On the outskirts of the grounds a giant purple tent has been pitched up in the knee deep snow by the groundskeeper to host Professor Roslund’s latest fun incentive. Pack up your telescope and put on your night clothes and come out to the grounds for a fun time with balloon gazing, some food and candy, music and the joyful company of your peers and professors. Remember to dress sensibly since it will most definitely be a cold night. In the center of the festive tent Professor Roslund can be found in his navy blue night robes putting up decorations with the help of his helpers Kurumi Hollingberry and Beatrice Castell who came up with the sleepover idea originally.
Along the walls of the roomy tent a number of pots which give off heat are put up to keep the cold at bay. Around the tent Professor Roslund has enchanted lamps to light up the tent. On the floor a sufficient amount of bean bags, sleeping bags, tables and benches are scattered out over the center of the ground which is covered with warm rugs. Feel free to strike up some light conversation about astronomy or whatever could tickle your fancy on a magical night like this as you eat and be merry together or use your telescopes to spot some balloons. The whole right side of the tent has been cleared to allow for students as well as visiting professors to put up their telescopes and spot some balloons still floating about or maybe an elusive constellation.
Along the left wall you’ll find the food and drink section which mainly consists of sandwiches, salads, candy, hot coca and tea. You shouldn’t have skipped the food in the great hall but if for some reason you skipped dinner there is enough to quench even a starving 7th year boy.
OCC: All SS & School rules apply. This is a party not a lesson. Have fun, meet and interact with new or old users. You will not receive any house points for any balloons you may spot, but a sense of pride and accomplishment for succeeding in what you do.
While everyone was chatting Ella stood up quietly and walked over to the food and drink table. She was eager for some more hot chocolate and maybe another cookie or two... She looked around as she walked across the room, wondering if there were any friends she hadn't said hello to yet. Everyone seemed to be having such a good time and Ella was glad. It was nice to get away from the stress of classes and homework for a night. She waited patiently behind some kids who were helping themselves to everything the refreshment table had to offer
Everyone was having so much fun! By the time Olivia got to the refreshment table, it was jam packed! She waited in line until she got to the front. Hopefully there would be some cookies left!
There were, she chose a cookie that looked like you guessed it a balloon. Have you tried one of these yet? she asked a Hufflpuff who was about her age.
SPOILER!!: Butterfly
"This was nice of the professor to let us all be out this late on the grounds." She said with a smirk.
Olivia was caught off guard, she haddnt expected butterfly to smirk. Well she was Slytherin. Ya, thats true. And how they are actually letting us sleep out here" Olivia replied.
Then, Olivia remembered something the sleeping bags. Olivia was supposed to make sure everyone got one.
It looked like most of the people were here, and some people might come later, and there were still a few sleeping bags left in the pile.
"Is there anyone who doesnt have a sleeping bag or is having problems with their sleeping bag? If you do, you can come over to the pile
She picked a sleeping bag and she adjusted her telescope at a different angle.

Raven was surprised when Zhenya pulled her. Ghost stories? Well, it's not bad. Ghost was a common thing for wizards, right? Hope it would be interesting and they didn't tell her about silly-sparkle-vampire story.
"Hmm sure," she said to Raven. There didn't seem to be ghost stories here anyway. She stood up and set her telescope up next to Raven and started looking for balloons. But a minute after she hadn't spotted any, so she started looking up at the stars.

And then Kurumi saw that Professor Vindictus had arrived and she grabbed her tray of cookie lollipops before heading over towards him. "Good evening, Professor Vindictus," she smiled, presenting him with the tray. "Cookie?"
"Why thank you, Kurumi!" exclaimed Vindictus as he took two cookies from the tray and smiled. "I'm sure that these will be just as tasty as the broomstick cookies you baked for me."

