There were no stars out tonight but that didn't matter. The simple vision of the clouds, discussion and warm fire were enough. "Hogwarts is amazing, isn't it?" Glenn sighed. Her curly hair had settled itself around her shoulders, a couple of twigs in her it from lying down on the ground.

She turned her head towards Zhenya and giggled at how she was upside down from her point of view from the ground, "Want a butterbeer or some sweets? I've got plenty left over from Hogsmeade." She asked, pulling her over-the-shoulder bag from herself and dumping it by Zhenya. "Take your pick!"

Zhenya kneeled down next to Glenn and rested her elbows on her knees. She snuggled up closer to the fire which was lovely against her skin.

"yep it certainly is!" she said to Glenn, before reaching into her bag and getting some chocolate. "thanks Glenn! How have you been? I ha net seen you around much," she said eating te chocolate.

"oh I hope there is ghost stories!!" she said.

samthehpfreak 02-22-2012 09:47 AM

Sammy was all for this. She was excited, more excited than she had been for the opening feast. No, she wasn't that excited. She had brought Moggy along with her as well but instead of making him walk along the ground she had him bundled in her arms to keep him warm until they got close enough to the "boofire" to keep him warm. He sat calmly enough, he was more than used to being carried around by Sammy, he played with one of the tassles dangling from her hat.

Speaking of the hat she was rather proud that she had found it. It looked a bit like the snazzy one Adam had shown her. It had taken most of the day, digging around in the dorms, she wasn't even completely sure whom it belonged to but she would put it back later. Maybe with some candies or something. As she got closer she started to realise how big the bonfire actually, 'twas huge. SHE LIKED IT. She started to wonder what would actually be going on, maybe it would be a late Halloween thing. That would be cool.

Yes, you should pay attention to what the Prefects say or do.

He arrived at the site to see their Quidditch Captain in a dress. "Hello Captain. You look... nice." Well she looked different. But he figured nice would hopefully be received better. And she was standing by the stage. This brought a smile to the Ravenclaw boy "Are you going to be presenting something Captain?" Maybe thats why she looked nice.

His eyes trailed next to the lad he remembered from the train to Hogwarts. Which is a good thing because thats the one clue that got him to remember what his name was "Hello Treyen." he greeted the Head Boy. Then his eyes shifted to another girl-- the Hufflepuff Girl Prefect, which he figured given her badge.

Then his attention was taken by that bonfire that wont be ignored. And the table full for campfire fare. A bonfire party. Well he wasnt much for parties, but he does find it enjoyable sitting around the bonfire and stargazing....

... if only there were stars to be enjoyed that night.

His name was said, which was what got him to look at whoever had called him. Oh, he knew the boy! Only he couldn't recall his name! He could blame Julien for this, after all, didn't the one Ravenclaw's last name was the same as the other's first name?

"Hey, Vincenzo." VICKERS, correct? He was playing it safe by saying Julien's last name. Also, a smile was given as he stepped away from the bonfire.

As she neared the bonfire, she delighted in the sudden warmth and took a seat on the ground near it, dragging a blanket around her and warming her freezing hands over the fire.

Glenn saw the head boy and smiled cheekily, "Oi Treyen-Mr-Head-boy!" She waved to get his attention, "Want a butterbeer?" She had a couple in her bag to share around, along with the sweets that she had not yet eaten as well.

That was the name that stuck. He was only glad it wasn't something bad.

Another smile was spared for Glenn as he kept on walking towards a wooden log near the corner of the stage. "Save me one for later." Not right now, he was busy with two marshmallows and...he didn't feel like drinking anything at the moment.

When she reached the place, the first thing young Sky did was walk over to the table of food and check for the marshmallows. There were none! What the… "There's no marshmallows?!" she exclaimed to anyone within hearing distance, her jaw dropping in shock. What were they supposed to roast over the fire?!

WE SAW YOU, JULIEN! And we frown upon you...not really, he could take the bowl for himself. There was more. Somewhere in the table. It was there. The elves will keep it well provided.

Since the table was close to where he sat..., "No, look there's more over there." Mmmhmm, he was seeing them, so, she was free to take a few of those, put them on a stick and roast them if she wished...or eat them as they were, like he did.

Okay, the Head Boy was free to sit on the log now, he was no longer missing the Head Girl he needed, but he won't sit just yet. He gave one final look around, you know, because they were close to the Forbidden Forest and no one wanted any surprises coming out of there, right? But...decided to started as he noticed everything was fine.

Except for the lack of stars in the sky. The black sky that was reserved for tonight, apparently.

