Ohh, they were able to do it in front of class? All to help the younger students of course. Ellie kind of wanted to do it. There was no better way to learn than to teach it yourself.

So, Ellie got up in front of the class and pointed her wand to her hand. With a twist and a tap, Ellie said, "Prehenso," and her hand suddenly felt very tingly. It was an odd sensation, like her hand was asleep or something. Ellie wiggled a little. It was weird.

"Finite!" And suddenly all the tinglies had vanished. Ellie wiggled her fingers and gave a satisfied smile. Not too shabby, if she said so herself. "And that's how it's done." She said quietly, yet confidently and walked back to her desk.

Her spell, probably pure look but she was quite happy with herself for getting it on the first time.. she smiled! Anyways returning to her task now, she pulled the crumpled up note in her pocket and smoothed it out...

2. Put your wand down and touch your desk with both hands and compare the different feeling between the gripping charm and how your hand usually feels on contact with the wood. take note of the tingling sensation!

Simple enough right?

She put down the wand on the table carefully, then she put her wand hand on the table it felt.. normel she didn't know how to explain the human touch against a block of wood... It felt normel was all she could ever blurt out! She put her other hand on the table it felt tickley and tingley she would laugh, but her tooth was almost murdering her lip to stop herself laughing.. She pulled out her charms notebook and scribbled down her own notes

Aurora watched closely as a seventh year performed the spell. They always made it look so... easy. She was dreading trying this out... everyone else seemed to get it. She mimicked the Ravenclaw's wand movement, as she watched. Twist and tap. Right, she'd practiced that before... okay.

Deep breath.

Ellie walked back to her desk and pulled her wand back out. She didn't particularly like that tingly feeling, but she knew she had to do it again. So again she did it.

"Prehenso!" And there it was. Tingles in her hand. Guh. It was weird. At least she knew she was doing it right. Now, it was time to test it out.

Ellie put her wand away and put both of her hands on the wooden table. She slid both of them down with the same force. Well, she tried to anyway. Her left hand had much more friction than her right hand now and it was putting up a fight.

Thudthudthudthudthud..thud. That was the noise her hand was making as it half slid, have jumped down the table. Ellie pursed her lips. "I guess that means it works," she mumbled and picked up her quill to jot down some notes.

Jordan observed the other students, particularly the older ones to see what they were doing. Hmm... It seemed easy enough, but he was kind of dreading the spell itself. What if it went wrong?

He went back to his desk, wand in hand. Sitting down he remembered what he had to do... Twist and Tap! he waved his wand on his hand. "Prehenso!" No tingling feeling yet...

Now that his hand was supposedly charmed, Nate set down his wand to compare the grip of each of his hands. Wrapping his fingers around each side of the desk and taking a loose hold, Nate tried to slide his hands back towards him. His uncharmed right hand slid with little effort, but his left hand tingled and was much harder to pull. The tingling sensation was so impressive to Nate that he proceeded to spend the next few minutes repeating the pull test, almost forgetting he had to counter the charm on his left hand.

Ooh! Ooh! Tingling! Jordan grinned to himself, ramming his hands onto the tabletop and attempting to slide them along. His right -uncharmed- hand slid with little effort unlike the left one which gripped itself defiantly on the table putting up an excellent fight. He laughed slightly, but fun time was over now so he now picked up his wand and aimed it to fire a finite at the left hand...

By the time his left palm was threatening to go raw, Nate knew that charms fun time was over for now. Lifting up his hands, palm up, he first compared how red each hand was. Yup, that's going to sting. he thought as he picked up his wand. "Finite," he cast quickly, already with prior knowledge of the spell from his duels with Jez in the Room of Requirement. Finite was definitely a useful spell concerning survival in a duel...

After a few seconds, the tingling left his left hand entirely, and one more slide test confirmed that the gripping charm was gone. His hands still burned, though, and Ravenclaw couldn't afford to lose any more points.

Jordan raised his wand, "Finite!" he cast at the left hand. Nope, nothing happened. That was thoroughly annoying. "Finite! Finte! Finite! Finite!" he chanted, annoyance in his voice. Oh come on!

He slowed his breathing, and raised his wand once more to cast, if this one did not work he didn't know what he would do. "Finite!" he said slowly, and suddenly but slowly, he felt the tingling sensation slowly disappear! Yes! He slid his hands over the desk just to be sure, woop! He'd done it!

"Prehenso."

Her wrist twisted, and she tapped her hand lightly. Arya had been messing around with the strength of the spell now that she was able to cast it profesently, testing the tingling sensation and her grip on numerous items from her person. But now it was time for a different test, yeah?

The prefect countered the spell once more, then preformed the wand movements once more. Twist and tap. Prehenso. She cast non-verbally on her hand, and immediately took to noting the difference in the sensation against her hand from being cast verbally. Running it along the desk, she nibbled on her bottom lip and mulled over her casting. Hm.

She countered silently and went at it again.

TAylor nodded, "Yeah that does throw off the charm. She smiled and was about to say that she hoped the girl would get it when the girl got it, "Good job." TAylor went back to practicing the charm and finite

Victoria first watched the other students charm their hands first before proceeding on with her own hands. She felt weird doing this to her own hands. What if she messed it up and can no longer turn it back to her normal hand?

