're facing the skrewt but remaining MOSTLY still, and NOW what do you do?"

The Bowtruckle felt eyes peering down at it. Perhaps it had scuttled a bit too fast through the blades of grass.... But the children wouldn't know what it was they were looking at.

Because he hopefully wasn't going to let them have a good look at it. No. He just wanted to lash itself onto that large tree in the distance.

...

Except fate got in the way, as the Bowtruckle felt itself being snatched into the air, it wriggled to get free and finally sunk its teeth into some juicy flesh. Take that, evil human.

Vickers was taking down notes like the diligent Ravenclaw that he was, watching the Professor demonstrate the proper way to defend themselves... with a Bowtruckle.

Eh what?

He was usually the first to point out if something was amiss that the other person may not be aware of, but this time the boy was entranced with the sight of the Professor wielding a creature like a wand. He always wondered what would happen in situations like this, a once in a lifetime opportunity as it were. Would the bowtruckle get sick and make a mess? Or would its defensive nature kick in and....

Yup defensive nature kicked in right there. The Ravenclaw winced. Unless the Professor had skin of a crocodile, thats gotta hurt and scar badly if the creature got that bite in deep enough. Of course he's not entirely ruling out the crocodile option.

Something flashing at the corner of his vision got him to peel his eyes off the Professor and for a few seconds just STARED at what has got to be the ugliest creature he's ever set eyes on. Not that he would say that out loud.

Fire. Cant make heads or tails of the creature. Got to be the blast ended skrewt right?

And naturally the students started to panic. He got his wand at the ready, not just for the creatures but more so for any disaster that could come out of panicking people, which from his observations is most often the case. Is the Professor aware of this? His eyes slide between the Professor and the Skrewt. "Fire in the hole..." like literally.

Laura had been thinking about things when suddenly she saw a Blast-Ended Skrewt. "Professor, I think someone doesn't want you to finish this lesson." Laura sighed, seriously though this was interesting. "Professor do you have an enemies?" That would be one way to explain how come there was now two magical creatures in the class.

Laura looked at the Blast-Ended Skrewt and smiled at the Professor. "He's cute you know." Laura would love to interview this creature first, it was even cuter than the bowtruckle. "Professor can I see if the Blast-Ended Skrewt talks?" that would make thing easier.

He looked around frantically. Was there enough of a distraction for him to make a beeline for the castle? The professor didn't even have a wand, for Merlin's sake!

Right. Evelyn folded her arms and stood, waiting for the panic to subside a little, when she heard the boy say something..she couldn't hear what he said since a LOT of people seemed to be talking around her..and he started to back away. He looked really scared. Jeez. More scared than the younger ones in the class. "Erm. Relax, okay? I'm sure Willy will do something."

William genuinely thought he had picked up a stick.... that was, until the stick started biting him. "ACK!" the man couldn't help but cry out in shock at the sensation of tiny, piercing little fangs digging into his hand. His eyes doubled in size at the sight of the bowtruckle in his hand, and he let go of it immediately, hoping the thing would drop off if he weren't holding on to it.

Unfortunately, it seemed that the bowtruckle was the one holding on to him. "Holy Mother of Merlin....." Willy swore, along with a few other choice phrases under his breath. He started shaking his left hand rapidly, then, hoping that he could free his hand of the creature by flinging it off.

However, it seemed that Willy wasn't going to be able to just shake off the bowtruckle. The thing's fangs were deep into his hand and he was really starting to feel a tingling sensation all throughout his arm.

Fortunately for him, though, one of the Prefects kept a calm, level head and used her knowledge of bowtruckles to come to his rescue. William breathed a sigh of relief as a few of the woodlice came floating their way, and he flapped his wrist one last time to shake the bowtruckle in their direction.

It seemed that the creature took the bait, luckily, and willingly let go of his hand at last. THANK MERLIN! William shot a grateful grin over at Kurumi and quickly wrapped his bleeding hand up in the bottom of his shirt, just now realizing that his class had erupted into nothing short of pure pandemonium.

