Jory stared at the Professor. A Poem? Unfortunately he was no good at these stuff but he gave it a try anyway. Quote:

Kurumi just stared at Professor Roslund looking horrified. Not only was she pretty sure that she was horrible at writing poetry, but now they were supposed to write l-l-l-love poems? Kurumi still wasn't sure that she understood the concept. She thought that she did, but there had been some changes within her recently that caused her to sort of doubt herself. Why hadn't anyone told her that turning 16 was going to be so bloody confusing. So...maybe...writing something that wasn't a love-love poem would work? Friendship poetry was good too, right? It could be descriptive or something. Perhaps talk about how they met and all that. Seemed like a safe bet. Kurumi was feeling far too awkward about this whole thing and looked around the room... Kurumi scooted her chair a little closer towards him. "Psst, Vickers," she hissed, hoping to catch his attention. "Want to pair up for this? Just write about each other?" She would probably use birds as some sort of metaphor in her poem, which was probably going to be a series of haiku really. Vickers was really interested in aviation and flight. Seemed like a good fit. |
So Amelia was honestly not the best at poetry, and she could admit that to herself. She wasn't great at rhyming, and she wasn't sure that she could sum everything she felt up into a haiku of only a few lines and syllables. She started writing, keeping her pencil moving until she was finished: Quote:

SPOILER!!: Kurumi Vickers' head spun at the sound of the voice, oddly feeling absolutely elated and totally frightened. He stared at the face of the Gryffindor Prefect. It was difficult enough for him to write anything resembling a half decent prose, but to do it with her? She who has sent his heartbeat racing the first time he saw her? Perhaps he would feel inspired. Yeah! He shifted his eyes to his parchment, expecting words to just start flowing from the end of his quill...... Nope. Nada. Totally and utterly blank. "Sure. Thats a great idea." he smiled. Might as well mark his own parchment with a big fat F. |
A poem?? A LOVE poem?? Laura had never had a crush on anyone, so she didn't really know what it felt like, to be in love. She wondered what to write. After a few minutes of thought, she started writing Quote:

She was just about to apologize to him and tell him never mind, but he accepted the offer and even smiled. "Great," she chirped, clapping her hands together once. This would make this in-class assignment so much easier. She wasn't sure she could write a poem to Jonathan and not make it feel forced or awkward. She much rather said these sorts of things in person, instead of through an owl. So, fresh piece of parchment out, Kurumi set to writing the only form of poetry that she really knew: haiku. Quote:
Slowly, she lifted her violet eyes from her parchment to look at the Ravenclaw beside her and pushed the parchment towards him. Sorry, Professor Roslund. She was not going to read this in front of everyone. Vickers' eyes only as it were. |

While the Gryffindor had been going over each of the Venus nicknames and facts in his head that he had just heard he nearly missed the last assignment of the lesson. He would have been left out JUST LIKE PLUTO! Luckily a quick peek over to the student beside his desk's paper, he could see they were working on a poem for someone they...liked. Well, obviously that would be Taryn. The boy quickly began to scribble on his parchment. Quote:

SPOILER!!: Kurumi His parchment still a blank page save for the scribbles and scratched off words that littered the bottom, Vickers could feel his brow sweating up as he struggled to do something literary in an Astronomy class. He wiped the sweat with his hand, half expecting to see the moisture a faint shade of crimson. He glanced up with a jerk when Kurumi shifted her parchment to him. She's done? His eyes trailed the words scrolled across the page.... and swallowed hard. It was a friendship prose. And a pretty good one at that. He smiled at Kurumi before whispering "Its good. Thank you." He was getting a strange sensation at the pit of his stomach which he tried to ignore. There was a task at hand. Concentrate! He set his quill against the parchment and looked away. He has been trying to force the words together with little success and now thought of a different tactic. He drew a deep breath, clearing his thoughts and just let.... whatever... write the words. And slowly, his quill started to scribble away on the parchment... SPOILER!!: only for Kurumi (and ze Prof) He stared at the words. As it was being written he admitted it was a side of him that rarely breaks the surface, his logic and reason always being at the forefront of all waking thoughts. Going it over the first time he thought it made sense.... but at the second reading it didnt make any sense at all. Plus he had that all too familiar feeling of reading something that was lame. He had half a mind of tearing up the parchment and starting over. But as he looked around the class with many of them looking to be done he bit his lip and folded the parchment several times and slipped it across to Kurumi. "Sorry" he mumbled. For what he couldnt quite figure out yet. He watched the Professor like a hawk. The minute the man's mouth would form the word Dismissed he was bolting out of there like a bat outta hell. |
SPOILER!!: Vickers! Kurumi smiled and shook her head. "I'm really horrible at this...my brother, Takashi, is the real poet." Kurumi was more of the memorize a textbook and recite it sort of person. She could sort of handle haiku, which is what she had just done. "But...I'm glad you like it." So, he could keep it if he wanted to. When Vickers showed her his parchment with a poem written about her, she read it over carefully and her eyes widened. It was...so complex...so deep...and she wasn't sure she really understood it all. "I don't think you are a hapless fool," she giggled. That was HIM in the poem, right? Her cheeks did flush a bit when she read over the part about her being a summer breeze, but clearly not understanding the connotations that Vickers was implying. It was his last bit... Leaning over just a bit, Kurumi pointed to the final verse and looked at Vickers. "It's all lovely, Vickers. But I think your mind is too complex for me to understand." Which wasn't a bad thing. Intelligence was a very attractive feature to a person. |
Edvard looked on as the student’s with mixed expressions dug into the task of writing love poems to someone in their life that meant a lot to them. Everyone except Kurumi and Vickers concentrated on creating on their own whilst those two worked together and wrote poems to each other. Checking the time on his watch his eyes went wide 'it was so late', where had the time flied? Leaning against his desk he coughed to get everyone’s attention. "I see that everyone have worked very hard on their love poems and kudos to all of you for trying it out to honor Venus. I’d love to hear your poems, but alas our time tonight has run out. I have enjoyed teaching you this term and I hope each and every one of you will be back in this classroom next year as we continue to explore outer space." "Class is dismissed!!" Turning around to face his desk Professor Roslund began to gather up his lesson notes and books. |
Alyssa quickly packed up her things and stuffed the parchment that she had written her love poem deep into her back pack. She was glad that she didn't have to read it aloud after all. She made her way to where the Professor was standing and wished him goodbye."Goodbye Professor Roslund. I thoroughly enjoyed our classes this term and look forward to attending more of your classes next term. I hope that you have a great summer." Alyssa smiled before heading down to her Common Room. |
Class was over and they didn't have time to read their poems? Sweet. Ella was terribly nervous about reading hers. She packed the poem along with her notes and quill and pulled her bag over her shoulder. She stopped in front of the Professor on the way out. "Bye Professor Roslund! I didn't get any of this stuff before but you made it really fun! Can't wait til next term!" The first year gave Roslund a genuine smile and headed out the door, off to relax in the common room for a bit. |
he's melting! XD SPOILER!!: Kurumiiiii He could feel his whole head blush up, wondering if he isnt red as a tomato yet. He gave a nearly imperceptible shrug of his shoulder, as he lips curled into a sheepish half grin. He did feel like a hapless fool, all the time he was around her. His brain just reasoned out that it was just one plausible explanation or another. Then his eyes shifted to the verse she pointed. The one that he was also having trouble with because his heart said it was a truth so clear it hurt, yet his brain said it makes no sense. And his mouth started to move, again something his brain wasnt anticipating "It was a dream, a false hope. And reality is… " he shook his head. He couldn’t find the words. He looked up at her and smiled a sad smile. It was everything that words has failed to say. SPOILER!!: zeProf Then the Professor said it. Three precious words. Vickers bolted out of his seat only to ram his torso against the edge of the table. He groaned through his clenched teeth but was far too panicked to let that stop him now “I-I’ll see you later Kurumi. I have Alchemy to go to.” Wait is Alchemy even offered at Hogwarts? Obviously he’s not thinking straight, he’s so flustered he doesn’t even remember what his next class was. He was halfway out the door when he turned, stealing a glance at the Gryffindor Prefect. Really what was he thinking coming up with something like that? No, he wasnt thinking. Plain and simple. And there was a part of him that wanted to deck himself. He cast his eyes downward and turned quickly for the hallway, not really knowing where he's headed. |
Jory stuffed everything in his bag then swung it over his shoulder when he was done. "Bye Professor,'' he said"Great lesson. Enjoy the summer.'' He gave the professor a wave and headed out to the Grounds. |
