"I'm not really that good... I get decent marks... Wouldn't you rather go find the food trolley?" he hoped she would, he really didn't want to embarrass himself with magic in front of Angela...

Right before the summer was over, after he had met with Taryn on her birthday and way after their first date with Tori and Paulie, August had gotten a owl from 'Taryn' which he had strong feelings was really from their now 'attending a french wizarding school' friend. It was really sappy and that just screamed Tori Bunbury.
Nonetheless, he wanted to see Taryn. He had missed her since they had last met up and was excited to get to Hogwarts with her. After checking a few compartments in the back of the train he finally found her and walked right in, she was staring at her shoes. "Hey Taryn, did you step in gum?"
Taryn had taken to wondering if Tori had kept her promise and was wearing HER bff!shoes today too. She decided that she WAS just as the door opened.
"Hi!" She might have gasped a little bit when August stepped in. So he DID want to sit with her after all! She was definitely more happy about that than she'd been expecting she'd be, but she tried to hide it. She didn't want to look like a crazy person and send him away running.
That would put a damper on the ride.
She blinked at his question. "Um, no?" She cast a glance at her shoes and then back to him. "Why?" Errr...
Quickly, she put her feet on the ground, clearing the seat. He could like... sit with her. If he wanted. Ahem. "No, I didn't. I was admiring my shoes." She smiled happily, fully expecting that even though he was a BOY, he would recognize how AWESOME and PINK her shoes were.

How could he deny that? "Okay, what do you want to see? You must know a little bit about spells already..."

Good, this one Chris was good at. He pointed his wand at her bag of money and said, "Wingardium Leviosa!" Her bag lifter off the seat and stayed there for a minute until he put it back down. "How was that?" he said with a smile...
"Yeah, I feel the same way..." Nate muttered to Jayden, eyeing the haughty cat. It was odd that their eyes matched, him and Rowena. Not bad, per say, but definitely odd. A thought struck him as he peered into the blue depths of Rowena's proud, icy eyes. "Hey Jez, where was Rowena all summer? It's a wonder she's alive," he asked quietly. He didn't need Jayden asking questions, let alone the first year in the compartment...

Rowena growled, swiping Jez across the face with her claws. She dropped the cat with a yelp of pain, and Ro jumped up into the luggage rack, hiding herself at the very back. There was now a thin, deep scratch over Jez's right cheek. She winced as she gingerly touched it. "This is why I wanted an owl," she muttered.
"An owl's got nothing on me, sugar," shot back Ro from between the trunks. "I eat owls for breakfast - literally."
Jez smiled at Pam when she came in. "Hello," she greeted, then pointed at Pam's owl. "Keep your pets close, my cat's on the warpath. That's probably how she survived all summer - on owls."
"Too right," called Ro. "I actually camped out at your place, Jezabel. Not much of the house left standing, but enough." Jez's face darkened.

He didn't get to look over at her for long until he felt a whoosh of air as Rowena lashed out at Jez, and was promptly dropped to the floor. "Yikes. Bad kitty," he said quietly, turning to investigate Jez's wound. Judging by how thin the line of blood above her cheekbone was, Nate decided that she would live. After all, she'd been through much worse. He couldn't help but want to make it better, though. "Do you want me to fix that up for you?" he asked, gripping his wand from inside his robes.

The pride won, like the usually did. "Nah, I'm okay," she shrugged, smiling. "It's only a scratch, you should see the others that little tiger's given me."
The 'little tiger' was currently sniffing at Pam from her perch in the luggage rack, also battling with her pride. Rowena managed to let pride go, and jumped down to Pam. "I like you," she said, lying down next to Pam and putting her head in the girl's lap to have her ears scratched. She looked up at Jez. "I found a few photos at your house you might be interested in," she said casually.
Jez's face tightened again. "Drop it, Ro," she said, her voice dangerously quiet. "I don't want to know, okay?" Something in her eyes made Rowena flinch.