Treyen was now looking at the students sitting in front of him as he stood by the corner of the stage, he wasn't in costume, no, he was silly and was wearing his school uniform, minus the robes, the bonfire was keeping him warm enough, "First, I'd like to welcome you to the grounds tonight." Yeah, they were all welcomed and whatnot. They were also free to stay close to the bonfire if they were extra cold, it won't get out of control. Promised.

"Second, I'm pretty sure some of you must have guessed that this isn't just a bonfire...," NO, this was a BOOfire, which was very different, "...there's a bonfire, yes, but we, the Prefects, will be telling you a story." THAT was the difference from Hogwarts' usual bonfires. Which weren't as usual to begin with, they just got lucky this term.

NOW he was free to take a sit, and as he did so you may have noticed how he flicked his wand towards the bonfire, you may have not, that's irrelevant, what IS irrelevant is that the light coming out of the bonfire was dimmed, a lot, yet the heat emanating from it was still the same.

"Everyone talks about what happens after Hogwarts was founded, no? But...how about before? Did something even happen at this same spot we're all hanging out? Over a thousand years ago? Perhaps not...yet it did, though we cannot be sure if it was the same spot or not...but, something did happen before the founders of our school managed to get their hands on this earthly paradise."

Some pre-founders thing, considering they were on an anniversary and stuff, "Now, some of you may or may not have heard about this story of two spirits that seek revenge on the school...well, we know the truth, and you will too, after we're done telling the story, of course." Did he have people's attention now? Because the torches on the stage suddenly lit up...revealing nothing but some misty fog around the stage.

Yes, ghost story.

OOC: Pay close attention to the Prefects from now on. And...don't worry, we'll make sure nothing happens to the audience, meaning YOU. ^^ Also, keep in mind that we have TIME ZONES, so what may have seemed like hours in real life, it may have happened within seconds in the RP.

OOC2: The bits in BLACK will always be parts of the story we'll be telling, or associated with it.

sweetpinkpixie 02-22-2012 10:33 AM

Kurumi remained hidden in the shadows with her black cloak over her dark raspberry dress. Kurumi wanted to venture out into the light and stand by the bonfire to socialize with everyone else, but she didn't have that liberty right now. Maybe after everything was over she could - assuming she still had an appetite. This type of conversation never went over will with the Gryffindor and the Astronomy sleep over party was a major indication of that.

Twisting the fabric of her dress in her hands, Kurumi's body tensed when she heard Treyen begin to tell the story and she instantly regretted spreading the rumor around at the sleep over.

Taking a deep breath, Kurumi took a small step forward and waited for her cue to go on stage. Not too much longer now...

OOC: Kurumi is in all black because of her cloak right now AND in the shadows, so no one should be able to see her - not even an outline of her.

Kimalia was there along with the other prefects, she was quite excited about the whole thing and participating in the event. The marshmellows roasting tempted her, but she knew that would come later on when she was done with helping the event, and so she got ready.

Looking once around, the third year hoped to spot some of her friends there. Hmph… It seemed that they hadn’t arrived yet. Now I should at least find a place where to sit…, the young Ravenlaw told herself. ‘Umm…. Mind if I join you?’, Gwendolyn asked as she looked at the other girl she hadn’t actually talked to before. Hmm… but Gwen was pretty sure she was the Slytherin Captain.

As she heard the Head Boy starting to tell some ghost story, Gwendolyn drew her attention towards him. Hmm… the beginning was… promising.

natethegreat 02-22-2012 01:00 PM

Nate looked up at his head boy when he heard him speak. His back was nearly roasted alive from sitting by the campfire. Then he hear that there would be a story. A ghost story. Ghost stories were always the best. Nate was loving this already. A nice ghost story. A bonfire that was almost roasting Nate's back. It's night time. Just the perfect time for a ghost story.

Hidden in the shadows, Keefer couldn't wait for his entrance. He had donned black pants, a brown and gold shirt, a black vest complete with medieval lion insignia, and a black traveling cloak for the occasion. It made him feel like an old-fashioned knight. Sure the costume was quite from the correct time period, but he liked it anyways.

Get on with it, Treyen! he thought, sneaking a peek at the audience from the stage. But, he was pleased to note, the fire is roaring and will be perfect for later. And Treyen thought we had too much wood. You can NEVER have too much wood. He caught himself, realizing he wasn't listening to the narration. He didn't want to miss his cue.

HOPEendures 02-22-2012 02:01 PM

Jezzabelle sat by the fire and felt the warmth dance across her skin. If only she had someone to sit there with her. She was a big girl though and she was going to listen to the ghost story without being frightened, or at least that's what she told herself. As the story started the stage lit up and she watched the mist swirl in the light. What was going to happen next? She was curious and anxious while waiting.