Trying not to get nervous with this experiment, Victoria took out her wand which she laid in her right hand, and pointed it to her left hand, which she will be doing the charm on. "Prehenso." Victoria twisted and tapped on her left hand while saying this incantation, just like what the directions had said. She then laid her wand on the desk, then simply put both of her hands on the desk to feel the difference and charm of what she just did.

Hmmm…

Violet observed all the older students doing the new charm. It seemed to look so easy for them, but then again, they've had enough experience to know all these charms by heart now. As she watched, charms looked a lot more interesting then before and she couldn't wait go get started.

Well now that Ellie knew that the charm worked and that she could perform it correctly, she was done. She didn't really like the feeling of a tingly, grippy hand. Though it might come in handy if she ever wanted to slap someone.

Pulling her wand back out, Ellie cast, "Finite," on her hand and all the tinglies faded away. She wiggled her fingers. That felt much better. Ellie slid both of her hands on the table and they felt the same. Good. She wrote that down in her notebook and then sat patiently, observing others while she waited for further instruction.

Nessie took note on how the other students did the charm and scribbed down a few things. After they had demonstrated picked up her wand with one hand and held her free hand up. She pointed her wand at her hand (Which she admits gave her a nervous feeling) and casted the charm. 'Twist and tap.' "Prehenso!" She said.

Finite... It wasn't that LuLu couldn't do it just if she got the last spell right, she sincerly doubted she'd get this one right first time round anyways.. She picked her wand up off the table and held it firmly in her hand "Finite" nothing happened "Finite," again nothing.. "FINITE," seemed to have worked? She put down her wand and felt her other hand.. atleast it was over

Selena felt the wood on the table with her hand, after she put down her wand. The two... did feel different. It was tingly, a little... odd. Was this what it was like to cast charms on oneself? Selena picked up her quill and scribbled down just how odd this feeling was. Maybe this was what aliens felt when they landed on Earth. It was very much probable. Selena continued to take notes, enjoying the little tingling feeling that came with the charm.

With his hand feeling weird now, He brushed it across the desk...yeah it felt rough and bumpy. Now to cast Finite as the older students had demonstrated so as to ge this hand back to normal.

Nessie felt a tingling sensation in her hand. She moved her hand in front of her face inspecting it as if it had changed. She had expected it to turn purple with her luck. Following the professor's instructions she rubbed her hand across the desk feeling it's coarse texture. It wasn't unpleasant but it was . . . different.

After watching another student demonstrate the finite spell, Silvia turned her wand back towards her tingling hand and said "Finite." The tingling didn't completely go away the first time, although it had lessened somewhat. "Finite," she tried again, and this time it seemed to work. She paused to make a note on the finite spell in her notes, then continued to practice the gripping charm. She wanted to get it right at least several times in a row before they went to practice it outside.

After watching the demonstration, Violet thought it was time to do the charm. She waved her wand, muttering twist and tap until she was confident in doing the actual spell, Prehenso. "Okay, you can do this." Violet muttered to herself.

She pointed at her left hand, since she was holding the wand with her right, twist and and tapped while commanding. "Prehenso!" She waited a few seconds to see if the spell worked.

Selena sighed. She had to unstick her hand now. She had used finite before, so it shouldn't be too difficult - it hadn't been in her second year. Selena took her wand, switching it with the quill. "Finite," Selena said clearly, as she tried to move her hand. Wait. What?! WHY WAS IT STUCK?! It wasn't supposed to be stuck. Selena cleared her throat, and sighed, "Finite!" she said firmly, as she moved her hand and bam! It slid, knocked her notebook off of the table and a white envelope fell out of her book as well.

Selena picked up the envelope before remembering something. "PROFESSOR!!!" Selena called out loud, waving her hand in the air, she had a very important message to pass on to the professor, after all. "I have something for you!" she added. Just in case the professor didn't get it.

In her waving hand was also the envelope that contained the message. Which Selena had not been allowed to look at. Maybe the professor could tell her what was inside of the envelope... hehe...

Nessie picked up her wand again after she had her fun with the texture change. She watched a older student do it before she had the nerve to try it herself. She pointed her wand back at her hand. "Finite." She said. Her hand slowly started feeling normal again. The tingling faded out of her finger tips until it had gotten to the palm of her hand where it disappeared completely. She flexed her hand making sure that everything was still in working order.

After observing people casting prehenso and finite Aurora took up her wand. Right... here goes...

Aurora pointed her wand at her left hand. Twist, tap, "Prehenso..."
...
Nothing... no different.

Twist, tap, "Prehenso."
...
still nothing.

Twist, tap, "Prehenso!"

Eurgh... this was infuriating!

Come on, Aurora... deep breath. She inhaled deeply and blew it out slowly, then she pointed her wand at her left hand again. Twist. Tap. "Prehenso."

OH! Tingly!!!!!!!!!!! Weird... Aurora ran her hand over her desk... oh... weird! It was... rougher than usual.

Ew. She didn't like it. Not one bit.

Putting down his wand back on his desk, Gideon was ready to test the difference between his charmed hand and his normal hand. With his wand hand now free, he rested it above the wooden surface for a few moments to be reminded what it would normally feel like. Then he moved his spelled hand in a position to mirror its brother a few inches away, each horizontal and parallel to the desk. Very soon the tingling had returned in his left hand just as it had in the previous test.

They certainly felt different...odd as well since the feeling in his charmed limb something he couldn't quite describe. The Gryffindor alternated moving each closer and further away from the desktop as if seeing if the distance changed the effect or nullified it. Task 2 was complete and it appeared to be a success once more.