Lily smiled as Taylor agreed with the idea, and her grin got wider as Taylor mentioned that he was a wizard. "So... what's your favorite constellation?" Lily asked figuring that it was as good a time as ever to ask considering that they were at an astronomy sleepover.
Lily looked at Logan before replying. "That's good... I, too, have been good. I had a nice relaxing break at home with my little brother, Lupin." Lily took a sip of her hot cocoa, burning the tip of her tongue because the cocoa was hot.
Lily smiled as she saw Angelina lift her telescope. "Are you looking forward to seeing some stars, or are you just going to look for balloons?" Lily asked her friend who seemed to be involved in multiple conversations at once.

Lily had gone to get more hot cocoa, and as she came back, she heard Taylor ask Logan about whether he had made the quidditch team. Slipping next to Taylor, Lily waited to hear what the answer was.
Lily piped up after Logan's answer. "I decided to wait at least another year before trying out also..." Lily hadn't ever flown before she got to hogwarts so she figured that she should wait until she had flown for at least a year before trying out.
Angelina smiled at Lily and said, "I think I'm going to do a little bit of both." She looked around and up at the stars. "What about you," She asked.

Ug...why oh why had she brought up the rumor...Kurumi was already getting chills thinking about ghosts. Well, vengeful ones anyway. There were countless ghost stories her brothers had frightened her with as a child and she had gotten the impression that ghosts in the magical world were well, not so scary. Or...so she had thought.
Thankfully, the appearance of a young lion to the party momentarily distracted her. "Jezz!" Kurumi called, waving to her little sister lion. COME DISTRACT PEOPLE!
Oh good! Another distraction. "I see you got my...cookie?" she asked. Chances were Selina had devoured the cookie and THEN realized that there was a note from Kurumi under it. Or...had the captain picked up both at once and swallowed the note? That was possible too.
But then...Selina brought up ghost stories. "Um...yeah...you know...that rumor about the lover ghosts..."
Cool? Merlin. If Kurumi didn't know better, she would guess that Daichi would go on a sort of ghost hunt through the castle trying to find these rumored ghosts. If he wanted to though, maybe the Spirit Room would be a good place to start - but she wasn't going to tell him that. It would only get him into trouble most likely.
Ignoring the ghost comments for now, Daichi had her full attention when he asked his question about thestrals. "It is," she nodded with a gentle smile on her face. "I...I can't see them yet because, well, I haven't seen some one die." No sense in sugar coating the truth. Daichi was a big boy now - or at least he wanted to be treated that way. "If you have seen death and accepted it, then you can see thestrals. If not, well, they remain invisible to you." She scooted a little closer to Daichi now and rested a hand on his shoulder. Could he see them? The way he was talking and his body language seemed to imply such, but Kurumi knew better than to press the issue. It was a very sensitive and personal subject.
When he brought up the music, she laughed. "What? I thought it was rather fitting! Camping out under the stars and all."
Merlin. What was it with people and actually WANTING to frighten themselves to pieces. "Um...I did..." Kurumi said, raising her hand as if she were in class. "It's just a rumor though, the Lovers Ghosts. They haunt Hogwarts and...um...attack happy couples...or something...every thousand years" She really just needed to stop talking about the ghosts and everything. She was getting goosebumps all over her body.
Thankfully, Alyssa took out her telescope and Kurumi was just about to suggest everyone do the same when...
Violet asked her about the ghost story as well. However, she also mentioned that perhaps now was not the best time to discuss it and Kurumi could have hugged the girl. Good little Ravenclaw! "I am probably not the best to tell ghost stories since they frighten me," Kurumi laughed nervously. "I don't really know anything more than rumors right now about these ghosts to paint you a proper picture anyway." True, but she would go to the library later and nothing was stopping them from trying to find some things out on their own. "There is always a lot of mystery surrounding Hogwarts. Have you been to the Spirit Room? You might find something there if you are curious." Way to go Kurumi...send the kids on a wild ghost chase.