After Oakey attempted to calm the hyper Alyssa. He turned to check out his surroundings, see if there was anybody else around. Then he spotted Vickers the Ravenclaw with the mysterious nickname. Hiya Vickers. Oakey called to him waving from his spot on the ground by the fire

Then Treyen had called for their attention by the stage. Giving the Head Boy his full attention he listened on about what was here long before the founders discovered Hogwarts.

Elise scurried in, a little late but apparently hadn't missed anything but introductions. Okay, not too bad, right? RIGHT?!

Anyways, she took a seat next to a random person and skewered some marshmallows. Holding them over the fire for a moment, she waited for the outside to melt slightly before pulling it out and allowing it to harden. Perfect.

Taking one, she turned the hot marshmallow in her hand, inspecting it. Seemed okay. Popping into her mouth, she payed attention just in time to hear the Head Boy guy person start talking. YAY!

Spirits? Ghosts? Revenge? Janice knitted her eyebrows. She had never heard such stories.
"No," she answered shortly, still wondering if Prefect Lockhart is making fun of the smaller students. Afterall, she isn't that gullible.

Just then, she heard a rustling from the bushes behind her. She jerked her head towards the bush, but the darkness didn't even let her see the outline of the leaves of the bush. She decided to lay off the thought of ghosts and revenge, and continued concentrating on her marshmallow.

Well this made a nice change from lessons and studying and studying and lessons and everything which gave Tom a headache caused by his frustration at his inability to grasp even the basics of magic.

Usually rather avoidant of the other students, Tom had been attracted by the flames of the bonfire, and curiosity had brought him out here more than any other reason. He wandered his way towards tall flames, a small smile flickering it's way across his face as he gazed at them. It reminded him of the bonfires they used to have on the estate on Guy Fawkes night.. although these flames seemed less.. toxic. No old tires or matresses and lighter fluid to keep the fire going were in sight around this bonfire.

Ignoring the food and blankets for now, his focus was drawn away from the dancing flames and towards the empty stage. He frowned slightly. Something about it made him feel uneasy. He looked away back to the fire, his eyes glinting both because of the reflection of the flames, but also because of the nostalgic feeling he got while watching them.

The flames seemed to dim and Thomas blinked, thinking it was his imagination at first, but he soon realised it wasn't when the male Huffie Head Boy began to speak. He looked away from the fire once again to the older boy. A story. The lad quickly grabbed a blanket and selected a place to sit, not too near the stage but still close enough to the bonfire to appreciate it's warmth.

A ghost story. Maybe this would be interesting. Thomas, although street-wise and perhaps a little cynical for his age was still only fourteen and the child in him loved a good ghost story.

TakemetotheBurrow 02-22-2012 04:38 PM

Ella pulled the blanket tighter around her as she listened to Treyen. Spirits seeking revenge? She didn't know if she liked the sound of that. And was it just her or had the fire gotten dimmer? She was about to ask one of her classmates if they had noticed the same thing when suddenly the stage was illuminated by torchlight. She turned towards it, nervous at what she might see there but there was nothing but fog...fog?

August had heard about the bonfire from Kurumi in passing the day before and after much time in the Common Room dressing so that he would be warm, yet still socially acceptable for public viewing, the Gryffindor arrived at the location on the Grounds where a roaring fire was already up and burning. He he quickly grabbed a small snack of potato chips from a food table before he went off to find Kurumi.

Where was she? The fourth year spent a good 10 minutes looking for her but had no luck. But during his search he noticed a large stage, which only meant one thing....DINNER THEATER!

There better be marshmallows. A bonfire was not a bonfire without marshmallows. Bonfires without marshmallows were abominations...

He paused when he was finally close enough and looked around. It seemed that there were others here as well. Guess he wasn't the only that was curious.

Spotting a the boy Julien who he had met in Flourish and Blotts over the summer before term started, August decided to go sit down and see what was going on he also had marshmellows.

"Hey Julien, hungry?" he chuckled.

But before he could really ask what the Ravenclaw new about the stage or if he had seen Kurumi around, Treyan Lockhart, the Head Boy stood up and greeted them all and announced that they would be hearing a scary story about what was before Hogwarts.

August was instantly intrigued and sat up straighter in the spot he was, turning his head to look at the stage again excitedly awaiting what would happen there.

Another social event, Olivia diddnt even know why she was here. What was she supposed to do, sit down and talk to someone, about what?

She took a seat beside the fire, there was still enough room for people to sit beside her.

This would be the perfect time for ghost stories, and that's what Olivia thought was going to happen on the earie stage. She took some chips and waited for the show to begin.

It was a cold and eerie night, as Nessie walked slowly down to the grounds. She had heard from quite a few people, that there was some sort of bonfire thing going on by the lake. What Nessie didn't know was that the Prefects were all going to tell ghost stories , which was why it was quite ironic that she was wearing a shirt with the word 'boo' on it.

