Sitting outside the Groundskeeper's hut are a few curved wooden benches just waiting to be occupied. Just like they look, they are not the most comfortable, but don't worry. Once you knock on the front door of the hut, Waylon won't keep you waiting..
..for too long.
OOC: While you are free to create your own RPs in this thread, if your charrie wants to speak with, yell at, or kick (with consequences, of course) the Groundskeeper, you must post here first knocking on the door. Only after I reply may you move into the hut. =D

But that was not something to dwell on. At least not now.
The girl nodded in agreement. His kitten was cute, too. Why must most good Professors leave?
She blinked as Arya rose and followed the motion before she even understood why. "Okay," she nodded, taking Arya's hand.
To the new groundskeeper, then.
Arya had lead the way to the new groundskeeper hut with minimal diversions, plopping down on the curved bench as she admired it with interest. "These are actually nice. Different." Could be a liiiitle more comfortable, but she wasn't planning on being on it long, so no point in wasted complaints.
"Do you remember the groundkeepers name?"

Ellie was quite excited to meet the groundskeeper, actually. Maybe he had an interesting pet of his own. Not a kitty, but perhaps...a jarvey or something.
The Ravenclaw took the liberty of knocking on the hut's door before joining Arya on her bench. "Nope," she said after a bit of lip chewing, as she tried to remember. Was that a bad thing? Would he introduce himself? Or just leave them guessing?

Settling himself more comfortably on his sofa, Waylon was juuust about to let his eyes drift closed when he heard the knock on his door.
He simply stared in the door's direction, almost, almost!, tempted to just ignore the knock, pretend that he hadn't arrived back at Hogwarts yet, but of course, Biscuit decided to do his barking at that exact moment. And even though the dog's barks weren't as high pitched as they were a few months ago, there was no way whoever was on the other side of the door couldn't hear him.
Why was his dog so loud!?
His nap would just have to wait until later. Rolling himself right off the sofa, the groundskeeper ran a quick hand through his hair, probably making it look wilder than it would have if he did take that nap, and reaching the door, he swung it open. Maybe he could just scare the girls away. No, he wasn't good at being scary. "Hey." he grinned at them. "You two can come in, those benches are uncomfortable." And no, he wasn't sorry for the mess inside the hut.

Oh good. Ellie was knocking, kind of important that. She grinned at the younger girl and tried to slouch on the bench and failed. "I guess we'll find out soon enough." Like really soon.

The barking told her that someone was in there, and that their wait was over, AND they had a dog! Arya was loving all these dogs on the grounds. They should make doggie dates or something. Maybe she would do that on her own. Heh.
"Hey!" Arya stood and made her way in, knowing that Ellie would be following close behind. "They weren't that uncomfortable..." She said as she moved past him into the hut.

It all seemed to happen so fast.... one moment ... she was sitting on the bench and the next, he caught her from falling and somehow she was in his arms. And despite the intimate situation that fate seemed to have bestowed upon them, Edvard seemed to have retained his mannerisms and professionalism. Something she was entirely grateful for beyond words. Something that would lead to her next reply to him. She nodded as he mentioned being glad she didn't trip and fall, still trying to comprehend everything that had happened in the last .... five minutes.
Yes that was true. He was right. "I know that, but I think that ... if you speak from the heart, then words will find their way..." Maybe. Or maybe that was just her and her over-analytical brain. "Sure, but perhaps before we forget, we should visit with the new Groundskeeper? Tell him what a lovely job he did with the Topiary." Yup. Compliments were good. Plus it'd take her mind off their momentary closeness.
Edvard was proud of himself for once being able to keep his balance and saving a lady in distress when it mattered. Josephina wasn’t in big danger but landing on the ground without warning could be painful which he had experienced not so long ago. Blocking out the lingering pain he kept a strong hold on his colleague’s shoulders as she regained his balance. If he had been another guy like William or maybe that Runes chap which Edvard never remembered the name of.
Speak from the heart… Pondering Josephina’s advice he nodded in agreement "Why not? I haven’t talked much to Waylon so far. I’m up for anything to put off thinking about pinched cheeks." Edvard muttered the last under his breath. Offering his arm to Josephina he started walking out of the topiary.
Several minutes later the two professors arrived outside the groundskeepers hut. Walking up to the door of the hut Edvard knocked on the door a few times before standing back to wait for a reply. Hopefully Waylon wasn’t out on the grounds tending to the bushes.

Making her way towards Mr. Murdoch's hut, Kurumi played with the small bag in her hands that held a few dog biscuits and a thank you card. She probably should have made cookies for the man, but she had been making tuna fish cookies for Walnut, and she was on a creature treat roll so...cookies for his puppy it was! She had left a little note in the bag to tell him that they were dog cookies. Eating those would have been a very bad thing.
Thankfully, there was no one else around, which made this whole thing a lot less awkward. Sure, this was for a homework assignment, but Kurumi was just awkward about giving individual gifts to school staff. The only time she did was her traditional cookies at the opening and closing feast. Debating whether or not to knock, Kurumi stood idly by the door, swaying back and forth before setting the bag down on the floor and knocking on the door twice before scampering off. She really didn't want to be around when he opened the door. It was just going to be a whole lot of awkward.

Ella carried the thank you card gently in her hands, nervously approaching Mr. Murdoch's hut. The first year was somewhat nervous as she had only just recently been sending green sparks at the groundskeeper. She really hoped he wasn't too cross with her.
Looking down, Ella inspected the card she had made, hoping it would do an adequate job expressing how thankful she was that she hadn't seriously injured had such a nice groundskeeper around who was willing to help the students out.
SPOILER!!: Card
Quote:
Outside: A sketch of a wand with a long flow of green sparks flying towards the reader. Under the sketch, the words 'Thank You' are written in green glitter.
Inside: Dear Mr Murdoch,
Thanks so much for helping out in our defense against the dark arts lesson. I hope you weren't hurt too badly. I think you're quite brave to volunteer like that and I know I hope I can be that brave some day too!
Sincerely,
Ella Bishop

Satisfied, Ella placed her card down at the door of the hut next to another gift that had been left for the groundskeeper. Boy, he sure had a lot of people who liked him! Before leaving, Ella knocked gently on the door a few times to get Mr. Murdoch's attention, then she headed for the castle.
