1. I have been getting a LOT of questions about why certain people are or are not allowed into the Sanctuary. To clear up some confusion, here is the list of people who are, at present, allowed into the Sanctuary to play with animals, take care of them, earn some bonus points, whatever. This list is accurate as of 1/7/2012 at 2:00 pm EST. I will update it as I continue to get sign-ups and as those who did sign-up finally get around to reading the rules.


2. The only reason "these people" are allowed into the Sanctuary and you are not is because they have a) read the rules here and b) signed up here. If you have done one but not both of these things, then no, your name is NOT going on the list until you do both.


3. Any further questions should be taken to me first via PM as I am in the post of CoMC professor and I do have my reasons for doing things. Thanks.

Care of Magical Creatures Homework II: The Pygmy Puff Diaries

Your task is to take care of the pygmy puff you have worked with today in class, whether it is your own personal puff or one belonging to the professor. Take the puff back to the castle with you and take good care of it for roughly the next week (ooc: until the next lesson). You will need to feed it; record what it eats and doesn't eat; groom it; bathe it (if needed); discover its gender; give it some exercise; entertain it; introduce it to other pygmy puffs; and of course observe all of these behaviors in detailed diary entries.

For full credit on this assignment, you will need to record five separate entries, spaced out and posted here, with each diary entry linking back to at least ONE RP post in the school. You have up until the start of the next Care of Magical Creatures class to complete this assignment.

This assignment will be worth up to 20 points.

1. Lesson Three will open on/around Monday, March 12 and will run approximately one week. Don't forget to bring your pygmy puff back to class!

2. Homework from CoMC Lesson Two will then be due Sunday, March 11th by midnight. You must have your five posts with your pygmy puff done and linked up in that thread by then!

3. The Barnyard is now open for those who were allowed to RP in the Sanctuary. Have fun, take care of the animals living in there for the winter, follow the rules, and take care of the animals. If you do, a few extra points might be in the stars for you.

For homework, you are to create a Public Service Announcement about how to handle a dangerous creature. A PSA can be anything from a video to a poster, as long as it informs the public about something they need to know. In this instance, you must create a PSA Poster.

Post your PSA Poster somewhere in the castle once you are finished. Before the final begins, submit a photo of your poster and a description of three spells you think would be useful against a dangerous creature. Be sure to include a rationale (explanation) for each spell you would choose to use.

OOC: Basically, you need to...

1. Make a PSA Poster.
2. RP your charrie hanging the poster up somewhere in the school.
3. Choose 3 spells you would use in conjunction with your PSA and write why those three.
4. PM me the link to the post along, your actual PSA, and your three spells blurb.
5. Due Date: 12:01 AM EST on April 1, 2012
6. Points Value: 15 points, with up to 5 bonus points for excellence.

The Care of Magical Creatures final will open on or around April 1, 2012 and will remain open [for RPing submissions] until April 4, 2012.
