Blink blink. Nate was under the water. He could actually breath. He shivered a bit since it was a bit cold. He saw where all the other students were going, so he had to follow them. He didn't want to lose the group after all. Still Nate was stareing in amazement because he was able to breath underwater!

Ella's eyes tried to adjust to her new environment. She was now underwater and it was absolutely freezing down here! She hadn't died or passed out though, which was a major accomplishment. She couldn't help but look around quickly in each direction, feeling as though the grindylows were just lying in wait. She found where the professors were swimming and hurried over to them. Not wanted to get lost in this new murky world.

Honestly, there had been NO reason for the Professor to yell at him and two other classmates when they half openly confessed they couldn't swim. It wasn't because he was afraid he couldn't swim but he was literally SCARED of the water!

Daichi eyed the gillyweed in his hand suspiciously. He looked up to see a couple of students already jumping in to the lake and he felt a cold sweat break out. Not wanting to loose points , the Slytherin mustered all his courage (which was not alot right now) and he ate the gillyweed.

A few seconds passed as he wondered what would happen. Then he felt like he was going to suffocate. The third years eyes widened as his mouth opened and closed , desperately trying to get some air. He didn't know why, but his instinct told him to jump in the water. He jumped and since the transformation wasn't complete yet he started to panic. He was going to die! he was going to d- ....He went under the surface and....

He could breath?

Blinking in confusion, he looked at his now webbed hands and felt his neck. He..he was alive! Strange though... Turning around, he saw the group of students and swam towards them.

O____O AND HE COULD SWIM TOO?! WHAT WAS THIS MAGIC?!

A small splash was created as Sierra's tiny body made contact with the water. She pushed her arms and legs through the water, swimming along so as to catch up with Scabbers and WWW. Swimming under the effects of gillyweed, no matter how many times she'd done it, was always a strange experience for her. It was weird to be able to do everything faster and better than she normally could.

The water was freezing, though, and the look on her face showed she was less than amused about that. As she swam further in, though, she started to adapt to the temperature. Thank Merlin, too. The last thing she needed was another reason to be annoyed at Scabbers and WWW. Pretty soon, she'd nearly caught up to both, so she paused and just floated in the water while she waited for something to happen.

Messer dive in the water after he could feel the effect of gillyweed kick in. The first thing he could feel that how cold the water. He shivered a bit but he step aside that feeling because he was now can breath underwater. That was pretty awesome!

The young badger saw the Professors and some of the students already ahead him so he swam toward them. He didn't want to be left behind.

Hannah still could not believe that she was actually going into the lake. She didn't think this sort of thing happened. Oh well she dived into the lake and started swimming towards the professor and other students. The lake was freezing of course, but she had to admit it was pretty cool being able to swim like that.

Laura had gone into the water with a splash and then she was shivering, the water was very cold, why couldn't they stay on land seriously why couldn't the fishes come and fight them on land, surely the Professor should have just caught a couple of the animal he wanted them to fight and then they wouldn't have to look so ugly in the suit the Professor had provided.

Quentin waded into the water till it reached her knees, then she quickly swallowed the gillyweed and with a splash she was fully submerged. It was a tiny bit cold but her body was quickly adjusting, swimming was even easier than normal with gillyweed. She spotted a group of students and the professors ahead and was soon caught up to them, her wand was in her wrist holster, ready for action.

She had always loved swimming and was quite good at it, so unlike the other students going into the lake didn't bother her at all- in fact since it had been mentioned she had been anticipating it.

With clattering teeth Nessie swam deeper into the lake. It was really cold, infact it was freezing. EVen though this whole expedition was supposed to be exciting, Ness wasn't exactly enjoying herself not in the cold at least. Also the Gillyweeds trandformation felt rather weird and she could feel her throat, hands and feet changing. When she looked at her feet and hands she saw that they were all webbed it was kind of un appealing to look it and so she turned her attention back to following the Professors.

After getting used to the cold of the water, the swiming was pleasant besides for swimsuits of course. She doubted there would be many Grindylows but just incase she kept her wand in hand, so she was ready. And off she went swiming with class.

Salima had her eyes shut tight considering how freezing it was in the lake but then opened her eyes a few seconds later to see the most beautiful thing she had ever seen-
'WEBBED HANDS AND FEET!' She yelled although sounding as if she were speaking in a bubble 'AND I CAN SWIM TOO!' Salima, gripping tightly on to her wand, swam around in a circle for a few moments before following the rest of the class further into the lake.

Pam stood on the shore of the lake, letting her feet get used to the water. Which was hard, seeing as it was really cold. But she started bouncing up and down to get things warm again. She took the gillyweed, and after a little bit, found it hard to breath. So she ran into the water, and was relieved to find she was not only able to breath, but she could swim too. She began swimming towards the class, and after the professors.