"I see you've found a friend," he said, unsure of which one he was talking to, the cat or the girl. He went rigid for a moment when Rowena brought up the pictures she had evidently found. His glare followed along with Jez's towards the cat, making her flinch and squish up into Pam's leg. Meanwhile, he let go of Jez's hand and instead let the same arm fall over Jez's shoulders. He gave her a small hug, noticing the pain in her eyes behind her solid demeanor. "You okay?" he asked quietly. Again, he didn't need anyone else asking questions.
He looked back over at Pam when he felt something press into his arm. An envelope? An envelope! "Thanks, Pam! Really, thanks a lot. Even for the ones of my parents," he said, opening the envelope with his left hand and rifling through the pictures. The three of them laughing up in the tree in Pam's backyard, Jez and Des reluctantly being held near each other by Keegan, Nate's parents smiling nicely side by side. "These are amazing..." he said admiringly.
Holy Merlin! The cat could talk!
"The cat talks? How come I did not know this?" Jayden asked, wide eyed.
Ah, lovely. Pam had finally made her appearance.
"Pam! I've missed you tons! How are you dear?" She asked, her eyes darting around the room. There were so many people in the compartment!
And speaking of people, where in the world was Caelius? He sure had been skipping out on her a lot. A whole lot. This did not make Jayden happy.

Good, this one Chris was good at. He pointed his wand at her bag of money and said, "Wingardium Leviosa!" Her bag lifter off the seat and stayed there for a minute until he put it back down. "How was that?" he said with a smile...
"Amazing! Man, I've tried that one before and I just ended up knocking over a candle. Bad idea..." Angie smiled shyly and took her bag back. "Now, time for food!"
Amelia still had no idea where Isaac was, which was kind of worrying her a little as she really did not like trains, but with all the people boarding she just had to get out of the corridor's. She felt as if they were all closing in on her and she hated it, at least in a compartment not too many people would enter it without knowing who was already sitting there and she could stay close to the window.
Of course finding an empty compartment was easier said then done. But she'd finally found one and managed to push her way through the people and into it. Letting out a small sigh of relief Amelia clambered to get her things into the overhead compartment before dropping down onto the seat and staring out the window. She could not wait for the train to leave the station so that she'd be able to get off of it sooner.
"Amazing! Man, I've tried that one before and I just ended up knocking over a candle. Bad idea..." Angie smiled shyly and took her bag back. "Now, time for food!"
"Yes! I'm sure the trolly is somewhere on the train... It can be an adventure!" Chris said as he held the compartment door open for Angie...
Charles shrugged at her question, "Just some advice." Though her comment intrigued him. Maybe that was the answer. He just needed a better broom! His eyes lit up and a smirk came across his face. "And...what broom would that be exactly? If it can do that it would surely be swift enough for Quidditch." Pfft like he'd ever do that sport. Flying around on a broom chasing balls...definitely not his idea of a sport. Needs full on contact. Like Rugby!
Hearing what she asked he shrugged and leaned back against the side of the car with his feet on the seat. "Not much to tell really. Born. Home schooled until my mum found out my tutor was teaching me dark arts stuff which I found totally cool so I don't know what her deal was. But I digress. So....I got sent here last term made some Dark Wizard mad in Knockturn Alley which was fun and term started and now I'm here. How about you?"
Harlow thought about it for a minute, "Well a Firebolt or a Twigger. A Comet would do it as well. Basically any broom that quidditch players use would turn on a knut almost. But those brooms are expensive so I wouldn't recommend flying them at a wall. You might smash the broom." She told him. Or you could end up in a coma or as a babbling fool in St. Mungoes.
She looked at him, "You think dark arts stuff is cool?" Harlow didn't think dark arts stuff was cool. She wanted to stay as far away from that stuff as she could. "Why were you in Knockturn Alley?" Charles was sounding more and more like a person she didn't want to hang around with much longer. Or maybe he just thought toeing that line was a thrill or something. Harlow's brothers certainly like doing things they knew were wrong just for the thrill of it. Harlow preferred to stay out of trouble.
Harlow pursed her lips together as he spoke. "Well I have to say my life is a bit more how should I say. Not exciting, but I guess I have a little more to my life than a few words." she told him. "I was born in Syria during my cousins wedding. That's why my middle name is Syria. I've got seven brothers and sisters and my dad is the youngest of 13 kids. He has 12 sisters. I've had two children's books published and I want to be a famous author. When I was a baby I was a model for like nappies and bottles and things. I'm 12 year old and I grew a whole quater of an inch this summer. So I'm 4 foot and 1/4." That was her life in a very small nutshell.