Noticing the fire, she continued walking all on her own. Her pygmy puff, Puffles wasn't with her for a change, she had been worried that he'd be afraid of the fire or he'd start causing trouble as he always did. So instead of the fluff ball she held her little lavender teddy in her hands. She was a bit old for it, but it was dark outside and she didn't care what people thought.

Once she had reached the burning flames she looked around and spotted some blankets food and a stage? As usual she wasn't hungry, which was why she ignored the food table and headed to the blankies instead. She grabbed a blankey and started looking around again she was looking for a place to sit, when she spotted someone she knew very well. "Tom!" she said a little excitedly as she walked over and took a seat beside him. It was good to see him there, as she knew he didn't like these sort of things much, and it was good to see him attempting to socialize.

The fire had gone dimmer? That sort of frightened Ness, she didn't like the dark and so trying not to look scared she cuddled closer to her little teddy. Someone was talking now, it was Treyen the head boy and for now he had Nessie's full attention.

"sp--ppirits?" Nessie stuttered quietly to herself.

Why was Treyen talking about spirits?

Renesmee was utterly confused.

SilverDragon 02-22-2012 05:29 PM

Silvia turned her attention to the Head Boy when he began to speak. Spirits seeking revenge? She could have sworn she had heard a mention of that somewhere before, but couldn't remember when or where. Suddenly the stage became lit and was surrounded by fog. A performance to go along with the story? Cool! Silvia liked theatrical performances. She got up and grabbed a few marshmellows from the nearby table and then returned to her blanket to await the rest of the story.

Wait. Hold up.

Spirits? Seeking revenge? On the school? As in Hogwarts? The one they LIVED in? Ellie's eyes got wide and she hugged her knees up to her chest as she waited for the Head Boy to continue.

And she wished Dallin was there to hold her because she was a real wuss when it came to scary stories. Ugh. She should've dragged him down there.

She shook her head,"No thanks." She looked at the fire quietly.

...Alright. "Your loss," he shrugged. More marshmallows for him! Julien held the bowl to his chest and strolled away to an open patch of land, then sat down.

He he quickly grabbed a small snack of potato chips from a food table before he went off to find Kurumi.

Where was she? The fourth year spent a good 10 minutes looking for her but had no luck. But during his search he noticed a large stage, which only meant one thing....DINNER THEATER!

His alone time with bowl of marshmallows was short lived, though, as August arrived and took a seat. "I like marshmallows, okay," he stated matter-of-factly in a nonchalant tone. At the same time, he popped two 'mallows into his mouth. "Some?" Julien didn't want to be entirely rude. He held the bowl out so that August could take some, if he wanted.

SPOILER!!: Nessie! <3

Thomas looked up when he heard someone approaching. A big smile plastered itself on his face when he saw it was his good friend Nessie clutching her teddy bear. “'ello, Ness.” He greeted her, looking from her face curiously to the soft toy, deciding not to ask why she had it. For her own feeling of security no doubt. There was nothing wrong with that.

He shuffled along a bit to allow her to sit next to him. At least he actually knew someone here who he talked to now. “You any idea wot this is all 'bout?” he whispered to her nonchalantly with his eyes still fixed on the Head Boy. Halloween had been and gone.. unless maybe wizards had their own version in February. Tom's ignorance over the magical world still left him feeling ashamed and, often, embarrassed.

Bonfirrrreee. Indiana liked bonfires. They were pretty. And nice. And this was pretty cool. Indiana was sat on the ground, with a big smile on her face. This was kind of funky. Could they have pretty bonfires like this all the time. Indy liked it. Oooh. Treyen. The headboy person was talking now. That was good. Could they roast marshmellows now? Marshmellows were really yummy. Indy liked them. But oh. They weren't going to be eating marshmellows. Not just yet anyway so it seemed. Oooh! He was going to tell a ghost story. That was cool! Indy hadn't really heard ghost stories that much. It was more Spike's scenes really. Indy smiled, as she listened to Treyen.

Two spirits that would seek revenge on the school? Zomg. Someone wanted to like take revenge on the school. That was like really bad. Indy's eyes widened. Oh dear. Oh dear.

Anyone?

So. So. What was this? It as something new! Something to entice Brooklyn out of her room! YAY! And it was held by the prefects, so.. she kind of felt obliged to go. No scary professors around here, NOPE. Though.. the girl's bright blue eyes couldn't help but wander over to the the stage every few seconds. There was something weird about it. Something that stuck her as odd.

Though, she decided that her eyes should be kept on the huge bonfire rather than some creepy looking stage. Right? It made sense after all.. And it DID keep her warm, which she appreciated. But at the moment, the food was calling her name so.. she went over to the table, grabbing a graham cracker to nibble on.