Yep...everything perfectly fine here. Seeing that he had taken out his telescope, Kurumi walked over towards him. "Spot anything interesting?"
And then Kurumi saw that Professor Vindictus had arrived and she grabbed her tray of cookie lollipops before heading over towards him. "Good evening, Professor Vindictus," she smiled, presenting him with the tray. "Cookie?"
Finally having placed on her coat she felt warmth radiating into her bones. Jezz shoved her hands in her pockets and shook her head. She wasn't really all that good with searching for things anyway. She'd try again later though because there was one things she could never handle....and that was failing.
She turned to her name and beamed at the older lion and moved to join her and the crowd that surrounded her. "Kurumi!" She looked a the people around her older sister lion and smiled a little at Daichi. They last time they bumped into each other had been just a little tense, but maybe they could move past it. After all she had only spoken the truth.

Taylor chuckled and nodded, "Tis a life of a student." She smiled and braided her hair. Tay then put her brain into a bun so that it wouldn't get in her way. After she had found one at the duck pond, Raven tried to find another balloon again. She was still looking with her binocular who was not better than big telescope. But it is easy-to-bring anywhere. Finally she found the other balloon again. The orange one near the lake.

She cooly turned to Elliot, realizing that the Morganzo hadn't made the statement, and calmed slightly. "Yes, your father always has been very mysterious about his work. Have you ever speculated about it?" Presley's own father was as well. She knew he worked with books and numbers, but what he did with them and how they were useful was a mystery to his children.
She was listening to Presley answer Elliot's questions when all of a sudden the girl turned around and lashed into her. Hannah's blood automatically boiled. She didn't care who you were or how pure your blood was nobody was going to talk to Hannah like that. Not to mention that she couldn't be that noble with a muggle as a mother. It usually wouldn't bother her so much whether or not other people's parents were pureblood, but this girl did ask her how her parents felt did she not? Sure she shared her parents views on the matter, but if someone did not want to know something then why ask? "Being married to a wizard and knowing about us is different from exposing to the general population about us." Which was true and besides she didn't really care what this girl thought. Presley isn't anything to her. She wasn't going to apologize for how she felt. It wasn't her fault that her father married a muggle.
Hannah was not somebody that was going to go with the flow. She believes in what she believes in and that's that. She wasn't even trying to be rude to the girl. She was over it now though. She was acting as if she was ranting on about her mother personally. Once she was told that her mother was a muggle she would have let the subject drop but not after she went off the deep end. "I wasn't speaking to you any kind of way...you asked me a question and I answered." Surely this girl did not think that life was always rainbows and sunshine. People were not always going to have the same views or opinions. Hannah wasn't going to change her views to appease anyone. That much she was sure of. Hannah was done with the foolish girl. So she stared her down before turning to Elliot.

Elliot raised her eyebrows at Presley with s smirk on her face, which was meant to tell the other girl that she understood. Hmm. Preset didn't know how she felt about Hannah yet, she could tell. Pity, really. Hannah was a lot like Elliot.
It didn't surprise Elliot that Mr. Black agreed with Darius about the cult. Afterall, they were in the same circle of friends. What DID surprise was Leo's opinion. He disagreed with his father? How weird. Darius would never allow that.
"How...interesting," she commented.
What also surprised her was the fact that Hannah's parents were against the cult. But she supposed that the reasoning behind it was good enough. However, she doubted this comment from comment would earn any like from Presley. Her mother had been a muggle, afterall. Hmm. If it suddenly got quite heated...how fun that would be.
Mysterious jobs? Sounded like Elliot's dad! Except he didnt work for the ministry...he had his own business.
"Oh, my mother always says her job is maintaining her household and her children. So, in other words, she doesn't have one, either," she replied as she rolled her eyes. " my father, too, has a mystery job. But I think we have some type of family business...."
Elliot wondered what Presley's dad did...she couldn't remember. She knew Leo worked at the ministry, though.
As she looked at Elliot she couldn't even remember what she had said at first still fuming about the silly Presley girl...noble blood....right! She wondered for a moment how Elliot could be friends with such a person and then she thought back to Diagon Alley when she had met another girl that wasn't sure her blood and realized that it didn't matter because they had gotten on so well. Makes no difference now she would never be ok with someone talking to her like that. Ahh yes it was coming back to her...their mothers. Your mom sounds a lot like my mom." Which is a lot more than she could say about Presley's mom. Then Hannah stood there because she was not going to let Presely run her off and she sure wasn't intimidated!