"Oh ok, yeah they're nice." They were pink. He personally would never wear pink shoes but they looked good on Taryn--yeah with her -erm- shirt and stuff. Sitting down next to her August nodded and looked around the compartment.
"You excited for school?" he didn't want to bring up Tori or anything and she could still be excited without her. She still had him and Aspen, and Paulie and...her other friends? Besides they would meet other people obviously.

Jez leant into Nate slightly, glad he understood, but still keeping the wall up. "Yeah, I'm fine," she said, smiling. "Just a bit disorientated, I guess. Apparition does that." Especially Des' apparition ... was that lady on a mission to shake Jez off?!
She took the envelope from Pam, grinning. "Pam, these are excellent!" She flicked through the photos, admiring each one. More pictures to go up on the underside of the canopy on her bed at Hogwarts. She couldn't wait to make another collage with them.
Jez rolled her eyes at Jayden's exclamation of surprise, giggling. "Jay, the cat never shuts up!" Ro paused in her constant purring to snort derisively, then went back to enjoying being patted.

Amelia really, really hated trains.
Zayden had lost his sisters in the crowd while getting into the train so, like always, he didn't go find them. Technically, they WERE old enough to take care of themselves and he knew that Josslyn wouldn't want to be anywhere near him when she was with her friends. SNORT. Friends. He really was curious as to who she hung out with because it wasn't like she made friends easily.
He excused himself as he pushed passed some people and he walked all the way down to the end of the train when he realized that there were NO more empty compartments. "Just my luck," he mumbled under his breath. Sighing, he turned back around and started heading up front
until he noticed a lonely redhead sitting in one of the compartments that was coming up on his left.
I told myself I was going to make new friends this year, he thought as he looked at the girl. He just had this little minature fear of meeting new people because of what happened in his past when he was made fun of about his size about his issues. About everything that involved him but, however, the girl looked nice so he was going to take his chances.
He slid the door open and asked, "Do you mind if I join you?"

Taryn side eyed Auggie when he sat down. She was mentally measuring the distance he'd left between them and wondering what exactly THAT meant. Again, Tori would know.
She turned around so that she was fully facing him, "I guess so." But really, how much COULD one be excited about SCHOOL? She mostly liked the independence of being away from home and sort of making her own decisions a little bit. "Are you?" Hmm.
"I'm glad that.... I'll get to see you more often." She added slowly, not sure if she REALLY wanted to admit it out loud, but maybe he would LIKE to know that? "I mean- it was kind of weird with the whole date thing, and not really seeing you much after that." Right? Was that weird to him too? She wasn't over reacting... was she?
Uhoh.
Did she sound clingy?!
Luckily she was quickly distracted by the sound of meowing as her cat woke up from her short nap and appeared from under the seat. She'd almost forgotten that she'd even brought the cat with her!

And there weren't a lot of people with him. Which didn't mean much of anything really... He also looked familiar, although why she had no clue.
Finishing her appraisal Amelia slowly nodded, "Sure you can join me," she replied, her voice far less hesitant than her nodding had been. She needed to make friends here after all and having someone to sit with would surely make this train journey a whole lot less painful. At least she hoped so. But to make things less painful she should probably introduce herself. That would help to start a conversation, right?
"I'm Amelia by the way," she volunteered, giving a friendly smile at the same time, while eyeing the corridor warily. Hopefully not too many more people would want to come in. A few more would be okay, but not too many.