Selina wiggled her toes in the swim suit that her Professor's had provided and prepared to jump in the lake. Everytime she took a step forward to jump in the lake she backed away and shook out her hands. It was going to be cold, she could just feel it. It was better for her to just suck it up and take the plunge. But everytime she stepped forward she could not find the courage to actually jump. Finally she bit down on her bottom lip and just jumped in the water.

OH MERLIN THAT WAS COLD.

It took a moment of her trying to readjust to the new temperature before she took a deep breath and continued on to follow her Professors.

Out of the mysterious depths of the lake came a small, horned water demon. It hovered out of wand range of the group of humans but remained within sight as it leered at them and bared its sharp, green teeth.

The demon wiggled its long fingers at a few of the girls and continued floating just out of range, intent on watching the humans.

Nate goes "Professor is that a gryndilow over there?" Nate asked while eyeing the freaky horned demon. He was getting freaked out about that thing. If it was in range he'd be casting so many spells at that thing. It just kept eyeing them which freaked him out. He really needed to do something about that. Or it just might attack them, and that would be bad. Nate didn't want to go to the infermary.

Eino's dive had been rather sloppy, and on shallow water, which caused his to hit his head. He rubbed the aching spot and looked at his hand to see if there was any blood but none was found. After a few minutes, the pain was completely gone. As Eino progressed deeper into the lake, he could feel the water grow significantly colder, though at the same time his body began to adapt to the new low temperature. His new webbed feet and hands made swimming much easier, which would be handy in case of an attack. Breathing felt... strange. It wasn't the same as breathing on land, and he could feel his gills moving whenever he inhaled and exhale, though it was nothing that he wouldn't get used to.

The lake was not only getting colder, but also darker. It was dark close to the surface, but the further they progressed downward the harder it became to see. When Eino reached a small group of students, he noticed their attention was on something else. He looked towards the same direction and saw a small creature, a thing, or maybe just plants moving about. With no interest in investing time in the unknown, Eino continued to follow the professors.

Oakey managed to catch up to the professors and the other students. But as he caught up he noticed something weird in the distance. He gripped his wand and kept it ready just in case the creature decided to close it's distance between the group and itself. He wouldn't cast the newly learned spell unless he was instructed to or if he had no other choice.

Oakey looked around to see if anybody else caught sight of the creature.

Nessie stood there mentally preparing herself for the temperature. After a few minutes of debating with herself she decided to just hop in. She squealed loudly as her body hit the water. She persisted and went further down into the lake. Miraculously breathing perfectly. She pulled out her wand and held it tightly to the side. She swam down and gathered next to the professors and her classmates. She looked around in the water with an amazed look on her face.

Laura had this strange feeling that there was something watching her, but well nothing could be right the Professor knew what he was doing and so she decided to stay close to the Professors hoping that she was right, well she would find out soon enough but there was something in her head that said she was being watch but well she wasn't going to tell the Professor what she thought.

She keep swimming to the others. She finally caught upp and looked away from the strange demon.

As Alex watched the rest of the class gather around them, he noticed something out of the corner of his eye. He slowly turned his head and saw a Grindylow floating some ways away, staring at all of them like he wanted to bite each and every one of their heads off. EEEP! A REAL GRINDYLOW! Alex's heart started to race and he quickly looked away. The last thing he wanted to do was get in a staring contest with the Grindylow and make it attack them or something.

Trying to look as cool and calm as possible, he slowly swam further away from the demon and sort of...hid behind Sierra. In a totally cool, inconspicuous way he hoped. Because as much as he didn't want to admit it, if that thing attacked...she'd be a lot tougher in the battle than he would, that was for sure.

Justin was in the water following the professors as fast as he could swim with his wand at the ready. Grindylows were cunning and Justin's senses were on high alert.

Kennedy was still fascinated by the underwater view and his webbed hands. Suddenly, the hair at the back of his neck stood on ends. That was strange. He looked around, but not really focusing on anything that wasn't moving.

Why did he have the strange sensation that someone OR something was staring at them? Hmm. He really hoped it was Mr. Henry, but just in case, Kennedy held on to his wand. It never hurt to be prepared.

Zhenya was in the water, and noticed it was cold. But the cold water didn't really bother her, as she grew up in Russia where she swam in almost freezing waters. It was on the cold side, but still somewhat refreshing. She was following within the group of all the other students, and noticed how incredibly easy it was to swim and breathe. It wasn't scary, even.

She was a little frightened of the creatures within the lake, but tried to brush it off.

Wow, this is awesome. If only I had a camera. Lily thought to herself as she swam trying to keep up with the professors. Yes it seemed chilly but the view was priceless. With her wand ready, her mind going crazy, and her eyes absorbing everything going on, Lily was really enjoying this. As she swam she looked at her hands and feet that were now webbed and thought How cool it must be to be swimming like a fish in the Hogwarts Lake. Swimming along, she caught up with her fellow classmates and professors easily.

Minerva saw something that made her turn and let out a faint shocked whimper. It was weird looking and had green teeth. She kept watch of it as they swam afraid of it coming to close. She tried to stay close to the group, keep kept turning and watching the creature as well.