"Daichi, I knew you won't let this party pass without attending." she joked as she ruffled the hair of the snake. "Hello Prefect Z.." she smiled towards her and her pygmy puff. "Oi. Nate!" Beezus nodded towards the young badger who dueled with her once. "Sky! Raven! Are you guys enjoying the night? " she called out to the two familiar she-snakes. "Minnie, how are you?" she then asked her badger friend. As for the other ones she didn't know, she gave them a nod and smile.
At last, she arrived at where the Prefect was, "Lovely night, eh? Can I get some of that?" she asked, pointing the cute and adorable looking cookies. She took a star-shaped one and took a bite from it. "Oh! Delicious.." It truly was. "D'you need help with giving out the treats?" Beezus asked as she still munched on her cookie.
"Hello, Beezus!" she greeted the Ravenclaw, smiling. "Yeah, it's a fun evening!" Okay, now she was feeling less awkward as it seemed everyone was being nice.
Sky headed over to find a free space (one out of the way, so people didn't have to step around it) for her sleeping bag. She finally found one over near the edge of the tent and pulled the bag out of her overnight bag and set it up. Once that was done, she walked over to the refreshments table and grabbed a mug of hot chocolate. She took a sip and smiled. It tasted so good!

Yay! Sophie loved talking about Hogwarts. It was the best place in the whole world! "Oh, I love everything here!" Her eyes sparkled as she clapped her hands together.

Being so excited that she was ACTUALLY finding them this time, and realising how much fun she had missed in the last lesson, she was jumping up and down yelling "YAY I GOT ANOTHER ONE!"

Taylor nodded at Sophie, "A lot of awesome people are here, fun classes, nice professors....." Tay trailed off. WHen asked if she was french she replied, "I'm half French and half Scottish." She smiled and laughed. "What about you? What nationality are you?" When Sophie clapped and her eyes were sparkling in happiness about how she loved everything at Hogwarts, Taylor couldn't help but grinned at the girl, and be as excited as she was.

Zhenya was happy she and Raven were working together. If she hadn't been able to see the general direction Raven was pointing towards as she saw her balloons, she would have completely missed them. Silly Zhenya had been focusing in the sky where she thought she would see them floating through the galaxy.
"Good job!" she said to Raven. Zhenya continued to look through her telescope to find some more. She also kept half an ear open for ghost stories.
"PROFESSORRRRRRRR?" she yelled loudly. Not in a demanding tone at all. "Can you tell us a Ghost story? Pleeeeaaaaaaaaaaaaaseeeeeee?" she asked, hoping he would. Even just a little one!

So August had decided after being a tad bit hesitant about the weather to attend the Astronomy outdoor sleepover down on the Grounds that evening and had gone wearing his red plaid pajama pants with a dark blue sweatshirt for a top. He expected there to be some form of magical heat but there was nothing better to him than a good ole hoodie.
After having milled around for a bit and grabbed one of Kurumi's cookies, he decided it was time he found the Prefect for he had a small surpise for her. On his way over he saw the Astronomy man himself. "Good evening Professor Roslund. A...nice night for a sleepover outseide eh?" he chuckled. He wasn't being terribly sarcastic, just joking around. He was actually having a good time so far.
After finally spotting Kurumi through the crowd students in pajamas, Auggie quickly approached her and then hopped infront of her with a smile. "Hey Kurumi! Some party huh?" he said standing there with his hands thrust deep into his sweatshirt pocket on the wrapped up package he had gotten from his mother the day before.
"So Christmas is coming up..." he said non-chalantly, he wasn't wasting time with clever segueys. How would he say this? He hadn't really given a gift to one of his friends at Hogwarts before, well nothing like this at least. "Here you go. My mother made it for you, I had to tell her what all it needed to look like and stuff but yeah, for you." he said with a small grin, waiting to see how she would react.