Zayden felt kind of awkward after a moment or two of just standing there. Maybe it was because this girl was looking at him like he was wearing a Chewbacca outfit and doing a hula dance... or maybe it was because he was standing in the doorway of a pretty redhead and she wasn't saying anything. Whichever reason it may have been, it was an awkward situation up until the moment at which she spoke.
"Thank you." He stepped inside the compartment and closed the door behind him. After sticking his brown paper sack he had been carrying under the seat and out of the way, he sat down across from the girl and grinned.
When the girl introduced herself as Amelia, his grin formed into a mellow face. He had NEVER met another Amelia besides his girlfriend. "My girlfriend's name is Amelia," he casually stated. "I'm Zayden. It's nice to meet you."
...
"I did say 'thank you', right? For letting me stay in here?" He couldn't remember.

Alyssa awoke startled. She touched her face and realized that it was wet with her tears. She could barely remember her dream but she could still see Aaron's face when he told her that he had loved another girl. Alyssa shook her head. She needed to erase that memory from her mind because she knew that it wasn't a dream but what had happened in reality. She quickly wiped the tears from her face when she realized that she wasn't alone in the compartment. She recognized the voices. It was Harvey and Amethyst. Alyssa didn't want them to know what had happened on the platform, so she took a deep breath, forced herself to smile and turned to face them. "Hi guys. How long have you been here? She had never been on the receiving end of punishment, but she hoped that was all he would do if she misbehaved. "What did you do down there?" she was still intrigued however.
Harlow smiled, "Yeah my family is really big. Like huge. I think we could populate a small country or something. But my grandparents are old fashioned Africans who have huge families. Like my aunt Egypt has seven kids too. And my cousin Amarie has four already." she pointed out. Harlow liked having a big family. She bit off another piece of chocolate. "Well if you set your mind to it you can conquer the world. And I plan on doing just that." she commented happily. "Plus my mom was the one who entered me in the baby contest. But the writing I did all on my own." Now that she was proud of.

Thank Merlin he'd shut the door. Although Amelia wasn't sure if that was necessarily a good or a bad thing. Good because the crowds were shut out, but bad because the space was now enclosed... Stupid Catch 22's.
"You're welcome, she replied, giving him another smile, more relaxed than the previous one. So far so good with her idea that he seemed friendly enough. Although she really shouldn't judge people on looks alone...
Oh. Had she said something wrong? Obviously not since he was still speaking, and she'd just given her name. Wait. He was dating someone called Amelia? How many Amelia's were there at Hogwarts??? Obviously her, and that nice girl from Diagon, but now there was another one too??
Nice to meet you too, and yes you did say thank-you," Amelia replied absentmindedly before taking in what he'd said his name was. The other Amelia had called the guy near the Park Bench Zayden, which would explain why he looked familiar, and also his girlfriend sharing the same name. So maybe there weren't more Amelia's after all.
"You're the guy that hit that other kid over the head with a lightsabre in Diagon aren't you? If so I think I've met your girlfriend, she was really nice," Amelia blurted, not really thinking much about what she was saying. But if she was correct then she was only telling the truth. After all people who shared candy, unless they were creepy, were always nice.

Because she wasn't as close to Saber as she was to Dashi, the kitten felt awkward around her. Amethyst smiled and picked him up, setting him in her lap. She giggled, kissing his head as she scratched behind his ears.
Harvey smiled as se said that he was right "But of course but sshhh dont tell anyone." he said laughing and joking around...she then put her kitten onto her lap and giving him the attention..
Walking down the train aisle, Isaac couldn't figure out how in Merlin's name he'd lost Amelia. One moment he'd been like right behind her next, poof gone. He hoped she was still doing fine, she had been last he'd seen her! Oh well, he was sure she'd be good, as soon as the train was moving anyway if not by now. Peeking into compartment after compartment, he saw dozens of students but no Amelia. Maybe she wasn't on the train yet...
Awkward...did he find a seat and hope she found him or keep looking? Spotting an almost empty compartment he saw two people talking. He was positive it was her! Tapping on the window he grinned at them raising his eyebrow.