Wonderful. Bowtruckles, blast-ended skrewts, and who knew what was next... oh my!

"ALL RIGHT, everyone, you all need to just CALM DOWN," the professor shouted loudly, noting who was panicking, who was hiding (Daichi???) and who was trying to lead the others into a more tranquil state.

"It's just a blast-ended skrewt. They aren't THAT horrible, although any spell you throw at them will bounce off its thick, armor-like shell." He took a breath and gestured for the class to get behind him. "So what we have to do is figure out a way to either lure it away from class," by finding something it would want to eat, "or else stun it by getting to its underbelly."

Right. Think time. "Get behind me, guys," Williamson remembered to add, again motioning the class toward him with his wrapped-up hand. "Prefects to the front. If anybody has candy on them, toss it away toward the forest to distract the skrewt. Do NOT make any sudden movements or cast any spells."

Blast-ended what? Selena didn't like this. She quickly stuffed her pygmy puff into her bag - sorry Kent, it was really that or get eaten - and gulped. Selena didn't like this blasted-ended thingy with a "thick, armor-like shell". Because it meant it was strong. And hard to get rid of. So naturally, when the professor told them to get behind him, Selena did as he said because she didn't want to be EATEN. Neither did Kent. So it made a lot of sense.

Till he told the prefects to go to the front. Heh. Sorry prefects you were all going to be eaten fir- WAIT. Selena was a prefect. :whaa:

Her eyes went WIDE at the thought of going up "front". Could she hide behind some other prefect? That way she wasn't eaten? A chocolate bar would be nice right about now. Yeah, maybe she could eat it... if the professor didn't tell them to TOSS THEIR CANDY AWAY. Chocolate wasn't candy... right? So she could just leave her chocolate in her bag. Yup. Totally made sense. Selena rummaged around in her bag, pushing Kent slightly aside. She had taken out her textbook so she would have more room for CANDY but now she was going to have to lose all of it. This wasn't fair. The professor was going to give people who gave away their candy the same amount back right?

Selena found her box of Bertie Bott's and tossed it towards the forest. And along with that went her blood pops. And sugar quills. And gummy bears. And skittles. And canary creams. And exploding bon-bons. And the ice mice. And the licorice wands. And her lemon drops. She was like... CANDY-LESS! That was horrible. The professor was EVIL.

"Bye bye candy... I will miss you," Selena said, wiggling her fingers at the candy she had tossed away. All except her chocolate of course. Because she was NOT parting with all of her chocolate.

TakemetotheBurrow 03-17-2012 01:17 AM

Ella side-stepped slowly towards Williamson, her eyes fixated on the skrewt. She could not believe she had to face this thing again. And Professor Williamson was saying they weren't that horrible?! Well one had tackled her to the ground along with a professor and another student. That seemed pretty horrible to Ella.

Once she was safely behind the Professor, Ella waited for the scene to unfold, wondering how they were going to get the skrewt to leave them alone. She held her wand tightly in her hand, looking ahead nervously.

magikewe 03-17-2012 01:20 AM

Lily stood in almost a shock like state. Who knew an animal, even a magical animal, could produce a campfire without any fuel... or at least that's what it looked like to the first year. As the professor began directing the class, Lily reached down and grabbed her bag slowly before moving behind the professor... way behind the professor. The claw wasn't afraid of fire, but she did the typical muggleborn first year thing and didn't want to be anywhere near the campfire-producing, armadillo-like creature. So she moved as far away from it as she could while still being part of the class group. This didn't happen everyday, that Lily knew for sure...

Lady of Light 03-17-2012 01:22 AM

Right. Calm Down. Not that was Evelyn was panicking or anything. Well, she was actually. Because Willy didn't have a freaking wand! :whaa:

No sudden movements. Right. She started to walk forward very slowly, her eyes on the creature. Ugh. Why? Why did she take this class? She should have picked astronomy instead. Well, it was too late now. Sigh.

After what seemed like hours, she stood behind Willy, wondering how he was going to deal with the situation. Honestly, how can a professor forget his wand!? Crazy.
